Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was limited at practice for the third straight day on Friday, Oct. 11, and was ruled out for Week 6.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb has logged six limited sessions since being designated to return last week and it's likely the team will use his entire 21-day window before activating him. That window closes on Oct. 23, so we may not see him next week, either. Until his return, D'Onta Foreman and Jerome Ford will keep splitting work. Ford is the better option as a flex because of his involvement in the passing game, but avoiding the situation entirely is the best bet.

Cleveland Browns S Ronnie Hickman (ankle), OT James Hudson (shoulder), S Grant Delpit (concussion) and C Ethan Pocic (knee) did not practice on Friday, Oct. 11, and were ruled out for Week 6. Also, RB Nyheim Hines (knee) and RB Nick Chubb (knee) were limited but have been ruled out, LB Jordan Hicks (elbow, triceps) and CB Denzel Ward (hamstring) were limited and are questionable, LB Mohamoud Diabate (hip) and DT Maurice Hurst (ankle) practiced in full but are questionable, TE David Njoku (knee, ankle) and DE Za'Darius Smith (ankle) were limited but carry no designation, and OT Jack Conklin (hamstring), WR Amari Cooper (rest), RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle), DE Myles Garrett (Achilles), WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), DE Ogbo Okoronkwo (illness), RB Pierre Strong (hamstring), OT Jedrick Wills (knee) and OG Zak Zinter (knee) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

Cleveland Browns running backs Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) have both been ruled out for the Week 6 contest against the Philadelphia Eagles. Both Chubb and Hines opened their 21-day practice windows last week but remain on the Physically Unable to Perform list and will not make their 2024 debuts this weekend. There next chance to return will be in Week 7 versus the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals. The 28-year-old Chubb should be stashed in the majority of fantasy formats, but it's still unclear when exactly he'll return, and when he does, the Browns figure to ease him back in after he suffered a gruesome knee injury in Week 2 of 2023. At least for another week, Jerome Ford will lead the Browns' backfield and will be a low-upside RB2/3 against Philly given how bad Cleveland's offense has looked in 2024.

Oct 10 10:10pm CT

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) was listed as limited for the second straight day this week on Thursday. D'Onta Foreman (ankle) was also limited after picking up a DNP on Wednesday, giving him a shot to play in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Backs Nyheim Hines (knee) and Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring) were also limited for a second straight day. Chubb returned to practice for the first time last week after suffering a gruesome knee injury in Week 2 of 2023. He was also limited all of last week but didn't make his 2024 debut in the Week 5 loss to the Washington Commanders. The 28-year-old could come off the Physically Unable to Perform list and be active this Sunday, but fantasy managers would be foolish to throw him into their starting lineups right away. Whenever Chubb is activated, the Browns are expected to mix him in slowly alongside Jerome Ford and Foreman.

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 10.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players should monitor the situation to see if Chubb will be activated before the Week 6 game. He likely will see a limited workload once he returns and may not be a starting fantasy option right away.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 7:13pm CT

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Spin: It is not known when Chubb will be added to the 53-man roster, so fantasy players should continue to monitor the situation. He may not receive a normal workload when he returns but likely will take over the starting job at some point. He should be a starting fantasy option in the near future.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 1:10pm CT

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) returned to practice last week for the first time since suffering a serious knee injury in last year's Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The four-time Pro Bowler missed all of training camp and began the regular season on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list. He was eligible to return in Week 5, but he did not. On the prospect of activating Chubb to the active roster to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, head coach Kevin Stefanski was non-committal, but he did not rule it out. "Anything is possible," Stefanski said. "But I don't want to get too far beyond today." This is clearly a situation worth monitoring, as it sounds like there is at least an outside chance Chubb could suit up on Sunday. Even if Chubb makes his 2024 debut in Week 6, expectations should be tempered. The team will likely ease him into action and split backfield work between Chubb, Jerome Ford, and D'Onta Foreman (ankle), so unless you're in a tough spot at running back, he can be left on the bench until we see what he looks like.

Oct 4 3:43pm CT

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 4, but has been ruled out for Week 5.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb is working his way back from a serious knee injury and will need more practice time because he plays again. Jerome Ford will continue to be the main running back for the Browns and can be at least a flex option in leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 12:40pm CT

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) has officially been ruled out for the Week 5 contest versus the Washington Commanders as he continues to work his way back from a devastating left-knee injury he suffered in Week 2 of 2023. Chubb returned to practice for the first time this year on Wednesday and is being eased back into action. There really isn't a firm timetable for when the 28-year-old might make his 2024 debut, and the Browns could use the full 21-day window to make sure Chubb is fully up to speed before working him back into the backfield on game days. Fantasy managers should have Chubb stashed in all formats, but there's no guarantee he'll return for a Week 6 tilt against the Philadelphia Eagles. In the meantime, Jerome Ford will continue to operate as Cleveland's lead back, with D'Onta Foreman being sprinkled in as a change-of-pace option.

From RotoBaller

Oct 3 7:40pm CT

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) said that his surgically repaired left knee is feeling good after his first practice in more than a year on Wednesday in which he was limited. Chubb was limited again on Thursday, but he's unsure when he'll come off the Physically Unable to Perform list to make his 2024 debut. He is unlikely to play in Week 5 against the Washington Commanders. Chubb had surgeries to fix his medial capsule, meniscus and MCL in late September last year and another surgery to repair damage to his ACL in November. The 28-year-old is worth stashing in all fantasy formats, but it would be a mistake to expect him to return to his pre-injury form right away whenever he debuts. Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowler, also tore his MCL, PCL and LCL in his left knee at Georgia in 2015. Nyheim Hines (knee) and Pierre Strong Jr. (hamstring) were also limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday.

