Field Level Media

Anthony Edwards scored seven of his 36 points in overtime and the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves overcame De'Aaron Fox's 60-point performance to beat the Sacramento Kings 130-126 in an NBA Cup game Friday night.

Fox shot 22-for-35 from the field and 6-for-10 from 3-point range for Sacramento, which rallied from a 20-point deficit in the third quarter to force overtime.

Fox's 60 points set a franchise record, surpassing Jack Twyman's 59 points for the Cincinnati Royals on Jan. 15, 1960. Fox is the 13th player in NBA history to score at least 60 points in a loss.

Randle scored 26 points for Minnesota, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Domantas Sabonis 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Kings, who have lost three of the past five.

Cavaliers 144, Bulls 126

Donovan Mitchell poured in 37 points and Darius Garland supplied 29 as host Cleveland became the sixth team in NBA history to open a season with 14 wins in a row by beating Chicago.

Mitchell also had seven boards for the Cavaliers' NBA Cup victory. Jarrett Allen finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds and reserve Caris LeVert scored 22.

Coby White netted a team-high 29 points for the Bulls, who knocked down 20 of 42 3-pointers. Nikola Vucevic contributed 25 points and eight rebounds, and Patrick Williams notched 17 points and nine assists.

Lakers 120, Spurs 115

Anthony Davis poured in 40 points and added 12 rebounds and LeBron James scored Los Angeles' final four points and recorded his fourth straight triple-double as the visiting Lakers outlasted San Antonio in an NBA Cup game.

James finished with 15 points, 16 rebounds and 12 assists as the Lakers won their fourth straight game. Austin Reaves added 19 points.

Victor Wembanyama paced the Spurs with 28 points and 14 rebounds. Stephon Castle added 22 points, and Chris Paul chipped in 11 points and 11 assists.

Knicks 124, Nets 122

Jalen Brunson sank the game-winning 3-pointer with 6.2 seconds left for host New York, which squandered all of a 21-point lead before edging Brooklyn in NBA Cup action.

Dennis Schroder's 3-pointer with 12 seconds remaining gave the Nets their first lead since the first quarter. Following a timeout, Brunson -- who finished with 37 points -- took an inbounds pass from Mikal Bridges and sized up Dorian Finney-Smith before hoisting a shot that got nothing but net.

Cam Thomas scored 12 of his 43 points in the fourth quarter for the Nets, who outscored the Knicks 40-24 in the final 12 minutes before dropping their Group A opener. The Knicks improved to 2-0 in the NBA Cup.

Pistons 99, Raptors 95

Cade Cunningham had 15 points and 10 assists and visiting Detroit defeated Toronto in an NBA Cup game.

Malik Beasley added a team-high 20 points for the Pistons, who have won their first two games of the in-season tournament after their 123-121 overtime victory over the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

Jakob Poeltl had a season-best 25 points, grabbed 19 rebounds and had three blocked shots for the Raptors, who have lost their first two tournament games and six in a row overall. RJ Barrett added 22 points.

Heat 124, Pacers 111

Bam Adebayo scored 30 points and Kevin Love scored all of his 15 points in the third quarter as Miami topped host Indiana in NBA Cup action.

Love scored 13 straight points early in the third quarter as the Heat opened the second half on a 28-12 run, stretching a six-point halftime lead to 22 before the midway point in the third quarter. The Pacers never got closer than 10 points.

Obi Toppin scored a team-high 21 points off the bench and Tyrese Haliburton added 18 points and eight assists for Indiana, which has lost three of its past four games. The Heat had lost four of their previous five games.

Warriors 123, Grizzlies 118

Buddy Hield had a team-high 18 points and nine teammates scored at least eight apiece as Golden State edged Memphis in an NBA Cup game in San Francisco.

Moses Moody chipped in 14 points while Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Stephen Curry 13 each for Golden State, which improved to 2-0 in the NBA Cup. The Grizzlies' Jaren Jackson Jr. was the game's leading scorer with 32 points.

