Recently, Viks running back Aaron Jones told Kay Adams that McCarthy's IQ is up there with Aaron Rodgers. This is noteworthy given the fact that Jones spent his first seven seasons in Green Bay alongside Rodgers. McCarthy didn't see the field at all last season while recovering from a knee injury. A year later, McCarthy is the unquestioned starter heading into Week 1. The 22-year-old has a big challenge ahead of him, but apparently is earning the respect of his teammates before taking any live game snaps.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman appears to be making a good impression on his team early in camp. Recently, Bills' tackle Dion Dawkins commented about Coleman and said he believes Coleman is going to be a special player. Coleman is coming off a rookie season where he hauled in 29 receptions for 556 receiving yards with four touchdowns across 13 games. Now, Coleman figures to take a bigger step forward in 2025. Bills' quarterback Josh Allen recently said that Coleman is having a really good camp. It sounds like the organization expects the 22-year-old to make big strides on offense this upcoming season.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison (hand) was forced to make an early exit from Wednesday's practice. Addison appeared to have suffered a hand or arm injury that resulted in him missing the rest of practice. The good news is that Addison is reportedly fine and didn't suffer any notable injuries from this incident. This is great news for the Vikings who are already battling multiple injuries at wideout. Addison is expected to miss the first three games of the regular season due to a suspension. He should be ready to go for Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Kansas City Chiefs have traded wide receiver Skyy Moore and a future seventh-round pick to the San Fransciso 49ers in exchange for a future sixth-round pick. The 49ers have been decimated by injuries with Brandon Aiyuk (ACL), Jauan Jennings (calf), and Jacob Cowing (leg) sidelined. At the same time, Demarcus Robinson is suspended for three games. Moore was limited to six games last season due to an abdominal injury and did not catch a pass on three targets. The 24-year-old was drafted in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft but never lived up to the hype. He will get a fresh start in San Francisco, where he will look to carve out a role in an explosive offense. Moore isn't on the fantasy radar in redraft leagues, but is worth a stash in dynasty with the move to San Francisco.

The New Orleans Saints have acquired wide receiver Devaughn Vele from the Denver Broncos for a 2026 fourth-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round selection. Vele was a seventh-rounder in 2024 who exceeded expectations as a rookie, catching 41 of 55 targets for 475 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games. However, the former Utah standout's role in the Denver offense diminished late in the season as Marvin Mims Jr. started receiving more targets. With Mims, Courtland Sutton, and Troy Franklin all returning and rookie third-rounder Pat Bryant coming in this year, the Broncos have decided to move on from Vele for a solid return on investment. Going from Bo Nix to either Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shough will be a major downgrade at quarterback for Vele, but he could be a bigger part of a Saints offense that doesn't have much at receiver after Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Brandin Cooks.

Los Angeles Rams rookie running back Jarquez Hunter has an important fan in offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur. "The more opportunities he gets, the better it's going to be," LaFleur said of the fourth-round pick from Auburn on Wednesday. LaFleur got Hunter heavily involved over the Rams' first two preseason games, as the 5-foot-9, 204-pounder combined for 96 yards on 26 carries in those contests. The Rams have an established No. 1 running back in Kyren Williams, who signed a three-year, $33 million contract extension earlier this month, and Blake Corum is listed ahead of Hunter for the backup job on the team's unofficial depth chart. However, Corum didn't do much during a touchdown-less rookie campaign (207 yards on 58 carries, seven catches for 58 yards), so Hunter could overtake him for the No. 2 job this year if he continues to impress.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jermaine Burton (undisclosed) is making progress in his recovery from an undisclosed injury and is considered day-to-day, head coach Zac Taylor said Tuesday. Burton suffered the injury during the Bengals' preseason-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Aug. 7 and didn't play in their win over the Washington Commanders on Monday. The Bengals used the 80th overall pick in the 2024 draft on Burton, but the move hasn't panned out thus far. Burton had some off-the-field issues as a rookie and caught a meager four passes on 14 targets in 14 games. The 24-year-old probably won't be anything more than the Bengals' No. 4 receiver in 2025 with stars Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins locked into the top two spots and Andrei Iosivas coming off a solid second season.

The NFL has issued San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Demarcus Robinson a three-game suspension to start the season, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports. The punishment comes as a result of a DUI charge Robinson received last November while he was a member of the Los Angeles Rams. After tallying 31 catches and setting career highs in yards (505) and touchdowns (seven) last season, Robinson joined the 49ers on a two-year, $9.5 million contract in free agency. While the 30-year-old's suspension doesn't come as a surprise, it's nonetheless another blow to a Niners receiving corps dealing with plenty of adversity going into the season. Brandon Aiyuk (knee), Jauan Jennings (calf), Jordan Watkins (ankle), and Jacob Cowing (lower body) are all banged up at the moment. Aiyuk is likely to start 2025 on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Between his injury and Robinson's suspension, the 49ers will be down at least two key receivers when they open their season against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 7.

