Devon Achane Aug 27 4:50pm ET
    Devon Achane

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane (calf) was not practicing on Wednesday, according to Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald. Achane has been dealing with a lingering calf injury throughout most of August. However, earlier on Wednesday, the team's general manager noted that he expects their top running back to be "ready" for their Week 1 match against the Colts. While the Dolphins could be closely monitoring his workload, seeing him continue to sit out in practice is not a positive sign. Fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on his status leading up to Week 1. When healthy, Achane is one of the most productive running backs in the sport. Last season, Achane enjoyed a breakout campaign totaling 907 yards on the ground and 592 through the air. If he were to miss time, rookie Ollie Gordon II would likely be bumped up the depth chart.

Tyreek Hill Aug 27 4:00pm ET
    Tyreek Hill

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (oblique) did not take part in Wednesday's practice, according to Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald. Hill has only been on the field a handful of times this month due to a nagging oblique injury, but the Dolphins have remained optimitic that he'll be ready for Week 1 of the regular season on Sunday, Sept. 7, versus the Indianapolis Colts. Fantasy managers should be more alarmed about the 31-year-old speedster's Week 1 status if he still isn't practicing next week. Hill's lack of activity in training camp isn't endearing him to fantasy managers coming off a disappointing 2024 campaign, although the five-time All-Pro did still have 959 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 81 receptions. He's no longer a slam dunk as a WR1 in fantasy, with most of his fantasy value resting on the health of oft-injured quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

    Clyde Edwards-Helaire Aug 27 3:40pm ET
    Clyde Edwards-Helaire

The Kansas City Chiefs signed running backs Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Carson Steele to their practice squad on Wednesday, sources tell Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest. Edwards-Helaire was released by the New Orleans Saints on roster cutdown day on Tuesday, but he will quickly land on his feet with the team that selected him 32nd overall in 2020 out of LSU. The 26-year-old ran for 803 yards and four touchdowns on 181 carries in his first year in the NFL, but he never came close to matching those numbers over the next four years before KC cut him last season. While CEH probably should be considered a long shot to find a significant backfield role with the Chiefs again, he does bring experience and knowledge of head coach Andy Reid's offense with him. Steele will return after carrying the ball 56 times for 183 yards and no TDs in 17 games in his rookie season in 2024.

Malachi Corley Aug 27 3:20pm ET
    Malachi Corley

Former New York Jets wide receiver Malachi Corley is signing an undisclosed deal with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, sources tell Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. Corley chose the Browns but had multiple opportunities on the open market. Corley, 23, only made it one season with the New York Jets after they took him in the third round (65th overall) out of Western Kentucky. He played in only nine games (83 offensive snaps) with Gang Green last year and caught just three of his six targets for 16 yards. Corley will now head to the AFC North, where there is plenty of opportunity in the team's receiving room behind Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that Corley will begin on Cleveland's practice squad. For now, he's just a name to monitor for receiver depth in deep fantasy leagues.

Jayden Reed Aug 27 3:20pm ET
    Jayden Reed

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said that he's "hopeful" that wide receiver Jayden Reed (foot) will be ready for the team's Week 1 contest against the division-rival Detroit Lions on Sunday, Sept. 7. Reed is "trending the right way." The 25-year-old has been dealing with a lingering foot injury this summer, and although he has yet to return to practice, he did ditch his walking boot and should be able to play in the regular-season opener if he gets back on the practice field next week. Green Bay's receiving corps is especially banged up going into the season, with Christian Watson (knee) on the PUP list and Romeo Doubs (back) and Dontayvion Wicks (calf) also dealing with nagging issues. When healthy, Reed can score on the ground or through the air anytime he touches the ball, but injuries and inconsitent usage have made him a boom/bust WR4/flex fantasy asset.

    A.J. Brown Aug 27 3:10pm ET
    A.J. Brown

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) appeared to be practicing on Wednesday, according to Zach Berman of The Athletic. The Eagles don't have to release an official practice report until Sunday, though, so we won't really know more specifics on Brown's practice participation until then. The 28-year-old also looked good while doing a pre-game workout before the team's preseason finale last Friday, so all signs are pointing to Brown being ready to roll for Week 1 of the regular season on Thursday night against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 4. The three-time Pro Bowler had his third straight 1,000 yard season in 2024 in his third year in Philly on his way to helping the team win their second Super Bowl championship. Injuries can be an issue, but when healthy, Brown is a top-10 fantasy wideout in one of the best offenses in football.

