Dynasty | The Colts have benched quarterback Anthony Richardson. Dynasty Analysis: The Colts are 4-4 and it seems Head Coach Shane Steichen may be feeling some heat. Richardson has come under fire this week after "tapping out" during the Colts most recent contest and has been borderline miserable all year, posting just 958 passing yards with four touchdowns and seven interceptions on a completion percentage of, wait for it, 44.4%. The Colts will turn to Joe Flacco and say all the right things, but Richardson may have just lost the locker room for good. His dynasty value is going to start sinking quickly after this move.
The Indianapolis Colts will roll with veteran Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback on Sunday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings following the early-career struggles of Anthony Richardson. Richardson has started in just 10 games since being selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, completing 50.2% of his passes for 1,535 yards, seven touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He's racked up 378 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. The Colts are moving him to the bench, but that does not mean his time in Indianapolis is nearing an end. ESPN Colts writer Stephen Holder reporters a team source told him, "We are not quitting on Anthony. That will be the story, but that is not the case." Either way, this is somewhat of a surprising development since most viewed Richardson as a long-term project due to his lack of experience in college and the NFL. Fantasy managers might consider dropping Richardson in redraft leagues, but he remains a hold in dynasty formats.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has been benched, with Joe Flacco taking over as the starter. The veteran quarterback will start Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings, his fourth this season. Richardson has struggled this season, completing only 44.4% of his pass attempts in six games. Many wonder if the team is giving up on the former No. 4 overall pick too quickly. However, fantasy players welcome the change at quarterback. Flacco has been significantly better for the Colts' pass catchers, especially Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs. Flacco is a must-add off the waiver wire in single-quarterback and superflex leagues. Meanwhile, Pittman and Downs have WR2 upside with the veteran under center. a

Per Arye Pulli of the NFL, Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen would not commit to Anthony Richardson starting at quarterback in Week 9. "We're evaluating everything," proclaimed Steichen. Yikes. It's a rough turn of events for the second-year starter, but not exactly one that's a surprise. The former Florida Gator has had a tough go in his appearances this season, failing to complete more than ten passes in 4-of-5 contests that he's played the entire game. Alternatively, veteran Joe Flacco excelled in his three outings, tossing seven touchdowns to just one interception. Fantasy managers must track this developing story ahead of the team's Week 9 road matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. If the team does turn to Flacco, it'd be an instant boost for the outlooks of Indy's pass-catchers. Stay tuned.

It was another rough afternoon for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, completing just 10 of 32 passes for 175 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The 22-year-old also fumbled twice, losing one of them, and was sacked five times, while 69 of his total passing yards came on a single play to Josh Downs. If not for that one play and Richardson gaining 45 yards on the ground, it would have been an even more forgettable performance. The former first-round draft pick also left the game briefly, which seemed concerning at the time, but after the game he said he just "needed a break." Now with a 44.4% completion rate on the year with a 4:7 TD:INT, it is hard to imagine things will get better in Week 9 on the road versus a Vikings defense that is top three in the league in interceptions and sacks.

Dynasty | Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson completed just 10-of-32 passes for 175 yards with one touchdown and one interception in a loss against Houston. Dynasty Analysis: He added 45 rushing yards. The fantasy total wasn't awful, but Richardson's completion percentage of 44% this season is downright awful. He came out of the game healthy again, but he needs to start making more accurate throws and better decisions if he wants to be the long-term answer for the Colts. His dynasty value is going to remain static, but he really hasn't taken much of a step forward thus far in 2024.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson completed less than 50% of his passes again in his return to the starting role last week, completing 10 of 24 passes for a miserly 129 yards and no touchdowns. On the bright side, he did not throw an interception and contributed 56 yards on the ground on 14 carries, but he did not find the end zone there either. In the four full games Richardson has played, the 22-year-old has a 47.4% completion rate and is averaging a meager 178 yards passing per game along with a 3:6 TD:INT. Despite these uninspiring numbers, the second-year pro will face the Texans in Week 8, a team allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks so far this season and one who Richardson tallied three touchdowns (two pass, one rush) against back in Week 1. Still, the former first-round draft pick is a low-end QB2 this week and there are probably higher-floor streaming options for those in need.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has struggled as a passer early on in the season. Richardson saw his struggles continue on Sunday when he completed 41.7 percent of his passes for 129 yards in the win over the Miami Dolphins. Despite his struggles, head coach Shane Steichen is showing faith in his young-signal caller and even said he needs to put Richardson in better positions to succeed. In parts of five games, Richardson has thrown for 783 yards with three touchdowns and six interceptions. The Colts are sticking with Richardson, but fantasy managers might want to look for another viable option given his struggles.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson completed ten of his 24 passing attempts for 129 yards in the team's 16-10 win over the Miami Dolphins, throwing no touchdowns and no interceptions. Richardson found some success on the ground, running the ball 14 times for a team-high 56 yards, but did lose a fumble in the red zone in the first half. Richardson has struggled to put up big numbers through the air this season and hasn't seen incredibly high numbers on the ground to help compensate from a fantasy perspective. Fantasy managers can view Richardson as a low-end QB1 option in Week 8 when the Colts visit the Houston Texans.