The Washington Commanders excused running back Brian Robinson Jr. from practice on Wednesday as questions centering on his future persist. Head coach Dan Quinn said the Commanders are hoping to have a resolution soon on Robinson, whose tenure with the team appears likely to end via trade or release. In his third season in 2024, the 29-year-old carried the ball 187 times and set career highs in rushing yards (799) and touchdowns (eight), but he has fallen out of favor heading into 2025. New Orleans Saints quarterbacks Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough will play in the team's preseason finale against the Denver Broncos on Saturday. However, head coach Kellen Moore hasn't revealed which of the two will start the game. Rattler and Shough, who have been battling for the No. 1 job this summer, have each started one exhibition game so far and posted similar results. A second-year man, Ratttler has completed 25 of his 35 attempts for 252 yards, a touchdown, and an interception this preseason. Shough, the 40th overall pick in this year's draft, has gone 24-for-34 for 231 yards with a TD and a pick. Moore hasn't tipped his hand on who will win the job, but reports throughout camp have indicated that Rattler has the edge. Regardless, it's doubtful that either signal-caller will have much fantasy appeal in 2025.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Kenny Pickett (hamstring) will not play in the team's preseason finale on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Pickett suffered a hamstring injury in late July and finally returned to practice in a limited fashion this week. The 27-year-old will end up missing the entire preseason. The Browns named veteran Joe Flacco as their Week 1 starter under center earlier this week, so if Pickett is healthy enough to be cleared for the regular-season opener against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 7, he will most likely be the backup. However, since Pickett has been sidelined for most of camp, it's also possible that one of rookies Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders (oblique) handle backup duties early on. The Browns QB situation is a mess behind Flacco and should be ignored by fantasy managers.

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that wide receiver Cedric Tillman (thumb) is dealing with a thumb injury. Stefanski said Tillman's injury is not serious, so he should be in play to suit up for Week 1 of the regular seaon on Sunday, Sept. 7, versus the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals. The 25-year-old was held out of the second preseason game last weekend as a precaution. When healthy, Tillman is expected to serve as the No. 2 wideout behind Jerry Jeudy, although it's not expected to be a fruitful fantasy role with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco running the offense. Behind Tillman, Jamari Thash, Diontae Johnson, DeAndre Carter, Kaden Davis and rookie Isaiah Bond are competing for depth roles. Tillman played in only 11 games in 2024 due to injury and finished with 29 receptions, 339 yards and three touchdowns in his second year in the NFL.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jacob Cowing (lower body) did not practice on Wednesday after he appeared to suffer a lower-body injury in Tuesday's practice, per Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area. It's unclear how serious Cowing's injury is at this time. Injuries have been the story of Cowing's career in the NFL to this point. The 24-year-old suffered a hamstring injury in the first training camp practice at the end of July that kept him out for almost three weeks. Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Tre' Harris (undisclosed) went into the team's facilities with trainers after individual workouts at Wednesday's training camp practice, according to Kris Rhim of ESPN. The 23-year-old Addison will already miss the first three games of the 2025 season due to a suspension, but now he could also be rehabbing an injury early in the year. Minnesota's receiver depth is being tested heading into the season, which has them keeping an eye on the receiver trade market. Cincinnati Bengals tight ends Mike Gesicki (hamstring) and Drew Sample (undisclosed) are considered day-to-day and could play in the team's preseason finale on Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts if they are needed, according to The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr. We'd be surprised if Gesicki actually played this weekend, but he should be just fine for the Week 1 regular-season opener against the division-rival Cleveland Browns in the first week of September. Noah Fant could take some looks away from Gesicki in two-tight end sets in 2025, but the full expectation is that Gesicki will remain the team's No. 1 pass-catcher at the position. The 29-year-old had 65 catches for 665 yards and only two touchdowns in 17 games in his first year in Cincinnati and should be viewed as a low-end TE2 target in an offense with a elite 1-2 receiver punch in Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said that the team's starters will not play in the preseason finale on Saturday against the Indianapolis Colts. Burrow and the high-octane Bengals offense looked just fine in the first two preseason games, with Burrow throwing for three touchdowns on five of his drives. The offense got off to a slow start early last year before finally clicking and being one of the most dangerous units by year's end. It looks like the 28-year-old signal-caller and Cincy's offense could already be in midseason form, which is a scary proposition for opposing defenses. Burrow will be a must-start QB1 in Week 1 of the regular season versus the division-rival Cleveland Browns. He does not have the rushing upside of Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson, but Burrow is just a tier below and is ranked at RotoBaller as the QB5 going into 2025.

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (foot) left training camp practice on Wednesday because his foot was stepped on, according to a team spokesman. Jackson is expected to be fine. It was initially reported that Jackson appeared to injure his hand/wrist. The two-time MVP will be ready for the start of the regular season and will be one of the first signal-callers off the board in fantasy drafts. The 28-year-old took the next step as a passer in 2024, throwing for a career-high 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns and only four interceptions on 474 pass attempts over 17 regular-season starts. He added 915 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground on 139 rushing attempts. The Ravens offense proved last year that both Jackson and running back Derrick Henry can eat on the ground. Jackson is the QB2 in RotoBaller's fantasy rankings.

Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi called tight end Evan Engram an "elite receiver." The Broncos have been searching for an elite pass-catching tight end for a while now, and Engram could be that guy in 2025 in his first year with the team. The 30-year-old former first-rounder by the New York Giants in 2017 out of Mississippi played in only nine games due to a shoulder injury last year, but he had a career-high 963 receiving yards on 114 receptions in a career year for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023. Engram has developed chemistry with second-year quarterback Bo Nix this summer and could be the young signal-caller's No. 2 target behind receiver Courtland Sutton. Not only should Engram see more usage in Denver thi year, but he could also be more of a red-zone target, which has been an issue for his fantasy upside since his rookie season.

Dynasty Analysis: Official terms weren't disclosed but it seems Bagent will receive $10 million in the deal and can earn up to $16 million with incentives. It's a nice sum of money for a player Chicago hopes never plays a down during his contract. Instead, they've clearly secured the backup for Caleb Williams should be be injured or fail to live up to expectations. As for Bagent, he has some value in 2QB leagues but only as a back-end roster stash.