Golden State led 74-67 with about five minutes remaining in the third quarter, but then Curry, Brandin Podziemski and Hield buried 3-pointers in a 19-11 period-ending burst that opened a 15-point advantage.

Hawks 129, Wizards 117

Dyson Daniels scored a game-high 25 points, helping lead Atlanta over visiting Washington in NBA Cup pool play.

De'Andre Hunter added 22 points off the bench as the Hawks won their second straight East Group C game. Jalen Johnson tallied 18 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists, while Trae Young added 18 points and nine assists.

Playing in its first NBA Cup game, the Wizards lost their seventh straight overall. Kyle Kuzma led Washington with 24 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Poole contributed 22 points, and Alexandre Sarr chipped in 20.

Magic 98, 76ers 86

Franz Wagner scored a game-high 31 points and Orlando Magic went on a 9-0 run late in the fourth quarter to rally past visiting Philadelphia in NBA Cup group play.

Orlando limited the Sixers to 40.3 percent shooting from the floor in the game and forced 18 turnovers that the Magic converted into 24 points.

Wagner had a game-high 11 rebounds and added six assists for Orlando, which has won five straight. Rookie Jared McCain led Philadelphia in scoring for a second consecutive game with 29 points. He shot 5 of 10 from 3-point range.

Rockets 125, Clippers 104

Jabari Smith Jr. scored a season-high 28 points and Alperen Sengun recorded his fifth career triple-double as Houston capped a sweep of back-to-back home games against Los Angeles.

The contest was the opener of the NBA Cup group stage for both teams. Smith shot 11-for-17 from the floor and drilled a career-high-tying five 3-pointers, all in the first half. He grabbed 11 rebounds to pace the Rockets, who led wire-to-wire en route to their sixth win in seven games.

The Clippers' James Harden scored a team-high 21 points and matched Ray Allen for second place in NBA history in career 3-pointers. Harden's third trey of the game, late in the first quarter, was the 2,973rd of his career. He missed four more attempts the rest of the game.

Thunder 99, Suns 83

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 28 points to lead host Oklahoma City past Phoenix in an NBA Cup matchup.

Luguentz Dort scored 15 points for the Thunder, and Jalen Williams added 14. Even in the absence of Chet Holmgren, one of the league's top shot-blockers who is out with a fractured hip, Oklahoma City finished with 11 blocks.

Playing without Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Grayson Allen, Phoenix struggled to generate offense. Josh Okogie posted a team-high 15 points as the Suns shot a season-low 29.3 percent from the floor.

Pelicans 101, Nuggets 94

Brandon Ingram scored 29 points and host New Orleans ended a six-game losing streak by snapping Denver's five-game winning streak in a matchup of short-handed teams.

Brandon Boston Jr. added 19 points and Trey Murphy III scored 17 for the Pelicans, who played the NBA Cup game without six of their top eight players.

Michael Porter Jr. scored 24 points, Peyton Watson had 18, Jamal Murray had 16 and Christian Braun 15 for the Nuggets. Nikola Jokic, who has four consecutive triple-doubles, missed the game for personal reasons.

Player Notes
Walker Kessler Sat Nov 16 11:50am

Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler (hip) remains out for Saturday's contest against the Sacramento Kings. The 23-year-old has averaged only 9.2 points this season, which isn't surprising. However, category managers have at least appreciated his career-high 10.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per contest. Hopefully, Kessler's absence won't extend beyond three games. But in the meantime, the red-hot John Collins, averaging 18.1 points during the 2024-25 campaign, is a must-start, especially if Lauri Markkanen (eye), who is questionable, doesn't get on the floor.

