Trey Hendrickson Jul 29 12:10pm CT
    Trey Hendrickson

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard (knee) left Sunday's training camp practice with a knee injury and underwent an MRI on Sunday night, but a source said the test results were good and Hubbard should be OK. While Hubbard could sit out a few days at camp, he should be fine for the start of the 2024 regular season after an injury scare on Sunday in which he was carted off. The 29-year-old pass-rusher is the team's second-best defensive end behind Trey Hendrickson, but he can still be a streamer in IDP fantasy leagues in the right matchups. The former third-round pick (77th overall) in 2018 out of Ohio State has had at least six sacks in all but one of his six NFL seasons and racked up 58 tackles (38 solo), six sacks, seven tackles for loss and 17 QB hits in 15 regular-season starts in 2023.

Jerod Mayo Jul 29 12:10pm CT
    Jerod Mayo

New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon appears to be holding in at training camp as he seeks a new long-term contract extension. On the first day of padded practices on Monday, Judon showed up in a sweatshirt, chatted with head coach Jerod Mayo for a while and then left the main field. The Patriots and Judon appear to be far apart on a contract extension. The 31-year-old is currently scheduled to make $6.5 million in 2024 in the final year of his current deal. A torn biceps caused Judon to miss the final 13 games of last season, but he made four straight Pro Bowls before last year, including a career-high 15.5 sacks and 60 tackles (36 solo) in 17 games (15 starts) for the Pats in 2022. The former fifth-round pick in 2016 by the Baltimore Ravens out of Grand Valley State combined for 28 sacks in 2021 and 2022 and could be back on the IDP fantasy radar this year if he proves he's fully healthy.

    Ja'Marr Chase Jul 29 11:50am CT
    Ja'Marr Chase

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has missed his fourth consecutive practice and has yet to participate in 2024 training camp. Instead of a traditional "hold out," Chase is engaging in a "hold in," as he needed to report to camp on time to complete an entire season under his rookie contract. Although he is present at camp, he is not participating in drills while negotiating a new deal following this offseason's surge in receiver salaries, highlighted by Justin Jefferson's record-setting $35 million per year contract. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has stated that the situation aligns with their plan and that he and Chase are on the same page. Chase will earn under $5 million this season and approximately $21 million on his fifth-year option next year. As long as Chase stays in shape, maintains his conditioning, and has sufficient time to prepare for the regular season, his current absence from practice should not significantly impact his performance or the team. Despite the hold-in, Chase remains a surefire first-round pick and is currently going around the sixth pick in recent NFFC drafts.

Demetric Felton Jul 29 11:50am CT
    Demetric Felton

The Chicago Bears signed running back Demetric Felton to a contract on Sunday. Felton, a former sixth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2021 out of UCLA, has appeared in 24 games since his debut and has accumulated 209 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on 28 touches. This signing likely aims to bolster the running back depth ahead of Thursday's Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, especially since Travis Homer and Ian Wheeler were injured in Saturday's practice. To make room for Felton, the Bears granted an international roster exemption to punter Tory Taylor, who does not count against the 90-man roster limit. This exemption will not affect the 53-man roster limit, which will come into play when the Bears make final roster cuts.

Free-agent DB Bobby McCain (Giants) signed with the Minnesota Vikings, according to sources Monday, July 29.

Rhamondre Stevenson Jul 29 11:40am CT
    Rhamondre Stevenson

New England Patriots running back Terrell Jennings (undisclosed) debuted at training camp on Sunday after passing his physical, and he was activated from the active/PUP list. The Patriots had previously placed Jennings on the PUP list, raising concerns about his chances of making the team. Jennings, 23, joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent following a rookie minicamp tryout. A Florida A&M alum, Jennings played 45 college games and accumulated 381 carries for 1,754 yards and 24 touchdowns. Antonio Gibson (undisclosed) also returned to camp on Sunday, marking the first time this preseason that all of New England's running backs are healthy. With Jennings and Gibson back, the Patriots running back group now includes six players: starter Rhamondre Stevenson, Kevin Harris, JaMycal Hasty, and Deshaun Fenwick. Jennings aims to secure a roster spot behind Stevenson and Gibson, giving him a slim to none chance of being fantasy-relevant anytime soon.

