The Pittsburgh Steelers are finalizing an undisclosed one-year deal with former Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell on Tuesday night, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Gainwell will stay in the state of Pennsylvania and become the change-of pace option behind Jaylen Warren after Najee Harris left in free agency to join the Los Angeles Chargers. The 25-year-old will most likely be used more as a third-down option for Pittsburgh in pass-catching situations. In his four years with the Eagles, Gainwell had 280 carries for 1,185 yards (4.2 yards per carry) and 12 rushing touchdowns while adding 102 catches on 138 targets for 721 yards and an addition touchdown in 66 games (four starts). The Steelers still also have running back Cordarrelle Patterson to share the workload. At best, Gainwell will be a low-ceiling RB3/flex in point-per-reception leagues in his new home.

Dynasty | The Ravens have signed free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Dynasty Analysis: The fact this signing merits a single player news update and not a full-blown instant analysis article from DLF tells you just about all you need to know about the current dynasty value of Hopkins. Once one of the most feared players in all of fantasy, he's simply lost a step (or two) and looks more like a depth piece than a primary option for Baltimore. Hopkins posted just over 600 receiving yards and five touchdowns for the Titans and Chiefs last season, but looked pretty washed up in the process. We're now close to five years removed from his last dominant season and it's hard to see him emerging again at this point. Hopkins is starting to look like a serious roster clogger for those unwilling to give up the good fight.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that with quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones now out of town, it's considered likely that J.J. McCarthy (knee) will be the Minnesota Vikings' starting QB in 2025. The Vikings had plenty of interest in retaining one of Darnold or Jones, but they were outbid by the Seahawks and Colts, respectively. Minnesota will probably add a veteran QB as insurance, but all signs point to McCarthy leading the offense from Week 1 after he missed all of 2024 due to a torn meniscus that he suffered in the preseason. The 22-year-old Michigan product was the 10th overall pick in last year's draft. Although he has an excellent one-two punch to work with at receiver in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and a QB guru in head coach Kevin O'Connell, fantasy managers should expect growing pains from McCarthy. Fantasy managers in single-QB, 12-team leagues can ignore McCarthy in 2025.

Free-agent wide receiver Trent Sherfield is signing with the Denver Broncos on Tuesday on a two-year, $8 million deal, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Sherfield will join the Broncos in 2025 after playing in 17 regular-season games (one start) with the Minnesota Vikings last year and catching only eight of his nine targets for 83 yards and one touchdown. The 29-year-old pass-catcher has been with five different teams (Cardinals, 49ers, Dolphins, Bills and Vikings) in the last five seasons, with his best year coming in 2022 with Miami, when he posted a 30-417-2 line in 17 games (four starts). The Vanderbilt product spent the first three years of his NFL career in Arizona before bouncing around on a year-to-year basis. Sherfield is unlikely to make much noise with the Broncos next season while competing for a secondary role with the likes of Marvin Mims Jr., Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin.

Former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson signed a two-year, $9.5 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday that includes $6 million fully guaranteed, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Robinson will remain in the NFC West after spending the last two seasons with the Rams. In 33 regular-season games (21 starts) for L.A., Robinson caught 57 of his 103 targets for 876 yards and 11 touchdowns. The 30-year-old had a career year in 2024, setting career-highs in receiving yards (505) and touchdowns (seven) while catching 31 of his 64 targets over 17 regular-season starts. In the Bay Area, he'll help make up for the loss of Deebo Samuel Sr., who was traded to the Commanders. Fantasy managers should definitely expect regression in the touchdown department, and he's likely to open the year as the No. 4 behind Brandon Aiyuk (knee), Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall, depending on Aiyuk's recovery from a torn ACL.

