Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki (hamstring) has been cleared to play in the Week 6 contest against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football in Week 6. Gesicki's status for this weekend's game was in question after he didn't suit up for practice on Wednesday, but he returned a day later and was removed from the final injury report on Friday. He will officially be in play on Sunday night as a TE2 for fantasy managers in an offense with a lot of mouths to feed through the air. So far through the first five weeks of 2024, the 29-year-old has a total of 17 catches on 21 targets for 178 yards and no touchdowns. Gesicki posted season-highs in catches (seven) and receiving yards (91) back in the Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but that was also when receiver Tee Higgins was still out with a hamstring injury. The Giants defense has yet to allow a touchdown to a tight end this year.

Cincinnati Bengals CB D.J. Ivey (knee) practiced in full all week but is listed as doubtful for Week 6 versus the New York Giants. RB Chase Brown (quad) was limited in practice for a second straight day on Friday, Oct. 11, and is listed as questionable. CB Mike Hilton (knee) practiced in full all week but is also listed as questionable. QB Joe Burrow (wrist), TE Mike Gesicki (hamstring), DT Kris Jenkins (thumb), DT Sheldon Rankins (hamstring), OT Amarius Mims (calf), RB Zack Moss (foot) and DE Joseph Ossai (shoulder) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday but returned to a limited session on Thursday. Gesicki's status is still up in the air for Week 6 against the New York Giants on Sunday night, but his return to practice on Thursday is a good sign for his availability this weekend. If the 29-year-old carries a questionable status into the weekend, he'll be a much more risky fantasy play on Sunday night. In his first year with the Bengals, Gesicki has caught 17 of his 21 targets for 178 yards and no touchdowns through his first five games. He's currently the TE15 in half-PPR scoring and will most likely need to find the end zone to jump up into TE1 territory. If Gesicki doesn't end up playing in Week 6 or is limited, rookie Erick All Jr. would likely work as the primary pass-catching tight end and would have more TE2 streaming appeal.

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 10.

Fantasy Spin: Gesicki seems to have a chance to play this week, but fantasy players will know more in the next few days. He will see a few targets if he plays but probably can be avoided in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 10 12:00am CT

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. As the Bengals prepare for Week 6 against the New York Giants, there's a real chance they could be without their starting veteran tight end. Gesicki has 17 catches and 178 yards this year, but most of that production came over the first three weeks. His role has been drastically scaled back over the last two weeks, and now, it looks like he could be sidelined for Week 6. If so, rookie Erick All Jr., who has 14 catches through his last four games, would jump into the mid-to-low TE2 tier for fantasy football.

From RotoBaller

Oct 9 5:53pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Gesicki may be in danger of missing the Week 6 game if he does not take part in either of the final two practices of the week. He has played well at times this season, but fantasy players may want to look for other options to use this week.

From TheHuddle

Oct 6 8:23pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki ended up with two catches for 31 yards on his two targets in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Fantasy Spin: Gesicki had a big-time fantasy performance in Kansas City in Week 2, but the rest of his stat lines have been either poor or just mediocre. He has TE1 ability in fantasy leagues for his work in the red-zone, but so far he hasn't realized that potential in Cincinnati. He has zero scores, and remains more of a TE2 in most formats.

From TheHuddle

Sep 29 5:03pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki had one lone catch for minus-9 yards on his only target in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Spin: Gesicki flirted with 100 yards in Week 2, and he had at least three receptions in each of his first three games to produce borderline low-end TE1 or high-end TE2 numbers in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. This was a disaster, and he'll look to bounce back in Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens in what should be a tough matchup.

From TheHuddle

Sep 29 9:20am CT

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki was able to stay involved during last week's loss to the Washington Commanders. Gesicki hauled in four of his five targets for 47 yards in the loss. The veteran tight end has seen four or more targets in every game this season. He's not going to see a huge volume of work considering the Bengals have plenty of weapons at wide receiver. However, Gesicki should remain involved enough that he holds TE2 value against the Carolina Panthers in Week 4.

From RotoBaller

Sep 28 8:33pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki's 14 receptions are tied for fifth among tight ends heading into Week 4.

Fantasy Spin: After a quiet opener, Gesicki has logged 11 receptions on 14 targets for 138 yards over the last two games. Consider him a TE1 candidate against Carolina in Week 4.

