The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they interviewed Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Dave Ragone for their offensive-coordinator job on Tuesday. The Bucs are looking for a new offensive coordinator after Liam Coen left to become the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Before Ragone joined the Rams in 2024, he was the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons for three seasons. He began his NFL coaching career in 2011 and has also coached with the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans. Tampa is now looking for their fourth offensive coordinator in the last four years. They also interviewed offensive assistant/pass-game specialist Nate Scheelhaase and tight ends coach/pass-game coordinator Nick Caley for the offensive-coordinator position on Monday. The Bucs have also interviewed Chargers assistant Marcus Brady and Vikings assistant Grant Udinski.

The Houston Texans will interview quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson for their offensive-coordinator job early this week and is regarded as a top internal candidate to replace Bobby Slowik, according to league sources. The New York Jets are also expected to request an interview with Johnson for their offensive-coordinator position under new head coach Aaron Glenn. Johnson, a Texas A&M alumni who played for six different NFL teams, worked with quarterback C.J. Stroud in his first two years with the Texans but began coaching him when he was 16 years old. He interviewed last year with the Buccaneers, Saints, Browns, Eagles, Steelers and Patriots and has emerged as one of the hottest offensive-coordinator candidates around the NFL. Although Stroud regressed in his second season, Johnson was one of the big reasons he led the league in passing yards per game and TD-to-interception ratio as a rookie.

    Pete Carroll

The Athletic's Tashan Reed reports that the Las Vegas Raiders will interview defensive-line coach Rob Leonard for the defensive-coordinator job. In addition to Leonard, the Raiders have requested to interview Seattle Seahawks defensive-backs coach Karl Scott for the same position. Current defensive coordinator Patrick Graham has been a head-coaching candidate around the league this cycle and could depart, especially with the Raiders naming Pete Carroll as the new head coach. Leonard has been with the Raiders for the last two years and also coached the offensive line for the Baltimore Ravens in 2022. He began his NFL coaching career with the New York Giants and has also spent time with the Miami Dolphins. Leonard's experience in multiple roles has made him a hot coaching candidate around the league, but it sounds as though Carroll may want to retain him.

Dan Campbell Jan 27 7:00pm CT
    Dan Campbell

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Detroit Lions are working to hire Denver Broncos passing-game coordinator John Morton as their offensive coordinator to replace Ben Johnson, according to sources. Morton is traveling to Detroit on Monday to meet with the Lions. The 55-year-old was part of head coach Dan Campbell's staff in Detroit as a senior offensive assistant in 2022 before joining the Broncos in 2023. Morton also coached on Sean Payton's staff with the New Orleans Saints as a wide receivers coach when Campbell was the assistant head coach/tight ends coach in 2016. This wouldn't be Morton's first gig as an offensive coordinator in the NFL, as he held that role with the New York Jets in 2017. He was also the offensive coordinator at USC in 2009-10. Morton would become the second Broncos offensive assistant to leave this offseason, with TEs coach Declan Doyle being hired as the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears.

Mike McCarthy Jan 27 6:50pm CT
    Mike McCarthy

New Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said on Monday at his introductory press conference that he will be calling the offensive plays in 2025. The 51-year-old has been the Cowboys' offensive coordinator the last two years, so the announcement shouldn't come as a big surprise. However, it will be Schottenheimer's first head-coaching gig in the NFL. Former head coach Mike McCarthy also called the offensive plays in his final two years at the helm, and previous head coach Jason Garrett called the offensive plays for his first three seasons as head coach in Dallas from 2010-12. While the Cowboys are keeping continuity and familiarity with Schottenheimer, it should be noted that he hasn't called plays in the NFL since 2020 with the Seattle Seahawks. Expect the Dallas offense to feature a lot of play-action passes on offense under Schottenheimer in 2025.

Baker Mayfield Jan 27 6:50pm CT
    Baker Mayfield

New Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen confirmed on Monday that he will be calling the offensive plays for the team in his first year at the helm in 2025. Coen led Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield to the best season of his career in 2024 in his first and only year as the team's offensive coordinator, and now he will attempt to mold Jacksonville's offense around quarterback Trevor Lawrence in his first year as the Jags' head coach. Under Coen in 2024, Tampa had the league's No. 4 scoring offense (29.5 points per game) and No. 3 total offense (399.6 yards per game). Lawrence, the former first overall pick in 2021, had another disappointing 2024 that was marred by injuries. The 25-year-old played in a career-low 10 games due to a shoulder sprain and a concussion. The addition of Coen is good news, but fantasy managers will certainly be wary of Lawrence in fantasy drafts.

