Dynasty | Seahawks rookie receiver Tory Horton caught 3-of-7 targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason opener. Dynasty Analysis: While Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp are safe on the depth chart, Horton is quickly making a run to unseat Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the pecking order. While none of the others played tonight, Horton routinely made plays and his touchdown was impressive as he broke three tackles on the way into the end zone. Horton has had a nice camp and this wasn't much of a surprise for anyone who has been following. His rookie ADP could be on the rise.
Dynasty | Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson dislocated his pinky finger in the Colts first preseason game. Dynasty Analysis: Richardson's career has been defined by him taking one step forward and two steps back and it seems it's happened yet again. After reportedly looking sharp over the past couple of weeks in practice, he's now likely going to be out for a bit. Unfortunately, that could be the opening Daniel Jones needs to take hold of the starting job. We'll see just how long he'll be out, but this isn't good for the former first rounder.
Dynasty | Colts rookie DJ Giddens had 17 yards on six carries in his NFL debut. Dynasty Analysis: Giddens is one of the more popular sleepers in dynasty ranks this off-season, but he didn't do much in this one. While Jonathan Taylor is the clear RB1 for the Colts, Giddens is certainly competing for backup duties. We'll need to see more from him the rest of the preseason to have confidence this will be anything more than a developmental year.
Dynasty | Eagles running back Will Shipley posted 48 yards on seven carries in the Eagles season opener. Dynasty Analysis: He added one catch for four yards. Shipley is apparently battling AJ Dillon (27 rushing yards and 27 receiving yards on three catches) to be the backup to Saquon Barkley. It was a solid showing for Shipley, who has reportedly been a very solid performer in camp thus far. This will be a battle to watch over the next few weeks. Shipley's dynasty value is stable at the moment.
Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren caught all three of his targets for 40 yards in a 24-16 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Warren got off to a hot start in the game, catching all three of his passes in the first quarter, including a 23-yard reception down the middle of the field to help set the Colts up for a 33-yard field goal at the end of the quarter. He came as advertised after the Colts used the 14th overall pick on Warren in the 2025 NFL draft, hauling in all three of his targets and showing physicality as a runner after the catch. While the Colts' quarterback situation is a bit concerning, Warren should settle in as a solid TE2 in fantasy in his rookie year. He will now gear up to face off against the Green Bay Packers in his team's second preseason contest, which is scheduled for next Saturday.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Ashton Dulin caught three of his seven targets for 54 yards in a 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in preseason action on Thursday. Dulin started alongside Adonai Mitchell and led the Colts in targets and receiving yards in the contest. The veteran wideout did most of his damage on a 25-yard grab from Daniel Jones in the second quarter, helping set the Colts up for a 39-yard field goal. From a fantasy perspective, Dulin is more valuable to the Colts for his skills on special teams and is unlikely to overtake any of Michael Pittman Jr, Josh Downs, or Adonai Mitchell in the wide-receiver room this season. The Colts will play their second preseason game against the Green Bay Packers next Saturday.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts running back DJ Giddens carried the ball six times for 17 yards and failed to corral his lone target in a 24-16 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday. Giddens and Tyler Goodson split the work throughout the first half of the game before ultimately giving way to Khalil Herbert at the beginning of the third quarter. Giddens finished with a long run of seven yards while averaging 2.8 yards per carry in the contest. The fifth-round rookie out of Kansas State is fighting to open the regular season as the primary backup behind Jonathan Taylor. His next chance to make an impression will come in the Colts' second preseason game, which will be next Saturday against the Green Bay Packers.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell caught two of his six targets for 37 yards in a 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in the first week of preseason action. Mitchell finished tied for second on the team in targets and third in receiving yards while playing throughout the first half of the game. The second-year receiver showed flashes at times in 2024 and has drawn positive buzz from Colts brass during training camp this year. Mitchell should open the year as the No. 2 receiver across from Michael Pittman Jr., but his fantasy production could be spotty in what is not expected to be an explosive Indianapolis passing offense. The Colts' second preseason game comes next Saturday against the Green Bay Packers.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones completed 10 of his 21 passes for 144 yards in a 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in his team's first preseason game of the year. Jones was pressed into action earlier than expected after Anthony Richardson Sr. was forced from the game with a dislocated pinky following the Colts' second possession of the contest. The Colts managed two field-goal scoring drives but no touchdowns while Jones was under center. Jones ran the offense up until halftime, giving way to rookie Riley Leonard to begin the third quarter. Richardson is being called day-to-day by the Colts, setting the stage for the camp battle between him and Jones to continue into the team's second preseason game, which will come against the Green Bay Packers next Saturday.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Seahawks running back Damien Martinez made his preseason debut on Thursday against the Raiders, but he worked well behind George Holani, who seems to have the early lead in the competition for the third running back spot in Seattle. Martinez ran for just 10 yards on his six carries and caught both his targets for 15 more yards. He added 25 yards on two kickoff returns as well. The seventh-round pick out of Miami has stepped up in pass coverage and as a receiver, which was a question mark for him coming into the draft. However, Holani seems to be firmly ahead of him on the depth chart. Martinez will look to make more of an impact and earn a roster spot in the next two weeks as the Seahawks face the Chiefs and Packers in their other two preseason contests.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Seahawks running back George Holani finished Thursday's preseason opener with a team-high 61 rushing yards on seven carries and added 20 more yards on a catch out of the backfield. He had a 24-yard rushing touchdown for the Seahawks' first score of the night, and his longest play of the game. Holani was an undrafted free agent whom Seattle added before last season out of Boise State. Holani lost the battle for a roster spot to Kenny McIntosh last season, but he looked ready to claim a spot on this year's squad with a strong opener. Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet will carry the load in the backfield, but Holani played ahead of rookie Damien Martinez and could earn his way into the running back rotation if injury strikes in Seattle.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Jalen Milroe got his first taste of NFL action on Thursday night as the Seahawks opened their preseason against the Raiders. Milroe came on in the second half after Drew Lock got the start. The rookie third-round pick from Alabama completed six of his 10 pass attempts for 61 yards and added 38 rushing yards on three carries. He led a fourth-quarter touchdown drive that culminated in a rushing touchdown by Anthony Tyus III. That score put the Seahawks up 10 points, but the Raiders came back, and the game ended as a 23-23 tie at the end of regulation. While he was a little inconsistent, the rookie had an impressive 27-yard run, which was the longest of the game for any player. At this point, it looks like Milroe is firmly behind Lock and starter Sam Darnold on the depth chart, but he has enough dynamic upside to be worth monitoring his development to see when he'll have a chance to make an impact.
