Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota went 18-for-23 with 205 yards and two passing scores in relief of Jayden Daniels (ribs), who left the game in the first quarter. Mariota added 34 yards on 11 rushing attempts. The veteran QB did not face much trouble in relief as the Commanders were overpowering Carolina the entire evening. The former Oregon product found both tight ends, Zach Ertz and Ben Sinnott, in the end zone. He connected with Terry McLaurin all evening as he finished with a team-high 98 yards on six catches. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Daniels' status during the week, as Mariota could be in line to start next weekend against the Chicago Bears.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton threw for 93 yards and two interceptions off 11-for-16 passing in Sunday's blowout to the Washington Commanders. Nothing was going right for the Panthers offense in Week 7, resulting in Bryce Young entering late when the game was out of reach. As a result, many wondered if Young would be back under center moving ahead. However, that doesn't appear to be the case, with head coach Dave Canales stating postgame that the team is "committed" to Dalton moving ahead. The veteran signal-caller has played better than expected since taking over for Young, so fantasy managers in multi-QB formats can consider him a starting option in Week 8 against the Broncos.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. had a productive day in his return as he tallied 71 yards on the ground off 12 attempts and found the end zone for the sixth time this season. He did not see a target in the passing game. The Commanders got ahead of Carolina quite early and gave their rusher a limited workload in the second half as the game was out of hand. However, the 25-year-old looked healthy after his Week 6 absence due to a knee injury as he reclaimed his typical short-yardage role. Robinson should be locked into all lineups as an RB2 next weekend against the Chicago Bears.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders running back Austin Ekeler had a quiet showing in their Week 7 dismantling of the Carolina Panthers. Ekeler ran the ball just four times for a mere 17 yards. In the passing game, he brought in both of his targets just three yards. This was his lowest output of the season, both on the ground and through the air. However, the game script for the pass-catching back was not too positive, as the Commanders were up by multiple scores all evening. Fantasy managers in PPR leagues should continue to view Ekeler as a low-end flex option heading into their Week 8 tilt against the Chicago Bears.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin led all Washington pass-catchers with 98 yards in their victory over the Carolina Panthers. He brought in all six of his targets, which tied for a team-high. Even though he was without his QB1 through most of the game, the 29-year-old has continued his impressive stretch as he has tallied at least 15.0 PPR points in every game since Week 3. During this span, McLaurin found the end zone four times and has been the clear lead option in the Washington air attack. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring Jayden Daniels' status (ribs) throughout the week, but McLaurin remains a safe, high-end WR2 facing the Chicago Bears next weekend.
From RotoBaller
According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Cleveland Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson (finger) may have avoided a severe injury. However, his availability moving forward will be determined based on "how he responds to treatment and how he can grip a football." With Deshaun Watson (Achilles) going down in the Week 7 meeting with the Bengals, DTR took over under center, throwing for 82 yards off 11-for-24 passing, adding 44 yards off three carries. But after he was injured, Jameis Winston entered the contest. Cleveland will next meet the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Still, no matter who is throwing the ball, fantasy managers will have a tough time trusting any Browns quarterback until the offense shows signs of life.
From RotoBaller
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper caught four passes for 66 yards and a touchdown in his first game with the team. Cooper, acquired via trade last week, scored on his first reception of the game in the third quarter. The 30-year-old wasn't deployed as often as other Buffalo wide receivers as he was still learning the playbook. On his touchdown, he appeared to ask rookie Keon Coleman what the play was before the ball was snapped. His involvement will only increase moving forward and should take snaps from Coleman and Mack Hollins. He'll be a WR2 when the Bills travel to Seattle next weekend.
From RotoBaller
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir caught all seven of his targets for 65 yards in the team's victory over the Tennessee Titans. Shakir was well on his way to a dud performance until Buffalo's first drive of the fourth quarter. Josh Allen threw three straight passes to the slot receiver for 24 yards. Amari Cooper caught one pass, and then Allen went right back to Shakir for two more catches for 26 yards. Cooper's arrival in Buffalo won't impact Shakir's playing time. He operates almost exclusively from the slot and does not often see the field in two-receiver sets. He'll be in the flex conversation next week against the Seattle Seahawks.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte caught one of his two targets for 33 yards during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The second-year receiver wasn't able to replicate his impressive Week 6 stat line that included a touchdown, but he was still heavily involved. He finished Sunday's contest with 50 snaps (most among Patriots wide receivers) and 37 routes run (most among all Patriots players). Boutte is off the redraft radar going forward but remains an intriguing dynasty stash as he continues to earn meaningful offensive snaps.
From RotoBaller
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen completed 21 of 33 pass attempts for 323 yards and two touchdowns in the team's 34-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans. He rushed three times for one yard. Allen was on his way to a respectable, but not great, stat line until the fourth quarter. He tossed his second touchdown to running back Ty Johnson and added 125 passing yards to his total on the two subsequent drives. Allen's first score was a red zone strike to the newly acquired Amari Cooper. He and the healthy return of Khalil Shakir give Allen reliable options in the passing game. Allen and the Bills will travel to Seattle for their Week 8 matchup.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots wide receiver K.J. Osborn caught two of his three targets for 26 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Many members of the Patriots' receiving core got involved on Sunday, and that included Osborn in his first game back from a shoulder injury. However, it's worth noting that he only played 36.7 percent of offensive snaps, which was his lowest mark of the 2024 season. He remains off the fantasy radar going forward.