Justin Fields Jul 29 11:40am CT
    Justin Fields

The Pittsburgh Steelers are "open-minded" about the possibility of Justin Fields winning the starting quarterback role this summer. Although Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin suggested in March that Russell Wilson (calf) was in the leading position for the job, he did not wholly dismiss Fields as a contender. Tomlin decided to rest Wilson after a calf injury sustained during the team's conditioning test on Wednesday, prioritizing caution. Despite Wilson's more impressive resume, Fields offers considerable potential. The former Bears quarterback has demonstrated his dual-threat capabilities, rushing for over 1,100 yards two years agosomething new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith will likely appreciate. While Fields might be a downgrade for the overall passing game in Pittsburgh, he has proven capable of supporting a top fantasy wide receiver, so George Pickens should remain a solid option. The more significant impact might be on Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren, as Fields could reduce their rushing opportunities.

Matthew Stafford Jul 29 11:30am CT
    Matthew Stafford

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has agreed to revised terms on his contract, including an additional $5 million this year. The funds were shifted from a future contract and a $4 million guaranteed roster bonus for the following year. This change follows Stafford's push for more guaranteed money and ensures his participation in the Rams' training camp. The Rams did not extend Stafford's original four-year, $160 million deal signed in 2022, which remains in effect through the 2026 season. Stafford still has three years left on his contract but only $31 million in guaranteed salary for this year, with none guaranteed in the final two seasons. After a challenging start last season and a thumb injury that caused him to miss one game, Stafford ended strong, throwing for 16 touchdowns and only four interceptions in his last seven regular-season starts, strengthening his case for additional guaranteed funds. Stafford has all his weapons coming back in 2024 and is a strong QB2 in superflex leagues.

Kendrick Bourne Jul 29 11:30am CT
    Kendrick Bourne

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (knee) is making good progress in his recovery, returning to practice while still on the PUP list. Bourne tore his right ACL in the Patriots' loss to the Dolphins on October 29, 2023. Given that he is just under nine months post-injury, the expectation was that he wouldn't be ready for the start of training camp. Although he returned to the field in uniform for the first time this offseason, he participated without a helmet or shoulder pads. Before his injury, Bourne was the team's leading wide receiver and appeared to be having his best season yet. However, New England's wide receiver position is much more competitive this year. With Demario Douglas looking to step up, JuJu Smith-Schuster still on the roster, K.J. Osborn added via free agency, and rookies Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker joining through the draft, the Patriots have a deep pool of wideout options. Bourne must prove his health and earn his place in the passing game again.

Carolina Panthers LB Shaq Thompson (illness) is out of practice Monday, July 29, with an illness.

    From TheHuddle

James Cook Jul 29 8:40am CT
    James Cook

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook missed practice on Sunday due to a personal matter and has returned on Monday morning. His absence was excused on Sunday, so the likely starting running back is back on the field. Cook posted 1122 yards on 237 attempts and two touchdowns on the ground and 445 yards on 44 receptions with four scores. He had plenty of goal-line chances stolen by Josh Allen quarterback keepers, so Cook does have the potential to find the endzone a bit more this season. As of right now, Rotoballer has him ranked as the 15th-best RB in PPR formats. He'll see most of the groundwork with Ty Johnson as his main backup.

Tyquan Thornton Jul 29 8:20am CT
    Tyquan Thornton

New England Patriots wide receiver Tyquan Thornton has added some muscle to his frame as he heads into a pivotal third season. The former second-round pick has had difficulty staying healthy enough to complete a full season as he's appeared in 22 games across two seasons so far. His speed is what brought his name to the forefront, but after being one of the thinnest receivers for his size at 6'2, he's now reportedly up to 192 pounds. He'll try to fend off any further shoulder injuries while he competes to get out of the roster bubble and into the receiver depth chart.

