Cowboys star G Zack Martin doubtful to play vs. Commanders

Fri Nov 22 6:49pm ET
Field Level Media

Dallas Cowboys star guard Zack Martin is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders due to ankle and shoulder injuries.

Martin didn't practice at all this week. He also physically struggled during Monday night's loss to the Houston Texas.

Martin, who turned 34 on Wednesday, has started all 162 games played in 11 seasons with the Cowboys. He's a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and a seven-time first-team All-Pro.

Tight end Jake Ferguson (concussion) and safety Markquese Bell (shoulder) have been ruled out. Neither player practiced this week after being hurt against the Texans.

Cornerback DaRon Bland (foot) practiced in full this week and will make his season debut. He was injured in August.

Star wideout CeeDee Lamb (back/foot) was a full practice participant on Friday and is good to go.

Cornerback Trevon Diggs (groin/knee) and receiver Brandin Cooks (knee) are among six players listed as questionable. The others are offensive tackle Chuma Edoga (toe), guard Tyler Smith (ankle/knee), defensive end Marshawn Kneeland (knee) and linebacker Nick Vigil (foot).

Hot Plays, Fades and Sleepers: Week 12

Player Notes
Wil Lutz Nov 23 10:00am CT
Wil Lutz

Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz is as close to a must-start in fantasy this weekend as he'll be all year as he takes on the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12. The Broncos' offense is peaking right under rookie quarterback Bo Nix after putting up a season-high 38 points in the Week 11 win over the Atlanta Falcons, and the Raiders have allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing kickers. Back in the Week 5 win over Vegas, Lutz converted on both of his field-goal attempts (one from 50-plus yards) and made all four of his extra points. The 30-year-old veteran has missed only three of his 22 field-goal attempts this year, with one being blocked and another coming from over 60 yards out. Lutz's 81 fantasy points on the year rank him as the No. 9 fantasy kicker, and his 22 field-goal attempts are tied for eighth. Lutz is easily a top-10 fantasy kicker heading into Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Lil'Jordan Humphrey Nov 23 9:50am CT
Lil'Jordan Humphrey

Denver Broncos wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey had his best game of 2024 in the Week 11 blowout win over the Atlanta Falcons, catching all four of his targets for a season-high 52 yards and his first touchdown of the year. Humphrey will be looking for a second straight strong game this Sunday against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders and their beat-up secondary. The 26-year-old played only 44% of the offensive snaps last week, though, and faces plenty of competition for targets alongside Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr. and rookies Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin. Rookie QB Bo Nix has been spreading the ball around all year to wideouts not named Sutton, too, making it mostly a crapshoot for which receiver might have the best game behind Sutton. Fantasy managers playing him as a WR5/flex in deep leagues are merely hoping for a couple big plays and potentially another TD.

From RotoBaller

Devaughn Vele Nov 23 9:40am CT
Devaughn Vele

Denver Broncos rookie wide receiver Devaughn Vele should be considered a WR5/flex for fantasy managers heading into a plus matchup against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on the road in Week 12. Vele, a seventh-rounder back in April, has taken on a bigger role in Denver's passing attack ever since Josh Reynolds (hand) landed on Injured Reserve. The 26-year-old had his second-highest receiving yardage total (66 yards) in the Week 11 blowout win over the Atlanta Falcons and also came up 12 yards shy of Courtland Sutton's yardage total. However, Vele has also been under 40 receiving yards in five of his seven games in his rookie season. The Raiders secondary will be missing several key pieces on Sunday, which is good news, but Denver's offense may not need to throw the ball much in this one to win easily. Vele profiles as more of a desperation flex option for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

Jayden Daniels Nov 23 9:30am CT
Jayden Daniels

The Philadelphia Eagles defense will go on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12 on Sunday night. The defense has not given up more than 20 points since Week 4 and proved they can hold good offenses in check last week when they stifled rookie Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders on Thursday night football. The Rams are another tall task to face, especially with their wide receivers now healthy. However, with six teams on bye this week, you can do a lot worse than starting a defense that has been on fire since the team's Week 5 bye.