Dynasty | The Cardinals have signed free agent quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Dynasty Analysis: This is a nice signing for Arizona as they'll have a capable quarterback behind Kyler Murray who likley didn't cost a fortune to acquire. Brissett has proven to be a solid NFL backup and spot starter, though not quite good enough to elevate a franchise for more than a few weeks. He'll remain off the dynasty radar unless you need him in a 2QB league or as injury insurance for Murray.
Dynasty | The Saints have re-signed wide receiver Dante Pettis. Dynasty Analysis: The former second round pick has shown some flashes of brilliance, but never enough to truly become a difference maker in fantasy or reality. He'll likely be more of a special teams player, but he should stay on watch lists should the Saints fail to do much else with their wide receiver room this off-season.
Dynasty | The Dolphins have signed wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Dynasty Analysis: The greatest best ball player of 2024, Westbrook-Ikhine posted 32 catches for 497 yards last year for Tennessee, but also managed to somehow score nine touchdowns. In fact, he even scored in seven-out-of-eight games in the middle of the season, despite a ridiculously low target share. He'll provide Miami with even more speed, but it's really hard to see him being any kind of consistent contributor without some major injuries occurring. It's going to be tough to merit keeping him on dynasty rosters moving forward.
Former Carolina Panthers safety Xavier Woods has signed a new two-year $10 million deal with the Tennessee Titans. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news. Woods spent the last three seasons in Carolina, leading the team in tackles with 119 in 2024. Perhaps most impressively, he started all 17 games and played 100% of Carolina's defensive snaps (1,218). The former sixth-round pick will now join his fourth team since being selected by Dallas in the 2017 NFL Draft and should provide a sure-tackling asset for the Titans and will work in tandem with fellow safety Mike Brown, who is returning to the team on a one-year deal. Tennessee still has some work to do on the offensive side of the ball, but they've shored up a defense that allowed the third-fewest yards per game in the league a season ago (311.2).

Per Kevin Patra of NFL.com, New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore is excited to team up with quarterback Derek Carr for the 2025 season. "I think we've been consistent through this whole process," Moore said. "We feel really good about Derek, and we're excited to team up with him...We want him here, and it'll be a good situation." The Saints' new head coach also noted he believes that the veteran can improve from last year's injury-plagued season. Carr and New Orleans started 2024 on fire, scoring 44+ points in each of their first two contests. However, it was all downhill from there, as the team imploded and the 33-year-old dealt with abdomen and hand injuries that forced him to miss seven games. If the Fresno State alum can stay healthy, he'll undoubtedly be more productive this upcoming season. The vote of confidence from his head coach is nice, but he projects as nothing more than a middling QB2 and potential streaming option regarding fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has signed a two-year contract with the Miami Dolphins. The agreement is worth $6.5 million, with $3.2 million guaranteed. Westbrook-Ikhine is coming off his best season as a pro in 2024. Despite not snagging his first catch until after the Titans' bye in Week 5, he'd go on to set career-highs with 497 yards and an impressive nine TDs. However, he posted just one game with more than three receptions. It's an interesting move for Miami, who continues to load up the offensive side of the ball. The 27-year-old's path to touches is not a clear one, as he'll vie for targets with fellow wideouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, as well as Jonnu Smith, who broke out last season, leading the team in receptions (88).
From RotoBaller
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms on a one-year $5 million deal worth up to $6 million guaranteed. Despite the increased production from fourth-year wideout Rashod Bateman a season ago, Baltimore sought to bolster their wide receiver corps -- bringing a veteran presence into the locker room. Hopkins spent most of 2024 with Kansas City after a mid-season trade with the Tennessee Titans and racked up a 41-catch 437-yard line in ten games with four touchdowns. The 32-year-old is not the presence he once was on the outside, but he gives superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson another set of reliable hands. While Hopkins may still have some juice, he'll be competing with fellow wideout Zay Flowers and tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely for targets on a team that ranked second-to-last in pass attempts per game in 2024 (27.5).
From RotoBaller
The Buffalo Bills have re-signed running back Ty Johnson on a two-year deal. The amount of the contract is undisclosed. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported the news. The Maryland product tied his career high with four total touchdowns last season and was a valuable asset on third downs for the team. Johnson played the second-most snaps of all Bills' RBs in 2024 and will likely again slot in as a change-of-pace option and third-down specialist behind incumbent starter James Cook. However, he'll still have second-year back Ray Davis to compete with for touches, and Davis out-carried Johnson 113-41 in just his rookie season. Despite what this means for the team on the field, it's unlikely to make an impact regarding fantasy. The 27-year-old presents as nothing more than a potential low-end handcuff.

Free-agent quarterback Jacoby Brissett plans to sign with the Arizona Cardinals, a source tells ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Brissett, who spent last year with the New England Patriots, will become the new backup to starter Kyler Murray in Arizona. Eleven of Brissett's 53 career starts have come with new Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing as his quarterbacks coach in Cleveland. The 32-year-old Brissett started the 2024 season as the Patriots' starter under center as they waited on first-rounder Drake Maye. In his eight appearances (five starts), Brissett struggled in a lackluster offense without many weapons, going 95-for-161 (59%) with 826 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception as a low-ceiling game manager. He is a respected veteran backup, but the Cardinals offense will be in trouble if Murray misses time with an injury in 2025.

