Jonathon Brooks Oct 23 7:40pm CT
    Jonathon Brooks

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday as the team prepares for their Week 8 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Brooks had his 21-day practice window opened last week but ultimately wasn't activated from Injured Reserve to play in the Week 7 blowout loss to the Washington Commanders. The 21-year-old second-round selection is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last year in college, but he could make his debut this Sunday in Denver if he makes progress in practice this week. The RB selected in April's draft should be rostered in all fantasy formats and has the ability to demand a sizeable workload next to Chuba Hubbard in Carolina's backfield by season's end. If Brooks is active against Denver, we'd recommend keeping him on the bench as the Panthers likely ease him in.

Gabriel Davis Oct 23 7:20pm CT
    Gabriel Davis

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee) was listed as limited for the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Davis has been limited in practices now due to his knee injury for three weeks, but he hasn't missed any games and should be fine to suit up this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8. The 25-year-old had a season-high five catches on a season-high eight targets for 45 yards and his first two touchdowns of the year in the Week 6 loss to the Chicago Bears in London but followed it up with one catch for 13 yards in last week's win over the New England Patriots in London. Rookie Brian Thomas Jr. has been Jacksonville's only real reliable fantasy weapon for the Jaguars this year at wideout. The Packers have been middle of the pack this year in terms of fantasy points allowed to receivers. Consider Davis a boom/bust WR5/flex in Week 8.

Evan Engram Oct 23 7:10pm CT
    Evan Engram

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (hamstring) continued to be limited with a hamstring injury in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. Engram injured his hamstring in pre-game warmups before Week 2 and then missed four games as a result. In two games since his return, he's caught all 15 of his targets for 137 yards and no touchdowns against the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots. Unless the 30-year-old veteran suffers a setback with his hamstring later this week, he should be ready to rock for Sunday's contest against the visiting Green Bay Packers, where he should be treated as a midrange TE1 in fantasy. In seven games this year, the Packers defense is allowing the 10th-most half-PPR points per game to opposing tight ends.

Christian Watson Oct 23 7:00pm CT
    Christian Watson

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Jayden Reed (ankle) and Christian Watson (ankle) were both limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. While Reed and Watson remain on the injury report for another week, neither pass-catcher is in much danger of missing the Week 8 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road. Neither Reed (two catches for 10 yards) nor Watson (one catch for nine yards) were able to do much at all in the Week 7 win over the Houston Texans, but they have a great matchup to bounce back in this weekend. All of Green Bay's receivers can be boom/bust options in fantasy, but Reed warrants a must-start status as the most consistent among Watson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks. Reed is currently the WR5 in half-PPR scoring, while Watson sits at WR73 while playing in only five games.

Noah Fant Oct 23 6:50pm CT
    Noah Fant

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant in the first practice of the week on Wednesday due to a knee injury. It's something to monitor, but as long as Fant doesn't suffer a setback later this week, we feel good about his chances of being active this Sunday versus the Buffalo Bills. The 26-year-old had a team-high four catches for 65 yards in the Week 7 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Fant still has yet to find the end zone this year, but he has a total of 10 catches on 10 targets for 128 yards over the last two weeks. He could be another good bet for sneaky production this weekend against the Bills if receiver DK Metcalf (knee) is unable to play. Even if Metcalf is active on Sunday, Fant should be viewed as a worthwhile TE2 streaming target for fantasy managers.

    JuJu Smith-Schuster Oct 23 6:43pm CT
    JuJu Smith-Schuster

Kansas City Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Fantasy Spin: Smith-Schuster was not able to play in the last game and could sit again if he does not practice this week. He may lose a few targets when he returns since the team added DeAndre Hopkins but can still be a possible flex option.

    From TheHuddle

Kareem Hunt Oct 23 6:43pm CT
    Kareem Hunt

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt (hip) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Fantasy Spin: Hunt has received at least 20 yards in each of the last two games and has three touchdowns during that span. He will continue to be the main back for the Chiefs and should be a starting option in all leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Kenneth Walker III Oct 23 6:40pm CT
    Kenneth Walker III

Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III (illness) remains on the injury report for Week 8 and was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice. Walker was questionable with an illness he picked up last weekend but ended up playing in the Week 7 win over the Atlanta Falcons and didn't seem very sick despite playing only 47% of the offensive snaps. The 24-year-old had 14 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown and added two catches for 24 yards and another score. It would be a surprise if Walker isn't able to play in Week 8 against the visiting Buffalo Bills, where he'll be a must-start, high-end RB1 for fantasy managers. Through only five games played in 2024, Walker checks in as the RB8 in half-PPR scoring with 303 rushing yards and six touchdowns and 23 catches for 160 yards and another score. Given his injury-prone ways, though, backup Zach Charbonnet is an excellent handcuff.

Taysom Hill Oct 23 6:33pm CT
    Taysom Hill

New Orleans Saints TE Taysom Hill (rib) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Fantasy Spin: Hill has missed the last few games because of the injury but seems to have a chance to play this week. He will see a few targets if he cleared to play and could be a No. 1 tight end in some leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Alvin Kamara Oct 23 6:33pm CT
    Alvin Kamara

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (hand, rib) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Fantasy Spin: Kamara has been on the injury report for the last several weeks but should be fine to play in Week 8. He will see plenty of touches during the game and should be a starting option in all leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Cedrick Wilson Oct 23 6:33pm CT
    Cedrick Wilson

New Orleans Saints WR Cedrick Wilson (hip) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Fantasy Spin: Wilson reached the end zone in the last game and was targeted seven times in the passing game. He should see a handful of targets this week if he plays and could be a possible flex option in some deeper leagues.

