Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 3 matchup against the Houston Texans. The Vikings are calling him as day-to-day, but this is now the second week in a row that Addison has missed. It's uncertain when Addison will get back on the field after not practicing all week. In his absence, Justin Jefferson and Jalen Nailor will be the primary passing options for this offense. Jefferson is a must-start while Nailor is worth a look in deep leagues after a 54-yard performance in Week 2.

It's looking like Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) is going to miss a second straight game after he wasn't seen on the practice field on Friday. Although Addison's ankle injury isn't believed to be too serious, the Vikings are playing it smart with the second-year wideout. The 22-year-old was inactive for the Week 2 win over the San Francisco 49ers and doesn't look likely to suit up this Sunday in a showdown against the 2-0 Houston Texans. The Vikings have yet to release their final Friday injury report or rule Addison out officially, though. Justin Jefferson (quadriceps) is also banged up but fully expects to play against Houston. If Addison is ruled out for the second straight week, popular waiver-wire pickup Jalen Nailor will operate as the WR2 for the Vikes again and could be used as a flex play in deeper fantasy leagues this weekend.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) sat out of practice on Thursday for the second straight day after missing the Week 2 victory over the San Francisco 49ers due to a minor right ankle injury that he picked up in the Week 1 win over the New York Giants. At the very least, Addison is likely heading for a questionable tag for Sunday's contest against the 2-0 Houston Texans if he's able to get in some form of practice on Friday. Justin Jefferson (quadriceps) is also on the Week 3 injury report but fully expects to play. If the 22-year-old Addison is limited or out this weekend, Jalen Nailor would once again have flex appeal for fantasy managers in what could be an offensive contest. The 25-year-old Nailor has been a popular waiver-wire pickup this week with both Addison and Jefferson banged up. He's scored twice already this year and caught three passes for 54 yards and a TD in Week 2.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Addison continues to recover from the ankle injury he suffered in Week 1. Addison had a highly productive rookie year that saw him score ten receiving touchdowns. His sophomore year has not gotten off to the start that many had hoped. If Addison cannot ramp up his activity as the week progresses then he will be in danger of missing another game. Practice reports over the next two days will be important for fantasy managers to monitor.

When asked about wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle), Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said he's "hopeful" about his progress this week regarding his return to practice. Addison picked up an ankle injury in the team's 28-6 Week 1 victory over the New York Giants. Still, he hadn't made enough progress throughout the week to appear at practice in even a limited fashion. Giants linebacker Darius Muasau took down the second-year wideout with a "hip-drop" tackle -- one that has recently been deemed illegal -- and was fittingly fined for the unnecessary roughness. Expect an update on the 22-year-old over the coming days when the Vikings release their first official injury report of the week. If he cannot play, wide receiver Jordan Nailor will continue to fill in for Addison when the team takes on the Houston Texans at home in Week 3. Nailor has caught a touchdown in back-to-back weeks and hauled in 3-of-4 targets in Week 2 for 54 yards. He would be a low-end WR3/FLEX play.

Sep 13 1:40pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) has been officially ruled out ahead of the Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Addison hasn't been able to practice all week as he continues to deal with soreness in his right ankle. He was able to play through the issue in Week 1, but the team wants to take the safe approach now. His absence means that Jalen Nailor will move into the No. 2 role behind Justin Jefferson. Nailor hasn't done enough to prove himself as a viable option, so he shouldn't be viewed as anything more than a low-end deep league option for Week 2.

Sep 13 12:40pm CT

Minneapolis Star Tribune's Ben Goessling writes that it appears that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) will not play in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. Addison isn't practicing for the third straight day on Friday, which typically means a player will not play that weekend. The Vikings haven't officially ruled the 22-year-old second-year wideout out, but it's likely coming. Fantasy managers that have him in their starting lineups need to make the change now. After an impressive rookie campaign, Addison's 2024 season is off to a bad start after he caught just three passes for 35 yards in the Week 1 win over the New York Giants while spraining his right ankle. With Addison looking unlikely to play this weekend, wideouts Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell will fight for targets behind Justin Jefferson. Nailor is the better sleeper target for DFS lineups, albeit against a tough defense.

