Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said that the team will likely give quarterback Will Levis (shoulder) one more week to heal from an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder. Nothing is official as of Wednesday, but the Titans appear to be leaning toward giving Mason Rudolph a second straight start in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The 25-year-old needs rest more than anything, although he was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to make the start next week against the visiting New England Patriots. The second-year signal-caller has completed 66.4% of his pass attempts through five games in 2024 but has made plenty of questionable decisions and has only five touchdowns and seven interceptions. The good news is the Titans continue to say that Levis is their starter when fully healthy.
From RotoBaller
Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (hamstring) was limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Spears missed practice all week and did not suit up for the Week 7 loss against the Buffalo Bills, but his return to practice to kick off the week on Wednesday is a good sign for his potential return this Sunday against the Detroit Lions. There was some thought that Spears would have a bigger share of the backfield workload in 2024 alongside Tony Pollard, but that wasn't really the case in his first five games played. Spears has 33 rushing attempts for 114 yards (3.5 yards per carry) and one touchdown while adding 12 receptions for 76 yards. Spears figures to be the No. 2 behind Pollard as a change of pace if he returns to the field on Sunday, but he'll be nothing more than a low-upside RB3/flex in PPR formats.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie running back Bucky Irving (toe) was listed as a non-participant for the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. The Buccaneers did not actually practice on Wednesday after losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, so Irving's status was an estimation. We should have a better idea of whether the 22-year-old will be able to play in Week 8 against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons in the next two days. In Rachaad White's return on Monday, Irving played 36% of the offensive snaps to White's 47% and had 12 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown. White had four more touches and scored twice through the air. Irving should remain involved in Tampa's backfield moving forward, giving him RB3/flex appeal on a weekly basis, but Sean Tucker could see more run this Sunday if Irving is limited or out.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver Jordan Whittington (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday and was officially ruled out for the team's Thursday night showdown against the Minnesota Vikings. Whittington, a sixth-round pick out of Texas back in April, didn't exactly take advantage of both Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) being in four games fantasy-wise, as he caught 16 of 21 targets for 179 yards and no touchdowns during that span. Kupp is returning on Thursday night and Nacua could, too, which essentially wrecks the deep-league streaming appeal Whittington might have had. The 24-year-old was active in the Week 7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders but played only nine offensive snaps and will now look to get healthy for a Week 9 contest against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Flowers picked up the injury in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Given his quick and "twitchy" style of play, an ankle injury could seriously dampen Flowers' outlook this week if he is able to suit up. Flowers has been boom or bust in 2024. He has scored at least 19 fantasy points in three games and 11.1 or less points in every other game. The Ravens offense can win through the air and on the ground which has affected Flowers week-to-week. Flowers also now has legitimate target competition with the reemergence of tight end Mark Andrews and the emergence of wide receiver Rashod Bateman as a downfield threat. With the Ravens headed into a Week 8 matchup against the lowly Cleveland Browns, Flowers could have a chance for a nice game. The once-stout Browns defense is now No. 27 against opposing wide receivers in fantasy. Keep an eye on Flowers' status as the week progresses and stash Bateman just in case.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley (right shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. Huntley left the Dolphins' Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts with the injury. Huntley has filled in for the injured Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) over the Dolphins' last three games. He has thrown for 377 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Dolphins offense has stalled without Tagovailoa. Wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle (quad) have not provided any fantasy value. While it is unfortunate that Huntley is injured, it does appear that the Dolphins are on track to getting Tagovailoa back in the lineup in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals. Fantasy managers should monitor the practice participation of both Huntley and Tagovailoa throughout the week.
