makes sense as you are a big player. For smaller players, it's tough to lose those picks by changing rules in the middle of an existing league. Good tip though, if I need extra leverage in a deal I could renew and add to my offer.

I hear you Q, but last year(s) you could trade all but 1st without renewing. I guess it helps (preventing) dynasty's who trade away too much, then put up team for sale. Of the leagues Im in, I have not seen a single team with next years picks (early renewal).
we were allowed to trade this years picks and (except for round 1), next year's picks. It looks like the rules change does not give us more (unless paid in advance), it gives us less (only this year) to trade. :(