From RotoBaller
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tory Horton had an impressive preseason debut on Thursday night, catching three passes for 31 yards and a touchdown, as the Seahawks and Raiders played to a 23-23 tie at Lumen Field. The rookie from Colorado State was a fifth-round pick but has been breaking out in camp, and he caught the Seahawks' second score of the game in the second quarter on a 10-yard pass from Drew Lock. Horton was viewed as a great value on Day 3 of the draft, and he's already firmly in the mix to be the team's third receiver behind starters Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp, who was added as a free agent. Horton's draft stock will surely be on the rise after this preseason showing, and he'll continue to climb draft boards. He's a great depth pickup if you can get him as a value, but Seattle does have two strong receivers ahead of him on the depth chart, which could keep his early-season production in check.
From RotoBaller
Dynasty | Raiders rookie running back Ashton Jeanty had three carries for -1 yard in his preseason debut. Dynasty Analysis: While you currently have more yardage this preseason than Jeanty, there's no need to panic. Jeanty played only part of two different series and didn't get much help from his blockers in this one. He'll remain the 1.01 in virtually every rookie draft regardless of format moving forward.
Dynasty | Seahawks quarterback Jalen Milroe completed 6-of-10 passes for 61 yards and added 38 rushing yards in the Seahawks preseason opener. Dynasty Analysis: Milroe was given a pretty vanilla game script at first, but was thrown into a last minute drive at the end that showcased his ability a little more. There are still valid questions about his accuracy and ultimate ability to run an offense, but it's clear his athleticism and running ability are truly unique for the position. In the end, Milroe is essentially trying to unseat Drew Lock this year for the ability to back up Sam Darnold and remains a dynasty stash.
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell had an up-and-down preseason debut Thursday against the Seahawks, completing 18 of 30 passes for 205 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He found second-year running back Dylan Laube for a six-yard score in the third quarter but otherwise led the offense to just two field goals. O'Connell is competing to retain the backup role behind Geno Smith, but his inconsistency leaves the door open. Sixth-round rookie Cam Miller, drafted out of North Dakota State, is pushing for the job and could close the gap with a strong showing in upcoming games.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh noted that running back Rasheen Ali was "banged up" during Thursday's 24-16 win over the Colts. Ali finished with nine carries for 37 yards and a touchdown, continuing his bid for a roster spot behind Derrick Henry and Justice Hill. While the top of the depth chart is set, Ali remains a long shot for fantasy value in 2025 without injuries ahead of him. The rookie logged just 10 carries for 31 yards across six games in 2024. His camp status is worth monitoring, especially in deep leagues or for dynasty stash consideration.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. (finger) is considered day-to-day after dislocating his pinky finger, according to head coach Shane Steichen. Entering a critical third season, Richardson faces competition from veteran Daniel Jones, who was signed this offseason. While Richardson has shown flashes of star potential, injuries and inconsistency have held him back. He'll need preseason reps to lock down the starting job, making this injury something to monitor. If Richardson misses extended time, Jones could be in line to start Week 1. Fantasy managers with Colts pass-catchers or Richardson himself should watch for updates on his availability through the preseason. UPDATE: Richardson says his finger is sore after getting hurt in Thursday's preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, but he thinks he'll be able to return soon.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase caught all four of his targets for 77 yards in Thursday's preseason loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He also scored a touchdown, finding the end zone off a 36-yard pass from quarterback Joe Burrow near the end of the first quarter. The 2021 No. 5 overall pick is coming off a monster year, finishing the 2024 campaign by amassing 127 catches for 1,708 yards and 17 touchdowns, all the highest marks of his career. As a result, many consider Chase to be the top fantasy option heading into Week 1. Of course, the 25-year-old has an excellent chance of remaining an elite fantasy performer, but he'll need to stay healthy. Burrow will also need to remain on the field, considering the signal-caller has battled plenty of injuries throughout his career. With a preseason loss in the books, the Bengals will look to get on track versus the Washington Commanders on August 18.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders QB Geno Smith completed 1-of-3 passes for 15 yards in one series of work in the preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 7 against the Seattle Seahawks, his former team.
Fantasy Spin: Smith should be targeted as a low-end QB2 in most fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. He could be a decent bye-week replacement if the matchup is favorable, but expect a bit of a backslide with his move from Seattle to Las Vegas.
