New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 19 of his 23 pass attempts for 230 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Miami Dolphins. In the process, he tied his career-high completion percentage (82.6 percent). He also ran the ball 10 times for an additional 31 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. The second-year signal caller has looked solid through two games this year, showcasing an ability to make plays on the ground and through the air. Sunday's matchup was relatively softer, but he was still tested from time to time. We could see a similar fantasy performance from Maye next week as he takes on the Pittsburgh Steelers, whose defense has underperformed through the first two games.
From RotoBaller
Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told the media that he's not considering a quarterback change following Sunday's Week 2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Joe Flacco struggled in the loss, completing 25 of 45 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also took two sacks and lost a fumble. With Cleveland trailing by multiple possessions late in the game, Stefanski replaced Flacco with rookie Dillon Gabriel. In the first drive of his career, Gabriel went 3-for-3 with a passing touchdown, albeit against a defense that presumably wasn't playing at 100 percent due to the large lead. Flacco will remain the starting quarterback in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers, whose Micah Parsons-led defense has been playing quite well. Flacco can't be trusted in fantasy football next week.
From RotoBaller
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson completed 19 of his 29 pass attempts for 225 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Cleveland Browns. He only rushed twice in the victory, adding 13 yards on the ground. Although Jackson didn't use his legs much, that was simply a product of the passing attack working quite well and the defense playing a great game against the Browns. The quarterback's ability to make plays on the ground or through the air is what allows him to rank as a top fantasy option week in and week out. Now responsible for seven touchdowns and zero turnovers through two games, Jackson enters Week 3 against Detroit as a high-end QB1 in fantasy football.
From RotoBaller
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook rushed 21 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 2 win over the New York Jets. He also converted his lone target into a three-yard reception. Cook has picked up right where he left off last year, racking up yardage and scoring touchdowns within a high-powered Buffalo offense. He now has 237 yards and three touchdowns through just two games. The recently paid running back shows no signs of slowing down, either, as he motors on toward a very favorable matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. He has firmly established himself as a low-end RB1 once again.
From RotoBaller
Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze is putting together a strong second season in the Windy City. He hauled in six receptions and scored a touchdown in the season opener. Odunze was able to top that performance this Sunday. He snagged seven of his 11 targets for 128 yards and two touchdowns in the blowout loss to the Detroit Lions. Odunze scored both touchdowns in the first half as the Bears tried to keep this a competitive game. It was an ugly loss for Chicago, but it's good to see Odunze and quarterback Caleb Williams building solid chemistry together. For Week 3, Odunze should be on the WR2 radar for their matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. A defensive unit that just got carved up for 450 yards by Russell Wilson.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson came ready to prove the doubters wrong during Sunday's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. After a lackluster season opener, there was some speculation that Wilson would be benched in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart. The Giants stuck with Wilson and he gave them a great bounce back performance on Sunday. Wilson completed 30-of-41 passing attempts for 450 yards, with three touchdowns, and one interception in the overtime loss. Everything was going Wilson's way until he threw what looked like a miscommunication interception to end the game. The Giants did lose this game, but this performance should keep the heat off Wilson for a little longer. We'll see if he can carry this momentum into next week's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase bounced back in a major way during Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chase was quiet in the season opener with only two receptions for 26 yards. He looked much more like himself during Sunday's Week 2 contest. Chase hauled in 14 of his 16 targets for 165 yards and a touchdown in the win. Surprisingly, a majority of Chase's production came after Joe Burrow (toe) exited the game. Jake Browning was able to find Chase with ease throughout the second half. The expectation is that Burrow is going to miss multiple weeks due to a turf toe issue. His absence should decrease the value of Chase, but clearly Browning and Chase do have good chemistry. Even without Burrow, Chase is a locked-in WR1 for Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff was outstanding on the field during Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. Goff bounced back in epic fashion after a lackluster performance in the season opener. Goff completed 23-of-28 passing attempts for 334 yards with five touchdowns in the blowout victory. Yes, you read that correctly, Goff threw five touchdowns in this game. Goff went out and showed former Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson that he's doing just fine without him. He tossed a pair of touchdowns to Jameson Williams while Amon-Ra St. Brown found the end zone three times on Sunday. Now, Goff will head into a tough test against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. Given his performance this week, fantasy managers should view Goff as a QB1 for next week.