    From TheHuddle

Marshon Lattimore Oct 23 6:33pm CT
    Marshon Lattimore

New Orleans Saints OG Nick Saldiveri (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 23. OG Cesar Ruiz (knee), OG Lucas Patrick (chest), LB Pete Werner (hamstring), OG Connor McGovern (back), DT Khalen Saunders (back) and TE Juwan Johnson (shoulder) were limited during practice. CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) fully participated in practice.

    From TheHuddle

Will Levis Oct 23 6:30pm CT
    Will Levis

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said that the team will likely give quarterback Will Levis (shoulder) one more week to heal from an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder. Nothing is official as of Wednesday, but the Titans appear to be leaning toward giving Mason Rudolph a second straight start in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The 25-year-old needs rest more than anything, although he was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to make the start next week against the visiting New England Patriots. The second-year signal-caller has completed 66.4% of his pass attempts through five games in 2024 but has made plenty of questionable decisions and has only five touchdowns and seven interceptions. The good news is the Titans continue to say that Levis is their starter when fully healthy.

    From RotoBaller

Tyjae Spears Oct 23 6:30pm CT
    Tyjae Spears

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (hamstring) was limited in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. Spears missed practice all week and did not suit up for the Week 7 loss against the Buffalo Bills, but his return to practice to kick off the week on Wednesday is a good sign for his potential return this Sunday against the Detroit Lions. There was some thought that Spears would have a bigger share of the backfield workload in 2024 alongside Tony Pollard, but that wasn't really the case in his first five games played. Spears has 33 rushing attempts for 114 yards (3.5 yards per carry) and one touchdown while adding 12 receptions for 76 yards. Spears figures to be the No. 2 behind Pollard as a change of pace if he returns to the field on Sunday, but he'll be nothing more than a low-upside RB3/flex in PPR formats.

    From RotoBaller

Derek Carr Oct 23 6:23pm CT
    Derek Carr

New Orleans Saints QB Derek Carr (oblique) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Fantasy Spin: Carr appears to be on track to miss another game and does not have a timetable for his return. He should be avoided in all fantasy leagues until he participates in a few practices.

    From TheHuddle

Bucky Irving Oct 23 6:20pm CT
    Bucky Irving

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie running back Bucky Irving (toe) was listed as a non-participant for the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday. The Buccaneers did not actually practice on Wednesday after losing to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, so Irving's status was an estimation. We should have a better idea of whether the 22-year-old will be able to play in Week 8 against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons in the next two days. In Rachaad White's return on Monday, Irving played 36% of the offensive snaps to White's 47% and had 12 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown. White had four more touches and scored twice through the air. Irving should remain involved in Tampa's backfield moving forward, giving him RB3/flex appeal on a weekly basis, but Sean Tucker could see more run this Sunday if Irving is limited or out.

    From RotoBaller

Jordan Whittington Oct 23 6:20pm CT
    Jordan Whittington

Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver Jordan Whittington (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday and was officially ruled out for the team's Thursday night showdown against the Minnesota Vikings. Whittington, a sixth-round pick out of Texas back in April, didn't exactly take advantage of both Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) being in four games fantasy-wise, as he caught 16 of 21 targets for 179 yards and no touchdowns during that span. Kupp is returning on Thursday night and Nacua could, too, which essentially wrecks the deep-league streaming appeal Whittington might have had. The 24-year-old was active in the Week 7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders but played only nine offensive snaps and will now look to get healthy for a Week 9 contest against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks.

    From RotoBaller

Calvin Ridley Oct 23 6:13pm CT
    Calvin Ridley

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Ridley is in danger of missing the Week 8 game. He is the main option in the passing game for the Titans and should be a starting option in leagues when healthy.

    From TheHuddle

Calais Campbell Oct 23 6:03pm CT
    Calais Campbell

Miami Dolphins OT Terron Armstead (non-injury), DT Calais Campbell (non-injury), CB Storm Duck (ankle) and CB Kader Kohou (neck) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 23. OG Liam Eichenberg (shoulder), S Jevon Holland (hand) and DE Emmanuel Ogbah (biceps) were limited during practice.

    From TheHuddle

Zay Flowers Oct 23 6:00pm CT
    Zay Flowers

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Flowers picked up the injury in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Given his quick and "twitchy" style of play, an ankle injury could seriously dampen Flowers' outlook this week if he is able to suit up. Flowers has been boom or bust in 2024. He has scored at least 19 fantasy points in three games and 11.1 or less points in every other game. The Ravens offense can win through the air and on the ground which has affected Flowers week-to-week. Flowers also now has legitimate target competition with the reemergence of tight end Mark Andrews and the emergence of wide receiver Rashod Bateman as a downfield threat. With the Ravens headed into a Week 8 matchup against the lowly Cleveland Browns, Flowers could have a chance for a nice game. The once-stout Browns defense is now No. 27 against opposing wide receivers in fantasy. Keep an eye on Flowers' status as the week progresses and stash Bateman just in case.