    From RotoBaller

Chris Godwin Aug 27 2:00pm ET
    Chris Godwin

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that wide receiver Chris Godwin (ankle) is "getting healthier by the day." Bowles said he can't put a specific timeline on when Godwin might return, but he said it will hopefully be "sooner than later." When asked specifically when the earliest we could see Godwin make his 2025 debut, Bowles said anywhere from Week 2 to Week 5. The 29-year-old passed his physical on Tuesday and will not open the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, which suggests the Bucs think he has a shot to return before Week 5. Still, Godwin needs to get back on the practice field after missing all of training camp and the preseason following his season-ending dislocated left ankle in Week 7 of 2024. Rookie Emeka Egbuka will serve as the team's No. 2 until Godwin can return. In fantasy leagues with IR spots, Godwin is worth a late-round flier.

Jelani Woods Aug 27 1:40pm ET
    Jelani Woods

The New York Jets claimed tight end Jelani Woods off waivers on Wednesday from the Indianapolis Colts, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Woods did not make the Colts' final 53-man roster heading into the 2025 season, and now he'll look to make his return to NFL action with the Jets for the first time since 2022. The 26-year-old will be competing for TE2 duties with Jeremy Ruckert in New York behind rookie first-rounder Mason Taylor. Woods, a former third-round pick (73rd overall) in 2022, caught 25 of 40 targets for 312 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games (two starts) in his rookie season with Indy. However, a serious hamstring injury caused him to miss each of the last two years, causing the Colts to move on. Woods would only be worth a look on the waiver wire in fantasy this year if Taylor misses time with an injury.

Kendrick Bourne Aug 27 1:20pm ET
    Kendrick Bourne

The New England Patriots are releasing veteran wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (foot) on Wednesday, sources tell Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Bourne requested to be released so that he can try to latch on with another team that doesn't have such a crowded receiving picture. The 30-year-old missed most of August with a foot injury, but he's healthy now and looking to contribute somewhere else in 2025. The former undrafted pass-catcher out of Eastern Washington spent the first four years of his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers, but it wasn't until he came to New England that he really blossomed as a receiver. Bourne had a career-best 55-800-5 line in 17 games (five starts) in 2021, but he dropped off considerably the following year and hasn't been the same after suffering an injury in 2023. It's possibly he'll look to reunite with the Niners, who could use the wideout depth.

    From RotoBaller

Tommy DeVito Aug 27 1:20pm ET
    Tommy DeVito

The New England Patriots claimed quarterback Tommy DeVito off waivers on Wednesday from the New York Giants, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The Giants didn't have a need for DeVito any longer after signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston and trading up to draft rookie Jaxson Dart in the first round in April. The 27-year-old will now head to the AFC East, where he'll serve as the QB3 behind starter Drake Maye and backup Joshua Dobbs. DeVito went undrafted out of college before joining the Giants and making his NFL debut in 2023, when he started six games. In his two NFL seasons with the G-Men, DeVito has completed 65.3 percent of his 222 pass attempts for 1,358 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He is well off the fantasy radar but could push Dobbs for QB2 duties during the year behind Maye.

Jalen Royals Aug 27 1:10pm ET
    Jalen Royals

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals (knee) is currently banged up and missed practice on Tuesday, but FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz says he's a name to watch during Rashee Rice's six-game suspension to begin the 2025 season. Wideout Tyquan Thornton is another name to watch after he had an exceptional training camp to earn himself a 53-man roster spot. Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown and tight end Travis Kelce should be quarterback Patrick Mahomes' top aerial targets through the first six games with Rice suspended, but both Royals and Thornton could also get involved. The 22-year-old Royals is currently battling knee tendinitis that caused him to miss the preseason finale, and his availability for the Week 1 regular-season opener against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil on Friday, Sept. 5, is in question. JuJu Smith-Schuster is another receiver who could benefit from Rice's suspension.

    From RotoBaller

Cade Otton Aug 27 1:00pm ET
    Cade Otton

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that tight end Cade Otton (leg) is dealing with a leg injury and soreness, and will miss "a little bit." Buccaneers.com writer Brianna Dix reports that we should know next week if Otton's injury will impact his status for the Week 1 regular-season opener versus the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. This is something fantasy managers in TE-premium leagues need to monitor heading into the season opener. If the 26-year-old misses practice time next week and cannot go against Atlanta, the Bucs would likely mix and match at the position with Payne Durham, Devin Culp and Ko Kieft, with none of the trio being very reliable for DFS lineups. Otton was sidelined for a lot of training camp with a hamstring issue, too, so he hasn't gotten a lot of reps with the starting offense going into the regular season. RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 22 tight end in fantasy.

    Marquez Valdes-Scantling Aug 27 12:40pm ET
    Marquez Valdes-Scantling

The San Francisco 49ers are signing veteran free-agent wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday, a source tells Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. Valdes-Scantling was unable to make the Seattle Seahawks' final 53-man roster heading into the regular season, but he'll remain in the NFC West division and join a 49ers team with a banged-up receiver room. MVS was choosing betwen the 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers. The 30-year-old still shouldn't be drafted in 12-team fantasy leagues, but he should have a better shot at playing time early in 2025 in the Bay Area. Brandon Aiyuk (knee) will miss at least the first four games (and possibly more), while Jauan Jennings (calf) is also up in the air for Week 1 against Seattle. MVS has never had more than 42 catches, 690 yards or six touchdowns in a single season, though, and most likely will just give San Fran an extra body for receiver depth.