From RotoBaller
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown put together an unbelievable performance against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. St. Brown was fairly quiet in the season opener with four receptions for 45 yards in the Week 1 loss. He completely exploded in Week 2 giving fantasy managers an epic afternoon. St. Brown hauled in nine of his 11 targets for 115 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The Bears secondary had absolutely no answers for St. Brown all afternoon long. The superstar wideout recorded his first career three-touchdown game. The Lions offense erupted for 52 points, but we'll see if they can keep it going next week against the Baltimore Ravens. St. Brown should be viewed as a mid-range WR1 for that one.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (toe) is believed to have suffered turf toe during Sunday's Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Jeremy Rauch of FOX 19. Burrow also suffered torn ligaments and is expected to miss several weeks. The former No. 1 pick exited during the first half and did not return. He finished Week 2 with seven completions, 76 yards, and one passing touchdown. With Burrow expected to miss significant time, Jake Browning will take over as the Bengals' primary quarterback. Browning led the Bengals to a victory Sunday, but it wasn't pretty as he threw three interceptions.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers caught nine of his 13 targets for 167 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Nabers delivered two acrobatic touchdown grabs on deep passes from Russell Wilson, carrying his team to an overtime thriller before New York ultimately lost on a game-winning field goal. The former first-round pick has quickly developed a strong rapport with Russell Wilson, which should prove to be beneficial as the Giants throw the ball a lot while playing from behind. Nabers remains a high-end WR1 option heading into Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
From RotoBaller
Dynasty | Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow left Sunday's game early with a toe injury. Dynasty Analysis: Burrow was slow to get up after a sack and many thought he had some kind of high ankle sprain. Instead, he was ruled out with an apparent toe injury. If it's turf toe, this can be tricky and he could be in a similar boat as Brock Purdy and thus looking at a multi-week absence. It certainly didn't have the looks of a season-threatening ailment but stay tuned to see just how long he may be out. Jake Browning could make for a decent streamer in the meantime.
Dynasty | Browns rookie running back Quinshon Judkins had 61 rushing yards, three catches and ten receiving yards in a loss to the Ravens. Dynasty Analysis: The Browns were manhandled by the Ravens but Judkins was one of the few bright spots for Cleveland on the day. He led the Browns running backs in terms of touches and looked like the best playmaker the Browns have. Expect his carries to increase as it looks like he's poised to pass Jerome Ford already. His rookie ranking will be on the rise but a possible suspension looms large.
Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku posted four receptions for 40 yards on five targets in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Fantasy Spin: Njoku has had a couple of mediocre stat lines through the first two games. He has to contend with rookie Harold Fannin Jr., and it is hurting his fantasy value a bit. Right now, Njoku looks a lot more like a TE2 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams than a must-start option, especially since the Cleveland QB play is mediocre, too.
From TheHuddle
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (toe) was seen wearing a boot and walking with crutches following Sunday's Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Burrow exited during the first half and did not return. He finished Week 2 with seven completions, 76 yards, and one passing touchdown. If the postgame scene is any indication, it appears the quarterback's injury is considered serious, and he could end up missing some time. If so, Jake Browning would take over as the Bengals' primary quarterback. Browning led the Bengals to a victory Sunday, but it wasn't pretty as he threw three interceptions. We'll likely get more information on Burrow's status after the team conducts additional medical testing.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants QB Russell Wilson finished 30-of-41 for 450 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys. Wilson also ran for 23 yards on three carries.
Fantasy Spin: What started as a field goal fest through 1 1/2 quarters quickly turned into a shootout. Wilson turned back the clock a few years against a shorthanded Dallas secondary, connecting on several deep balls - including 48 yards to Malik Nabers (TD), 50 yards to Wan'Dale Robinson and 52 yards to Darius Slayton. Wilson's only mistake was a costly one, as he threw one of his patented moon balls to no one in particular late in overtime. Nevertheless, he undoubtedly bought himself some more time as the starter ahead of rookie Jaxson Dart with this performance, although he remains no more than a fantasy QB2 in Week 3 versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
From TheHuddle
Free-agent DE Jadeveon Clowney (Panthers) visited with the Dallas Cowboys, and owner and general manager Jerry Jones announced after the Week 2 game against the New York Giants that the veteran will be signing. Terms of the deal are undisclosed.
From TheHuddle
Cleveland Browns QB Joe Flacco completed 25-of-45 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 2 against the Baltimore Ravens, and he ran once for eight yards.
Fantasy Spin: Flacco was very mediocre against his former team, and it is par for the course, in terms of fantasy appeal. He should be treated as nothing more than a low-end QB2 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 3 and beyond.
From TheHuddle
New York Jets QB Tyrod Taylor went 7-for-11 for 56 yards and one touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 after replacing QB Justin Fields (head). He also rushed for 21 yards on three carries during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Taylor may be the starting quarterback for the Jets in Week 3 depending on the status of Justin Fields, so fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation. Taylor has had some success during his career but will only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts games.
From TheHuddle
Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jonnu Smith ended up with four receptions for 27 yards on four targets in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy Spin: Smith is battling incumbent veteran Pat Freiermuth for targets among the Pittsburgh tight ends, and right now it is essentially a 50-50 split, limiting the fantasy effectiveness of both players. For now, consider Smith as a high-end TE2 in most fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams.
