Kenny Clark Jul 21 7:10pm CT
    Kenny Clark

Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Kenny Clark agreed to a three-year, $64 million extension with the club. The Packers selected the 28-year-old with the No. 27 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. In 123 games with Green Bay, he's totaled 379 tackles, seven forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries. Clark also has 34 sacks on his resume, including a career-high 7.5 sacks during the 2023-24 campaign.

Jayden Reed Jul 21 7:00pm CT
    Jayden Reed

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (undisclosed) was placed on the Non-Football Injury list on Sunday. The second-year wideout suffered an injury while away from the team. However, he is "totally fine" and expected to miss only a few days of training camp before his eventual activation. Reed had an impressive first season in the National Football League, amassing 793 yards and eight touchdowns off 64 catches, adding 119 yards and two scores off 11 carries. With Jordan Love anticipated to have a solid year in 2024-25, Reed has 1,000-yard receiving potential, meaning he'll draw plenty of interest from fantasy managers heading toward Week 1.

Cam Akers Jul 21 6:40pm CT
    Cam Akers

Free-agent running back Cam Akers (Achilles) agreed to a deal with the Texans. Houston hosted him for a workout on Sunday. Apparently, things went well, so he'll join a team that already has Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce, and Dare Ogunbowale on the roster. Akers spent four seasons with the Rams before suiting up for the Vikings in 2023. He appeared in six contests for Minnesota, rushing for 138 yards and a touchdown off 38 carries, adding 11 receptions for 70 yards. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old is coming off his second Achilles tear. At any rate, Akers' anticipated volume should help keep him on the field, assuming he remains with the team come Week 1. However, his reduced workload won't earn him a spot on most fantasy rosters.

Lamar Jackson Jul 21 6:30pm CT
    Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (illness) was sent home from the team's first day of training camp. Details surrounding the nature of his symptoms were scarce. However, NFL insider Josina Anderson provided an update, reporting that the signal-caller is dealing with a "pretty bad" illness. Without question, this is not the way anyone would want to start camp. Hopefully, Jackson's sickness won't keep him off the field for an extended period. The two-time MVP is coming off a potent season. He finished by throwing for 3,678 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, adding 821 yards and five scores off 148 carries. Jackson also completed a career-high 67.2% of his passes. Fantasy managers should expect more information regarding his health on Monday.

Christian Harris Jul 21 1:00pm CT
    Christian Harris

Houston Texans third-year linebacker Christian Harris (leg) currently isn't practicing with the team for the start of training camp as he recovers from a soft-tissue injury that isn't considered long-term, according to a league source. Harris, who broke out in his second year in the league in 2023, is expected to make a full recovery before the regular-season opener on Sept. 8 against the division-rival Indianapolis Colts. He has missed three practices but is expected to return soon. The 23-year-old had a career-high 101 tackles (65 solo), two sacks, seven tackles for loss, seven pass breakups and a forced fumble in 16 regular-season games (12 starts) and also returned a pick for a touchdown in a playoff win over Cleveland. While he probably isn't going to be drafted in standard IDP fantasy leagues this fall, he should be on the radar as a streaming option as long as he stays healthy.

Lamar Jackson Jul 21 12:50pm CT
    Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (illness) was sent home from training camp practice on Sunday with an illness. Jackson should return to practice at some point next week and will be a top-five fantasy QB in 2024 after winning his second NFL MVP award in 2023. The biggest storyline of the offseason for the 27-year-old dual-threat signal-caller is that he dropped weight in order to be more agile in 2024, as if he wasn't agile enough already. The biggest question for fantasy managers is whether his drop in weight will make him more injury-prone. New running back Derrick Henry could steal plenty of goal-line opportunities away from Jackson, but he should still maintain high-end fantasy upside heading into his seventh season in the NFL.

Emmanuel Ogbah Jul 21 12:30pm CT
    Emmanuel Ogbah

The Miami Dolphins will host free-agent edge rusher Emmanuel Ogbah for a workout on Monday, according to a source. Ogbah could fill a much-needed pass-rush void for the Dolphins after Shaq Barrett announced his retirement on Saturday. The 30-year-old veteran was productive in a limited role last year in Miami and produced 5.5 sacks on just 25 percent of the defensive snaps, and he could be more productive if he re-signs under new defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. In addition to his 5.5 sacks last year, the former second-round selection (32nd overall) by the Cleveland Browns in 2016 out of Oklahoma State had 20 tackles (seven solo), nine QB hits, an interception and a forced fumble in 15 games (one start). The Dolphins cut Ogbah back in February in a move to save salary cap space.

