The Pittsburgh Steelers have declared WR Roman Wilson, LB Alex Highsmith, QB Russell Wilson, OT Max Scharping, RB Jaylen Warren, TE MyCole Pruitt and RB Cordarrelle Patterson inactive for Week 5.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 3:20pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) will not play on Sunday, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network due to an ankle injury. The veteran running back left last weekend's game early with an ankle injury. During the week, Patterson did not participate in any team practices and will set his sights on returning in Week 6. The 33-year-old was pushed up to the No.2 spot on the depth chart last weekend with Jaylen Warren (knee) sitting out, which allowed him to see six rushing attempts and two targets before suffering the injury. Fantasy managers should expect Najee Harris to have a large workload on Sunday night when the Steelers host the Cowboys and should be started in all leagues as an RB2.

From RotoBaller

Oct 4 3:03pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (knee), LB Alex Highsmith (groin), TE MyCole Pruitt (knee) and RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys. QB Russell Wilson (calf) and DT Larry Ogunjobi (groin) were limited in practice on Friday, Oct. 4, and are listed as questionable. LB Jeremiah Moon (ankle) practiced in full all week but is also listed as questionable. OG Isaac Seumalo (pectoral) was limited in practice on Friday but no longer appears on the injury report. LB Nick Herbig (ankle), DL Keeanu Benton (ankle) and DT Cameron Heyward (rest) practiced in full on Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

Oct 4 2:53pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers RBs Jaylen Warren (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Spin: The rocky start to Warren's season continues. Najee Harris should be primed for 20 or more touches against a Dallas defense that will not have the services of at least two of its best defensive players in Micah Parsons (ankle) and DeMarcus Lawrence (foot). Harris should be a solid RB2 option with RB1 upside given how porous the Cowboys have been against the run for most of the season.

From TheHuddle

Oct 3 3:33pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Spin: Patterson suffered the injury in the last game and appears to be on track to miss at least one game. Aaron Shampklin likely will serve as the No. 2 running back this week but can be avoided in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 2 2:53pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Fantasy Spin: Patterson was productive in Week 4 before the injury, so fantasy players can keep an eye on his status during the week. He will see some touches if he is cleared to play in Week 5 but can be avoided in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 29 6:23pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson rushed six times for 43 yards in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts, while going for two receptions for 19 yards on two targets.

Fantasy Spin: Patterson was filling the usual role of injured Jaylen Warren, and he averaged 7.2 yards per attempt. Najee Harris was stuck in neutral, going for 13 carries and 19 yards. If Warren is forced to miss additional time, Patterson could potentially see a larger role going forward. He is still only worth fantasy attention in deeper leagues at this point.

From TheHuddle

Sep 29 2:10pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) has officially been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's contest against the Indianapolis Colts. He'll finish as the team's leading rusher so far with six carries for 43 yards as well as two receptions for 19 yards. The 12-year veteran was the lone silver lining for the Steelers before leaving, and the offense has struggled even more since then. The Steelers have only managed to score three points through two and a half quarters so far. Najee Harris continues to get the starter's workload while Aaron Shampklin is the only other healthy back on the roster. They likely won't be running the ball much more as they'll attempt a comeback win in the third and fourth quarter.

From RotoBaller

Sep 29 1:53pm CT

Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) will not return to the Week 4 game because of his ankle injury.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players can monitor the situation to see how long Patterson may be sidelined. Jaylen Warren will reclaim the backup running back role when he returns, so Patterson probably will not have much value moving forward.

From TheHuddle

Sep 29 1:50pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) has been one of the only bright spots for the team so far, but had to leave the game with an ankle injury and has been deemed questionable to return. The veteran back posted 43 yards on six carries and two receptions for 19 yards through the air. The Steelers' offense hasn't been able to move the ball at all except for some of the plays that Patterson put together. With him sidelined, the struggle will seemingly get worse as the only healthy running backs left are Najee Harris and Aaron Shampklin. Harris registered a measly 0.8 yards per carry before halftime while Shampklin received one carry for five yards. If Patterson can get back on the field, he may be the best option for the Steelers to sneak out a win.

From RotoBaller

Sep 29 1:23pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the Week 4 game and is considered questionable to return.

Fantasy Spin: Patterson was receiving a bigger role this week but may only see a few touches because of the injury. Najee Harris will receive most of the work at running back and can be at least a flex option in leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 27 3:03pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.

Fantasy Spin: Patterson will serve as the No. 2 running back for the Steelers this week and should receive some touches in both the running and passing game. He probably can be avoided in most leagues but could be a possible flex option in some deeper leagues.

From TheHuddle

Aug 24 6:10pm CT

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Cordarrelle Patterson handled three rushing attempts for 31 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason loss to the Detroit Lions. Patterson worked with Pittsburgh's first-team offense as a complement to Najee Harris with Jaylen Warren (hamstring) sidelined. He exploded for a 31-yard score on the Steelers' opening drive and earned one touch on their second possession. Given Patterson's history with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith and the lack of proven receiving options on Pittsburgh's offense, the 33-year-old could see utilization in the regular season, especially if Warren misses time. He is best left undrafted in most fantasy leagues, however.

From RotoBaller

Aug 9 5:40pm CT

The Pittsburgh Steelers activated running back/wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (undisclosed) from the Non-Football Injury list on Friday after he passed a physical. Patterson will now be able to join the rest of his teammates in practice at training camp. The 33-year-old followed Arthur Smith from Atlanta to Pittsburgh and will most likely serve as the team's kick returner on special teams. The former 29th overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2013 out of Tennessee produced a career-high 695 rushing yards and eight touchdowns for the Falcons in 2022 but fell back to Earth big time in 2023, seeing 50 carries for only 181 yards. In Pittsburgh's backfield, he's third on the depth chart behind Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren and will most likely be used sparingly as more of a gadget player when he's not returning kicks.
