2024 RTSports Outlook

Goedert missed three games in the middle of the season because of injury but still managed to finish 14th overall in fantasy tight end scoring. He had 59 receptions for 592 yards and three touchdowns. Goedert had four games with double-digit fantasy points. He wasn't off the charts last year but got consistent work in the Eagles explosive offense. He has three straight seasons with 55 or more receptions. Goedert is a big part of the Eagles offense. Injuries has been an issue for him throughout his career, though, having played a full season just once. Goedert is a big tight end that blocks well along the line but also can make plays in the passing game. He is a big target that does well with contested catches. He can be a big-play threat at the tight end spot because of his size and speed.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Goedert has the potential to be an elite fantasy tight end if all the pieces fall into place for him. Consider him a player to take right after the elite guys are going. His ceiling is very high in this offense. Just get a solid backup because injuries are always a concern for him. Expect around 65 receptions for 750 yards and six touchdowns.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert had an underwhelming 2023 campaign. He made 59 grabs for 592 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games, amounting to an average of 9.7 PPR points per game. That average output was his lowest since 2019, but it still kept him as the TE12 on a per-game basis. Goedert's 0.32 fantasy points per route run and 1.64 fantasy points per target were the worst marks of his career. Now, Goedert returns for his seventh season with the team. Like last year, receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith will serve as quarterback Jalen Hurts's top options. However, there is no established WR3 for the squad, with the role likely being filled by either Parris Campbell or rookie Johnny Wilson. Goedert also faces no real competition at the tight end position. He has been drafted as the TE12 recently, which makes him a potential value target. Goedert's efficiency should positively regress toward his baseline, and his target share should remain stable. Barring injuries, which have hampered Goedert over the years, he should outperform his stat line from a season ago.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert isn't concerned about it potentially being his last year with the team. "I feel really good," the veteran said in an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I'm not too worried about it. I love being in Philadelphia. I'm going to give them everything I've got and let the chips fall where they may fall." Goedert also believes he'll benefit from the hiring of new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. "He's been doing a great job of just making the offense make sense," commented Goedert. "I feel like it'll play in favor of the tight end, the quick game a little bit, getting back to the pivots. I'm really excited for how he uses the tight end and how he feels like they can be a big part of the offense and help win games. Goedert, who signed a four-year, $57 million contract extension in 2001, finished last season by amassing 592 yards and three touchdowns off a career-high 59 catches. With the tight end spot historically known for its volatility, fantasy managers certainly shouldn't look beyond the 29-year-old in drafts, considering he appears enthusiastic and ready to produce in 2024-25.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert had high praise for the offense under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and expects a bigger role in the passing game. 'I'm really excited for how he uses the tight end and how he feels like they can be a big part of the offense and help win games,' Geodert told The Philadelphia Inquirer on Saturday, June 22.

Fantasy Spin: Goedert posted 592 yards and just 42.3 yards per game in 2023, finishing as the TE12 in PPR points per game. His ceiling remains limited given the wide receiver duo in Philly, and the addition of Saquon Barkley is likely to eat into Goedert's target share. He's a low-end TE1 for fantasy.

Jan 16 9:50am CT

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert caught four of six targets for 21 yards and a touchdown during the team's 9-32 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 28-year-old did leave the game late in the fourth quarter with a knee injury, but there were no hopes for a comeback at that point, so the severity of his injury is unknown. Goedert had a few drops in this contest and was visibly upset with quarterback Jalen Hurts at one point during the second half. Goedert set a career-high in receptions despite missing three games in 2023, but he saw his yards per target take a big hit and failed to reach 600 receiving yards for the first time since 2020. With plenty of turnover coming in Philadelphia, Goedert will remain one of the staples of the Eagles' offense at the start of the 2024 regular season.

Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert posted four receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown on six targets in the NFC Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Jan. 15.

From TheHuddle

Jan 12 8:00pm CT

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will go on the road to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the NFL playoffs. The 28-year-old was active last week but was on the field for less than 40% of the snaps. After A.J. Brown (knee) left due to injury, Goedert followed suit in an effort to conserve one of the team's top receivers. He could be needed in a big way on Monday, as Brown has yet to return to practice. Tampa Bay struggled mightily to stop opposing tight ends this past regular season, as they gave up the third-most fantasy points to the position. Goedert caught five of seven targets for 41 yards against them in their first meeting back in Week 3 but could see an even higher target share if Brown is ruled out. Goedert has been hit or miss this year, but he will be a popular DFS option during the first round of the playoffs.

Jan 7 7:00pm CT

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert caught one of three targets for a four-yard gain during the team's 10-27 loss to the New York Giants. The Eagles' offense was out of sync all game without DeVonta Smith (ankle) and D'Andre Swift (illness) but got even worse once A.J. Brown (knee) went down early in the contest. The natural thought would be to throw the ball to the next most talented receiver, but with Jalen Hurts (finger) being pulled once the game was out of reach, the 28-year-old was barely involved the rest of the game. Goedert could be a big part of the offense next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the status of Brown and Smith currently unknown. He will be a top play in daily fantasy formats during Wild Card weekend.

Jan 5 8:20pm CT

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will go on the road to take on the New York Giants in Week 18. The 28-year-old has averaged seven targets per game since returning from a forearm injury and now should see a target bump with No. 2 wide receiver DeVonta Smith (ankle) out for the regular season finale. Goedert has already had a solid game against the Giants this season, catching seven of nine targets for 71 yards against them in Week 16. No other Eagles receiver has stepped up and been a consistent force this season outside of Smith, Goedert, and A.J. Brown, so expect Philadelphia to force-feed their top two options with one now missing. Goedert should be considered a top-five option in Week 18.

Dec 31 5:30pm CT

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert caught five of six targets for 47 yards and a touchdown during the team's 35-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The 28-year-old found the end zone for the first time since Week 7 and led the team in targets on Sunday. Despite a solid performance, Goedert was one of the few bright spots of the Eagles' offense during the upset loss. After the game, DeVonta Smith (foot) was spotted in a walking boot and sporting a pair of crutches. If he were to sit out the season finale, Goedert should see an increase in usage in the Eagles rematch against the New York Giants. The veteran will remain in the TE1 mix heading into the final week of the regular season.