Tucker Kraft Jan 27 6:30pm CT
    Tucker Kraft

Based on Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur's comments at the end of the regular season, tight end Tucker Kraft and the rest of the team's TEs could see more involvement on offense in 2025. "I think that's on us to make sure we find him and feature him because when he gets the ball in his hands, you feel him," LaFleur said. "So if there's an area that we gotta do a better job on, I would say featuring the tight end." Musgrave only played in seven games due to injury, while Ben Sims and John FitzPatrick aren't traditional pass-catching TEs. Kraft, 24, broke out in his second season with 50 catches on 70 targets for 707 yards and seven touchdowns. Even if Musgrave is a bigger part of the passing offense in 2025, Kraft could have an even bigger role as Green Bay looks to replace targets lost to receiver Christian Watson's (knee) torn ACL.

Justin Fields Jan 27 6:20pm CT
    Justin Fields

Pittsburgh Steelers owner and president Art Rooney II said on Monday that it's unlikely the team will re-sign both impending free-agent quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields this offseason. "I wouldn't close the door but I'd say it's probably unlikely. I think both of them see themselves as starters and I don't know that they want to share the same job again next year," Rooney said. Wilson has already said that he'd love to stay in Pittsburgh, but it's probably more likely that the 36-year-old walks instead of Fields, who opened the 2024 campaign as the starter with Wilson nursing a calf injury. Wilson initially gave Pittsburgh's offense more of a spark, but he finished off the year with five straight losses, including another first-round playoff exit in a defeat at the hands of the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. With former head coach Pete Carroll joining the Raiders, Wilson could be looking to reunite with Carroll in the desert.

    T.J. Watt Jan 27 6:20pm CT
    T.J. Watt

Pittsburgh Steelers owner and president Art Rooney II hinted that the team will look at possibly extending star linebacker T.J. Watt, who is entering the final year of his current deal in 2025, this offseason. "That's something we want to look at this offseason. T.J. has been one of the foundations of the defense for quite a number of years now. And certainly hope we can have T.J. for the future, beyond this year," Rooney said. Although the former 30th overall pick in 2017 out of Wisconsin has had his fair share of injuries in his eight years in Pittsburgh, the seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro remains one of the most disruptive defenders in the NFL when he's on the field. He had 61 tackles (40 solo), 11.5 sacks and a league-high six forced fumbles in 17 regular-season games in 2024 and has a whopping 108 sacks for the Steelers in his career. It would be a surprise if he doesn't sign an extension with Pittsburgh.

Josh Allen Jan 27 6:10pm CT
    Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (wrist) said on Monday that he's dealing with a wrist injury that he suffered on Sunday in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. Allen suffered the injury at the goal line on the team's two-point-conversion attempt right before halftime. "Got crunched up a little bit, was able to finish the game, but some swelling and stuff today," Allen said. The 28-year-old's injury doesn't sound very serious, and he'll have all offseason to heal up after the season-ending loss on Sunday. He went 22-for-34 for 237 yards and two passing touchdowns in KC, also rushing 11 times for 39 yards. Despite finishing as a top-five QB yet again for fantasy managers during the regular season, Allen couldn't get over the hump in the postseason against the Chiefs and is now 0-4 against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.

Dalton Kincaid Jan 27 6:10pm CT
    Dalton Kincaid

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox said on Monday that fellow TE Dalton Kincaid (knee) was playing in the AFC Championship against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday on a torn PCL in his knee. In addition to that injury, Kincaid aggravated his other knee. "It's insane what he's played through," Knox said. This could help to explain why the 25-year-old second-year tight end had a disappointing sophomore campaign for Buffalo, catching just 44 passes for 448 yards and two touchdowns in 13 regular-season games after he had a 73-673-2 line in 16 games in 2023 in his rookie season. He caught only two of his four targets for 13 yards in the 32-29 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday and had a crucial drop with under two minutes left in the fourth quarter on fourth down that effectively ended Buffalo's season. If Kincaid can move past his knee injuries in 2025, he could be a nice TE sleeper in fantasy drafts this fall.

Isiah Pacheco Jan 27 2:20pm CT
    Isiah Pacheco

Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco toted the rock five times for 12 yards and hauled in both of his targets for 12 more in his team's 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills. Pacheco and backfield mate Kareem Hunt split time pretty evenly for the first four weeks of the former's return from early season fibula surgery. However, Pacheco injured his ribs in Week 17's victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers and has since produced ten carries and 30 yards on 35 snaps over two playoff games, while Hunt has vastly out-snapped and out-produced him as the team's lead back. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, this appears to be his role, as he's fully recovered from the rib injury he sustained near the season's end. We'll see if that changes in Kansas City's Super Bowl meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he'll be impossible to trust until his volume or production significantly increases.

    Cam Ward

Dynasty | New Jets Head Coach Aaron Glenn has been quiet on the future of Aaron Rodgers. Dynasty Analysis: Glenn plans to meet with Rodgers "sooner rather than later," but it's fair to wonder just what his future holds. The Jets pick at #7 this year and that's likely not high enough to get someone like Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward and the gap between those two and the third best quarterback seems pretty wide. At this point, it's anyone's guess as to what happens with Rodgers, who clearly looks like a shell of himself. Regardless, he's a QB2 at best moving forward and an uninspiring one at this point as well.