    From RotoBaller

Rashee Rice Aug 27 12:30pm ET
    Rashee Rice

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is accepting and will serve a six-game suspension to start the 2025 regular season, sources tell Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The league and the NFL Players Association are working to finalize the settlement, which will end the limbo surrounding Rice's off-the-field issues. He will be eligible to return for a Week 7 divisional clash against the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 19. This is obviously a big hit to the 25-year-old's fantasy value this year, but managers already knew a four- to six-game suspension was coming, and Rice sitting out games to begin the year is actually better than him missing key games down the stretch into the fantasy playoffs. Despite the suspension, Rice is worth stashing in all fantasy formats, and he could even come at a nice discount. Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown will see more targets in the first six weeks.

Kyle Hamilton Aug 27 12:20pm ET
    Kyle Hamilton

The Baltimore Ravens and All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton are finalizing a four-year contract extension on Wednesday that will be worth over $100 million, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The former first-rounder has quickly become one of the best safeties in the league and has been a Pro Bowler each of the last two seasons. The 24-year-old is one of the top IDP safeties to target for fantasy because of his abilities in coverage down the field and in the run game. In his three seasons in Baltimore to begin his NFL career, Hamilton has recorded 250 tackles (186 solo), seven sacks, 18 tackles for loss, 15 QB hits, five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 27 pass breakups, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 48 games (36 starts). For a strong Ravens defense, Hamilton is one of their most important players.

    From RotoBaller

Jordan Poyer Aug 27 12:10pm ET
    Jordan Poyer

The Buffalo Bills are signing former All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday, according to his agents, Drew Roenhaus and Kyle Lincoln. After a year with the Miami Dolphins, Poyer will return to the team that he played for from 2017-23. In 16 regular-season appearances for the Dolphins last year, the 34-year-old veteran defensive back had 98 tackles (51 solo) and three pass breakups while missing one game due to injury. He was an every-down player for Miami's defense, although he didn't record any interceptions or sacks. Poyer was an All-Pro in 2021 with Buffalo and was a Pro Bowler for the first time in his career in 2022. He probably won't be a standout defensive back in his return to the Bills, but he clearly has some juice left and will be a valuable and experienced addition to their secondary.

Rashee Rice Aug 27 12:00pm ET
    Rashee Rice

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the NFL is aiming to place at least a six-game suspension on Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. According to Schefter, this suspension would begin at the start of the season. The 25-year-old is scheduled to have a disciplinary hearing with the league on September 30. While this date appeared to have pushed a potential suspension until later in the season, this recent update suggests the league is looking to suspend Rice earlier in the season. Fantasy managers should continue to closely monitor this situation as Rice could be in danger of missing at least the first six weeks of the regular season. Despite suffering a season-ending LCL tear in Week 4, Rice appears to be on the fast track to a breakout season, tallying 288 yards and two scores in the first three weeks. If Rice were to miss six games, second-year wideout Xavier Worthy would likely see a significant increase in targets.

    From RotoBaller

Riley Patterson Aug 27 11:10am ET
    Riley Patterson

The Miami Dolphins will sign kicker Riley Patterson to their practice squad, general manager Chris Grier said Wednesday. Miami will spend at least the first four weeks without starting kicker Jason Sanders (hip) and needs a bit of help at the kicker spot. Patterson kicked for three teams in 2024, going 16-for-16 on extra points and 4-for-7 on field goals. As long as Sanders is injured, Patterson should have a solid chance to work his way onto the 53-man roster, but he will be no more than a shaky deep-league streamer at the kicking position in fantasy.

    From RotoBaller

Devon Achane Aug 27 11:00am ET
    Devon Achane

Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said the club should have running back De'Von Achane (calf) available for Week 1, according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN. The star back's status for the start of the season has been something of an open question, but the club's optimism Wednesday certainly was a good sign. Achane piled up 78 catches and six receiving touchdowns last season to go with 907 rushing yards and six more scores on the ground, making him one of the most dynamic fantasy assets in the league. He looks ready to go for the Dolphins' opener against Indianapolis.

    From RotoBaller

Darren Waller Aug 27 11:00am ET
    Darren Waller

Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said newly signed tight end Darren Waller is not injured, but rather taking things "cautiously," according to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN. The veteran came out of retirement to sign with Miami, so the club has opted to take things slowly in practice as they approach the first week, according to Grier. Jonnu Smith had a breakout season playing for the Dolphins a year ago, piling up 88 catches and eight touchdowns, but was traded to Pittsburgh during the offseason. Waller figures to be the team's top receiving option from the tight end spot.
