Dominic Lovett Jul 31 11:50pm ET
    Dominic Lovett

Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Dominic Lovett was targeted nine times during his team's 34-7 preseason loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, hauling in five catches for 31 yards. The 22-year-old also featured prominently on special teams, returning a kick for 22 yards and a punt for 19. A seventh-round pick out of Georgia, Lovett recorded 59 catches for 607 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games with the Bulldogs last season. He figures to be competing with veteran Kalif Raymond for Detroit's WR4/return specialist role. Raymond has been a steady contributor across four seasons in Detroit heading into 2025, but he's entering his age-31 season, and his 17 catches in 2024 were his fewest since 2020. Lovett would need multiple injuries in the Lions' receiver room to be fantasy relevant in 2025, but a strong preseason could assure him of a roster spot.

Isaac TeSlaa Jul 31 11:40pm ET
    Isaac TeSlaa

Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa hauled in two of three targets for 46 yards receiving in his preseason debut with the team, a 34-7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Drafted in the third round out of Arkansas, TeSlaa recorded 28 catches for 545 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games for the Razorbacks last season. He's earned praise from Lions coaches and beat reports alike for his work so far in training camp, but TeSlaa faces stiff competition for playing time as a rookie in Detroit. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams are locked in as the team's top two wide receivers, and Tim Patrick and Kalif Raymond are both steady veterans who have played key roles in previous years. TeSlaa profiles most similarly to Patrick as a big-bodied outside receiver, and could be the Lions' succession plan at the position with Patrick currently signed to a one-year contract.

Craig Reynolds Jul 31 11:30pm ET
    Craig Reynolds

Detroit Lions running back Craig Reynolds led his team in rushing yards during the team's 34-7 preseason loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night. Reynolds finished with 10 carries for 38 yards and one touchdown as a rusher, adding one catch for 10 yards as a receiver. The 29-year-old running back is entering his seventh NFL season and has been with Detroit since 2021. In 34 games for the Lions since the start of 2023, Reynolds has logged 72 carries for 318 yards and one touchdown. He appears to be fairly locked into the RB3 role in Detroit behind Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. Reynolds would need an injury to one of those two backs to be relevant in fantasy, and even then, he would likely be a fringe flex option at best.

Kyle Allen Jul 31 11:20pm ET
    Kyle Allen

Detroit Lions quarterback Kyle Allen had a rough night in his first preseason appearance with the team against the Los Angeles Chargers. Allen started the game and played the entire first half, finishing 9-for-14 through the air for 91 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. The 29-year-old is competing with Hendon Hooker for the backup job behind Jared Goff in Detroit. Allen has played for five teams in his seven-year NFL career, appearing in 31 games (19 starts). For his career, he's completed 62.7% of his 705 career pass attempts for 4,753 yards with 26 touchdowns and 21 interceptions. Without a proven backup quarterback in place, an injury to Goff would significantly impact the outlook of Detroit's skill-position players.

    From RotoBaller

Hendon Hooker Jul 31 11:20pm ET
    Hendon Hooker

Detroit Lions quarterback Hendon Hooker struggled in his 2025 preseason debut, a 34-7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Hooker played the entire second half and finished three-for-six through the air for 18 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and an interception. Hooker was also sacked twice for a loss of five total yards. A third-round pick out of Tennessee in the 2023 draft, Hooker has failed to nail down the backup job in Detroit behind Jared Goff as he enters the third year of his career. Hooker is battling veteran Kyle Allen for the role heading into 2025, and it was Allen who earned the start in the Lions' first preseason game. While he will certainly get more chances throughout the remainder of the preseason, it's clear Hooker has more work to do to earn the trust of his coaching staff.

Jaxson Dart Jul 31 9:50pm ET
    Jaxson Dart

New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart completed his first seven passes in the team's move-the-ball period and "looks like a different QB from the first few practices of camp," according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic. A first-round selection out of Ole Miss, Dart completed 69.3% of his passes while throwing for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns in 13 games last season for the Rebels. Russell Wilson will be the Giants' starter at quarterback to begin the season, so Dart is competing with veteran Jameis Winston for the primary backup job. If all goes well for New York, 2025 will be a developmental year for Dart, and he won't be forced into game action as a rookie.

