Gardner Minshew II Feb 17 10:00pm CT
    Gardner Minshew II

The Athletic's Tashan Reed writes that quarterback Gardner Minshew II was terrible in 10 appearances in 2024 and won't be in the Las Vegas Raiders' plans at quarterback in 2025. The Raider will free up only $3 million in salary cap space this year while taking a dead-money hit of $10.82 million if they cut him, according to Spotrac. However, if they make him a post-June 1 cut, they'll save $6 million in cap space, with the dead-money hit spread across the next two years -- $7.82 million in 2025 and $3 million in 2026. With Minshew likely being cut this offseason, Aidan O'Connell would be the team's clear starter heading into next season, but the Raiders could draft a new signal-caller, sign one on the open market or trade for someone. Minshew was a first-time Pro Bowler in 2023 with the Colts but threw nine TDs and 10 interceptions in Vegas in 2024 and will be a backup option for anyone that picks him up.

Aaron Rodgers Feb 17 9:50pm CT
    Aaron Rodgers

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers told new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey that it was his tentative plan to play again in 2025, according to SI.com's Albert Breer. Rodgers gave the Jets the impression that he had unfinished business to take care of after a disappointing 2024 campaign in which the Jets missed the playoffs. The Jets have already decided to turn the page on the Rodgers era, though, and he's expected to be designated as a post-June 1 cut. The Jets believe Rodgers still has gas left in the tank, but he will have to join another organization this offseason to play one more season in the NFL. It remains to be seen if any teams will want Rodgers, but his best option could be joining up with new head coach Pete Carroll in Las Vegas with the Raiders. The Los Angeles Rams could be another option if they trade Matthew Stafford.

Matthew Stafford Feb 17 9:40pm CT
    Matthew Stafford

The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue writes that it's not a given that quarterback Matthew Stafford will remain with the Los Angeles Rams going into the 2025 season despite both sides' openness to work out a deal. The best path forward is Stafford returning for one more year in L.A., but head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead not overtly committing to Stafford at the end of the year signals that they are open to a potential trade this offseason. Basically, the Rams have a youthful roster and don't want to make a significant financial commitment to an aging QB whose long-term future and durability are uncertain. The 37-year-old only missed one game in 2024, though, and was peaking in the postseason. Several NFL executives think Stafford has another good season left in him, but if the Rams stick with him in 2025, they are putting off their future another year. The Rams are essentially between a rock and a hard place and their backup last season, Jimmy Garoppolo, will be a free agent.

Shedeur Sanders Feb 17 9:10pm CT
    Shedeur Sanders

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini writes that Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart might be a name to watch for the New York Jets in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft now that they have officially moved on from Aaron Rodgers. Senior football adviser Rick Spielman raved about Dart at last month's Senior Bowl as a CBS Sports analyst before he was hired full time by the Jets as a consultant. Spielman praised Dart's "arm talent" and said he had the "smoothest, quickest release" of any QB at the Senior Bowl. Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders are the consensus top-two QBs in this year's class, but Dart could be emerging as the No. 3, and the Jets could target him in the first round of the draft as their next franchise signal-caller. The Jets have the seventh and 42nd overall picks this year.

Chris Godwin Feb 17 9:10pm CT
    Chris Godwin

According to ESPN's Jenna Laine, there's "no chance" the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will use the franchise tag on wide receiver Chris Godwin (ankle) this offseason. Sources say that the Bucs very much want to bring Godwin back in 2025, but it won't be via the franchise tag. This would be the third time that Tampa has used the franchise tag on the 28-year-old, which would have to be a 144 percent raise. The former third-rounder in 2017 out of Penn State was very productive alongside Mike Evans last year, but then he suffered a season-ending ankle injury and played in only seven games, finishing with 50 catches, 576 yards and five touchdowns on 62 targets in his eighth year with the team. Godwin is still on the right side of 30, so he should have a fairly decent free-agent market. If he returns to Tampa, he'll be working with quarterback Baker Mayfield again, albeit with the third different offensive coordinator in the last three years.

Garrett Wilson Feb 17 9:00pm CT
    Garrett Wilson

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini writes that quarterback Aaron Rodgers' eventual departure greatly increases the chances of wide receiver Garrett Wilson returning to the New York Jets. Their was tension between Rodgers and Wilson last year, which started in training camp and came to a head late in the regular season, leading to speculation that Wilson could request a trade. In 11 games with both Wilson and Davante Adams on the team, Adams was targeted 112 times (third-most in the league, while Wilson saw just 87 targets. The 24-year-old Wilson is coming off his third straight 1,000-yard receiving campaign and should be the Jets' unquestioned No. 1 pass-catcher next year after they move on from Adams. Although Wilson should have a much safer target floor in 2025 with Adams out of the picture, his fantasy value will depend a lot on who the Jets tab as their next QB.

    Louis Rees-Zammit Feb 17 8:50pm CT
    Louis Rees-Zammit

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed quarterback John Wolford and wide receiver Louis Rees-Zammit to their active roster on Monday, the team announced. Wolford was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Los Angeles Rams last year but didn't play in any regular-season games before joining Jacksonville's practice squad in December. The 29-year-old has played in seven NFL games (four starts), dating back to 2020, with all of his action coming with the Rams. He's gone 61-for-104 for 626 yards with a touchdown and five interceptions. Wolford will merely give the Jags extra QB depth heading into the 2025 season. Rees-Zammit is a rugby player from Wales that was originally signed by the Kansas City Chiefs last summer, but he was cut following the preseason before latching onto the Jaguars' practice squad. The 24-year-old had six carries for 24 yards in the preseason with the Chiefs.