From RotoBaller
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (quad) was limited in practice on Wednesday. Waddle is no stranger to the injury report but it would be best to keep an eye on the situation as we head into the weekend. With the Dolphins hoping to start quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals, Waddle would see a huge boost in potential fantasy production. Waddle has all but disappeared without Tagovailoa in the lineup. He has not exceeded 8.6 fantasy points in a game since Week 1 when Tagovailoa last played a full game. In the five games since, Waddle has only caught 17 passes for 160 yards. He also has not caught a touchdown this season. He has been completely unplayable but things are looking up. Luckily Waddle was able to participate in practice in some capacity so for now there is no immediate worry about his status for Sunday's game. However, fantasy managers should still monitor the situation on Thursday and Friday.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (hip) did not practice on Wednesday. Jennings missed the 49ers' Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs already. The 49ers are hopeful that they can get him back in Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers are thin at wide receiver. Brandon Aiyuk (knee) is done for the year and Deebo Samuel Sr. (wrist/illness) is questionable for this week. Jennings has proven he can be an excellent fill-in. With Samuel out in Week 3, Jennings caught 11 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns. He projects to be the 49ers' No. 2 wide receiver moving forward. While it is still early in the week, it is never too soon to look at who may be affected by Jennings' absence. Rookie wide receivers Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing would undoubtedly see more opportunities in the absence of Jennings. For now, keep a close eye on Jennings' status as we approach the weekend.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (wrist/illness) did not practice on Wednesday. Samuel has been battling a wrist injury for a couple of weeks and he was limited to four snaps in Week 7 for what was described as a "pneumonia-like" illness. Samuel was even hospitalized with fluid in his lungs and was released on Tuesday. It sounds like Samuel is back with the team this week which is a good sign that his recovery is going well. Head Coach Kyle Shanahan has remained non-committal on Samuel's status for the weekend. However, the hope is that Samuel will be able to play against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8. If he can play, then Deebo is in line for a huge workload. None of the 49ers' main weapons practiced on Wednesday. Someone will need to catch passes for this team and should have a good time doing so against a lackluster Cowboys defense. In Samuel's five full games in 2024 he has recorded 335 receiving yards and a touchdown. He also has 51 rushing yards and a touchdown.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. Kittle has a sprained foot and is considered day-to-day. Veterans with various ailments are often permitted a day off on Wednesdays so Kittle's practice participation will need to be monitored as the weekend approaches. With the 49ers nursing several injuries, they will need all hands on deck. Kittle has been awesome in 2024. He currently sits as the TE2 with 375 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Despite the 49ers' ups and downs this season, Kittle is still on his way to a monster season. The 49ers play the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8 in what should be a high-scoring affair. With so many weapons down for the 49ers, Kittle may literally be the last man standing. Presuming he is able to suit up this weekend, Kittle should be a smash start once again.
From RotoBaller
Despite the fact that Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley (foot) did not practice on Wednesday, Paul Kuharsky reports that the expectation is that Ridley will return to practice on Thursday and be good to go for Sunday's Week 8 contest against the Detroit Lions. The 29-year-old pass catcher was only able to haul in three of his team-leading nine targets for 42 yards in last week's blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills with quarterback Mason Rudolph making the start. He just hasn't been able to make much of an impact in a Titans offense that has struggled to move the ball consistently under second-year QB Will Levis (shoulder). Rudolph doesn't give Ridley much more upside heading into his second straight start against Detroit, although Hopkins leaving town in a trade doesn't hurt. Through six games in 2024, Ridley ranks 73rd among wideouts with 6.5 half-PPR points per game.