From TheHuddle

Sep 24 8:40am CT

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki had four catches for 47 yards on five targets in the team's Monday night loss to Washington. Gesicki did not find the end zone but was decently productive as the team's third-leading receiver behind Ja'Marr Chase and Andrei Iosivas. Gesicki has always been a big red-zone threat so a lot of his value is dependent on him scoring touchdowns, which is not uncommon for fantasy tight ends. Backup tight end Erick All, Jr., caught all four of his targets, which cut into Gesicki's production a bit in this one. The veteran tight end, however, should be a threat week-to-week to find the end zone and remains on the fantasy radar at the position although he is not a weekly starter.

Sep 24 12:03am CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki ended up with four receptions for 47 yards on five targets in Week 3 against the Washington Commanders.

Fantasy Spin: Gesicki has not found the end zone in three games, but he does have three or more grabs in each of his first three outings. He has averaged 11.8 or more yards per reception in each of the past two outings. He has been a solid low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues, but hopefully he'll get some more looks in the red zone soon.

Sep 21 1:53pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki (hamstring) practiced in full on Saturday, Sept. 21, after being limited the two days prior and carries no designation for Week 3.

Fantasy Spin: Gesicki is coming off a monster performance in Week 2 but is going to have more competition for targets now that Tee Higgins is back. Gesicki remains a strong TE2 option, though.

From TheHuddle

Sep 21 1:43pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals DT Sheldon Rankins (hamstring) and TE Tanner Hudson (knee) did not practice on Saturday, Sept. 21, and were ruled out for Week 3. Also, DL B.J. Hill (hamstring) did not practice and is doubtful, S Vonn Bell (back) did not practice but is questionable, DL Kris Jenkins (thumb) practiced in full but is questionable, and QB Joe Burrow (wrist), TE Mike Gesicki (calf), WR Tee Higgins (hamstring) and OT Amarius Mims (pectoral) practiced in full and carry no designation.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 11:40pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki (calf) was limited during Friday's practice session and is questionable for Monday's game versus Washington. The 28-year-old had a touchdown called back in the Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots. However, he made amends by catching seven of his nine targets for 91 yards in the narrow loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. With many tight ends around the National Football League struggling, Gesicki has gained streaming appeal in 12-team formats. Yet, his status for Week 3 may not be revealed until Monday night, well after nearly every contest on the slate has been played. As a result, fantasy managers may want to consider an alternative for Week 3. If anything, Drew Sample and Erick All Jr. are likely available on the waiver wire. Still, both men aren't expected to do much versus the Washington Commanders, especially if Tee Higgins (hamstring) is back in the lineup after missing the Bengals' previous two contests.

From RotoBaller

Sep 20 3:53pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki (calf) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 20.

Fantasy Spin: Gesicki is coming off a terrific Week 2 performance, but his status for the upcoming game is still uncertain. Fantasy players an keep an eye on the situation over the next few days because Gesicki could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues if he is cleared to play.

From TheHuddle

Sep 19 4:00pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki (calf) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status before his matchup against the Commanders on Monday evening. However, seeing him at practice is a promising sign that the injury is not severe. Last week, the Penn State product caught seven of his nine targets for 91 yards. In the season opener, Gesicki caught three of his four targets. The 28-year-old has emerged as a prominent pass-catcher in this offense while Tee Higgins (hamstring) remains sidelined. Even if Higgins makes his 2024 season debut on Monday, Gesicki should still be viewed as a high-end TE2, given his current role in the Cincinnati offense.

From RotoBaller

Sep 19 3:53pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki (calf) was limited at practice on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Fantasy Spin: There's been nothing to suggest that Gesicki is in danger of missing Week 3. After a big performance in Week 2, Gesicki is a TE2 play if he suits up.

From TheHuddle

Sep 19 3:43pm CT

Cincinnati Bengals DL B.J. Hill (hamstring), TE Tanner Hudson (knee) and DT Sheldon Rankins (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday, Sept. 19. In addition, S Vonn Bell (back), TE Mike Gesicki (calf), WR Tee Higgins (hamstring), DT Kris Jenkins (thumb) and OT Amarius Mims (pectoral) were limited and QB Joe Burrow (wrist) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Sep 16 12:13am CT

Cincinnati Bengals TE Mike Gesicki caught seven of his nine targets for 91 yards in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fantasy Spin: Joe Burrow made a concerted effort to get his tight ends involved in this one. None benefited more than Gesicki, who posted his highest catch and yardage totals in nearly three years. There is a chance Gesicki can keep this up (10 catches for 109 yards through two weeks), although part of the reason he has been so active in 2024 is that Tee Higgins (hamstring) has yet to play. With Higgins expected back next week, Gesicki makes for a dicey start in fantasy in Week 3 against the Washington Commanders.
