2024 RTSports Outlook

Okonkwo had a pretty solid first season as the full-time starter for the Titans. He had 54 receptions for 528 yards and a touchdown. He was 21st overall in fantasy tight end scoring. His numbers weren't off the charts because of a lack of scores, finding the end zone just one time all season. He had double-digit fantasy points just one game. If Well Levis can take a step forward this year, Okonkwo should post even better numbers as the starter for the Titans. Okonkwo is a great athlete with top speed. His route running needs some work and he isn't much of a blocker, but his athletic ability at the position makes him a tough cover. He will drop some passes, having eight drops in two seasons.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Okonkwo isn't a No. 1 fantasy tight end just yet but just outside that group. He can build on last season and have some big games along the way this season. He can get 60 receptions for 600 yards and five touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Tennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo doesn't feature the same hype machine he generated in 2023, after leading his position in yards per reception (14.1), yards per route run (3.26), and full-PPR fantasy points per route run (0.70) during 2022, but there's still some areas to like about him as a late-round flier. Although drops (seven) and a lack of touchdowns (one) very much held him back, Okonkwo is a buy-low fantasy candidate after drawing the third-most deep targets (eight) and collecting the ninth-most unrealized air yards (261) among tight ends in 2024. All told, the explosive 24-year-old vertical threat didn't break the double-digit barrier in fantasy points until Week 16 and tallied 54 catches (77 targets) for 528 yards and a lone score through 17 games overall. Okonkwo's snap share dwindled as the year went on as a result, but he projects as Tennessee's top pass-catching tight end and with reasonable playing time to begin the season. The Titans didn't make any major moves to upgrade the TE room this offseason, but the addition of star wideout Calvin Ridley could reduce his target volume. It's worth noting that Okonkwo averaged 3.2 catches for 34.1 yards across nine games with starting quarterback Will Levis, who will be under center for Week 1. Okonkwo is your model TE2 with TE1 upside and a post-hype sleeper at the end of drafts in 2024.

Tennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo is excited about the way his body is feeling and the direction of the team heading into the 2024 regular season this fall. "I feel like I maximized the potential I had in my body, and if I wanted to get better, I had to change the structure of how I move and stuff," Okonkwo said. "(I feel) a big difference, even the way I feel, my body. I feel a lot better when I move. After a long day of moving, I don't feel as sore." The fourth-rounder in 2022 caught 54 passes for 528 yards and a touchdown in 17 games (11 starts) in his second year in 2023. He had three TDs and more average yards per catch in his rookie campaign. The 24-year-old's stock is trending up, but in an offense that now includes receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, in addition to DeAndre Hopkins, it's hard to envision Okonkwo ascending to the ranks of surefire TE1 in fantasy.

Tennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo caught two of his three targets for 36 yards in the season-ending win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The second-year pass-catcher underwhelmed in fantasy football this year, finishing with 54 receptions for 528 yards and one score. If he remains the starting tight end next season, he'll still have some fantasy football intrigue. If quarterback Will Levis takes a leap in year two, all of the Titans pass-catchers could receive value boosts.

Jan 4 1:20pm CT

Tennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo failed to deliver as a popular streaming option last week against the Houston Texans. Despite the favorable matchup, he caught just three passes for 34 yards. In the Week 18 season finale, he'll face the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are a middle-of-the-pack defense against fantasy tight ends. Ultimately, Tennessee's passing offense is tough to trust whether Ryan Tannehill or Will Levis (foot) is under center, so Okonkwo is not worth rolling the dice on in fantasy leagues or DFS contests.

Tennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo caught three of his four targets for 34 yards in the Week 17 loss to the Houston Texans. Okonkwo was a popular streaming option this week due to the favorable matchup, but he ultimately did not deliver. He's set to face the Jacksonville Jaguars next week and should go back to the bench or waiver wire, especially if Ryan Tannehill starts in place of an injured Will Levis (foot).