From RotoBaller
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (hand) revealed on Wednesday that he suffered a broken hand in the Week 5 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. That's also the same game that quarterback Derek Carr suffered an oblique injury that will cause him to miss a third straight game in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Kamara has played the last two games with his hand injury, but the Saints offense has cratered with Carr out, and Kamara has 20 carries for 50 yards (2.50 yards per carry) and a touchdown on the ground during that span. Things won't get any easier for the 29-year-old, who ranks second behind Derrick Henry this year in overall fantasy points for RBs, going into a matchup this Sunday against the Chargers. Kamara has fallen to RB2 territory in fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts wide receivers Michael Pittman Jr. (back) and Josh Downs (toe) were both not seen at practice on Wednesday. Pittman and Downs were also rested last Wednesday, so as long as they return to practice on Thursday or Friday, it seems likely they'll both be active for Week 8 against the division-rival Houston Texans after they both played in the Week 7 win over the Miami Dolphins. Pittman nearly went on Injured Reserve initially after sustaining a back injury, so it's an injury that he could be playing through for a while. He played 89% of the offensive snaps last Sunday and caught three passes for 63 yards in quarterback Anthony Richardson's return. Downs had just one catch for three yards. Given Richardson's inconsistency as a passer early in his career, both Pittman and Downs figure to be more volatile from a fantasy standpoint.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt (hip) is on the Week 8 injury report and was listed as limited in Wednesday's practice. Hunt never appeared to be injured in the Week 7 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, suggesting he's in no real danger of missing the Week 8 divisional clash against the Las Vegas Raiders. Fantasy managers will still want to keep an eye on his status the rest of the week. If the 29-year-old's status ends up being in question this weekend, rookie Carson Steele and Samaje Perine would split backfield duties for KC in an excellent matchup. Hunt saw 22 carries against San Fran and went for 78 yards and two rushing touchdowns. As long as Isiah Pacheco (leg) remains on Injured Reserve, Hunt should be a must-start in fantasy lineups as long as he's active.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (knee) will not practice on Wednesday or Thursday according to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. The 26-year-old suffered a knee injury during Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Metcalf was originally deemed week-to-week but could still suit up this weekend. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to Friday's injury report as Metcalf will likely carry an injury designation into the weekend. Metcalf as enjoyed a strong start to the campaign as he has scored at least 17.0 PPR points in four out of the seven games he has played in this season. If he is able to suit up this weekend he should be started in all formats as a high-end WR2. If he cannot play, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba should see an increase in targets.
From RotoBaller
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday according to Dave Zangaro of NBCS Philadelphia. Goedert did not play in last weekend's game due to a hamstring injury he suffered during Week 6. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status during the week as he still has two more opportunities to participate in practice before the weekend. If Goedert is able to play on Sunday, he should be viewed as a low-end TE1 facing a Cincinnati defense who has allowed the 29th-most points to opposing tight ends. If he cannot play, fantasy managers should expect both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith to see the vast majority of targets in the Philadelphia air attack.
From RotoBaller
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) was at Wednesday's practice, according to Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Football Network. Olave was sidelined last week with a concussion. This is a great sign to see him return to practice, however, the 24-year-old will need to pass concussion protocol before he can officially return to game action. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status throughout the week. If Olave is able to return this weekend, he should be started in all formats as a WR2 facing a tough Los Angeles Chargers defense that has allowed the second-fewest PPR points to opposing wideouts. Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler will make another start as well, which will make Olave more volatile.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee) was officially placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The 26-year-old suffered a torn ACL and MCL in last Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season. As a result, Deebo Samuel Sr. (illness), Jauan Jennings (hip) and rookie Ricky Pearsall are expected to lead the wide receiver room for the remainder of the season. However, Samuel left last game early due to pneumonia and is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, which could open up a larger role for Jennings, Pearsall and rookie Jacob Cowing. Fantasy managers looking to add a receiver with upside for high volume should check their waiver wire for both Jennings and Pearsall, as they should have a profound role in the offense going forward.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Vikings, according to Adam Grosbard of the O.C. Register. Nacua has been sidelined since leaving the season opener early with a PCL sprain and has a chance to return to the field as early as this week. Nacua was able to log two limited practice sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, which is a positive sign for his status. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor him ahead of Thursday's game. If the 23-year-old is able to suit up, he should be locked into all lineups while facing a Minnesota secondary that has allowed the most PPR points to opposing wideouts this season. If he is unable to play, Cooper Kupp (ankle) should be expected to see a heavy dose of targets with Tutu Atwelland Demarcus Robinson operating as the No. 2 and No. 3 options.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) is off the injury report and is expected to play on Thursday evening according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Kupp has been sidelined since Week 3 after suffering an ankle injury during the second week of the season. In the season opener, the former Super Bowl MVP caught an impressive 14 receptions for 110 yards and a score off 21 targets. Before leaving early in Week 2, Kupp brought in four of his six targets. Fantasy managers should feel confident starting the 31-year-old in all formats on Thursday night as he should see a hefty target share and have top-10 positional upside in PPR formats facing a Minnesota defense who has allowed the most points to opposing wideouts.