Avonte Maddox Jul 21 12:20pm CT
    Avonte Maddox

The Philadelphia Eagles placed safety Sydney Brown (knee) on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Sunday, according to a source. It means that Brown won't be able to practice with the rest of the team for the start of training camp this summer. It's not a surprise after Brown tore his ACL in the regular-season finale last year against the New York Giants. He was a core special-teamer in his rookie campaign in 2023 and only played 335 snaps on defense despite the team having a thin secondary. In addition to his knee injury, Brown missed three games due to a hamstring injury. When he saw extended action later in the year, he was typically out of position at slot corner, filling in for Avonte Maddox and Bradley Roby. Despite tearing his ACL late last year, there's a chance the 24-year-old could be ready for the start of the regular season in Week 1 this fall.

Cam Akers Jul 21 12:10pm CT
    Cam Akers

The Houston Texans worked out veteran free-agent running back Cam Akers (Achilles) on Sunday, according to a source. The former second-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams has also drawn interest from the Minnesota Vikings, where he played in 2023 after a trade and suffering another torn Achilles. Akers played in six games last year in Minnesota and rushed for 138 yards and one touchdown, adding 11 catches for 70 yards. Houston also worked out RBs Deon Jackson and Miyan Williams earlier this week as they look for additional backfield depth behind Joe Mixon, Devin Singletary and Dare Ogunbowale, among others. The 25-year-old is going to need to prove he's fully healthy to get a shot as a depth option in the Texans' backfield, and he can be ignored heading into 2024 fantasy drafts.

Justin Reid Jul 21 12:10pm CT
    Justin Reid

The Kansas City Chiefs placed safety Justin Reid (quadriceps) on the Non-Football Injury list for the start of training camp. Head coach Andy Reid said that Reid is "day-to-day." It's not ideal that Reid won't be able to practice with the rest of the team for the start of practices this summer, but it sounds like he'll be able to come off the NFI list sooner than later. The 27-year-old defensive back should be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season as the Chiefs look to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls. The former third-round pick (68th overall) of the Houston Texans in 2018 out of Stanford is entering his third year in KC after posting career-highs in total tackles (95) and sacks (three) while picking off one pass and breaking up seven passes in 16 regular-season games in 2023. He should once again be relevant in IPD fantasy leagues as a key piece of KC's secondary.

Chris Olave Jul 21 11:13am CT
    Chris Olave

Dynasty | The Saints have signed wide receiver Rashid Shaheed to a contract extension. Dynasty Analysis: The modest $5.2 million to keep Shaheed in New Orleans for at least the next two seasons cuold prove to be a relative bargain. Last year, Shaheed took a nice second year leap, finishing with a 46/719/5 line on nearly 16 yards per catch. Chris Olave remains the primary threat for the Saints but the wide receiver corps is spotty after that, leaving Shaheed an opportunity for an even bigger season next year. He remains one of the better late round dynasty picks this off-season.

Kenyan Drake Jul 21 11:13am CT
    Kenyan Drake

Dynasty | Free agent running back Kenyan Drake has retired from the NFL> Dynasty Analysis: In the latest episode of, "Boy, these running backs don't have long careers," Drake hangs up the cleats after eight seasons in the league. His best season came in Arizona in 2020 where he had nearly 1,000 rushing yards and scored ten touchdowns. From a dynasty perspective, Drake will always be remembered as a player who managers always wanted to see have a chance at true bellcow duties but never really got the opportunity to see that happen. Drake spent time with the Dolphins, Cardinals, Raiders, Ravens, Packers and Browns. He can now be safely dropped from even the deepest dynasty rosters.

Erick All Jul 20 9:20pm CT
    Erick All

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Erick All Jr. (knee) was placed on the active/NFI list. The rookie, selected with the No. 115 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, sustained a torn ACL while still with the University of Iowa. He has made some progress in his recovery. However, as expected, the Bengals won't take any chances. At any rate, All has an uphill climb to surpass Mike Gesicki and Drew Sample on the depth chart. But the Bengals haven't had consistency at the position for years, so All may get a chance to prove his worth during the 2024-25 campaign, assuming he gets cleared.

Shaquil Barrett Jul 20 9:00pm CT
    Shaquil Barrett

Miami Dolphins linebacker Shaquil Barrett announced his retirement. The 31-year-old signed with the Dolphins this offseason. However, he won't suit up for the team, citing his desire to spend more time with his family. Barrett spent nine years in the National Football League. In 131 games with the Broncos and Buccaneers, he totaled 400 tackles, adding 59 sacks, 23 forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, and three interceptions. Barrett is also a two-time Super Bowl winner and a two-time Pro Bowler.