Sep 12 5:10pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) missed another day of practice on Thursday as the team manages a right-ankle injury that he suffered in the Week 1 win over the New York Giants. Addison's status for the Week 2 showdown against the San Francisco 49ers is now firmly in question after two missed practices this week. The 22-year-old second-year pass-catcher will most likely need to practice in some capacity on Friday to avoid being ruled out entirely. In addition to injuring his ankle last Sunday, Addison caught just three of four targets for 35 yards despite Minnesota's offense blowing out the Giants. If Addison is ruled out entirely or limited in any way by his ankle in Week 2 in a difficult matchup, Jalen Nailor figures to serve as the team's No. 2 wideout behind Justin Jefferson, with Brandon Powell also seeing an increased role.

Sep 11 6:20pm CT

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell said that wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) wouldn't practice on Wednesday and instead would stay inside and get treatment on his injured ankle. Addison injured his right ankle in the Week 1 blowout win over the New York Giants, and it's unclear exactly if he will be able to play in Week 2 this Sunday versus the San Francisco 49ers. The Vikings are hopeful that the 22-year-old second-year pass-catch can play against the Niners, but they are playing it smart with his ankle, and it will ultimately come down to how much Addison can do in practice later this week. Despite the Vikings winning comfortably in Week 1, Addison had only three catches on four targets for 35 yards. If he's inactive in Week 2 or limited at all by his ankle, Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell will compete for targets behind WR1 Justin Jefferson.

Sep 9 2:00pm CT

The Minnesota Vikings are being cautious with wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) after he left the team's 28-6 victory over the New York Giants in the third quarter. Before his departure, Addison hauled in 3-of-4 targets for 35 yards on a day where the Vikings did what they wanted against a hapless Giants squad. When asked about his young wideout, head coach Kevin O'Connell said, "He's got pretty significant soreness We'll just see. Still hopeful he'll have a chance this week, but we'll be smart with him." It's not exactly an encouraging endorsement for the 22-year-old, though it is good news that it is not the same ankle he injured previously. Minnesota will square up for an early-slate tilt in their home opener against the San Francisco 49ers in a tough matchup this coming Sunday. It would benefit Sam Darnold to have all of his weapons, but Addison is unknown for now.

Sep 8 4:50pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) isn't believed to have suffered a significant injury, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. The wideout injured his left ankle during training camp. However, he tweaked his right ankle in the Week 1 win over the New York Giants. Of course, fantasy managers will know more when the team gets back to Minnesota, where Addison is anticipated to get another evaluation. If he can't go for the Week 2 matchup with the 49ers, Josh Oliver would likely slide into the No. 2 spot behind Justin Jefferson, giving him a small upside for fantasy managers in deeper formats.

Sep 8 4:00pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (right ankle) will be re-evaluated when the team returns home, according to ESPN's Kevin Seifert. Head coach Kevin O'Connell noted that Addison injured his left ankle in training camp, but this new injury is to his right ankle. Addison departed Week 1 after catching three passes for 35 yards. Jalen Nailor will likely operate as the Vikings' No. 2 receiver if Addison misses time, but the bulk of his targets might instead get dispersed to Justin Jefferson, Johnny Mundt, and Josh Oliver.

Sep 8 2:10pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) left the game against the New York Giants with an ankle injury and the team has announced that he won't return. At this time, it's unclear how severe of an injury that it is. Addison left in the third quarter though while the team was up 21-6. In that time, he gathered four targets, three receptions, and 35 yards with his longest play going for 16 yards. He was tied with Justin Jefferson for the most targets on the team. Fantasy managers will want to stay tuned for more updates after the team runs some more tests on his ankle after the game. In the meantime, Jalen Nailor will likely see some more opportunities.

Sep 6 1:50pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) is no longer on the team's injury report and is cleared to suit up against the New York Giants on Sunday. The second-year wideout was carted off the practice field in mid-August with a high-ankle sprain but returned to practice in full on Friday. After taking advantage of Justin Jefferson's extended absence in 2023 (70 catches for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns), Addison's production is expected to take a dip in 2024 with Sam Darnold quarterbacking the team. Addison should be viewed as a boom/bust WR4 against the Giants.