    From RotoBaller

Bucky Irving Jul 29 8:20am CT
    Bucky Irving

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving has been transitioning seamlessly into the team's offensive scheme so far in training camp. According to Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers, Irving's scheme familiarity with Oregon's offense has given him the leg up in getting acclimated to what the Bucs want to do this year. His versatility on the ground and through the air has allowed him to excel in many areas of the offense. Even though Rachaad White seems to be the number-one back, Irving looks like he could get plenty of snaps, especially in pass-catching situations.

Jordan Addison Jul 29 8:00am CT
    Jordan Addison

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison spoke publicly on Sunday about his arrest in July for the first time. The second-year wideout vowed to "keep learning" after his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. He also said that he was "surprised by the support he received" from his teammates and coaches. Addison stated that he was in a dark place and the team helped him come out of it and return to the field at a high level. Head coach Kevin O'Connell and teammate Justin Jefferson spoke in support of Addison as well. There could still be a suspension in the near future, but Addison will be participating in training camp in the meantime.

Marshawn Kneeland Jul 29 7:50am CT
    Marshawn Kneeland

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams (knee) was confirmed to have suffered a torn ACL on Sunday. He was seen being carted off the field and a torn ACL was initially feared, but it has now been confirmed with an MRI. Williams was looking to be the first reliever for Demarcus Lawrence this season after posting 4.5 sacks, 26 total tackles (15 solo), and five tackles for loss. Marshawn Kneeland and Durrell Johnson are the next two defensive ends on the depth chart, so their performances throughout training camp will likely be closely monitored.

    From RotoBaller

Russell Wilson Jul 29 7:50am CT
    Russell Wilson

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) put in the most work he's done so far in training camp during Sunday's practice. The veteran signal-caller went through agility drills, but didn't seem to be going full speed. Justin Fields continues to take first-team snaps while Wilson recovers from the calf injury. The good news is that Wilson seems to be trending in the right direction, but it's unclear when he'll return to the field with the rest of the team. Mike Tomlin has already spoken about Fields being able to win the starting position, but it remains to be seen whether that's truly the case.

    From RotoBaller

Trevon Diggs Jul 28 6:00pm CT
    Trevon Diggs

Dallas Cowboys defensive back Trevon Diggs (knee) was recently placed on the PUP list to begin training camp. Diggs is working his way back from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 3 of last season. The veteran defensive back been a big part of this defensive unit since his 11 interception campaign in 2021. It sounds like the Cowboys are being cautious with Diggs right now. They don't want to rush anything with a serious knee injury and it being this early into camp. There doesn't appear to be much concern over Diggs availability to start the season.

    From RotoBaller

Russell Wilson Jul 28 5:50pm CT
    Russell Wilson

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson (calf) continues to miss practice after suffering an injury early in camp. Head coach Mike Tomlin continues to say it's a day-to-day issue and Wilson hasn't suffered any setbacks. On Sunday, Wilson went through a mock game scenario and threw on the side. The Steelers aren't going to rush anything this early in camp. Quarterback Justin Fields will continue getting the first-time reps, but it shouldn't be long before Wilson is back and ready to play again.

    From RotoBaller

Jalen Nailor Jul 28 5:40pm CT
    Jalen Nailor

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor has reportedly been impressing the organization early in training camp. The former sixth-round pick has done everything asked of him and continues to make a good impression. The biggest problem for Nailor has been injuries. He has been held to a total of 21 games over his first two seasons in the league. If healthy, Nailor has a real shot at earning the WR3 role on this offseason. The Vikings don't have a ton of viable options behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Right now, Nailor is competing with Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield Sr. for the third wideout job. Nailor could offer some deep league value if he's able to secure that role heading into the regular season.

    From RotoBaller

Rachaad White Jul 28 5:30pm CT
    Rachaad White

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White proved himself to be a reliable dual-threat option last season. He rushed for 990 yards while hauling in 70 receptions for 549 receiving yards in what was a successful year for the young back. It sounds like White could see different run packages under new offensive coordinator Liam Coen. It's a new system that will feature a variety of packages such as mid-zone, wide-zone, tight-zone, duo and gap runs. This new scheme could help White find more open lanes to run, which was something that was problematic last season. The Bucs did add rookie back Bucky Irving, but his presence shouldn't hinder the fantasy value of White.
