Free-agent S Justin Simmons (Broncos) was scheduled to meet with the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, Aug. 7.
From TheHuddle
Veteran free-agent and former All-Pro safety Justin Simmons is set to meet with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter. The 30-year-old has been patient this offseason after being released by the Denver Broncos following an eight-year career with the organization that included four All-Pro selections and two Pro Bowl nods. His 30 interceptions since entering the league in 2016 lead all players. The Saints have shown a willingness to sign aging players to generous deals, and if he lands in the Big Easy, he'll team up with fellow former All-Pro safety Tyrann Mathieu.

Free-agent S Justin Simmons (Broncos) is not sure when he'll sign with a team in free agency, he said on Thursday, July 11. 'Who knows? I could sign tomorrow, I could sign two weeks into camp, I could sign the first game of the season. You just never know how these things go,' he said. 'So, it's caused me to slow down and give up control because it's not in my control.'

Veteran free-agent safety Justin Simmons remains unsigned following his release by the Denver Broncos on March 7. Free agency has been open for roughly four months, but the four-time All-Pro selection is still waiting for the right fit, and he is remaining patient. "Who knows? I could sign tomorrow, I could sign two weeks into camp, I could sign the first game of the season. You just never know how these things go," Simmons said. "So, it's caused me to slow down and give up control because it's not in my control." The 2016 third-round pick out of Boston College has collected 603 tackles, 4.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, 30 interceptions (most since 2016), and 64 pass deflections in 118 games. While the 30-year-old likely isn't in his prime anymore, he can contribute to a win-now team.

The Tennessee Titans are looking to add to their secondary this offseason. The organization is reportedly showing interest in free agent safety Justin Simmons. The two-time Pro Bowler was recently released by the Denver Broncos in a cap-saving move. It had nothing to do with his ability as he registered 70 tackles and three interceptions last season. Simmons still has plenty left in the tank and he should have a fairly strong market. The Titans were reportedly interested in C.J. Gardner-Johnson before he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, the Titans will go to Plan B, but Simmons is a great second option.