From RotoBaller

Joshua Karty Nov 23 8:30am CT
Joshua Karty

Los Angeles Rams kicker Joshua Karty does not rank among the top fantasy options heading into Week 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles. For starters, the rookie has delivered below-average production so far this season, going 16-for-20 on field goals and 21-for-25 on extra points. Outside of an explosive Week 10 game in which he made five field goals, he hasn't scored double-digit fantasy points since Week 4. Additionally, this weekend, he faces the Eagles, who have surrendered the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing kickers in 2024. There's always a chance Karty drills a couple long kicks and rewards fantasy managers, but the numbers suggest otherwise. After all, the Eagles have allowed the second-fewest field goals from beyond 50 yards.

From RotoBaller

Davis Allen Nov 23 8:10am CT
Davis Allen

Los Angeles Rams tight end Davis Allen falls outside the top 24 fantasy options heading into Week 12 against the Philadelphia Eagles. While Allen impressed with five catches and 34 yards back in Week 10, he was less productive and less involved against the New England Patriots last Sunday, failing to catch a pass. Not only was he out-produced by fellow tight end Colby Parkinson (one catch, 19 yards, one touchdown), but he also saw his snap share drop to 65 percent. Further complicating Allen's status is a tough matchup against the Eagles. Philadelphia has defended tight ends quite well this season, allowing the third-fewest fantasy points and second-fewest touchdowns to the position. Between the presence of Parkinson and a tougher opponent in Philadelphia, Allen should be benched in most fantasy leagues this week.

From RotoBaller

Dallas Goedert Nov 23 6:40am CT
Dallas Goedert

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will go on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12 on Sunday night. The 29-year-old has finished as a top 12 fantasy option the past two weeks since returning from injury and should see an increased target share with No. 2 wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) ruled out. The matchup with the Rams is great, as they allow the seventh-most fantasy points per game to tight ends and will have their hands full trying to slow down Saquon Barkley and the Eagles run game. Receivers Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson will see their roles increase as well, but they have not shown anything special in 2024 and Goedert is averaging six targets per game in ones he has not left early due to injury. Fire up the veteran with confidence in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Jake Elliott Nov 23 6:40am CT
Jake Elliott

Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott will go on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12. The veteran has had a rough season for fantasy purposes. After being passed up multiple times this season on fourth down in favor of going for it, the team finally decided to try and take the points often last week against Washington. Elliott proceeded to miss two of four field goals and also missed one of his three extra-point attempts. Playing in Los Angeles is favorable for him, but it will be interesting to see what direction head coach Nick Sirianni will go when in field goal range on fourth down after last week's poor performance. Even with six teams on bye, Elliott remains tough to trust in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Johnny Wilson Nov 23 6:30am CT
Johnny Wilson

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Johnny Wilson will go on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week midnight on Sunday. The rookie has had a quiet 2024 campaign but should see an increase in snaps with star receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) ruled out. The matchup against the Rams is exploitable, as they allow the 10th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers. Jahan Dotson is likely to get the first crack at filling Smith's shoes, but Wilson has the size and jump ball skills to potentially see a couple of end zone targets in this one. Even in a week with six teams on bye, managers will be hard-pressed to flex the 23-year-old into their lineups, but he is worth keeping an eye on heading into Sunday night.

From RotoBaller

A.J. Brown Nov 23 6:20am CT
A.J. Brown

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown will go on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night. The 27-year-old has had great matchups over the past four weeks, but with the Eagles taking a run-heavy approach, he has failed to find the end zone since Week 7 against the New York Giants. His bad luck could turn around this week, as the Rams allow the 10th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers this year and fellow receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) has been ruled out. Neither Jahan Dotson nor Johnny Wilson have made a real impact this year when given the chance, so expect Brown and tight end Dallas Goedert to see a heavy target share in a great matchup on paper.

From RotoBaller

Jahan Dotson Nov 23 6:20am CT
Jahan Dotson

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jahan Dotson will go on the road to face off against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12. The 24-year-old has been a non-factor for fantasy purposes in 2024 but has the chance to step in as the No. 2 option beside superstar A.J. Brown, as DeVonta Smith (hamstring) has been ruled out. Dotson has just four targets over the past three weeks and is sharing playing time with rookie Johnny Wilson, but with six teams on bye and the matchup against the Rams being great, he will be on the flex radar in Week 12. Wilson should also see his role increase, making both players incredibly risky starts, but Dotson should have a slight edge over the rookie in terms of playing time.