Spencer Brown Jul 31 9:40pm ET
    Spencer Brown

The Buffalo Bills have activated right tackle Spencer Brown (back) from the active/physically unable to perform list, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. Brown had been held out of training camp practices due to a "flare-up" of his back. The 27-year-old has started 46 games over the past three seasons for Buffalo and signed a four-year contract extension off his rookie deal with the team last September. Pro Football Focus graded him as the 14th-best run-blocker out of 140 qualified tackles in 2024, so his presence is a crucial part of Buffalo's dominant rushing attack. Brown appears to have avoided a significant injury, but the health of his back will be something to monitor throughout the remainder of training camp.

    From RotoBaller

Tahj Brooks Jul 31 9:30pm ET
    Tahj Brooks

Cincinnati Bengals rookie running back Tahj Brooks has reportedly "turned heads in camp" and has a clear path to the team's RB2 role after Cincinnati released veteran running back Zack Moss on Wednesday. A sixth-round pick out of Texas Tech, Brooks gained 1,704 yards from scrimmage and scored 18 touchdowns in just 11 games for the Red Raiders in 2024. The Bengals have Chase Brown entrenched as their starter at running back, so Brooks will be battling veterans Samaje Perine and Gary Brightwell for the RB2 role. Perine is known for his third-down work as a pass-catcher and pass-protector, which could earn him the job early in the season. Brooks may need an injury to Brown to see enough playing time to make an impact in fantasy, but he could be an intriguing late-round handcuff option.

Michael Pittman Jr. Jul 31 9:20pm ET
    Michael Pittman Jr.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (groin) returned to practice on Thursday, according to James Boyd of The Athletic. Pittman Jr. tweaked his groin during the team's training camp practice on Tuesday. The 27-year-old played 16 games through a fracture in his lower back in 2024, so he's surely hoping to get to the 2025 season as healthy as possible. Pittman Jr. finished last season with 69 catches for 808 yards and three touchdowns, each of which was his lowest total since his rookie season in 2020. He and third-year slot receiver Josh Downs are the top two target earners in the Colts' offense. Pittman Jr.'s fantasy viability depends heavily on the level of quarterback play Indianapolis can squeeze out of the combination of Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones.

KaVontae Turpin Jul 31 7:50pm ET
    KaVontae Turpin

Dallas Cowboys' wide receiver KaVontae Turpin has been a focal point in the offense during Thursday's practice. With the dynamic duo of George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb soaking up a lot of the defensive attention, Turpin might prove to be a bright spot in the offense this year. After posting his best year yet in the offense, he will look to make more of an impact on offense as he shined in some special teams opportunities last year while recording 47 touches on offense through catches and carries. With Turpin's 4.31 40-yard dash speed, we'll see what he can do to contribute this year to Dallas this season.

Justin Herbert Jul 31 7:50pm ET
    Justin Herbert

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is studying Josh Allen's play style and is looking to create more plays this season. As per the Dan Patrick Show, Herbert mentioned, "What I respect about him [Josh Allen] is he's able to run power between the tackles. He's able to take the hits and deliver the hits." It sounds like Justin Herbert is aspiring to be a more physical runner after taking a career-high 69 rushing attempts last season. With a body similar to Allen's at 6-foot-6 and 236 lbs., this could be a realistic approach to increase his production. Herbert running more would only boost his fantasy value and comes in at QB17 in the latest RotoBaller draft rankings.

Terry McLaurin Jul 31 7:10pm ET
    Terry McLaurin

Washington Commanders all-pro wide receiver Terry McLaurin requested a trade on Thursday after contract discussions fell through. McLaurin has been vocal about receiving an extension this year after delivering a career year in the 2024 season. Outside of McLaurin's rookie year, he has delivered over 1,000 yards receiving in every season he's played and remained a healthy option for the Commanders. With star quarterback Jayden Daniels entering the fold, this will be big news that can impact his play and McLaurin's after they connected for 13 passing touchdowns in 2024. As he enters his age-30 season, we will see if the Commanders work harder to get a deal done or decide to ship him off before his final contracted year.

Andy Isabella Jul 31 6:40pm ET
    Andy Isabella

Free agent wide receiver Andy Isabella inked a deal with the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday. The 49ers will technically be Isabella's fifth team in the NFL after bouncing around practice squads for the past few years. Isabella will add extra depth with injuries seemingly popping up left and right in the 49ers' wide receiver room. The former 62nd overall pick of the 2019 draft has put up career stats of 33 receptions for 447 yards and three touchdowns. After compiling the majority of these statistics during his first two years in the league with the Arizona Cardinals, Isabella will look to revamp his career in San Francisco.

