Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith completed 33-of-44 passes for 327 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 2 against the New England Patriots, while running five times for eight yards.

Fantasy Spin: Despite the 300-yard game, Smith is still more of a low-end QB2 only worth using when your primary starter has a difficult match, nagging injury or a bye. The Seahawks host the Miami Dolphins in Week 3 at Lumen Field.

Sep 15 4:10pm CT

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith played a nearly flawless game in Week 2 against the New England Patriots. Smith threw for 327 yards and a touchdown. He had a 75% completion percentage. Smith is falling back into the hyper-accurate form that he displayed in the 2022 season. His completion percentage does not account for the several drops by Seahawks pass catchers. Smith seems to be comfortable operating new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb's offense. His play is supporting the fantasy value of other Seahawks players as well. Look for Smith to continue his solid start in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.

Seahawks' QB Geno Smith passed for 327 yards on 33-of-44 with one touchdown in Sunday's win in New England.

Sep 13 6:40pm CT

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is in store for his usual 15-20 fantasy points in Week 2 against the New England Patriots. Smith only threw for 171 yards in Week 1. He salvaged his fantasy day with a 34-yard touchdown run. The good news is that once Smith settled into offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb's offense, he started to sling the ball like we know he can. His completion percentage was 72% and he currently sits at 10th in the league in QBR. This does not project to be a very high-scoring game so look for Smith to hover around 200 passing yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Sep 8 8:30pm CT

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith threw for 171 yards and one touchdown along with one interception in his season debut. Smith added 30 yards and a touchdown on the ground. His 34-yard run for a touchdown was his best highlight of the day. Smith started the game slow and threw an interception on his second pass of the game. However, Smith rebounded nicely and finished with a 72% completion rate. His rushing baseline carried him to 18.84 fantasy points on Sunday. Smith's fantasy output was similar to his games during his breakout 2022 campaign two years ago. The Seahawks offense clicked in the second half of Sunday's game and Smith capitalized. He will look to carry that momentum into New England in Week 2.

Sep 8 8:23pm CT

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith completed 18 of his 25 passes for 171 yards, a touchdown and an interception and rushed four times for 30 yards and a score in a 26-20 win over the Denver Broncos in Week 1.

Sep 8 4:20pm CT

Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle George Fant (knee) won't return to Sunday's game against the Broncos. The situation certainly didn't look good, as the veteran couldn't put weight on his leg. He also needed assistance to the locker room. Fant, who signed with the team in March, was brought in to bolster an offensive line that isn't loaded with talent. With that said, there will likely be an update soon. However, any injury to the offensive line isn't good news for Geno Smith and company.

Sep 5 7:40pm CT

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith finds himself outside of the starting options at the position in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. This is nothing against Smith who should actually have a bounce-back season with new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. The matchup is also relatively neutral as the Denver Broncos were middle of the pack against quarterbacks in 2023. However, the position is so deep that you should have better options available. If you are in dire need of a quarterback, or you play in a two-quarterback league, then Smith is a fine option. He should be able to amass 15-20 fantasy points in Week 1.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith went 4/5 for 62 yards and a touchdown on the Seahawks' opening drive against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. The drive included highlight reel throws of 25 yards to Jaxon Smith-Njigba and a 21-yard touchdown to DK Metcalf. After throwing an incomplete pass to Metcalf on the opening play, Smith went 4/4 over the next four plays to drive Seattle 62 yards for the touchdown. Fantasy managers can hope to see this type of efficiency and effectiveness when the regular season kicks off in a couple of weeks. If Smith plays like this, he will be a streaming option throughout the season. Additionally, this type of play would help support the pass catchers in Seattle.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is reportedly seeking a new contract, according to Kole Musgrove of USA Today. Smith's current contract is set to expire after the conclusion of the 2025 season. NFL insider Mike Garafolo said on Jason Puckett's podcast that both sides have discussed a new deal. Garafolo further noted that it could be something that is settled by Week 1, but the Seattle front office is not in a rush to get the deal done. While Smith may be entering his age 33 season, he does not have a lot of miles on him as he served as a backup for several seasons with the Jets, Giants, and Seahawks before taking over the starting role. Smith is worth drafting as a low-end QB2 in superflex formats but could have some upside, given the high-quality pass catchers on his offense.

Aug 12 7:30pm CT

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said on Monday that the team's starters probably won't play much in the second preseason game this Saturday against the Tennessee Titans. The starters will get their work in joint practices with the Titans this week. Smith and the rest of the offensive starters also sat out of Saturday's preseason opener versus the Los Angeles Chargers. The 33-year-old Smith missed some time early in training camp with minor hip and knee injuries, but he's fine now and should be 100% ready for the Week 1 regular-season opener against the visiting Denver Broncos. There is plenty of optimism for a bounce-back year for Smith and Seattle's entire offense under the new coaching staff and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb. Treat Smith as a low-end QB2 target with upside in upcoming fantasy drafts.