Dynasty | Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson completed 10-of-24 passes for 129 yards, adding 56 rushing yards in a win against Miami. Dynasty Analysis: In a game that wasn't exactly the NFL's signature showcase of the year, Richardson failed to throw a touchdown or an interception. He continues to carve out dynasty value with his legs, but also needs to improve dramatically as a passer before anyone believes he can really reach his ceiling. At this point, Richardson still looks like a project and his dynasty value is starting to slip.
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) will start on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins in Week 7. Richardson suffered an oblique injury in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and missed the last two games as a result. However, the 22-year-old former first-rounder practiced in full all week and has been cleared to return to action this weekend. Veteran Joe Flacco ran the offense better than Richardson in his two games as the starter, but Indy is sticking with Richardson now that he's fully healthy. The young and inexperienced signal-caller has elite rushing upside but remains incomplete as a passer and threw six interceptions and only three touchdowns in his first four games this year. Against Miami, fantasy managers should treat him as a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 in his return.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) practiced in full for the second straight day this week on Thursday. Richardson has missed the last two weeks due to an oblique injury he suffered in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he's well on his way to taking back the starting gig under center from veteran Joe Flacco, who tossed five touchdowns and one interception in his two starts. Although Richardson looked shaky as a passer in his first four games before the injury, completing only 50.6% of his passes while tossing six interceptions and three touchdowns. The 22-year-old's rushing upside is undeniable, but injuries and his lack of accuracy are major concerns after he played in only four games in his rookie season in 2024. Richardson should be considered a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 in fantasy if he returns in Week 7.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) should be a full participant in practice on Wednesday. Richardson injured his oblique in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and has missed the last two games as a result. The 22-year-old second-year signal-caller was close to returning this past Sunday, but the Colts held him out as a precaution in the Week 6 win over the division-rival Tennessee Titans. Veteran Joe Flacco has looked much better under center the last two weeks, but the Colts are adamant that Richardson remains their starter moving forward, and he's expected to start this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, barring a setback with his oblique. Richardson has elite rushing ability but has developed an injury-prone label quickly and leaves a lot to be desired as a passer. Consider him a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 if he plays in Week 7.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said on Monday that quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is "really close" to returning after missing the last two games due to a right-oblique injury he suffered in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Unless Richardson suffers a setback this week, he's expected to start on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. He served as the emergency QB in the Week 6 win over the division-rival Tennessee Titans. "Obviously, Joe Flacco is a really good player and been playing good ball for us," Steichen said. "But when Anthony's healthy, he's our quarterback." Staying on the field has been an issue for Richardson early in his NFL career, as he's exited with an injury in four of his eight career games. All four of his NFL injuries have come on runs, raising questions about his long-term durability. The rushing upside is there for the former fourth overall pick, but he needs to improve as a passer to become a viable QB1 option in fantasy.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said on Monday that barring a setback, quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) will play in Week 7 on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins at Lucas Oil Stadium. It was looking like Richardson was trending towards a return to play in the Week 6 win over the division-rival Tennessee Titans after returning to full practice last week, but the Colts decided to play it safe and hold him out a second week in a row. Even though the veteran Joe Flacco has looked better than Richardson in his two starts, the Colts will turn back to the 22-year-old second-year signal-caller when he gets the green light. Richardson provides elite rushing potential from the QB position, but he's proven injury-prone early in his NFL career and has been pretty bad as a passer in his first eight NFL starts, dating back to last year. If he returns this Sunday, fantasy managers should consider him a low-end QB1/high-end QB2 against Miami.

Dynasty | Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson is the emergency quarterback today, despite practicing all week. Dynasty Analysis: Joe Flacco has given the Colts a spark off the bench as he has done for seemingly 58 other teams over the last six decades. Richardson practiced all week but the Colts have decided he wasn't ready to start. This seems to be a bit of an indictment on Richardson's early season struggles and the Colts may simply feel they need to determine if they can contend for a playoff spot with Flacco starting today. A win would put the Colts at 3-3 and in the thick of things while a loss would leave them at 2-4. The fact Richardson isn't starting in a critical game despite practicing all week is a bad sign for his dynasty value at the moment.
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans. He had been listed as questionable and was actually expected to play this week, but at the last minute, the Colts have made him inactive and will start Joe Flacco instead. It's worth noting that Richardson will be the Colts' emergency third quarterback on Sunday, so he could still enter the game if both Flacco and Sam Ehlinger become too injured to play. Nevertheless, the second-year quarterback should be moved to the bench in all fantasy leagues.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) continues to trend toward returning for Sunday's meeting with the Tennessee Titans. He's currently listed as questionable. However, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the signal-caller should play if he has a "solid pre-game workout." Despite entering the 2024-25 campaign with plenty of hype, Richardson hasn't delivered, throwing for 654 yards, three touchdowns, and six picks while completing just 50.6% of his throws. As a result, he's a risky fantasy option no matter the opponent, although his outlook will improve slightly if Michael Pittman Jr. (back) and Josh Downs (toe) suit up in Week 6. Fortunately, both players are expected to get on the field.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is expected to play in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans barring a late-week surprise, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. Richardson suffered an oblique injury in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and was sidelined last weekend. This week, Richardson was able to log a limited practice session on Wednesday but was able to upgrade to full participation on Thursday and Friday, which suggests he should be in line to return to action. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the weekend in case he faces a setback. Richardson has struggled to remain consistent throughout his young career and remains a high-risk, high-upside QB1 against the Titans.
From RotoBaller
Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) will be questionable to play on Sunday against the division-rival Tennessee Titans in Week 6. Richardson suffered an oblique injury in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and was questionable last week before sitting out in the Week 5 loss to the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. He's questionable again this weekend, but the fact that Richardson returned to a full practice on Thursday bodes well for his chances of returning. Steichen said earlier this week that the struggling Richardson will be the team's starting QB when healthy. If the 22-year-old is active, he'll be a shaky QB1/2 given his struggles so far in his second season and the fact that the Colts are without running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and could be without receivers Michael Pittman Jr. (back) and Josh Downs (toe).
