1st Rd Pick Benson top off-season acquisition
Entering the off season, and coming off a championship season, we were hoping to maintain core players with ACES and TAGS. We had many expiring contracts and chose to tag Pacheco and Njoku while ACEing Deebo and CMC. Figuring we would lose a few (7) to the auction there were still a couple we wanted to maintain in Aubry and Siriani costing 17 war bucks. Also matched Henry just for depth at a cost of 1 WB. Looked at a couple players that could help in the upcoming season but soon realized it would not be cost prohibitive and didn't want to give up the 7th pick to acquire them. So the auction wasn't fruitful. onto the draft
Traded the '23 1st for '24 1st which ended up being the 7th pick. Pretty much a luxury pick but was hoping for Odunze as he was sliding a bit. I would have bet 25 WB Dakota was going to pass him up for much needed RB help in Benson. Was not to be as Dakota took Odunze leaving me with a choice between Benson and Daniels. I chose Benson as it was a bit of a need with aging Mostert and CMC. Also considered Worthy at this spot and feel Sin City got a great player in the 12 slot.
Picking 12th in the 2nd I was pretty happy A.Mitchell slid all the way to me. Thought dei Capi would snipe him but also thought he would opt for the QB at the spot (which he did)
Having 2 picks in the 3rd turned out to be great for this draft as I saw a lot of value in this round. Loaded up the queue and auto drafted Davis at the 7 spot and Allen as the last pick of the rd. They may not see much action for a year or two but I really like both players.
The 4th and 5th rounds weren't as exciting really, so just threw a couple darts. May not sign either to contracts tbh unless something happens in the next 10 days to warrant it. Send offers lol
All in all happy with the draft turned out and feel a couple of these guys will heavily contribute in the coming years
We're pretty excited for the upcoming season and feel we can compete for another title. There will be some stiff competition from several teams as they really improved this offseason.
