Field Level Media

Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry will miss at least two games this week with an ankle injury.

An MRI showed no structural damage and confirmed a left peroneal tendon strain, the team said Monday.

Curry, 36, will be re-evaluated Friday. The Warriors host the New Orleans Pelicans for back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights before a road game against the Houston Rockets on Saturday.

Curry sustained the injury in Sunday's 112-104 home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

He first left the game with 2:43 left in the third quarter after injuring the ankle. He didn't leave the bench area and was reinserted into the contest with 8:08 remaining in the fourth. But his return lasted just 13 seconds after he aggravated the injury and exited for good, limping significantly and using support from teammate Gary Payton II.

Curry finished with 18 points in 27 minutes. He made four of his seven 3-point attempts and added six assists.

Curry is averaging 18.3 points, 6.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds in three games in his 16th season with the Warriors.

The 10-time All-Star and two-time NBA MVP is the league's all-time leader in 3-point field goals (3,758) and career free-throw percentage (.910).

Player Notes
Andrew Wiggins Mon Oct 28 4:50pm

Golden State Warriors small forwardAndrew Wiggins (back) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 29-year-old is dealing with a lower back strain, but he's considered day-to-day. With Stephen Curry (ankle) and De'Anthony Melton (back) likely missing the next two contests, Wiggins could see an uptick in minutes if he is cleared and able to play through his back injury.

Stephen Curry Mon Oct 28 4:40pm

The Golden State Warriors announced Monday that guard Stephen Curry (ankle) will be unavailable for Tuesday and Wednesday's games against New Orleans and will be re-evaluated Friday. Curry turned his left ankle twice in the same game in Sunday's loss to the Clippers. However, he did have an MRI that showed no structural damage, and the injury has been confirmed as a left peroneal strain. With the sharpshooter out for now, Andrew WigginsandBrandin Podziemski could both see an uptick in minutes against the Pelicans.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Mon Oct 28 4:00pm

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) appeared on the injury report with right patella tendinitis, but is considered probable to play against the Boston Celtics on Monday. The Bucks are going to need everyone available to take on the reigning champs, so luckily Antetokounmpo should be ready to go. With Khris Middleton (ankle) still out, Damian Lillard and Antetokounmpo will still take on the bulk of the offensive workload. The two-time MVP is a must-start any time he plays.

Onyeka Okongwu Mon Oct 28 3:50pm

Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu (toe) played in the first half of the team's back-to-back, but will not suit up for the second half on Monday. The big man is listed as out with toe injury management after he played 23 minutes on Sunday and registered 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal. We've entered another season waiting for him to become the starter, but Clint Capela remains in the starting five and should see extra minutes on Monday. Larry Nance Jr. will likely see more minutes off of the bench too.

Lonzo Ball Mon Oct 28 3:50pm

Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball (knee) will likely be a mainstay on the injury report this year as he's returning from a two-and-a-half season break from basketball due to injury. He's listed as available, however, for their game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. The only game he's missed so far was one half of a back-to-back so he could be considered a streaming option in regular games once he's able to spend some more time on the floor. He's more of an option in very deep leagues at the moment.

Grayson Allen Mon Oct 28 3:40pm

Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen has been removed from the injury report and will suit up on Monday against the Los Angeles Lakers. The 29-year-old was at shootaround getting some work in with the rest of the team and will likely see some added opportunities if Bradley Beal (elbow) is unable to give it a go. Allen is a good source of threes, some assists, and maybe a steal or two for fantasy managers competing in category leagues.

Bogdan Bogdanovic Mon Oct 28 3:40pm

Atlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) will be sidelined for the third consecutive game with hamstring tendinopathy in his right leg. There hasn't been any word about his return, it seems to be a day-by-day issue where Bogdanovic sees how his hamstring feels ahead of tip-off. Dyson Daniels, Garrison Mathews, and Vit Krejci will all see added opportunities. Daniels would be the most reliable fantasy option if he's on the waiver wire in any format.

De'Andre Hunter Mon Oct 28 3:40pm

Atlanta Hawks forward De'Andre Hunter (knee) has suffered some right knee inflammation and is considered questionable again on Monday. He went into Sunday's game with a questionable tag and was downgraded to out at the time. After sitting out the first half of a back-to-back, Hunter may have a better chance to play but fantasy managers will want to check back 90 minutes before tip-off to make sure. If he doesn't play, Zaccharie Risacher should get some extra run while David Roddy sees some minutes in relief.

Josh Okogie Mon Oct 28 3:30pm

Phoenix Suns guard Josh Okogie (hamstring) will be out again on Monday as he continues to deal with a right hamstring strain. He was seen getting some work in after the team finished with shootaround and was moving pretty well, but not at game speed just yet. When he's able to suit up, he'll likely slot back into a depth role and may take some minutes away from rookie Ryan Dunn or Monte Morris. There still isn't a firm timetable for his return though.

