The 2023 Hotel Hell Talent Draft is Saturday, August 26 at 8:00 am. It will take place at a location that has yet to be determined. (The 2024 Draft is Saturday, August 24th. Get your calendar cleared. It will not be moved).
Just wanted to clarify a few things for everyone.
· You must start each of these every week:
o 1 QB
o 2 RB
o 2 WR
o 1 TE
o 1 K
o 1 DEF/ST
o 1 C
o Your lineup will be invalid if you do not start the correct number of people in each position and you will not get any points for your team.
The "Don't be a Dick" Rule - during the free add/drop time each week, there isn't a way to stop someone from picking up a player and immediately dropping them, which protects them until the next waiver wire and makes it so nobody else can pick that player that week. If this happens, please contact me and I will give you whatever player you should have been able to pick up. The offending team will be penalized at the commissioner's discretion. This rule shouldn't even need to be written down, but here it is.
· We play a 14-week regular season.
o There will be 4 divisions
o You will play each team in your division twice (6 games)
o You will play each team in the other division of your conference (conference 1: north, south; conference 2: east,
west) once (4 games)
o You will play the corresponding team in the other conference once (2 games) e.g. team #1 in the north division will
play team #1 in the east and west divisions.
o You will play 2 games against random teams that you have not yet played in the other conference. (2 games)
· Playoffs
o The top three teams in each conference will make the playoffs. (2 division winners and 1 wild card team)
o The team with the best record in each conference will get a bye in week 14. The other 2 teams that made the
playoffs will play each other.
o The winners from week 14 will play the for the conference championship in week 15.
o Our Super Bowl will be in week 16 with the champions of each conference going against each other.
· Toilet Bowl
o The teams with the four best records that do not qualify for the Playoffs will compete for the Toilet Bowl*
o The format will be just like the regular playoffs with no conference crossover until the Toilet Bowl.
* Only one team will not make it into either the Playoffs or the Toilet Bowl playoffs.
· Here is a rough estimate of the payouts at the end of the season:
First Place - $1,000 (43.57%)
Second Place - $300 (13.07%)
Third/Fourth Places - $150 (6.25%)
Fifth/Sixth Places - $100 (4.36%)
Toilet Bowl Champ - $100 (4.36%)
Pick'em Champ - $100 (4.36%)
Most Points - $100 (4.36%)
Weekly High Score - $195 (8.50%) - $15/week
Trophy / Website - $115
· Don’t forget to pick the winners of the NFL games each week.
· The trade deadline will be at the start of the 1 pm games in week 11.