    From RotoBaller

Trey Palmer Jul 31 6:30pm ET
    Trey Palmer

Tampa Bay wide receiver Trey Palmer (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring injury that is holding him out of training camp. Going into his third year in the NFL, Palmer has typically been a depth chart filler on the Bucs, and they just added rookie Emeka Egbuka in the 2025 draft after Jalen McMillan already leaped past him on the depth chart in the 2024 season. Still on his rookie deal, Palmer is signed through the 2026 season and will need all of the reps he can get to compete with the newcomers on the depth chart for future upside. With the massive depth chart in Tampa Bay, Palmer will likely remain off the fantasy radar for now.

Jordan James Jul 31 6:00pm ET
    Jordan James

San Francisco 49ers rookie running back Jordan James (knee) missed training camp practice on Thursday with what head coach Kyle Shanahan called "knee issues." Before missing practice on Thursday, a report recently surfaced that the 21-year-old fifth-rounder had been impressing the coaching staff at camp. As long as his knee issues don't hinder him too much further, James will have a chance to lock down the RB3 duties in San Francisco behind the oft-injured Christian McCaffrey and Isaac Guerendo, although the team did just sign veteran Ameer Abdullah on Thursday. James stands at 5-foot-10, 205 pounds and doesn't have overwhelming speed as an average pass-catcher. In redraft fantasy leagues, the rookie RB will be left to the waiver wire but could be a priority waiver-wire addition if both CMC and Guerendo miss time.

Braelon Allen Jul 31 5:40pm ET
    Braelon Allen

New York Jets running back Braelon Allen (knee) missed his second straight day of training camp practice on Thursday with knee soreness, according to the Jets' official site. There's no indication that Allen's knee issue is serious, but it has allowed Isaiah Davis to get some more reps in the backfield the last two days. The 21-year-old Allen is "bigger, faster and stronger" in camp this summer as he looks to carve out a bigger role next to lead back Breece Hall. Allen had been a standout in practices before sitting out a couple days this week, and his potential increased involvement in the Jets' backfield in 2025 is a big reason why some folks are naming Hall as a potential RB bust. Right now he's ranked as the RB51 in fantasy, don't rule out the Wisconsin product having a role as both a pass-catcher and short-yardage/goal-line back.

    From RotoBaller

Jaydon Blue Jul 31 5:20pm ET
    Jaydon Blue

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer had more good things to say about rookie running back Jaydon Blue at training camp on Thursday. "He's electric when he gets the ball," Schottenheimer said. Blue, a fifth-round selection this April, has quickly distanced himself from a report before training camp suggesting the 21-year-old RB was "borderline lazy." Since then, he's done nothing but impress with "good burn" and elite speed and pass-catching ability as he competes for playing time in 2025. He's also seen work with the first-team offense and didn't disappoint. Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders came into camp as the favorites for most of the early-season touches, but Dallas may be re-evaluating that right now. Blue's fantasy stock is most definitely on the rise and he should be a popular late-round dart throw at RB.

    From RotoBaller

Miles Sanders Jul 31 5:20pm ET
    Miles Sanders

Dallas Cowboys running back Miles Sanders (knee) did not practice on Thursday at training camp due to a slight bruise to his left knee, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Sanders was seen wearing a compression sleeve on his knee on Thursday. It shouldn't be an injury that keeps the 28-year-old out for long, but it's notable as he competes for a role in Dallas' backfield this year alongside Javonte Williams and rookie Jaydon Blue. For what it's worth, Sanders has been a standout early in camp, but Blue has been even more impressive. Sanders has the ability to succeed as a ball-carrier and pass-catcher, but he tanked in his two seasons with the Carolina Panthers in 2023 and 2024 and will have lots of competition for backfield touches in his first year with Dallas. Of the three RBs in Dallas, Sanders might be the least appealing from a fantasy perspective.

    From RotoBaller

Cam Skattebo Jul 31 5:10pm ET
    Cam Skattebo

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo (undisclosed) did not take part in Thursday's training camp practice with an undisclosed injury, according to The Athletic's Dan Duggan. Duggan added that the injury is "likely minor." It's probably nothing to be overly concerned about unless Skattebo doesn't get back on the field soon. The 23-year-old is slow for an NFL running back but has impressed as a pass-catcher early in camp this summer. Skattebo is not going to have a huge role in his first season in the NFL as long as Tyrone Tracy Jr. misses time with an injury, but he could have a role on pass-catching downs in 2025. The fourth-rounder out of Arizona State makes up for his lack of speed with power and short-area explosiveness. Fantasy managers should target him as more of an RB3/flex in PPR leagues, but if Tracy were to miss time, Skattebo would be an extremely valuable asset.