Goga Bitadze Mon Oct 28 12:40pm

Orlando Magic center/forward Goga Bitadze (foot) makes an early-season appearance on the injury report while he deals with a left foot injury of sorts. He's listed as questionable for the team's Monday night contest against the Indiana Pacers and could leave the Magic's frontcourt quite thin. Franz Wagner (illness) and Jonathan Isaac (hip) are also listed as questionable at this time. That leaves Wendell Carter Jr., Moritz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, and Jett Howard as possible options. The former three would all be viable as fantasy options.

Steven Adams Mon Oct 28 12:40pm

Houston Rockets center Steven Adams (knee/calf) has received a questionable tag for Monday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. If he's able to play, this will be his first game since January of 2023. He missed all of last season while recovering from a knee injury, then suffered a setback at the beginning of this season with a calf injury. He'd likely slot in as the backup center and could even be on a minutes restriction if he does play. Otherwise, Jock Landale should remain as the backup center.

Tre Jones Mon Oct 28 12:30pm

San Antonio Spurs guard Tre Jones (ankle) suffered a right ankle sprain during the team's season opener and has been ruled out for both games against the Houston Rockets. Over the weekend, head coach Gregg Popovich said that Jones could be out for as long as two weeks. Stephon Castle will likely see some added minutes while Chris Paul should be in the game more often too. With Devin Vassell (foot) still out, Malakhi Branham could see some opportunities as well.

Bradley Beal Mon Oct 28 12:20pm

Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal (elbow) appeared on the injury report ahead of the Monday night matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers. He's listed with elbow soreness and is officially questionable. The All-Star combo guard missed 29 games due to injury last season, so the Suns may be listing this as a precaution, but his injury status is still worth monitoring ahead of tip-off. If he's unable to play, Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale will see added minutes.

Maxi Kleber Mon Oct 28 12:20pm

Dallas Mavericks forward Maxi Kleber (hamstring) received a questionable tag while he continues to deal with a right hamstring strain. The 32-year-old was able to play in each of the Mavericks' first two games and played 15 minutes in both of them. While he's not on the fantasy radar right now, if he has to miss this game, his minutes will likely go to some of the starters. P.J. Washington, Daniel Gafford, and Dereck Lively II could all benefit in that scenario.

Franz Wagner Mon Oct 28 12:10pm

Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner (illness) popped up on Monday's injury report later in the morning due to an illness. Right now, he's listed as questionable, but with the later addition to the injury report, his status is worth monitoring up until tip-off. If Wagner can't suit up, with Jonathan Isaac (hip) also listed as questionable, Moritz Wagner could step in to create a big lineup. Gary Harris, Cole Anthony, and Jett Howard all could see more minutes as well.

Jonathan Isaac Mon Oct 28 12:00pm

Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac (hip) picks up another questionable tag for their Monday night matchup against the Indiana Pacers. The defensive-minded wing has missed each of the last two games after picking up the hip injury in the team's first game. The Magic have been erring on the side of caution with Isaac, so he remains questionable. If he has to miss another game, Moritz Wagner should see an uptick in minutes.

Stephen Curry Mon Oct 28 12:00pm

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (ankle) turned his ankle twice in the same game on Sunday. During the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, the sharpshooter turned his ankle, returned to the game, and turned it again while making a move off-ball. He's set to undergo an MRI while ESPN reports that the team is "bracing" for him to possibly miss several games. Andrew Wiggins should see the biggest increase in opportunities while De'Anthony Melton and Brandin Podziemski will see more opportunities in the backcourt.

Cameron Thomas Mon Oct 28 12:30am

Nets' G Cameron Thomas scored 32 points on 10-of-21 shooting in a 115-102 win over the Bucks on Sunday, Oct. 27. Thomas is owned in very few, if any leagues.

Tyrese Maxey Mon Oct 28 12:30am

76ers' G Tyrese Maxey scored 45 points on 14-of-32 shooting in a 118-114 win over Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 27. Maxey is owned in very few, if any leagues.

Kelly Olynyk Sun Oct 27 9:40pm

Toronto Raptors forward/center Kelly Olynyk (back) won't suit up for Monday's contest versus the Nuggets. The veteran hasn't played this season due to a lumbar strain in his back. At this point, it's unknown when he'll be on the court. Jakob Poeltl will continue to handle most of the minutes underneath the basket. But until Olynyk makes his 2024-25 debut, Chris Boucher should continue to benefit. However, Boucher has averaged only 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds, making him an unreliable replacement in all fantasy setups.