From RotoBaller

Cole Kmet Nov 23 4:50am CT
Cole Kmet

Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet is a risky fantasy start in Week 12, as he faces a tough Minnesota Vikings defense and continues to be a secondary option in the Bears' inconsistent offense. While Kmet had a slight uptick in usage following the offensive coordinator change last week, finishing with just three receptions for 42 yards, he remains a volatile fantasy play. The fact that he's no longer splitting tight-end duties with Gerald Everett is a positive, but it hasn't yet translated into consistent fantasy production. Kmet has shown the ability to have spike weeks, but more often than not, he's been a disappointment, especially in tough matchups. The Vikings' defense is one of the stingiest in the league, ranking 4th in points per game allowed and 5th in EPA per pass, making it difficult for any passing game to thrive. With several teams on bye, Kmet could be a desperation streaming option if you need a tight end but expect volatility. He carries significant risk in a matchup that limits his upside.

From RotoBaller

Cairo Santos Nov 23 4:50am CT
Cairo Santos

Chicago Bears kicker Cairo Santos is a solid, somewhat unexciting fantasy option in Week 12 as he faces the Minnesota Vikings. Santos' most recent performance was a mixed bagwhile he successfully converted his first two field goals, he had a chance to win the game with a field goal at the buzzer, only to see it get blocked. Whether that missed opportunity will linger in Santos' mind remains to be seen, but he has generally been reliable throughout the season, making him a dependable kicker option. Minnesota's defense has been tough on passing offenses this year, ranking 4th in points per game allowed and 1st in EPA per play, which could mean fewer scoring opportunities for the Bears. Still, Santos has been consistent in terms of accuracy, and with the potential for field goal attempts in a low-scoring game, he's worth considering as a start. While there are likely higher-upside options available, Santos is a steady, if unspectacular, play for Week 12. If you're dealing with bye-week issues or injury concerns, he's a reasonable choice, but don't expect any game-changing performances.

From RotoBaller

Caleb Williams Nov 23 4:40am CT
Caleb Williams

This Sunday, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams presents a high-risk, high-reward fantasy option as he faces the Minnesota Vikings. After a solid performance in Week 11 against Green Bay, Williams completed 23 of 31 passes for 231 yards and added 70 rushing yards; he's looking to build on his momentum. Williams demonstrated improved poise in that game, getting the ball out quicker and evading pressure thanks to a more efficient scheme under the new offensive coordinator. This quicker release helped keep Williams upright against a Packers defense that's no slouch. However, Williams faces a much tougher test in Week 12 against a Vikings defense that blitzes at the second-highest rate in the league and has been tough on quarterbacks all season. Minnesota ranks 4th in points allowed per game and 5th in EPA per pass, making this a difficult matchup for any passer. If you're stuck with a quarterback on a bye or dealing with injuries, Williams could be a potential desperation play, but Minnesota's aggressive defense may cap his ceiling. In one-quarterback leagues, exploring other options is wise unless you're in a deeper format or need a true boom-or-bust gamble.

From RotoBaller

D'Andre Swift Nov 23 4:40am CT
D'Andre Swift

Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift is shaping up to be a risky RB2 option in Week 12 as he faces one of the most formidable run defenses in the NFLthe Minnesota Vikings. Swift had an efficient Week 11 performance, rushing for 71 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, but big plays have buoyed mainly his fantasy value in recent weeks. With Minnesota's defense ranking 4th in points allowed per game and 1st in EPA per rush, it will be challenging for Swift to replicate those explosive moments on the ground. The Vikings' defense, led by defensive coordinator Brian Flores, has stifled opposing rushing attacks, making it hard to expect significant yardage gains or a multi-touchdown outing. Swift (groin) has been dealing with a minor injury, but he practiced fully on Friday and should be ready for Sunday's game. With many fantasy teams dealing with bye weeks, sitting Swift is difficult, but fantasy managers should temper expectations. He's still a solid flex or low-end RB2 play, but the matchup should give you pause before locking him in as an automatic starter.