Damar Hamlin Jan 27 2:00pm CT
    Damar Hamlin

Buffalo Bills defensive back Christian Benford (concussion) was forced from Sunday's 32-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and did not return. Benford suffered a concussion in the team's win over the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round but was able to clear protocol in time for their Conference Championship matchup despite logging two limited sessions and a DNP at practice. Unfortunately, the 24-year-old lasted just 12 plays before colliding with teammate Damar Hamlin and being carted off with another concussion in the first quarter. He'd notch three tackles before his exit. There is no update on him, but he'll have an entire offseason's worth of time to get right after Kansas City knocked his team out of contention in their quest for a three-peat. More importantly, hopefully, Benford does not suffer adverse effects from two concussions in a short period of time.

Aaron Rodgers Jan 27 1:40pm CT
    Aaron Rodgers

During his introductory press conference, New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn was cryptic regarding quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his future with the team. "We've already [had] communication with [him]," said Glenn. "As we continue to look at the roster, we'll make decisions accordingly, and that's with a number of people on the team." Rodgers noted a few weeks ago that he needs some time away to reflect, but he did appear open to returning to the Jets if they'd have him. Whether the 41-year-old will be back with the team remains to be seen, but their new head coach is on record stating he plans to meet with the veteran QB soon and "will definitely come up with a decision much sooner than later. I don't wanna drag this out." Hopefully, Rodgers is of the same sentiment.

Jordyn Brooks Jan 27 1:20pm CT
    Jordyn Brooks

Per David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Miami Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks (wrist) had successful surgery on his wrist this past Friday. The former first-round pick was excellent during his first season in South Beach, appearing in all 17 games and leading all Dolphins in tackles with 143 (86 solo). Brooks appeared on Miami's injury report twice throughout the season with a wrist ailment but never missed practice because of the injury. Fortunately for him, the procedure was early enough in the offseason that he should be ready for the start of training camp. While the 27-year-old was a sound investment for the team in 2024, he'll garner a much more significant cap hit over the final two years of his contract.

Jonathan Jones Jan 27 11:40am CT
    Jonathan Jones

According to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones, the Las Vegas Raiders requested permission to interview Seattle Seahawks defensive passing-game coordinator and defensive-backs coach Karl Scott for their defensive-coordinator position, according to sources. Scott worked with Nick Saban at Alabama before joining Pete Carroll's coaching staff in Seattle in 2021. Carroll, who is set to be introduced as the Raiders' new head coach on Monday, worked with Scott in his last two seasons at the helm in Seattle. In addition to working at Alabama, Scott was the Minnesota Vikings' defensive-backs coach. He's an intriguing candidate, having worked three years under Saban, who is considered to be the best evaluator and developer of defensive-back talent in football history. The first order of business for the Raiders is determining if current DC Patrick Graham will stick around in Vegas under Carroll.

    Drake Maye

FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz reports that the New England Patriots are hiring former Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone as their new offensive-line coach, according to sources. Marrone is a highly respected offensive-line coach around the league and will now be tasked with improving what was a bad unit in 2024 to better protect second-year quarterback Drake Maye. The 60-year-old coach was the head coach of the Bills from 2013-14 and the head coach of the Jaguars from 2016-20. Last year, he worked as a senior analyst for football strategy for Bill O'Brien at Boston College. He last worked in the NFL from 2022-23 with the New Orleans Saints as their offensive-line coach and is considered one of the brightest O-line coaches in the league. Marrone was the offensive-line coach for Nick Saban at Alabama in 2021.

Lamar Jackson Jan 27 11:20am CT
    Lamar Jackson

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Baltimore Ravens and offensive coordinator Todd Monken are finalizing a contract extension on Monday, according to sources. Under Monken during the 2024 season, the Ravens led the NFL in offense, and quarterback Lamar Jackson had his best statistical season of his career after winning the MVP award in 2023. Due to all of Baltimore's success on offense, Monken was a hot head-coaching candidate around the league, but he'll be sticking in Baltimore for the foreseeable future. Although the Ravens have not gotten over the hump yet in the playoffs with Jackson under center, nobody can deny that they haven't been one of the best offenses in the NFL the last two years under Monken. Baltimore led the league in 2024 in total yards per game (424.9) and finished third in points per game (30.5).

Thomas Brown Jan 27 11:20am CT
    Thomas Brown

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the New England Patriots are hiring former Chicago Bears interim head coach Thomas Brown as their tight ends/passing-game coordinator on Monday, according to a source. Brown impressed new head coach Mike Vrabel in an offensive-coordinator interview and will now join his staff. He began the 2024 season in Chicago as the team's pass-game coordinator before being promoted to offensive coordinator and then interim head coach after the firings of Shane Waldron and Matt Eberflus, respectively. Brown led the Bears to a 1-4 record down the stretch in the interim head coach role, with the team's lone victory coming against the division-rival Green Bay Packers. Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams showed improved under Brown, so the Patriots will be hoping Brown can now help in the development of young QB Drake Maye.