From RotoBaller

Oct 3 3:43pm CT

Cleveland Browns LB Jordan Hicks (ribs, elbow, triceps), OT James Hudson (shoulder), TE David Njoku (ankle) and DE Alex Wright (triceps) did not practice on Thursday, Oct. 3. Also, RB Nick Chubb (knee), OT Jack Conklin (hamstring), OG Michael Dunn (illness), DE Myles Garrett (Achilles), RB Nyheim Hines (knee), OT Dawand Jones (knee), DE Ogbo Okoronkwo (illness), C Ethan Pocic (ankle), DE Za'Darius Smith (neck), RB Pierre Strong (hamstring) and OT Jedrick Wills (knee) were limited and WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), CB Greg Newsome II (personal) and LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (hand) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Oct 3 3:43pm CT

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was limited at practice for the second straight day on Thursday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Spin: Reports from practice say Chubb looks great, which is certainly fantastic news for his prospects of playing soon. He remains unlikely to play in the first week he's cleared, but he also doesn't look to be far off. While owners are no doubt anxious to get him into lineups, it would be wise to not start Chubb the first week he plays, as the Browns are likely to ease him back. But after that, it's all systems go and Chubb could return to RB1 status for the rest of the season.

From TheHuddle

Oct 3 1:43pm CT

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) told reporters his knee felt good on Thursday, Oct. 3 - one day after going through his first practice in over a year. Neither the team nor Chubb knows for sure when he will make his season debut, but it will have to be within the next three weeks after the Browns opened up his 21-day practice window on Wednesday.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb is highly unlikely to play in Week 5 against the Washington Commanders. When asked how much time he would need before he returns to action, he replied: "whenever I feel good." While fantasy managers would love more clarity than that, the good news is that Chubb would not have had his 21-day practice window opened if he and the team did not feel as if he was close to returning. Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals seems like the most likely time for him to return to action.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 5:33pm CT

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb probably will not be activated right away, but fantasy players should keep an eye on the situation to see when he will be able to play again. He probably will be eased back into the offense but should have fantasy value at some point this season.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 12:10pm CT

The Cleveland Browns officially designated running backs Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) to return to practice on Wednesday. The Browns were expected all along to open the 21-day practice windows for both Chubb and Hines this week as they recover from their respective devastating knee injuries. Both players opened the 2024 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list and will be eligible to come off the PUP and play in Week 5 against the Washington Commanders, but that is unlikely to happen. Cleveland will ease both Chubb and Hines back in at practice, and there remains no definitive timetable for their return to game action. Before Chubb's gruesome injury in Week 2 of last year, he was firmly on the RB1 radar, but it remains to be seen if he can get back to that level of production in 2024. For now, Jerome Ford will continue to handle lead-back duties.

From RotoBaller

Oct 2 11:23am CT

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was designated to return from the reserve/physically unable to perform on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb now has 21 days to be activated, but it isn't clear how many of those 21 days he's going to need before being able to play. It's likely he'll be eased back in once he is cleared to take the field, but he should eventually resume his usual lead back duties. Chubb becomes a must-add player if available moving forward, as he's a potential RB1 if he can get back to form following his devastating 2023 injury.

From TheHuddle

Oct 1 9:00am CT

The Cleveland Browns will open the 21-day practice window for Nick Chubb (knee), and Browns coach Kevin Stefanksi expects the talented running back to return to practice on Wednesday. Chubb has been on the Physically Unable to Perform list but once he practices the Browns will have 21 days to put him on the active roster. Chubb is coming off a brutal knee injury that he suffered last season and required two surgeries and will likely take a while to ramp up activities in practice and get in game shape. Fantasy managers will want to be patient with the return of the star running back but this is good news from a fantasy perspective. Chubb will have Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman to contend with in the Browns' backfield once he does return to games and it is unclear how he will respond to the injury.

From RotoBaller

Sep 30 5:30pm CT

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday that running back Nick Chubb (knee) will return to practice on Wednesday. Stefanski also said he expects running back/kick returner Nyheim Hines (knee) to practice this week after tearing his ACL in July of last year. Chubb tore multiple ligaments in his left knee in Week 2 of last year and also is on the Physically Unable to Perform list, but the Browns will open both Chubb's and Hines' 21-day practice window this week. Cleveland is likely to bring both Chubb and Hines along slowly, so nobody stashing Chubb in fantasy leagues should expect him to be available to suit up in Week 5 versus the Washington Commanders. When the 28-year-old Chubb officially returns, fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he's eased back into the backfield alongside Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman, either. Chubb could spend the rest of the 2024 just trying to get his feet under him after a gruesome injury early last year.

From RotoBaller

Sep 30 4:43pm CT

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) will participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, and will his 21-day practice window opened up, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb has not been on the field since suffering his serious knee injury, so he will need several practices before he can play in a game again. Fantasy players should monitor the situation to see when he will be able to play again. He may not be a strong fantasy option right away but should be a weekly starting option later in the season.

From TheHuddle

Sep 29 9:33am CT

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee), who is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list, will have his practice window opened Wednesday, Oct. 2, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb is not expected to play in Week 5's game versus the Washington Commanders but this news is a good sign that he will likely be able to return to action by midseason. He should continue to remain stashed in all fantasy formats.
