2024 RTSports Outlook

Injuries were an issues for Palmer last year, missing seven games. He made plays when on the field, having 38 receptions for 581 yards and two touchdowns. If he plays a full year, Palmer has 65 receptions for 988 yards and three touchdowns. Palmer had six games with double-digit fantasy points. He had two 100-yard games. Palmer has a chance to play a big role in the offense this year, likely getting a chance to start. He has some big potential in that role. Palmer is a really good route runner that has good speed and top hands. He can get open in a hurry. He also has a knack for making plays in the red zone.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Palmer is an ingptiruging option for the coming year. He is no sure thing in a new offense and coaching staff. He will need to prove his worth to earn that starting role and play a big role, but it is very possible that happens. Palmer is worth a look as a No. 3 fantasy receiver. Palmer can get around 70 receptions for 850 yards and six touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiverJoshua Palmerlooked like he was coming on as a go-to guy forJustin Herbertin the Chargers' offense before a late-October knee strain robbed him of six weeks of the season. Now, Palmer sits atop the depth chart of the LAC wide receiver corps. With the departure ofKeenan Allen,Mike Williams, andAustin Ekeler, so goes 250 of Herbert's targets from last season. Palmer -; the clear veteran wide receiver in Los Angeles -; will once again have the opportunity to prove himself alongside rookie-year disappointmentQuentin Johnstonand newly drafted second-round pickLadd McConkey. Palmer will likely get a ton of reps if he remains healthy and presents as the most trusted option for Herbert in a Chargers offense bereft of weapons. His WR68 ADP -; #175 overall -; aligns with RotoBaller's WR65 rank. Here, he is essentially forgotten as a great candidate to contribute throughout the season and is absolutely worth best ball and deep-league consideration.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee), who has been rehabbing a knee injury that kept him out of six games last year, said he got the most repetitions of the offseason in Tuesday's organized team activities. After posting a career-best 58.1 receiving yards per game last year, Palmer's role is set to increase even more in 2024 now that both Mike Williams and Keenan Allen are out of town. However, he'll still be competing for targets with former first-rounder Quentin Johnston and second-round rookie Ladd McConkey, not to mention DJ Chark. The Bolts' offense is also transitioning to a run-first unit under head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman, so Palmer is far from a lock to break out this year. However, the 24-year-old's big-play ability makes him enticing as WR depth.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer made six catches in the final Chargers game of the season, a Week 18 loss to the backups of the Kansas City Chiefs. Palmer was targeted a team-high 10 times, making his six catches for 44 yards. It was a tough end to the season for the Chargers passing game, who had to watch Easton Stick only throw touchdowns in one of his four starts. Palmer flashed a few times while on the field this season, but injuries slowed him down a bit and he's not quite suited to be a team's WR1.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Palmer was the Chargers' leading receiver before going down, catching six of his 10 targets for 44 yards. Los Angeles would like to end the 2023-24 campaign on a high note. However, with the team battling more than a few critical injuries, Palmer may not be back. With Gerald Everett (knee) also done in Week 18, Donald Parham Jr., Alex Erickson, and Quentin Johnston are the favorites to remain the most involved on the receiving end.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (concussion) has cleared the league's protocol and will be available for the Week 18 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Palmer will be the No. 1 wideout for this offense with Keenan Allen (heel) ruled out for this game. On paper, Palmer could be an interesting DFS option with the Chiefs likely resting most of their starters. However, Easton Stick will be under center for the Chargers, which doesn't bode well for their offense. Palmer has produced nine receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown in two games with Stick as the starter. Possibly, the two of them team up to have a good performance to close out the regular season.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (concussion) was listed as a limited participant in practice for the second straight day as he attempts to return from a concussion and play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. Palmer suffered a concussion in Week 16 and missed the Week 17 loss to the Denver Broncos, but he's making progress this week and could be cleared from the concussion protocol in time to play this Sunday. If the 24-year-old does return, he could be LA's top target for quarterback Easton Stick in the final game of the season. In Weeks 15 and 16, Palmer had nine catches for 160 yards and a touchdown with Keenan Allen (heel) out. Allen has yet to practice this week and seems unlikely to return in a meaningless game. If active, Palmer could be a sneaky DFS play this weekend.

Jan 3 5:20pm CT

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (concussion) was limited in practice on Wednesday and could have a shot to play in Week 18 against the Kansas City Chiefs after missing the Week 17 loss to the Denver Broncos due to a concussion he suffered in Week 16. The 24-year-old was on the field for the majority of the snaps in his last game played and caught five of his eight targets for 47 yards. Keenan Allen (heel) is likely to close out the year missing his fourth straight game, so if Palmer gains clearance to play this weekend against a Chiefs team likely to rest a lot of their starters, he could be a DFS sleeper that pays off. In the two games that Palmer has played in Weeks 15 and 16 with Allen sidelined, he caught nine of 12 targets for 160 yards and one touchdown.