Lauri Markkanen Sat Nov 16 11:40am

Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (eye) is questionable for Saturday's showdown with the Sacramento Kings. The veteran hasn't met expectations during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 16.3 points, considerably less than last season. He's also already missed three games, so another absence would be frustrating for fantasy managers. With that in mind, if the eye contusion keeps Markkanen out of the lineup, Cody Williams will likely take his spot. However, the 19-year-old has averaged only 4.6 points in seven starts this season, so he's not a trustworthy fantasy performer. Instead, Markkanen's absence should allow guys like Collin Sexton, Jordan Clarkson, Keyonte George, and John Collins see a bump in fantasy production.

PJ Washington Sat Nov 16 11:30am

Dallas Mavericks forward P.J. Washington (knee) isn't expected to suit up for Saturday's matchup with the San Antonio Spurs. The former Hornet has missed the Mavs' previous five contests because of a right knee sprain. As a result, Naji Marshall has taken his spot in the rotation and has averaged 10.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals as a starter. But Marshall (illness) is under the weather, so he may not play on Saturday either. If Marshall and Washington are both sidelined for Saturday's contest, fantasy managers could see Maxi Kleber get more involved. However, Kleber is far from a trustworthy fantasy option.

Jrue Holiday Sat Nov 16 11:20am

Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday (knee) is questionable for Saturday's showdown with the Toronto Raptors. The veteran isn't as productive as when he was a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he's still averaging 12.8 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.9 rebounds. He's also still a sound defender. But if his left knee tendinopathy keeps him off the floor on Saturday night, it will presumably open the door for added production for Payton Pritchard, who has averaged 16.2 points and 42.7% shooting from deep this season.

Naji Marshall Sat Nov 16 11:10am

Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall (illness) is questionable heading into Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. With P.J. Washington (knee) sidelined recently, Marshall has been rolling with the first-five. He's played well enough, averaging 10.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in four starts during the 2024-25 campaign. But with Marshall and Washington uncertain for Saturday's contest, head coach Jason Kidd may need to shuffle things around, resulting in more work for Maxi Kleber and Olivier-Maxence Prosper. However, neither of those guys are reliable fantasy options, even with the potential for an uptick in production.

Kyrie Irving Sat Nov 16 10:50am

Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation heading into Saturday's game versus the San Antonio Spurs. The 32-year-old didn't play in Thursday's two-point loss to the Utah Jazz because of a shoulder strain. As a result, Quentin Grimes entered the starting lineup and finished with 15 points, five assists, and one steal. But now that Irving is back on the floor, Grimes is no longer a starting fantasy option. In fact, he should be dropped from fantasy rosters altogether.

Luka Doncic Sat Nov 16 10:50am

Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (knee) is expected to play in Saturday night's game against the Spurs. It seems Doncic has been listed on the injury report for something all season. However, he hasn't missed a game. With that in mind, the 25-year-old has averaged nearly a triple-double versus San Antonio throughout his career (21 games), making him not only a must-start in redraft formats, but also a top DFS option on Saturday night.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Sat Nov 16 2:40am

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) is expected to suit up for Saturday's game versus the Hornets. The Freak is coming off a strong 59-point effort in Wednesday's overtime victory over the Pistons. He also had 14 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and two steals in that one. With Damian Lillard (concussion) still out and Bobby Portis (elbow) doubtful, fantasy managers can expect Antetokounmpo to get more scoring opportunities, assuming he plays. Still, it will be difficult for him to match his level of production from Wednesday night.

Miles Bridges Sat Nov 16 2:40am

Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges (knee) is questionable for Saturday's meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks. The 26-year-old has struggled this season, averaging 14.6 points and shooting a career-low 26.7% from behind the arc. With that said, there's a good chance he won't return from his three-game absence on Saturday, although the questionable tag at least suggests he's moving in the right direction. In the meantime, Grant Williams, averaging 10.0 points, 3.5 boards, and 44.4% shooting from downtown, is worth starting in deeper fantasy formats. However, Bridges' absence should mean the most to LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, who are both in line to see a significant bump in scoring chances.