Former Kansas City Chiefs safety Justin Reid reached an agreement on Tuesday with the New Orleans Saints on a three-year, $31.5 million deal that includes $22.25 million fully guaranteed, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Prairieville, Louisiana, native will be returning home after spending the last three years with the Chiefs. He played his first four seasons with the Houston Texans after they took him in the third round (68th overall) in the 2018 NFL draft. The 28-year-old defensive back has been solid in all seven of his NFL seasons with 80-plus total tackles in five of his seven campaigns. He played a critical role in helping the Chiefs make it to three straight Super Bowls and recorded 265 tackles (194 solo), four sacks, three interceptions, 23 pass breakups and a forced fumble in his three years in KC. Reid will be a starter in New Orleans alongside former Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu.
From RotoBaller
The Dallas Cowboys agreed to a one-year deal worth $3 million with free-agent defensive end Payton Turner on Tuesday, sources tell ESPN Dallas' Todd Archer. Turner will receive $2 million guaranteed. Payton, the former 28th overall pick in the first round in 2021 by the New Orleans Saints out of Houston, played in a combined 15 games for the Saints in his first three NFL seasons due to injuries. However, the 26-year-old pass-rusher stayed healthy in 2024 and had 21 tackles (10 solo), two sacks, four pass breakups and two forced fumbles in 16 games (no starts). The Cowboys will be hoping their defensive coaches will be able to get more out of a player that has had just five sacks in 31 career games in his first four years in the league. Turner will likely be a rotational pass-rusher for Dallas and won't be on the IDP radar.
From RotoBaller
The Atlanta Falcons are signing former San Francisco 49ers pass-rusher Leonard Floyd on Tuesday to a one-year deal worth $10 million, sources tell NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. After being released by the 49ers on Tuesday, Floyd will come home, as he went to the University of Georgia and is a Chauncey, Georgia, native. The 32-year-old veteran joins a Falcons team that is in desperate need of a pass rush after they ranked near the bottom of the league in sacks in 2024. Floyd, the former ninth overall pick by the Chicago Bears in 2016, has at least 8.5 sacks in each of the last five seasons, including double-digit sacks twice. He has also played in at least 16 games in each year since 2018. Over the last five seasons, Floyd has totaled 48 sacks in 84 games (83 starts), so it's a big addition to Atlanta's D-line. In his lone season in San Fran in 2024, Floyd had 42 tackles, 8.5 sacks and eight tackles for loss in 17 starts.
From RotoBaller
Dynasty | The Saints have re-signed tight end Juwan Johnson to a three-year deal. Dynasty Analysis: Johnson had a solid season with 50 catches for 548 yards and three touchdowns last year. While it seems he has a ceiling as a TE2, he's also fairly reliable. Going back to New Orleans should provide some stability to his value, especially if Taysom Hill doesn't return. Johnson should remain on dynasty rosters and serve as a starter for dynasty teams lacking a truly elite option at the position.
Pass-rusher Anthony Nelson re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday for two years and $10 million, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Nelson's new deal can max out at $12 million through incentives. Nelson was originally drafted by the Buccaneers in the fourth round (107th overall) in 2019 out of Iowa, and he's spent all six of his NFL seasons in Tampa. The 28-year-old linebacker will return to head coach Todd Bowle's defense for another two years after recording 40 total tackles (25 solo) for the second straight season. He added four sacks, six tackles for loss, 13 QB hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 17 regular-season games (six starts). Because Nelson isn't an every-down linebacker, he's off the fantasy radar, but he's been a key player for the Bucs over the years and has 17.5 sacks since 2021.
From RotoBaller
The New Orleans Saints agreed to terms on an undisclosed one-year deal to re-sign wide receiver Dante Pettis on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Pettis began the 2024 season with the Chicago Bears before being released in September with an injury settlement. He eventually latched onto the Saints' practice squad before becoming a part of their offense late in the season. The 29-year-old finished his sixth year in the NFL with 12 receptions on 28 targets for just 120 yards and one touchdown in eight starts. The former second-round pick (44th overall) by the San Francisco 49ers in 2018 out of the University of Washington had his best season in his rookie year, when he had 27 catches for 467 yards and five touchdowns on 45 targets in 12 games (seven starts). Pettis will look for a bigger role in his first full season in New Orleans but will most likely have a small role behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.
