Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams was recently suspended two games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Now, Williams could be in even more trouble after an incident with the police earlier this month. Williams was the passenger of a routine traffic stop on October 8th. He discussed the incident with the organization and it seemed like a minor issue. That doesn't appear to be the case as Williams reportedly had a gun on him in the car. The Detroit police are investigating why Williams avoided arrest after a gun was found in the car. Possibly this incident blows over, but this is something fantasy managers should keep an eye on right now.

The Green Bay Packers have signed linebacker Jamin Davis to their practice squad on Tuesday. This news comes about a week after Davis was released by the Washington Commanders. It's a bit odd to see the Commanders give up on the their 2021 first round pick so quickly. Davis played in five games this season and recorded 13 tackles and one tackle for loss before being released. He figures to serve as depth and could end up giving this Packers defense a boost at some point. This is a low-risk and high-reward type of situation for Green Bay.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest) did not practice on Tuesday. Lazard was unable to suit up for the Jets' Week 8 game against the New England Patriots. He is trending towards missing a second straight week as the Jets will host the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football. Lazard had been pretty good in 2024 prior to his injury. He still sits as the WR17 despite missing Week 8. He has recorded 30 receptions for 412 yards and five touchdowns as one of quarterback Aaron Rodgers' (knee/hamstring) preferred targets. If Lazard were to miss another game, wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams would be in line to receive the lion's share of targets. Running back Breece Hall should mix in as well. The Texans have a quality defense and Lazard's absence would hurt the Jets' passing game as a whole because he would be one less weapon the Texans would have to focus on.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce (groin) did not practice on Tuesday. Pierce's lack of practice comes at a time when the Texans need all hands on deck. Pierce serves as the Texans' backup running back and kick returner. He is far more valuable to the team in his kick return role because starting running back Joe Mixon is receiving the vast majority of the running back touches in this offense. Pierce's lack of practice is relatively inconsequential for fantasy. When Pierce and Mixon have both been healthy in 2024, Pierce has yet to clear 1.96 fantasy points. With two DNPs under his belt at this point in the week, Pierce is trending in the wrong direction. The Texans will visit the New York Jets on Thursday. If Pierce were to miss the game, Dare Ogunbowale would step up behind him. Wide receiver Robert Woods would likely be in line to take over some of Pierce's return duties as well.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cameron Sutton had his eight-game suspension lifted on Tuesday. Sutton was suspended this offseason for violating the league's personal conduct policy following a domestic abuse incident in the Spring. Sutton will return to a Steelers defense that is once again near the top of the league. The unit is No. 9 in yards per game allowed and No. 2 in points per game allowed. Sutton last played in 2023 for the Detroit Lions. He recorded a career-high 65 tackles and caught one interception. Sutton spent the first six years of his career in Pittsburgh and returned to the team this past offseason. He will provide depth in a crowded cornerback room that includes Joey Porter Jr., Donte Jackson, and Beanie Bishop Jr.

The Green Bay Packers signed linebacker Jamin Davis on Tuesday. Davis is a former first-round pick by the Washington Commanders in 2021. He had fallen out of favor with the new Commanders regime in 2024 and was released prior to Week 8. Davis has been a quality player at times. If he can reclaim the form he exhibited earlier in his career, the Packers will have a nice addition to their linebacking corp. The Packers' defense has been one of the most formidable in the league in 2024. They have had a lot of success shutting down opposing quarterbacks and creating turnovers. Davis would likely help to shore up an already solid rushing defense as well. For fantasy purposes, look for this move to bolster the starting prospects of the Packers D/ST.

The Carolina Panthers dealt star wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday. With the Panthers essentially playing for nothing at this point, many wondered if they would trade any other veterans. Running back Chuba Hubbard and cornerback Jaycee Horn have topped the list of potential trade targets for a while. However, it sounds like the Panthers are not planning to deal either player. The Panthers need to hold on to as much talent as they can. Both Horn and Hubbard are 25 years old or younger. Horn has played well when healthy and Hubbard has been excellent as the Panthers' lead back in 2024 despite the ineptitudes of the offense. Hubbard has rushed for 593 yards and three touchdowns this season. He currently sits at No. 5 in rushing yards in the league. For fantasy purposes, a trade would not necessarily be welcome for Hubbard if he were to wind up in a committee given how well he has performed in his current situation.

Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs (knee) was officially placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. It was announced earlier in the day that Diggs had torn his ACL in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Moving Diggs to IR gives the Texans the roster space to potentially add another wide receiver for depth. The Texans will still be without standout wide receiver Nico Collins (hamstring) until Week 10. This opens up a huge void of targets and opportunities for second-year wide receiver Tank Dell. Dell was excellent in 2023 when he was the only show in town. The Texans will need him to step up in a big way in the coming weeks while they wait for Collins to ramp back up. The Texans will likely also spread to ball around to wide receivers Xavier Hutchinson, Robert Woods, and John Metchie III, along with tight end Dalton Schultz.

Dynasty | Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's game and will be lost for the season. Dynasty Analysis: This is a brutal development for the Texans and likely even worse in dynasty leagues. Diggs was having a solid first year with Houston, with 47 catches, 496 yards and three touchdowns on the year, keeping him the top ten in terms of fantasy production from wide receivers. This is going to really cloud his future, though. Diggs is already 30 years old and restructured his contract to become a free agent at the end of the season - he'll do so now as an aging receiver coming off a major injury. He may end up staying in Houston on a reduced contract (he's said to love it there), but his days of being a WR1 in dynasty leagues may have just come to a close. His ranking and ADP are going to sink with this news.
Dynasty | The Ravens have traded for Carolina wide receiver Diontae Johnson. Dynasty Analysis: The Ravens acquired Johnson and a 2025 sixth-round pick from the Panthers for a 2024 fifth-round selection. He's posted a 30/357/3 line thus far this season in Carolina and with the Panthers in turmoil, this comes as no surprise. While his stats may not set the world on fire, his first few games were downright dreadful and he's really come on strong over the past few weeks. Johnson will likely find the grass a little greener with the Ravens and should have a nice rebound over the second half of the year. He'll also be motivated to have a solid end to the year as he's set to become a free agent at the end of the year. Ultimately, this trade should stop any temporary slide to his dynasty value.
Dynasty | The Colts have benched quarterback Anthony Richardson. Dynasty Analysis: The Colts are 4-4 and it seems Head Coach Shane Steichen may be feeling some heat. Richardson has come under fire this week after "tapping out" during the Colts most recent contest and has been borderline miserable all year, posting just 958 passing yards with four touchdowns and seven interceptions on a completion percentage of, wait for it, 44.4%. The Colts will turn to Joe Flacco and say all the right things, but Richardson may have just lost the locker room for good. His dynasty value is going to start sinking quickly after this move.
Dynasty | The Colts are turning to Joe Flacco as their new starting quarterback. Dynasty Analysis: And yet again, a team goes whacko for Flacco. With Anthony Richardson failing (and yes, flailing) as a starter, Indianapolis is going to attempt to salvage their year with the grizzled veteran. We've seen this story before - Flacco has been solid in relief time and time again as he reaches the end of the line. He was borderline brilliant earlier this season, posting 716 yards with seven touchdowns and one interception on four games with Indianapolis so far this season, so he still has juice left in the tank. Flacco should be no worse than a short-term QB2 the rest of the way, though his dynasty candle has long since melted.
The Indianapolis Colts have named veteran quarterback Joe Flacco the starter for the Week 9 game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football. This move comes after the continuous struggles of second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson despite the belief that he would take time to develop as a raw prospect out of the 2023 draft class. Through Richardson's first 10 starts, he has compiled a 5-5 record while completing just 50.2% of his passes for 1,535 yards, seven touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Flacco led the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs in 2023 and has the chance to do the same for Indy in 2024. Flacco has appeared in four games this season, throwing for 716 yards, seven touchdowns, and one interception. He is now a must-add fantasy option in two-QB and Superflex leagues. His return to the starting lineup should provide a boost for wideouts Josh Downs and Michael Pittman Jr.
From RotoBaller
The Cleveland Browns are releasing running back Gary Brightwell from the practice squad on Tuesday, according to NFL.com. The 2021 sixth-round pick out of Arizona spent the first three seasons of his career with the New York Giants before joining Cleveland's roster this year. He played in two games in 2024 but did not log a carry or reception. Overall, the 26-year-old has rushed 41 times for 164 yards and one touchdown in 37 career games.