Damian Lillard Sat Nov 16 2:30am

Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard (concussion) won't play on Saturday afternoon against the Charlotte Hornets. The multi-time All-Star will miss his third-straight contest, so his next chance to return to the floor will be on Monday against the Houston Rockets. Without question, Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee), coming off a 59-point performance in Wednesday's overtime win over the Detroit Pistons, should continue to see more scoring chances. The same can be said for Taurean Prince, who had 15 points in that one. On the other hand, Delon Wright, who started on Wednesday night but finished without a point, can be left out of any fantasy lineup until he proves he's capable of taking advantage of his expanded workload.

Bobby Portis Sat Nov 16 2:30am

Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis (elbow) is listed as doubtful heading into Saturday's game versus the Charlotte Hornets. He wasn't available for Milwaukee's overtime win over the Detroit Pistons. As a result, Taurean Prince received 45 minutes of action, ending the evening with 15 points and 10 rebounds. If Portis remains on the shelf on Saturday, Prince is worth consideration for fantasy lineups. The 30-year-old could also remain a top DFS value option, even more so with Damian Lillard (concussion) missing his third-consecutive contest.

De'Aaron Fox Sat Nov 16 1:00am

Sacramento's G De'Aaron Fox scored 60 points on 22-of-35 shooting in a 126-130 loss to the Timberwolves on Friday, Nov. 15.

Alperen Sengun Sat Nov 16 1:00am

Rockets' C Alperen Sengun recorded a triple-double, finishing with 16 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds in a 125-104 win over the Clippers on Friday, Nov. 15.

Anthony Davis Sat Nov 16 1:00am

Los Angeles Lakers' F Anthony Davis recorded a double-double, scoring 40 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a 120-115 win over San Antonio on Friday, Nov. 15.

LeBron James Sat Nov 16 1:00am

Los Angeles Lakers' F LeBron James recorded a triple-double, finishing with 15 points, 12 assists and 16 rebounds in a 120-115 win over San Antonio on Friday, Nov. 15.

Cameron Thomas Sat Nov 16 1:00am

Nets' G Cameron Thomas scored 43 points on 16-of-22 shooting in a 122-124 loss to New York on Friday, Nov. 15.

Vlatko Cancar Fri Nov 15 7:00pm

The Denver Nuggets announced forward Vlatko Cancar (ankle) will suit up for Friday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Cancar has been dealing with a right-ankle sprain that has kept him off the court for the last nine games. The 27-year-old grabbed one rebound in two minutes during the only game he's played in this regular season. He will likely see a lot of playing time in his return, as Nikola Jokic(personal) andAaron Gordon(calf) are both sidelined.

Jusuf Nurkic Fri Nov 15 6:30pm

According to Thunder reporter Nick Gallo, Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic (ankle) is available for Friday's contest with Oklahoma City. Nurkic will be in the Suns lineup for the second consecutive game after missing one due to an ankle issue. In Wednesday's loss to Sacramento, the big man collected three points, one assist, 11 rebounds and three steals in 22 minutes. WithKevin Durant(calf) still sidelined, Nurkic is a must-start in fantasy as there will be plenty of scoring opportunities up for grabs.

Grayson Allen Fri Nov 15 6:20pm

According to Thunder reporter Nick Gallo, Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen (hamstring) will not play against Oklahoma City on Friday due to right hamstring soreness. Allen participated in the team's morning shootaround but will be sidelined for the second straight game. WithKevin Durant(calf) andBradley Beal(calf) also unable to suit up, several players like Royce O'Neale, Ryan Dunn and Josh Okogie will likely see increased minutes.

Rui Hachimura Fri Nov 15 5:50pm

Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports that Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the San Antonio Spurs due to a sprained right ankle. If Hachimura is unable to play, it will mark the second game he has missed this season. Cam Reddish and Dalton Knecht will likely receive increased playing time in his absence.