Rashid Shaheed Jul 20 8:50pm CT
    Rashid Shaheed

Wide receiver Rashid Shaheed agreed to a one-year, $5.2 million contract to remain in New Orleans. He spent 27 games with the Saints over the last two seasons, totaling 74 catches for 1,207 yards and seven touchdowns. While Shaheed could have a few decent fantasy performances during the 2024-25 campaign, his most significant contributions will likely continue to come as a member of special teams, with the 25-year-old making the Pro Bowl last season as a return specialist.

CeeDee Lamb Jul 20 8:40pm CT
    CeeDee Lamb

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is not expected to report to training camp in Oxnard, California, without a contract extension. For this reason, the Cowboys have made it a priority to get things done. The wideout is coming off a stellar year, finishing the 2023-24 campaign by amassing career-highs in receptions (135), targets (181), receiving yards (1,749), and touchdowns (12). He is due to make nearly $18 million in 2024-25. But with other receivers like Justin Jefferson and A.J. Brown getting new contracts this offseason, Lamb wants to be paid accordingly. Assuming the 25-year-old reports to training camp and is ready for Week 1, he's expected to be one of the top fantasy producers this season.

    T.J. Edwards Jul 20 1:00pm CT
    T.J. Edwards

Chicago Bears linebacker T.J. Edwards (undisclosed) will be limited at the start of training camp this summer, according to head coach Matt Eberflus. Edwards was on the field during walk-throughs on Saturday, and it's "nothing major." He is "close" to being back on the field at full speed, so he should have no problem being ready for the start of the 2024 regular season this fall. The 27-year-old is recovering from a minor undisclosed injury that he suffered during OTAs and minicamp. Edwards enters the 2024 campaign as a top-10 fantasy linebacker in IDP leagues after posting his third straight season with 100-plus combined tackles in 2023. In his first year in Chicago, he had 155 tackles (91 solo), a career-high 2.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, eight QB hits, a career-high three interceptions, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 17 starts.

Dameon Pierce Jul 20 12:30pm CT
    Dameon Pierce

Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce, who will enter the 2024 season as the backup to new lead back Joe Mixon, has looked good early on in training camp. Pierce was more decisive on his runs on the first day of camp on Saturday and could form a strong 1-2 punch with Mixon if he continues to look this good once the pads go on and to open the regular season. The 24-year-old former fourth-round pick in 2022 out of Florida nearly ran for 1,000 yards in just 13 games in his rookie season in 2022 before disappointing in his sophomore year in 2023 and losing the starting job to Devin Singletary. Pierce could excel with Houston moving to an outside-zone scheme, but as long as Mixon stays healthy, he probably won't be anything more than a handcuff option in fantasy leagues.

Arik Armstead Jul 20 12:30pm CT
    Arik Armstead

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed defensive lineman Arik Armstead (knee) on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday. Armstead is not ready to practice with the rest of the team for the start of training camp after he had surgery to fix a torn meniscus in his right knee this offseason. Barring a setback in the 30-year-old's recovery, though, Armstead could be activated from the PUP list and be ready to go for the start of the 2024 regular season in Week 1 in September. The former 17th overall pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2015 out of Oregon racked up 302 tackles (177 solo), 33.5 sacks, 43 tackles for loss and 88 QB hits in his nine seasons with the Niners before joining the Jaguars this offseason. He played in only 12 regular-season games in 2023 and had just 27 tackles (15 solo) and five sacks.

Josh Palmer Jul 20 12:20pm CT
    Josh Palmer

The Athletic's Daniel Popper thinks Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers Joshua Palmer, rookie Ladd McConkey and DJ Chark Jr. will start in 11 personnel packages to begin the 2024 season. McConkey was mostly playing the slot in spring practices, Palmer can play inside and outside, and Chark fits as a true X receiver due to his size, speed and contested-catch ability. Palmer could emerge as quarterback Justin Herbert's top target because he's already established rapport with Herbert and is the most complete receiver in the Chargers' receiving corps. But McConkey is extremely refined as a route-runner and will push for targets immediately. As of right now, it looks like former first-rounder Quentin Johnston is the No. 4 after displaying poor route-running and key drops in his rookie campaign. Palmer has plenty of opportunity in 2024 and is worth a late-round flier as a fantasy sleeper.