Sep 5 5:10pm CT

Minnesota Vikings second-year wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) said he is definitely playing in the Week 1 regular-season opener this Sunday against the New York Giants after recovering from a high-ankle sprain. Addison was officially limited in Thursday's practice for the second straight day this week. Meanwhile, Jalen Nailor, who is also dealing with an ankle injury, appeared to be more limited than Addison on Thursday. The 22-year-old Addison initially suffered his ankle sprain on Aug. 14. The 23rd overall pick last year out of USC benefitted from a lengthy absence from Justin Jefferson and finished with a 70-911-10 line in 17 games. Most fantasy pundits are expecting him to take a step back in Year 2, though, with a downgrade in QBs from Kirk Cousins to Sam Darnold. With him nursing an ankle injury to boot, fantasy managers should consider Addison a WR4/flex in Week 1 if he's active.

From RotoBaller

Sep 4 2:10pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) is trending toward suiting up in Week 1, according to head coach Kevin O'Connell. The second-year wideout has been dealing with an ankle issue since being carted off the practice field in mid-August. O'Connell says they "feel good" about Addison playing against the New York Giants. The 22-year-old is a clear second fiddle to All-Pro Justin Jefferson in the Minnesota passing offense. Despite a strong rookie season, Addison's value took a tumble when the Vikings switched from Kirk Cousins to Sam Darnold at quarterback. Addison will be a WR4/5 on Sunday if he is active.

Sep 2 4:10pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) was back at practice on Monday but didn't do a whole lot outside of warmups in the 15 minutes that were open to reporters. Addison likely would have been limited on an official injury report, but with the Vikings' Week 1 regular-season opener not coming until this Sunday against the New York Giants, there first official practice for Week 1 won't be until Wednesday. Either way, the 22-year-old second-year pass-catcher's presence at practice on Monday for the first time since being carted off the field on Aug. 14 was a good sign. We'll have a better idea of Addison's status for this Sunday once the team releases their official injury report on Wednesday. Despite a strong rookie year in 2023, Addison is shaping up as a shaky WR4/flex for fantasy managers due to his injury and the fact that he has a downgrade in QB from Kirk Cousins to Sam Darnold.

From RotoBaller

Sep 1 8:20am CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison caught just one pass for seven yards during the preseason. While it would have been nice to see a little more production out of the receiver after his up-and-down rookie campaign in 2023, we also know that Addison has a firm grasp on the No. 2 receiver role and doesn't face much competition there. The biggest question surrounding Addison is whether he can have a meaningful fantasy season with Sam Darnold throwing him the football. Not only did the Vikings suffer a quarterback downgrade this past offseason, but Addison will also lose plenty of volume to Justin Jefferson, who is fully healthy once again. Fantasy managers might want to be cautious and let Addison start the year on their bench before deciding whether he can be plugged into lineups

Aug 15 3:40pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) appears to have avoided a serious injury after exiting Wednesday's training camp practice. It has been an awful couple of days for the Vikings organization. However, there is somewhat good news regarding the status of Addison. Head coach Kevin O'Connell says that Addison has avoided a major ankle injury. That should give fans a sigh of relief after Addison was carted off the field on Wednesday. The team should give more information soon, but it sounds like Addison isn't going to miss a lengthy period of time.

From RotoBaller

Aug 14 3:50pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) was carted off the practice field on Wednesday with an apparent leg injury. After practice concluded, head coach Kevin O'Connell said it was an ankle tweak, and he's unlikely to practice on Thursday. However, he said the injury is not believed to be serious, and he thinks Addison is going to be "OK." This is a sigh of relief for the Vikings on a day it was announced that rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy (knee) would miss the entire 2024 season after undergoing surgery on his meniscus. While it doesn't appear Addison's injury will hold him out of Week 1 of the regular season, he still has a possible suspension looming stemming from a DUI charge earlier this offseason, so fantasy managers should stay tuned for that development.