From RotoBaller
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette has had a modest start to his NFL career, catching 22 of his 35 targets for 211 yards and three touchdowns through his first eight games. However, the Panthers are trading Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens, opening the door for Legette to be the clear WR1 for Bryce Young or Andy Dalton. It's worth noting Adam Thielen (hamstring) is eligible to return from Injured Reserve and rookie Jalen Coker has come on in recent weeks, but expect the Panthers to feature its first-round pick heavily with an eye toward the future. Legette's upside is higher with Dalton in the lineup, but even if Young takes over the QB1 duties for the foreseeable future, Legette should see targets in bunches.
From RotoBaller
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington will enter the team's starting lineup following the season-ending collarbone injury suffered by Christian Kirk. Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) are also dealing with minor injuries, so Washington should have the opportunity to earn targets moving forward. Washington, a 2023 sixth-round pick out of Penn State, caught 16 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season. As a depth wideout this year, he's been limited to six receptions for 67 yards. However, he reportedly had a strong training camp. The 22-year-old is not likely to be a significant factor in fantasy football leagues of 12 teams or fewer, but managers in leagues of 14+ teams could take the flier on him on the waiver wire.
From RotoBaller
The Indianapolis Colts will roll with veteran Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback on Sunday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings following the early-career struggles of Anthony Richardson. Richardson has started in just 10 games since being selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, completing 50.2% of his passes for 1,535 yards, seven touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He's racked up 378 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. The Colts are moving him to the bench, but that does not mean his time in Indianapolis is nearing an end. ESPN Colts writer Stephen Holder reporters a team source told him, "We are not quitting on Anthony. That will be the story, but that is not the case." Either way, this is somewhat of a surprising development since most viewed Richardson as a long-term project due to his lack of experience in college and the NFL. Fantasy managers might consider dropping Richardson in redraft leagues, but he remains a hold in dynasty formats.
From RotoBaller
The Carolina Panthers are trading wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The former Pittsburgh Steeler is heading back to the AFC North. Johnson has been rumored to be on the trade block as Carolina is in the middle of the lost season, and he now joins a Ravens' squad that is firmly in Super Bowl contention. The 28-year-old has hauled in 30 of his 58 targets for 357 yards and three touchdowns this season, though his best games have come with Andy Dalton at the helm. Johnson's fantasy ceiling likely takes a hit in the Baltimore offense that features a run-heavy attack. His presence could also negatively affect Zay Flowers, and it will surely hurt the fantasy outlook of Rashod Bateman. The biggest fantasy football winner here is quarterback Lamar Jackson.
From RotoBaller
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving (toe) is playing through a toe injury, but the rookie said he does not expect the ailment to limit his playing time. The fourth-round pick out of Oregon has handled at least 10 touches in seven of his eight games this season, and he caught a career-high seven passes in the Week 8 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Although he's not a must-start stud in a shared backfield with Rachaad White, he has provided solid value for fantasy managers considering his late-round cost in preseason drafts. However, he is set the face a Kansas City Chiefs defense that has surrendered the fewest fantasy points per game to running backs this season, so his ceiling and floor could be limited in Week 9. Expect him to be a fixture on the injury report, but it sounds like he's not at risk of missing time.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans wide receiver Stefon Diggs suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts. The veteran wide receiver went down with a non-contact injury while running a route. Unfortunately, many fantasy players knew Diggs' season was likely over after seeing him go down. The Texans' wide receiver core has gone from an elite unit to average, at best, until Nico Collins (hamstring) returns in a few weeks. In the meantime, Tank Dell will operate as the No. 1 wide receiver, with John Metchie III, Xavier Hutchinson, and Robert Woods also earning targets. Fantasy players with C.J. Stroud on their roster should explore replacement options on the waiver wire until Collins is back in the lineup.
