Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor will line up against the Jacksonville Jaguars this coming Sunday. The third-year wideout had a few helpful fantasy performances earlier this season but has largely been an afterthought in the Vikings' offense in recent weeks. With the return of tight end T.J. Hockenson, Nailor is likely the fourth or fifth option in Minnesota's passing attack, with fellow WRs Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and running back Aaron Jones all pacing him in target thus far. Even in an excellent matchup against the Jaguars defense, the 25-year-old is little more than a touchdown-dependent desperation play this Sunday. Nailor ranks as RotoBaller's PPR WR61 ahead of this weekend.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor was quiet on the field during Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Nailor hauled in two of his four targets for 16 yards in the loss. This 16-yard performance was his second worst of the season. It probably won't get better for Nailor with tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee) expected to make his season debut next week. Nailor is only going to fall back further on the pecking order going forward. He's worth a stash in some dynasty formats because of his potential, but isn't going to offer weekly viable value once Hockenson is back on the field.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor is riding the momentum of a strong Week 7 into this Thursday's clash with the Los Angeles Rams. The 25-year-old turned in his highest reception and yardage totals of the season last Sunday, catching four of five targets for 76 yards. It's been an inconsistent year for Nailor, who was a productive WR3 for the first three weeks of the season before catching just one pass between Weeks 4 and 5. It's unclear which version of Nailor we'll see in Week 8, but it's worth noting that the Rams have been productive against wide receivers this year. Los Angeles has surrendered the ninth-fewest fantasy points and third-fewest receptions to opposing wide receivers so far. He's tough to trust in fantasy lineups despite managers balancing an onslaught of injuries and bye weeks.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor caught four of his five targets for 76 receiving yards during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Detroit Lions. Nailor operated as the Vikings' No. 3 receiver, but he still played 73.3 percent of the offensive snaps and was clearly heavily involved in the passing attack. In fact, Nailor had more targets, receptions, and yards than Jordan Addison, and he came just five receiving yards shy of Justin Jefferson's Week 7 mark. It's not often that you can plug a team's No. 3 receiver into your fantasy lineups, but Nailor has become an appealing option ahead of Week 8 versus a suspect Los Angeles Rams defense.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor caught three of his four targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in Week 3's blowout of the Houston Texans. The third-year receiver spent the last two-and-a-half games as the Vikings de facto WR2 with Jordan Addison (ankle) recovering from an ankle injury, and he's been paying dividends for the team. Nailor is one of only three receivers in the league to score a touchdown in each game so far this year, and he's a reliable hand when Justin Jefferson's gravity schemes him open. The former sixth-round pick hopes to continue the momentum in Week 4, as he may be needed depending on Addison's status for Week 4's matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor has been a pleasant surprise for the undefeated Vikings offense so far. The third-year wide receiver is one of only five wide receivers to have scored a touchdown in both games for their team to start the year, joining his teammate Justin Jefferson (quadriceps) in that stat category. Nailor will be starting alongside Jefferson again in Week 3 against the Houston Texans, with Jordan Addison (ankle) missing at least one more game. Given that the team will likely be in an unfavorable game script against Houston, expect the team to pass more later in the game, possibly allowing Nailor to make big plays in the receiving game and potentially reward fantasy managers with another score.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor has impressed head coach Kevin O'Connell so far this season with Jordan Addison (ankle) missing time and allowing Nailor to see more time on the field. O'Connell specifically was pleased with the speed Nailor has shown and the separation he has been able to get on his routes against man coverage. Nailor was targeted four times and caught three passes for 54 yards in Week 2 against the 49ers. Justin Jefferson (quad) is also a little banged up so there is an opportunity for Nailor to continue to see targets in this offense. He is a sneaky speculative waiver-wire pickup this week as the Vikings' injury situation at wide receiver continues to play out.
