Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. was the first selection of the Sean Payton era, landing with the organization at the end of the second round in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, he caught just 22 of his 33 targets for 377 yards and one touchdown. He was a Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro selection as a returner, and Jon Heath of Broncos Wire believes he should be more involved in the offense in 2024. "Mims is poised to make a big impact as a returner again in 2024, but his contributions won't end there," Heath wrote. "Mims averaged 17.1 yards per reception last fall, but he was used sporadically on offense. After trading Jerry Jeudy to the Browns this spring, the Broncos will have more snaps (and targets) available for Mims on offense this fall. The 22-year-old special teams ace could be on the verge of a breakout year as a receiver." Mims will compete with Josh Reynolds, Troy Franklin, and Tim Patrick for snaps, all of whom aren't standout pass-catchers. The Broncos are likely to have one of the worst offenses in the NFL under rookie quarterback Bo Nix, but Mims could still be a solid late-round fantasy option considering his price outside the top 75 wide receivers.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. said he's feeling better heading into his second year in the NFL, and the electric return man will also get more chances to return kicks in 2024 with the new league rules. Mims averaged 26.5 yards per kickoff return last year and had one of the league's four return touchdowns. The second-round pick last year was a Pro Bowl returner in his rookie season, but he had only 22 catches for 377 yards and a touchdown as a receiver, with most of the production coming early in the year. The coaching staff struggled to find snaps for Mims behind Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy is now gone, but Mims will be competing for snaps with Josh Reynolds, Tim Patrick and rookie Troy Franklin. Mims has the potential to make noise as a deep threat once again, but unless an injury opens up consistent snaps for him on offense, he may just be more of a special teams asset for Denver in 2024.

The Denver Broncos are expecting to see growth from wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. as he heads into his second year in the league. "You're going to see a lot of growth from Year 1 to Year 2," head coach Sean Payton said. Mims, the team's second-round pick (63rd overall) in 2023 out of Oklahoma, averaged a healthy 17.1 yards per catch in his first NFL season last year but caught just 22 passes on 33 targets for 377 yards and only one touchdown in 16 games (seven starts). The 22-year-old didn't get all that many opportunities to get into a rhythm in his rookie campaign but showed potential as a deep threat down the field from time to time. His fantasy stock immediately got a boost when the team traded Jerry Jeudy to the Browns in the offseason, but he'll still have to show improvement in Year 2 in order to see playing time alongside Josh Reynolds, Tim Patrick and rookie Troy Franklin.
