2024 RTSports Outlook

Nailor played sporadically in year two, catching three passes for 29 yards in six games. He has 12 receptions in two seasons. He is looking to earn a bigger role this season but nothing is certain, having a lot of quality to compete with for playing time in Minnesota. Nailor has great speed and can stretch the field in a hurry. He can serve as a top deep threat for the offense. Injuries are a concern after two seasons, though, and his size can get him pushed around in coverage.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Nailor might get a few looks but don't expect consistent production. He is a playmaker, though, so he could have a few big games along the way. Look for around 15 receptions for 200 yards and a score.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (illness) was absent from practice this week due to an illness, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic. It's unfortunate timing since the 25-year-old impressed in OTAs earlier this offseason, but absences have been a common theme. The 2022 sixth-round pick was limited to just six games last season with lower-body injuries and a concussion. Through his first 21 NFL games, he has hauled in just 12 passes for 208 yards and one touchdown. It'd be a surprise if he's on the fantasy football radar this year, as he's firmly behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison on the depth chart. He'll have to beat out Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield to start in three-wide sets, and even if he does, he'll have limited upside in an offense led by rookie J.J. McCarthy or veteran Sam Darnold.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (concussion) has been ruled out for the Week 18 matchup against the Detroit Lions. The young wideout will miss the last four games of the season due to a concussion. Nailor wasn't able to clear the league's concussion protocol ahead of the regular season finale. His absence won't be too significant considering Nailor has six targets and three receptions on the season. The 24-year-old is hopeful to have a bigger role on the team next season.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (concussion) remained a non-participant at Thursday's practice. A concussion has forced Nailor to the sidelines for Minnesota's last three games, and there's no indication that he is making much progress in the league's five-step protocol to return to action. With that said, the 24-year-old deep threat should be considered doubtful at best for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions. Nailor has been buried in the Vikings' receiving corps, anyway, essentially serving as a depth piece with three receptions on six targets for 29 yards in six outings, and his likely absence won't free up any noticeable target volume for any of the Vikes' surrounding pass catchers in Week 18.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday as his team began preparing to face off against the Detroit Lions in Week 18. The wideout has missed the past three games with a concussion and is apparently still in the league's concussion protocol as the Vikings prepare for their regular-season finale. Nailor will need to get onto the field in at least a limited capacity by Friday in order to have a shot at playing in Week 18.

Dec 29 1:40pm CT

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (concussion) has officially been ruled out for the Week 17 Sunday night game against the division-rival Green Bay Packers. It will be Nailor's third straight missed game as he tries to recover from a concussion. The Vikings' receiving corps is a bit short-handed this week and could also be without impressive first-rounder Jordan Addison (ankle), who is listed as questionable for the Sunday night game. If Addison also ends up being sidelined, K.J. Osborn would rise up to the No. 2 receiving role behind Justin Jefferson. Remember, T.J. Hockenson (knee) is done for the rest of the year, so there are plenty of targets up for grabs in the final two regular season games in Minnesota. Osborn had five catches on seven targets for 95 yards and his third touchdown of the year in last week's loss to the Detroit Lions.
