Hey Gang,

Thanks to you all that were able to zoom in last night; I'll do my best to summarize below....sorry for the long, rambling message...lol

Main topic was a discussion of the current rules; the goal of the scoring changes last year was to adapt for a 14 team superflex league. The changes made were put in place to try and balance out the top 28 starters so that it wasn't all QBs (exasperating the QB shortage in SFLEX for 14 teams) and make it a 50 - 50 split between QBs and Position players - we achieved that perfectly with 14 QBs, 7 RBs, 3 WRs and 4 TEs.  We will run with this scoring format for 2025 and revisit next year if we think it needs adjusting😎

Art, we did discuss your idea....who boy....sorry, but folks are not to keen on adding an IDP (Except for Rapper, but that's because he likes kickers and defenses🤦) sorry, just don't see that happening. Like i said last night, "hell, i've just figured out the positions we have; you wanna add another! LOL"

We discussed the weekly contests and if there were any ideas to shake up the contests....lemme know if you have any ideas. Jumbo, thanks, the one's in your work league have some cool ones, may pull a few in to replace the week's that have the "luck" factors like margin of win or loss, etc. Take a look at the contests as currently set and let me know of one's you want changed.

Next we discussed the 40th Anniversary Draft next year; i think the consensus is to have another destination draft. Of course Vegas thrown out (and likely most popular and easiest), we discussed the benefits of doing it on Strip or downtown.... another idea was the Fantasy Football Convention in Canton OH...kind of a bucket list item for me, but still leaning Vegas😃....let's finalize at the draft!

For those of you that were on, Pred jogged my memory this morning on the other item i wanted to discuss - The Elimination of Divisions......i know, i know....it's been our tradition....but we're a mature league now....lol... "now"......this league's been mature for 20 years👴.....

I believe we want to eliminate as much luck as we can away from swaying even the smallest edge, if we can, don't you agree?  If so, then getting rid of the "luck of the draw" for divisions makes sense....the only thing we gain with divisions is the winner of each get a bye in the first round...we already use a schedule to play every team once with a random 15th game in the schedule........there is always a chance a lesser team gets a bye because the luck of the division draw had more weak teams.....it's small, i know but it's still something....so really, with no divisions....the best two teams - every time - will get the byes. It will also be easier to determine tie breakers and playoff seeding......I'm getting old, i want things easier....😁

So, unless there is any really, really compelling reasons you all can come up with, i believe we make the change......

Thanks again for letting me run this thing; looking forward to the Draft!

Hi Commish. Not sure I’ll be able to make the call tonight. My two cents is we reduce 1 starting WR and add 1 defensive player (any position) who scores points for tackles, fumble recoveries, sacks, interceptions, return yards, and TD’s. I think it would be an interesting tweak to our draft and lineup. Hope I can join tonight.

Hey Gang,

We are inching closer to draft day.....I'm posting stuff on the site.....please check in there periodically (you can turn on notifications in your team page). Just want to make sure everyone knows the date of draft....and have seen the postings regarding possibly having a zoom call to discuss any rules changes recommendations; or at least have a spirited conversation regarding our league😜😀

How does Thursday night sound, say 7:30 or 8:00 pm start? Pipe in on what time works; i'll set up a zoom and send out link once finalized....

Cheers,
Commish

Hey Gang,

Hope your summer's going well; we are all set for the draft on August 23rd, 11:00 a.m. at my house.

There is some rumblings from one guy about wanting some scoring changes to the TE changes we made last year😜

Our goal was to try and balance the scoring so that QBs didn't completely dominate the top of scoring in a 14 team SFlex. We achieved that to perfection (Top 28 Scorers - 14 QBs, 7 RBs, 3 WRs, 4 TEs). The thought is to bring TEs back down a little to match with WRs again.....I'm more concerned with WRs being the lowest in top 28; especially when we all have to start 3 each.....Another item I'm contemplating is the elimination of divisions; if we just had one league where everyone plays each other once (an one random game), we would get a better representation of the strongest teams advancing and eliminate the luck of the division draw. Dunno, just heard some talking heads discussing it....makes sense.

Long story short, I'm going to set up a rules discussion zoom call in a couple weeks...think about your ideas to adjust scoring rules and if you want to join, jump in.

If you want to start sending in your $165 franchise fees (Zelle), feel free....just try to have paid up by draft day.

Cheers Gang
