This is a 12-team, 3 Division Best Ball scoring league with transactions.
Best Ball scoring means that you will not set lineups. The website will take your highest scoring players from your roster and automatically put them into our lineup settings.
Schedule:
The regular season is weeks 1-14. We play doubleheaders every week. You play your division opponents 4 times a season and your non-division opponents twice a season for a total of 28 games.
Standings: Divisions and wild card spots are ranked by most Victory Points, followed by most points scored.
(2 Victory Points per win, 2 Victory points for top 4 score of the week, 1 Victory Point if you score between 5th and 8th, zero Victory Points for the bottom 4 teams of the week.
Since we play doubleheaders, you can get anywhere from 0 Victory Points all the way up to 6 VPs per week.
Tie-breakers are most points scored, then least points against, and then head to head. If another tie-breaker is needed, then for division, the next tiebreaker is division record. If still tied, then the final tie-breaker is a coin flip. If for a wild-card spot, then the division record does not apply and we go to a coin flip. In my 25 years of being a Commissioner, we have never needed to go past most points scored, but the process is there is needed by some miracle.
Playoff Structure:
6 teams qualify. Three division winners plus 3 wildcards.
The division winners are based on Victory Points.
The first 2 wildcard teams are based on Victory Points.
The third wildcard will be based on the highest scoring team among the rest of the 7 teams.
Playoff Schedule:
Week 15:
The top 2 Division Winners (most VPs) get a bye in week 15. Team 3 plays Team 6. Team 4 plays Team 5.
The other Division winner (non-bye) is seed 3. The 2 wildcards by VPs are seeds 4 and 5. The wildcard team by most points scored is seed 6.
Week 16:
Team 1 (Division winner with the most VPs) plays the lowest seed that advanced from week 15.
Team 2 (Division winner with the second most VPs) plays the highest seed that advanced from week 15.
Week 17:
The two winners from week 16 advance to the Fantasy Bowl for the Championship.
The two losers from week 16 play in the Consolation Bowl for third place.
Roster size = 21 players. 3 IR spots
Starting lineups = 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 3 Flex players (RB/WR/TE), 1 K, 1 Defense. Kickers are team kickers. e.g. You draft the KC kicker, not Butker.
Scoring:
Passing: 4 points per td, 1 point for every 25 passing (0.04 per yard), -1 for an INT, -1 for a fumble
Rushing: 6 points per td, 1 point for every 10 rushing yards (.01 per yard), - 1 for a fumble
Receiving: 6 points per td, 1 point for every 10 rushing yards (.01 per yard), - 1 for a fumble . 1 point per reception for RBs and WRs, 1.5 points per reception for TEs
Going for 2 after a touchdown: 2 points for passes, rushes, and receptions.
Kicking:1 point for a PAT. Field goals: 0.1 points per yard. e.g. 54 yard fg = 5.4 points
Defense:
TDs: 6 pts Safeties: 4 points, Sacks, INTs, Fumble recoveries = 2 points. Blocked punt or fg =2 pts. Blocked PAT = 1 pt. A return on an extra point =2 pts.
10 points for a shutout. 5 points for 1-10 points allowed. 2 points for 11-20 points allowed. 0 points for 21-30 points allowed. -2 points for 31-40 points allowed. -5 pts for 41-60 points allowed. -10 points for more than 61 points allowed.
TRANSACTIONS
Waiver Wire
Each team starts out with $1,000 FAAB (blind bid money). The waiver wire will run on Wed at 6pm CST. Any player dropped during the regular season is available immediately.
Free Agency begins at 10pm CST on Wednesday all the way until the start of the last game of the week. A player may not be dropped once his game begins.
Transactions Limit: You are allowed to make up to 10 moves per week (waiver wire plus free agent transactions). The first week will allow unlimited moves.
IR Spots
We will have three NFL IR spots in addition to our 21 player roster.
Players have to be on the official NFL IR list to qualify for our IR. That means that they are out for at least 4 games. There is no more interpretation for events not on the official IR such as Covid, out for the week, out for non-injury reasons, etc. None of those qualify anymore.
Technically the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list is different from the NFL IR,but RT Sports includes players on the PUP as NFL IR. So for our purposes, the PUP will be the same as the NFL IR>
You can place a player on your IR whenever RT Sports designates that player to be on the NFL IR. I will not intervene unless RT is incorrect after they process daily changes to player status.
Only one new rule change for this 2024. In the past, if you had a player return from the IR and you forgot to add him back to the active roster before the start of his game, then that player had to be released. It's a pain in the ass for late weekend games like Sunday and Monday night.
Starting this year, if the player comes off the IR before our first waiver wire (Wed at 6pm CST), then you have to add him back to your active roster. If he gets activated after the ww runs and remains on your IR, then you won't have to drop him if activated that week. However, he must get dropped by the following week's waiver wire
TRADE DEADLINE
The trade deadline is Saturday at 11pm for each individual week. The season trade deadline is the start of the first game of week 11.
Playoff Waiver Wire and Free Agency
FAAB will carry over from the regular season. The waiver wire will run once on Wednesday at 6pm CST on Thursday. Free agency begins Wednesday at 10pm CST.
Only the 6 playoff teams can make transactions in the playoffs. Unlike Yahoo leagues, there is no playing for 7th-12th place for the non-playoff teams. The non-playoff teams have their rosters locked at the end of the regular season.