From RotoBaller
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook rushed 12 times for 32 yards and a touchdown in the team's 34-10 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. For the first time this season, Cook did not record a reception. The touchdown saved what was otherwise an inefficient day on the ground. Cook returned to the lineup after a one-game absence and handled the early-down work for the Bills in the first half. Backup rookie Ray Davis (five carries, 41 yards, one touchdown) got the majority of his production in the second half. Expect Cook to remain the starter and handle most of the running back touches against Seattle in Week 8.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) won't return to Sunday's game against the 49ers. The wideout entered this contest carrying an injury designation, so it appears he wasn't ready to get on the field after coming off a huge seven-catch, 130-yard outing in Week 5 against the Saints. It's unknown if he'll be ready to go for the Week 8 matchup versus the Raiders. However, if Smith-Schuster doesn't suit up, it will likely result in more targets for Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce, and Noah Gray.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas caught two of three targets for 14 yards during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 23-year-old was very involved on the opening drive, but his productivity dwindled as the game progressed. He missed nearly a quarter while battling symptoms of an illness, and although he did check back into the game in the second half, he did not catch a pass after returning to the field. Douglas is a candidate to bounce back in Week 7 assuming he's able to shake the symptoms of his illness. He caught six passes for 92 yards and one touchdown in Week 6 with Drake Maye under center, and managers are anxious for him to replicate that stat line with the No. 3 pick playing quite well. Douglas ranks as a low-end WR3/FLEX option heading into next Sunday's divisional contest.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones entered Sunday's matchup with the Lions by carrying an injury designation because of a hamstring injury. However, it appeared the ailment wasn't a concern, considering he finished the day by amassing 93 yards and a touchdown off 14 carries, adding three catches for 23 yards. While the 29-year-old hadn't found the end zone on the ground since Week 1 leading up to this contest, he's been consistently productive as a pass-catcher and runner. Keep him starting on Thursday night against the Rams.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots running back JaMycal Hasty lost two yards on two carries during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. On a more positive note, he caught all five of his targets for 49 yards and one touchdown through the air. Hasty was one of the Patriots' most productive pass-catchers on Sunday, and he also led the backfield in total yards. Equally important was the snap distribution among the backfield, with Rhamondre Stevenson playing 30 snaps, JaMycal Hasty getting 20, and Antonio Gibson finishing with just 10. For the first time this season, Hasty out-snapped Gibson, and it's possible this trend continues after the former's productive outing on Sunday. With that said, Hasty isn't on the fantasy radar quite yet.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry caught eight of nine targets for 92 yards during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. A switch seems to have been flipped for the veteran tight end ever since the Patriots replaced Jacoby Brissett with Drake Maye. Henry was off the fantasy radar with Brissett under center, but he has caught 11 passes for 133 yards and one touchdown through two games with Maye. His sudden rise to fantasy prominence is enough to justify deploying him as a low-end TE1 in Week 8 against the New York Jets.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots tight end Austin Hooper caught four of his five targets for 32 yards during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 29-year-old operated behind Hunter Henry once again but still managed to turn in his best game of the season as he posted season-highs in targets, receptions, and yards. Interestingly, he posted these results despite playing a season-low 38.3 percent of offensive snaps. While any efficient performance like this one will open the eyes of fantasy managers, we should caution that Hooper is still the No. 2 tight end in New England and doesn't have enough of a role to warrant fantasy consideration. He remains off the radar for Week 8 against the New York Jets.
From RotoBaller
Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft provided a quality game, highlighted by a touchdown catch in the team's 24-22 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 7. Kraft disappointed fantasy managers in Week 6 following the two consecutive weeks where he had been the overall TE1, but Kraft found the end zone in the second quarter for the first Packers touchdown of the game. Kraft caught 3-of-4 targets for 33 yards and a 14-yard touchdown grab that saw him lay out in the end zone to make the catch. It's a battle every week amongst the Packers' pass-catchers and with so many quality targets for quarterback Jordan Love, Kraft has been solidly involved more often than not. With the Packers heading to Jacksonville with a Week 8 matchup against the Jaguars, Kraft should be considered a low-end fantasy TE1.
From RotoBaller
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 26 of 37 passes for 276 yards, two touchdowns, and zero turnovers during Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. He also rushed for 18 yards and two sacks. The rookie No. 3 overall pick has looked impressive through his first two starts, tallying 519 passing yards, five touchdowns, two interceptions, and one lost fumble during that span. With that said, matchups with the Texans and Jaguars haven't exactly pitted him against dominant defenses. The 22-year-old will get a more true test next week against the New York Jets, especially with pass rusher Haason Reddick set to make his 2024 debut. Maye ranks as a mid-range fantasy QB2 going forward.