Liam Coen Feb 17 8:50pm CT
    Liam Coen

The Jacksonville Jaguars have narrowed their search for a new general manager down to five candidates, which include San Francisco 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams, Los Angeles Rams director of scouting strategy James Gladstone, Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham, Green Bay Packers vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan and current Jaguars interim GM Ethan Waugh. Jacksonville is expected to hire a new GM b the end of the week. The Jaguars are searching for a new GM after firing Trent Baalke following the 2024 season, which was believed to be directly related to how he handled their head-coaching search. Jacksonville eventually hired former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen, but only after firing Baalke and preventing Coen from returning to the Bucs.

Trevor Lawrence Feb 17 8:40pm CT
    Trevor Lawrence

The Pittsburgh Steelers never called the Jacksonville Jaguars recently about potentially trading for quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder), according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation. Last week, Ryan Burr of the Big 10 Network reported that the Steelers reached out to the Jags about Lawrence, but sources quickly said there's "no chance" it would happen. Lawrence said on Monday that he won't waive his no-trade clause and won't go to Pittsburgh. The Steelers are at a crossroads at the QB position with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields entering free agency, but they are expected to re-sign one of them this offseason. Although the Jaguars remain without a new general manager, those in the front office apparently remain fully committed to the former first overall pick out of Clemson. Fantasy managers, however, will probably be ignoring him this fall in 12-team, one-QB leagues.

Tee Higgins Feb 17 1:50pm CT
    Tee Higgins

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is expected to be franchise-tagged, according to James Rapien of SI.com. The team used the tag on him last offseason and is planning to do so again between February 18 and March 4 during the tag window. However, the organization is hoping to sign Higgins to a long-term extension this time around. The 26-year-old has hauled in 330 passes for 4,595 yards and 34 touchdowns in 70 games since being selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Higgins caught a career-high 10 touchdowns in 2024. Surely, many franchises were hoping Higgins would hit the open market, but it appears the Bengals are doing everything they can to keep the former Clemson star in Cincinnati for the short and long-term future.

Chris Godwin Feb 17 11:03am CT
    Chris Godwin

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Chris Godwin will not receive the franchise tag this offseason. However, the team will do everything it can to retain him.

Fantasy Spin: Godwin is a great WR2, but he has the propensity for the serious injury. So there is risk and reward in taking him as a WR2, but he'll be a great WR3 if he falls in drafts.

    From TheHuddle

Jaire Alexander Feb 17 10:43am CT
    Jaire Alexander

Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander is likely to be traded or let go in the offseason, in the opinion of beat writer Rob Demovsky. Multiple team sources have been frustrated at Alexander's inability to stay healthy or unwillingness to play through injury.

    From TheHuddle

Dak Prescott Feb 16 9:13pm CT
    Dak Prescott

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott said he expects to use play-action more often under head coach Brian Schottenheimer. 'I've always enjoyed play-action pass, so just being able to get back to that,' Prescott said. 'But you've got to start with the run game, and when you have that, the rest of the offense can open up.'

Fantasy Spin: Although Schottenheimer's offensive philosophy could provide Prescott with more opportunities to make plays down the field, it sounds like it will mean a more run-heavy approach overall. Prescott should probably be viewed as a solid QB2.

    From TheHuddle

Aaron Rodgers Feb 16 4:53pm CT
    Aaron Rodgers

Former New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is not expected to receive much interest from the New York Giants this offseason, according to the New York Post's Paul Schwartz.

Fantasy Spin: The Giants will be looking for a starting quarterback during the offseason but probably have other options in mind and will avoid Rodgers. Some teams in need of a starter probably will pursue Rodgers, but he will be No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts.

    From TheHuddle

Kareem Hunt Feb 16 4:43pm CT
    Kareem Hunt

Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent RB Kareem Hunt seems to have a good chance to re-sign with the Chiefs this offseason, in the opinion of ChiefsWire's John Dillon.

    From TheHuddle

Joe Flacco Feb 16 4:33pm CT
    Joe Flacco

Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent QB Joe Flacco probably will not re-sign with the Colts this offseason, in the opinion of ColtsWire's Paul Bretl.

    From TheHuddle

Mark Andrews Feb 16 3:43pm CT
    Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews may be asked to restructure his contract this offseason so the team can create nearly $5 million in salary cap space if he reworks his deal, in the opinion of RavensWire's Glenn Erby.

Fantasy Spin: Andrews improved his play as the season went on and caught a touchdown in each of his last six regular season games. He should continue to be involved in the passing game if he stays with the Ravens and can be a low-end No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Justin Tucker Feb 16 11:10am CT
    Justin Tucker

The Baltimore Banner reports that seven additional massage therapists have accused Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker of inappropriate sexual behavior, bringing the total to 16 women at eight Baltimore-area spas that have thrown accusations his way. This situation looks awfully similar to Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson's, when he was suspended 11 games and fined $5 million in 2022 after allegations of sexual misconduct by more than two dozen women who claimed Watson committed sexual misconduct during massage-therapy sessions. It's unclear what will play out with Tucker in Baltimore, but considering he's also coming off the worst season in his career in 2024, it's possible the Ravens could outright cut him this offseason to avoid any further headaches. At the very least, Tucker could be heading for a lengthy suspension in 2025 if he sticks with the organization.

    From RotoBaller

Tyreek Hill Feb 16 9:53am CT
    Tyreek Hill

The Miami Dolphins may be willing to listen to trade offers for WR Tyreek Hill, although it is expected to take a significant offer for the club to move him, according to multiple league executives.

Fantasy Spin: Hill saw a dip in production after playing alongside multiple quarterbacks in 2024 but has been productive when starting QB Tua Tagovailoa is healthy. Regardless of where he is playing in 2025, Hill should be a starting option in all fantasy leagues.