From RotoBaller

Roschon Johnson Nov 23 4:40am CT
Roschon Johnson

Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson is a speculative play in Week 12 as he faces a daunting matchup against the Minnesota Vikings' elite run defense. The Bears' backfield rotation continues, making Johnson a potential dart throw for fantasy managers in deeper leagues or those searching for a sleeper. In limited action last week, Johnson showcased his goal-line potential, rushing 10 times for 33 yards and a touchdown, which is encouraging for those hoping he'll see more opportunities in Week 12. With starter D'Andre Swift (groin) limited in practice this week, there's a chance Johnson could see an uptick in touches, though Swift practiced fully on Friday and is expected to play. Johnson's fantasy viability this week largely depends on whether the Bears can get into the red zone and decide to use him in short-yardage situations. The Vikings rank 4th in points allowed per game and 1st in EPA per rush, making it difficult to trust any back in this matchup. For fantasy managers dealing with bye-week fill-ins, Johnson could be a desperation play with touchdown upside. His value hinges on the Bears' ability to push the ball inside the 5-yard line and give him a chance to punch it in.

From RotoBaller

D.J. Moore Nov 23 4:40am CT
D.J. Moore

Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore is a risky WR3 option in Week 12 as he faces a challenging matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. He'll build on his momentum after a solid outing in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers, where Moore hauled in six receptions for 62 yards. The recent change in offensive coordinator has seen Moore more involved in the quick passing game, a strategy that will be crucial against the Vikings' aggressive defense. Minnesota ranks 4th in points per game allowed and 5th in EPA per pass, making it a tough matchup for any passing game. The Vikings also blitz at one of the highest rates in the NFL, which could pressure quarterback Justin Fields and limit Moore's opportunities for downfield targets. However, with the Bears' new offensive playcalling, there is some hope for upside, significantly if the quick passes help Moore get into space. While Moore is a risky WR3 with a tough matchup, his involvement in the passing game and the potential for volume could still provide a solid floor in PPR formats. Fantasy managers should temper expectations but keep him in flex consideration.

From RotoBaller

Keenan Allen Nov 23 4:40am CT
Keenan Allen

Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen will be looking to bounce back in Week 12 as he faces a tough matchup against the Minnesota Vikings' secondary. After a frustrating performance in Week 11 against the Green Bay Packerswhere Allen saw eight targets but only caught four passes for 41 yardshe's eager to get back on track. Despite seeing consistent target volume from rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, Allen's fantasy production has been underwhelming this season, and the connection has yet to click fully. The Vikings' defense has been one of the most formidable in the league, ranking 4th in points per game allowed and 5th in EPA per pass. This makes it a difficult matchup for any passing game, including Allen's. To make matters more uncertain, Allen (ankle) was added to the injury report late in the week and is now listed as questionable. Head coach Matt Eberflus said it was a rolled ankle in practice, but they don't believe it's serious. While Allen is not a recommended start this week due to the tough matchup and his injury concern, fantasy managers dealing with bye weeks or injuries might be forced to use him as a desperation flex. Keep a close eye on his status before game time.

From RotoBaller

Rome Odunze Nov 23 4:40am CT
Rome Odunze

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze is looking to build on his solid performance in Week 11 as he faces a tough Minnesota Vikings defense in Week 12. Odunze had a productive outing last week, recording 65 receiving yards against the Green Bay Packers. As the Bears' primary big-play threat, he'll be eager to continue his progression and establish himself as a reliable option in this offense. Odunze's ability to make plays downfield could be critical in Week 12, as the Vikings' defense, while challenging, blitzes at one of the highest rates in the NFL. If the Bears' offensive line can give quarterback Caleb Williams enough time, Odunze could see plenty of one-on-one opportunities. However, the Minnesota defense has proven to be one of the toughest matchups in the league, ranking 4th in points per game allowed and 5th in EPA per pass. Despite the challenging matchup, Odunze continues to come into his own and could be a sneaky WR3 with upside in Week 12, especially if he gets some downfield looks. For fantasy managers needing a high-ceiling play, he's a worthy consideration as a flex or WR3 option with big-play potential.

From RotoBaller

Cooper Kupp Nov 23 2:00am CT
Cooper Kupp

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp had six catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 11 win over the New England Patriots. The wideout suffered an ankle injury in the Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Fortunately, he was back on the field for the Thursday night meeting with the Vikings back in October. Since then, Kupp has played well, amassing 29 receptions and three trips to the end zone in the last four games. Despite a tough matchup with the Eagles defense on tap for Week 12, Kupp remains a welcome addition to any fantasy lineup.