From RotoBaller
Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell praised wide receiver Jalen Nailor, highlighting his speed and versatility: "I just was really, really happy just how fast he played. Even on routes he wasn't targeted, you could see the separation and his ability to win against man coverage." In the Vikings' 23-17 victory over the 49ers, Nailor caught three of four targets for 54 yards and a touchdown, finishing second in receiving yards behind Justin Jefferson (quadriceps). His 10-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter marked his second touchdown in as many weeks. With Jordan Addison sidelined due to an ankle injury, Nailor played 93% of offensive snaps, becoming a key contributor. Despite flying under the radar, he's only minimally rostered in leagues but could be a valuable speculative add if Jefferson or Addison miss time. In a potential high-scoring Week 3 matchup against the Texans, Nailor could step in as the No. 2 wideout for Sam Darnold.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor caught 3-of-4 targets for 54 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 23-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. It's the second week in a row with a TD for the 25-year-old, as despite him drawing just one target last week -- he made it count with a 21-yard score. Nailor saw his playing time tick up in Week 2 with the news that teammate Jordan Addison (ankle) was ruled out with a nagging injury. It was a solid performance by the former sixth-round pick as he builds off a strong preseason where he was one of the most productive Vikings' skill players. Addison's timetable for return is not exactly clear. However, he does still face potential disciplinary action from the league stemming from a Jul. 11 incident in which he fell asleep at the wheel while driving under the influence of alcohol. His court date is Oct. 7. Nailor seems to be the next man up and will be an intriguing asset if Addison is forced to miss more time. Minnesota will square up against the Houston Texans in Week 3.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (ankle) has been cleared to suit up for Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the New York Giants. Nailor was able to log in a full practice to close out the week after being limited earlier in the week. He's expected to be the third wideout on this roster behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Sadly, there probably won't be a ton of targets left for Nailor with those two likely seeing the bulk of them. Nailor should be considered a desperation play in deep leagues heading into Week 1. The third-year wideout is unlikely to have a huge role while Jefferson and Addison are healthy.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor played only one drive but saw two looks in the team's second preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. The third-year wideout reeled in one of his two targets for an impressive 31-yard nab on 3rd-and-7 as he continues to impress for the competition of third wide receiver on the Vikings. The two players ahead of Nailor -- Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison -- did not play, giving the former sixth-round selection an opportunity to shine. Given the open-ended nature of Addison's pending court hearing and possible suspension, wideout depth is critical to assess. Nailor has answered the call well in both preseason games, bringing in four receptions for 94 yards in his three preseason drives so far. He's the clear favorite for a Vikings team that loves to use three-receiver sets.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor, a sixth-round pick in 2022, seems to have emerged as the pretty clear favorite for the No. 3 wideout job this year behind starters Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison thanks to a strong training camp. Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield Sr. will also have roles, especially because they are willing run-blockers in a scheme that requires that of its receivers, but Nailor is the one who has made the most plays in camp. The Vikings listed Nailor and Powell as co-starters at WR3 on their first unofficial depth chart of the preseason. The 25-year-old Nailor isn't going to be drafted in standard 12-team leagues, but he could be a sneaky waiver-wire pickup at some point in 2024 if Addison is forced to miss time due to a suspension. Nailor has caught 12 of 19 targets for 208 yards and one touchdown in his first two years in the league in 21 games (one start).
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receivers Jalen Nailor and Brandon Powell were listed as co-starters in the No. 3 role on the team's first unofficial depth chart. The wideout spot behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison is open following the departure of K.J. Osborn, and the pair of pass-catchers are the prime candidates to fill that gap. Nailor, a sixth-round pick out of Michigan State in 2022, has tallied 12 receptions for 208 yards and one touchdown through his first 21 NFL games. Powell, an undrafted free agent in 2018, has hauled in 76 receptions for 678 yards and three touchdowns in 55 games with the Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Rams, and Vikings. It will be interesting to see who comes out of the camp battle victorious, but neither is likely to have much fantasy value in an offense led by Sam Darnold or rookie J.J. McCarthy. However, one of the two wideouts could have deep-league value early in the season if Addison is suspended following his misdemeanor DUI charge, especially since tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee) is likely to miss the start of the regular season.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor has reportedly been impressing the organization early in training camp. The former sixth-round pick has done everything asked of him and continues to make a good impression. The biggest problem for Nailor has been injuries. He has been held to a total of 21 games over his first two seasons in the league. If healthy, Nailor has a real shot at earning the WR3 role on this offseason. The Vikings don't have a ton of viable options behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Right now, Nailor is competing with Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield Sr. for the third wideout job. Nailor could offer some deep league value if he's able to secure that role heading into the regular season.
From RotoBaller
It's clear that the Minnesota Vikings are hoping to see a jump from wide receiver Jalen Nailor in training camp this summer before making any final determinations about whether to acquire a veteran No. 3 wideout before the start of the 2024 regular season. Justin Jefferson is the obvious WR1 in Minnesota, with second-year pass-catcher Jordan Addison in the No. 2 role following an impressive rookie campaign. Nailor will be competing with Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield for the No. 3 role. He struggled with injuries in 2023 and into this offseason, and he missed mandatory minicamp with the flu. But Nailor has proven to be a slippery target and has taken a total of 160 snaps and run routes on 72 of them in his two seasons. He's caught 12 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown but could become more interesting as a waiver-wire pickup if one of Jefferson or Addison miss time.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor (illness) was absent from practice this week due to an illness, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic. It's unfortunate timing since the 25-year-old impressed in OTAs earlier this offseason, but absences have been a common theme. The 2022 sixth-round pick was limited to just six games last season with lower-body injuries and a concussion. Through his first 21 NFL games, he has hauled in just 12 passes for 208 yards and one touchdown. It'd be a surprise if he's on the fantasy football radar this year, as he's firmly behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison on the depth chart. He'll have to beat out Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield to start in three-wide sets, and even if he does, he'll have limited upside in an offense led by rookie J.J. McCarthy or veteran Sam Darnold.
