New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been one of the best at his position in team history, but he could be nearing the end of the line with his deal set up to make it easier to release him after the 2024 season. Kamara is looking for more long-term security, which is why he walked out of the team facility before the final mandatory minicamp practice because he's unhappy with his current deal. His contract ranked below only Christian McCaffrey when he signed it in 2020, but four years later, Kamara isn't anywhere close to CMC. The 28-year-old has surpassed 1,000 scrimmage yards in each of the last seven seasons and remains versatile, but the Saints may be considering moving on as he heads into his age-29 season. His abilities as a pass-catcher have kept him afloat in PPR formats, but even in those leagues, fantasy managers should consider him more of an RB2 moving forward.

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara may not report for the start of training camp if the Saints do not improve his contract situation, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Fantasy Spin: Kamara skipped some of the mandatory minicamp because of his contract situation, so fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation. He will be a weekly starting option in fantasy leagues during the regular season.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara skipped the team's final mandatory minicamp practice this week due to contract-related reasons, according to his agent, Brad Cicala. Kamara was in attendance for minicamp but didn't take part in on-field workouts as he seeks a new contract. The 28-year-old veteran has two years left on his current deal, and not much progress has been made on a new contract. The former third-round selection in 2017 was a Pro Bowler in each of his first five seasons in the league and has surpassed 1,000 scrimmage yards in all seven of his campaigns for the Saints. However, Kamara has never been a 1,000-yard rusher and had a career-low 694 rushing yards and five touchdowns in 13 games in 2023. Kamara is more attractive in PPR leagues for his pass-catching prowess. Keep in mind that he's averaged 4.0 yards per carry or less in the last three seasons.

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara skipped the team's final mandatory minicamp practice on Thursday, June 13, due to what is believed to be contract-related reasons, according to Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com.
Fantasy Spin: Kamara will get nearly a $10 million bump on his base salary over the last two years, so that is likely not the issue. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports the two sides have been discussing a contract restructure for a few months, likely with an eye on 2025 when Kamara is set to make $25 million. Expect the two sides to get something worked out over the next month or two to keep Kamara in New Orleans at a much lower number past this season.
From TheHuddle
New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara is expected to participate in the mandatory minicamp this upcoming week, according to head coach Dennis Allen. Kamara did not report for the voluntary workouts this offseason.
Fantasy Spin: Kamara should be the main running back for the Saints again this season and should see plenty of touches each game. He should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues this upcoming season.
From TheHuddle
New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara has averaged 4.0 yards per rush or less in each of the last three seasons, and he has just one run of 30-plus yards in that span.
Fantasy Spin: Kamara is still catching a lot of passes, but he has also finished below 500 receiving yards in each of the last three years. Age isn't on Kamara's side, and it could be a good time to stash Kendre Miller, especially in keeper leagues.
From TheHuddle
NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill believes that New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is going to bring a running game that will give running back Alvin Kamara "more space" to operate in 2024. Kubiak, who comes to New Orleans from the San Francisco 49ers, is expected to add plenty of pre-snap motion, something the Saints rarely did in 2023. The 28-year-old Kamara finished second among all RBs last year with 75 catches on 86 targets for 466 yards and a touchdown through the air. He added 180 rushing attempts for 694 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, so perhaps the addition of Kubiak will make Kamara more productive on the ground next season. Still, fantasy managers should have hesitations about Kamara's overall effectiveness as a rusher as he enters his age-29 campaign in 2024.