Aug 8 7:10pm CT

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is not expected to play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to head coach Mike Macdonald. Along with Smith, some other offensive starters won't play, either. Smith certainly won't be the only starting signal-caller around the league to sit out of the first preseason games this week. The 33-year-old also missed some practice time early in training camp due to hip and knee injuries, so the Seahawks aren't going to take any chances with the veteran early in the preseason. In new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb's system, Smith could look more like he did in his career-best season in 2022 than he did in 2023, especially with one of the best receiver trios in the game in DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Smith is a high-end QB2 with QB1 upside in favorable matchups.

Aug 7 7:00pm CT

The new Seattle Seahawks coaching staff really likes quarterback Geno Smith, and offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has tailored his offense around Smith's strengths. "For people that haven't seen Geno throw in person, I think he's special," Grubb said. "He's an elite quarterback." Grubb's belief that Smith can make every throw is why the offense is shaped around his skill set. Smith has justified the coaches' faith in him with a strong training camp, and Seattle will likely view Smith and the passing game as diverse enough to have counterpunches for everything. The 33-year-old took a step back in 2023 after a career year in 2022, but he could be due for a step forward again under Grubb, whose offense at Washington was among the best in college football over the last two years. Nobody is saying fantasy managers should feel comfortable with Smith as their QB1, but he makes for a very strong QB2.

Aug 6 8:50pm CT

The Seattle Seahawks have signed center Connor Williams (knee) to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million on Tuesday. Williams' 2023 was spent with the Miami Dolphins, where an ACL injury ended his season in Week 14. Agent Drew Rosenhaus said that Williams made a "miraculous" recovery following surgery on his torn ACL, and would be ready in time for the beginning of training camps. As one of the top interior offensive linemen in his time with the Dolphins and before that, the Cowboys, the addition of Williams certainly will fortify the offensive interior for Geno Smith and the skill-position players this season. A healthy Williams should be in the conversation for Seattle's starting center job.

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (hip/knee) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 5.

Fantasy Spin: As long as Smith is healthy, he's a viable QB2 option for fantasy managers.

From TheHuddle

Aug 5 12:40pm CT

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (hip, knee) has returned to training camp practice on Monday and is doing some throwing in full pads. Smith injured both his hip and knee during practice last week but is back on the field and should be just fine in time for the start of the 2024 regular season this fall. The 33-year-old probably won't play in the team's preseason opener this Saturday against the Los Angeles Chargers, though. Smith had by the far the best season of his career in 2022, throwing for 4,282 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 starts, but he predictably came back down to Earth last year and finished with 3,624 passing yards, 20 TDs and nine picks in 15 games. He still has one of the best receiving duos in the league in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, so a bounce-back year is possible, just don't expect Smith to be a top-12 fantasy QB when all is said and done.

From RotoBaller

Aug 3 9:20pm CT

After missing several practices, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (knee, hip) is expected to return to practice early next week. His testing came back clean, not revealing "anything significant," and the Seahawks can breathe a collective sigh of relief. The 33-year-old gives Seattle's offense its best chance of success, which accounts for his loaded wide receiver corps. This is still a situation to monitor, as we've yet to see him return to practice in full, but if Smith is healthy, there is a lot to be excited about with Ryan Grubb's new offensive scheme in Seattle. The 11-year veteran is RotoBaller's QB22 in superflex rankings and is an attractive sleeper target at his ADP (No. 101 on Sleeper). Geno is just two years removed from a 30-touchdown, 4,282-yard season while completing nearly 70% (69.8) of his passes.

Aug 3 5:23pm CT

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (hip, knee) did not participate in practice Saturday, Aug. 3, but is expected to return to practice next week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Spin: It seems like Smith is dealing with some minor issues, but fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation. He has one of the better receiver corps to work with but probably should still be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

From TheHuddle

Aug 2 12:20pm CT

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (knee/hip) had testing done on his injured knee and hip, and tests did not reveal anything significant. According to one of Adam Schefter's sources, Smith "shouldn't miss any time." This is great news for the longtime journeyman turned solid starter heading into 2024. Smith has thrown for nearly 8,000 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions in his last 32 starts after taking over for longtime franchise quarterback Russell Wilson in Seattle. With D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Noah Fant, and Kenneth Walker III still on the roster, the 33-year-old has enough upside to be a solid QB2 in Superflex formats. However, fantasy managers should not count on him as a starter in single-QB setups given his lack of high-end rushing upside.

From RotoBaller

Aug 2 9:33am CT

Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (knee, hip) had imaging done that didn't reveal anything major, and he's not expected to miss time.

Fantasy Spin: Smith is a so-so QB2 and is best served in two-QB leagues.
