For the record, not sure how I was dragged into this with the league fee.....but 1. I never even really told anyone I paid the league fee because it wasn't a big deal and 2. I never once asked a single person for any money and never will.

By the way, the bingo card was genius and hilarious!

It’s been a while but not surprised my words are twisted again.

Take my ball and go home? Naaaa…

I’d rather take my efforts potentially somewhere else in a league that cares to set a full lineup, and cares about the effort they put in. You usually only find that in higher pay leagues, but we’ll see. A lot has to happen to prove me wrong in the next 2 months.

Best message post I’ve seen recently was GU’s “casual league” post. He’s spot on!

If you just give him enough time and space, he cements your entire argument for you.

And he brought out one of my all time favorite hits: "GOOD BIT!" An epic message board day in a great league. Somebody provide me transcripts of a more active board with better material than this one provides.

I feel like Jimbo could use a rewire of the neurological pathways from his brain to his typing fingers. Just a trainwreck of a message board day for him. This league is great. You want to take your ball and go home because 11 of 12 members of the league don't want to be overly punitive on punishment when it doesn't fit the crime. A change that most feel makes the league even better is a bridge too far for Jimbo "Nine" Light. Maybe if you work on your posture at the keyboard, you'll be like a champagne cork waiting to pop the next time you post  instead of airmailing lame takes 10 feet over everybody's head.

You're not wrong Jim. This league isn't what it once was. That's because we're (at least most of us) aren't what we once were. You said we have more time to check lineups and do anything fantasy related in the mornings because we're not waking up from a drunken stooper the night before.... you're not wrong there either, but we're 20 years older than we were. Priorities change for a lot of us. I used to love fantasy football. Trying to get in as many leagues as I can. Waking up in the mornings and turning on ESPN and watching 2 hours of pregame before I watch 10 hours of football. Now, I'm trying to get out of leagues, I don't watch any pregame and I basically watch the Vikes and I don't even do that all the time. I have other things to do. Better things to do. Fantasy football is like 50th on my list of things to pay attention to. Especially, as Zach said, when my team isn't good. Do I want to win this league more than the others I'm in? Absolutely. Do I lose sleep over losing, especially in a rebuilding season? Nope. Could not care less. Sorry, that's the realistic POV and I know without hesitation there are at least 4 or more owners that completely agree with me.

Yes, Zach - I hold 35 year olds more accountable to know the rules in fantasy football than my kids. But when you act like a kid and continue to ask about said rules on top of scoffing at the IR rule you broke back in the day (a former common practice in this league to scoff at rules after the fact of being broken), it will be addressed.

The league has come full circle - spending 19 years developing something everyone wants only to flip the script and let everyone do what they want with less rules and Judge Judy it in the offseason?

Just my observation, but this league isn’t what it was intended to be back in the day, that’s for sure.

When I hang out at Kyle's all night and swim in his pool and dunk on Jimbo, I feel Kyle probably actually owes me. But, have I said anything to Kyle over the years? No. And that's because that's just the kind of stand up guy I am.

*Kyle, you probably owe me at least $16-24 at this point and the juice is running...

Also, imagine following Jim's logic and I get mad at my kids if they ask me one question in a year and then the next week I ask them why they are asking somebody else a question when they could just ask me because answering your one question is the easiest thing I've ever done. Also just hilarious when Jimbo goes take your punishment for breaking the rules and move on when every other league member says Jimbo, you can't just arbitrarily go in and change somebody's lineup if you feel like it because they asked you to. I don't recall Jimbo saying you're right and throw the book at me. I can't read the rules posted on the website because I'm lazy. It's always interesting how Jimbo World works...

I don't even know why I am responding to you anymore, but I seriously just can't help myself. I have no restraint.

Jim, please point to my post where I defined my responsibilities as "irreplaceable" or that "no one else in this league can do them"..... Actually, I will save you the time as you won't find them. I never said that. If that is what you got out of my post, I feel sorry for you. What I did say was, I am putting in the work behind the scenes, which I guess you kind of acknowledged that you do actually need to do work as a Commish. Because of all the work I do behind the scenes (again, that anyone can do) should I still need to pay $7 or $8 to Kyle for the league fee?? Maybe. Maybe not. But I do because.... it is only $7 or $8....

Marn Being Marn Fri Nov 21 2:38pm CT
Yes, Zach - anyone and everyone will continued to be shamed and mocked for asking about annual rules that are easily accessible in the website. You were mocked for being lazy and not looking up the rules yourself, something I’m sure you do with your kids nowadays. Payback is a bitch.

Anyone can be Commish of this league. Spare us all the responsibilities, Marn, as Pac Man and I did all that before you took over. It’s cut and paste; rinse and repeat. It takes some work, which 80% of the league won’t do, but it’s not some high and mighty position that only a select few can do. Anyone can do it if they care enough, and the only difference now than before is people care way less, and try and carry out less bits.

Speaking of care, Zach is right that mistakes happen. Take your penalty and move on. But if you think for one minute we’re going to erase what’s been established over 19 years and move forward with “do what you want and we’ll deal with it in the offseason,” than I’m out. I’ll just come hang out at the draft like Sean does. I’m already in other casual leagues for the sole purpose to talk shit to neighbors or family members and hang out at the draft, and to take advantage it lackluster owners who aren’t competitive.

We can be better than that and we’re already set up for it. Winning this trophy is still my No. 1 priority with all my leagues, but the way a lot of you are talking in this league, it’s turned into nothing different than my neighborhood league or my college Empire league where 5 teams are tanking and haven’t even looked at their lineups for 3 weeks.

Prove me wrong that these examples aren’t us.
