Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane put together a pretty fantastic rookie campaign last season. The 22-year-old rushed for 800 yards on 103 attempts and eight rushing scores in 11 games. He didn't play a full season and was only 200 yards shy of an 1,000-yard campaign. Recently, head coach Mike McDaniel said he hopes to incorporate Achane more into their scheme going forward. This backfield is a bit crowded with Raheem Mostert and fourth-round rookie Jaylen Wright. The only way for Achane to probably have increased value would be more involvement in the passing game. At the end of the day, the Dolphins will probably end up using some type of committee approach. Regardless of what happens, Achane should still hold solid value in most fantasy formats.

The 2023 third-round pick posted 800 yards and eight touchdowns on just 103 carries and added 27 receptions for 197 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver. However, he's looking to develop his route-running and overall receiving skill set, according to Dolphins reporter David Furones. "Two specific goals Achane has this offseason:" Furones wrote. "Get stronger to better withstand the hits taken in the NFL and improve on his route-running to get the ball more often in the passing game." Achane led all Miami running backs with 37 targets last season, and he has a clear path to doing it again since Raheem Mostert isn't much of a pass-catcher, and rookie Jaylen Wright didn't show much as a receiver at Tennessee. Any extra receiving work could elevate Achane into the next tier of fantasy running backs, so this is a good sign for his potential upside in Year 2.

Already one of the most impressive offensive rookies in 2023 with the most yards per rush (7.8) with a minimum of 100 attempts, his fantasy stock is soaring heading into his sophomore campaign this fall. Achane stands at only 5-foot-9, 188 pounds, but he packs a punch and is one of the fastest players overall in the NFL already. The only knocks on the 22-year-old are that he missed six games with injury, and that Raheem Mostert, who scored 21 total touchdowns in 2023, is still around. Achane had 103 carries for 800 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 regular-season games (four starts). Even with Mostert around, Achane, when healthy, has some of the most upside of any RB in the league.
