NFL roundup: Bills send once-perfect Chiefs to loss column

Josh Allen's 26-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-2 with just over two minutes left sealed the Bills' 30-21 win in Orchard Park, N.Y., on Sunday as Buffalo dealt the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season.
Facing the choice of attempting a short field goal or handing the two-time defending Super Bowl champions and quarterback Patrick Mahomes the ball with time to drive downfield for a win, Bills coach Sean McDermott turned the game over to Allen, who first looked to pass, then diced through a Chiefs defense that is among the league's best against the run.
Allen completed 27 of 40 passes for 262 yards and led the Bills (9-2) with 55 rushing yards.
With Buffalo's defense containing Mahomes, Allen bloomed in the fourth quarter. His 12-yard scoring pass to Curtis Samuel with 12:51 left punctuated a 10-play, 83-yard drive that took just over six minutes off the clock and gave the Bills a 23-14 lead.
But Mahomes led the Chiefs 70 yards in 4:58 to trim Buffalo's lead to 23-21 on his second touchdown pass of the day -- a 1-yarder -- to tight end Noah Gray. Mahomes finished with 196 yards, three TDs and two interceptions on 23-of-33 passing for Kansas City (9-1).
Steelers 18, Ravens 16
Chris Boswell kicked six field goals in a game for the third time in his career and Pittsburgh remained in first place in the AFC North with a victory over visiting Baltimore.
Russell Wilson completed 23 of 36 passes for 205 yards and one interception for the Steelers (8-2), who won their fifth straight game. Payton Wilson made a key interception as Pittsburgh increased its division lead to 1 1/2 games over the Ravens (7-4).
Baltimore's Lamar Jackson was just 16-of-33 passing for 207 yards, one touchdown and an interception while dropping to 1-4 all-time as a starter against the Steelers. Derrick Henry rushed for 65 yards and a score on 13 carries and Odafe Oweh had 2 1/2 sacks for the Ravens, who committed three turnovers and lost for just the second time in their past nine games.
Packers 20, Bears 19
Quarterback Jordan Love passed and ran for a touchdown, Karl Brooks blocked a field goal as time expired and visiting Green Bay edged skidding Chicago.
Love scored the go-ahead TD on a 1-yard run with 2:59 to go. Rookie counterpart Caleb Williams drove the Bears downfield on the next possession, positioning them for a would-be game-winning 46-yard field goal. But Brooks blocked Cairo Santos' kick to help Green Bay (7-3) preserve the victory.
Love went 13-for-17 passing for 261 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Josh Jacobs had 134 yards of total offense and a rushing touchdown, and Christian Watson had a career-high 150 yards on four catches. Williams was 23-for-31 passing for 231 yards and added 70 yards on nine carries as Chicago (4-6) lost its 11th straight game in the all-time series with the Packers.
Lions 52, Jaguars 6
Jared Goff passed for a season-high 412 yards and four touchdowns as host Detroit stretched its winning streak to eight games -- its longest in the Super Bowl era -- by pounding Jacksonville.
Detroit's Amon-Ra St. Brown caught 11 passes for 161 yards and scored two touchdowns, while David Montgomery rushed for 75 yards and two scores. Goff bounced back from a five-interception outing against the Houston Texans as the Lions (9-1) scored touchdowns on their first seven possessions en route to their most lopsided win in franchise history.
Mac Jones passed for 138 yards and was intercepted once as the Jaguars (2-9) lost their fourth straight game. Jones got the start again after No. 1 quarterback Trevor Lawrence missed his second straight game with a shoulder injury.
Dolphins 34, Raiders 19
Jonnu Smith caught six passes for a career-high 101 yards and two touchdowns and Tua Tagovailoa threw three touchdown passes to lead Miami over Las Vegas in Miami Gardens, Fla.
Tagovailoa completed 28 of 36 passes for 288 yards and no interceptions for the Dolphins (4-6). He tossed a 57-yard touchdown to a wide-open Smith over the middle with 3:19 remaining in the fourth quarter to make it 31-19, and Jalen Ramsey sealed the outcome by intercepting Gardner Minshew on the first play of the Raiders' ensuing series.
Minshew completed 30 of 43 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns as the Raiders (2-8) dropped their sixth game in a row. His favorite target was rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who gave Miami's defense fits by catching 13 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown.
Rams 28, Patriots 22
Matthew Stafford threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns as Los Angeles held off New England in Foxborough, Mass.
Puka Nacua hauled in seven catches for 123 yards and a score for the Rams (5-5), while Cooper Kupp finished with six catches for 106 yards and two TDs. Drake Maye finished with 282 yards, two TDs and a pick on 30-of-40 passing for the Patriots (3-8).
Los Angeles carried a 28-13 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Patriots began to rally with Maye's 4-yard touchdown pass to left tackle Vederian Lowe and Joey Slye's 42-yard field goal. Slye had his extra point blocked following Lowe's catch in the end zone. New England ended up getting the ball back with 2:14 left in the game, but Maye was picked off by Kamren Kinchens with 1:55 remaining to kill the comeback bid.
Saints 35, Browns 14
Taysom Hill rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns, Derek Carr threw two touchdown passes and host New Orleans defeated Cleveland.
Carr passed for 248 yards and Hill added a career-high eight receptions for 50 yards as the Saints (4-7) improved to 2-0 under interim coach Darren Rizzi.
For the Browns (2-8), former Saints quarterback Jameis Winston passed for 395 yards and two touchdowns, one of which went to Jerry Jeudy, who finished with 142 yards on six catches.
Colts 28, Jets 27
Anthony Richardson threw for 272 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, including a game-winning 4-yard scoring run with 46 seconds left, as Indianapolis rallied to beat New York in East Rutherford, N.J.
Richardson completed 20 of 30 passes in his return to the starting lineup after being benched for two weeks in favor of Joe Flacco. The Colts (5-6) finished with 332 total yards of offense and controlled the ball for more than 34 minutes.
Aaron Rodgers hit 22 of 29 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns for the Jets, finding Kenny Yeboah for an 11-yard scoring strike less than two minutes into the fourth quarter for a 24-16 advantage. But Rodgers couldn't do anything on New York's last drive, taking two sacks. The Jets fell to 3-8 with their seventh loss in eight games despite 121 total yards from scrimmage by Breece Hall, who scored two touchdowns.
Vikings 23, Titans 13
Sam Darnold completed 20 of 32 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another score as Minnesota posted a win over Tennessee in Nashville.
Jordan Addison and Cam Akers had one touchdown catch apiece for the Vikings (8-2), who won their third game in a row and remained one game behind Detroit in the NFC North.
Will Levis completed 17 of 31 passes for 295 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Titans (2-8), who have lost five of their past six games. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine had a 98-yard touchdown catch.
Broncos 38, Falcons 6
Rookie quarterback Bo Nix completed 28 of 33 passes for career highs of 307 yards and four touchdowns as Denver dominated visiting Atlanta.
Javonte Williams ran for 59 yards and a score while Courtland Sutton caught seven passes for 78 yards for the Broncos (6-5), who snapped a two-game losing streak. Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Marvin Mims Jr., Troy Franklin and Nate Adkins each hauled in a touchdown pass.
The Falcons (6-5) were held without a touchdown for the first time this season and lost their second straight game. Kirk Cousins completed 18 of 27 passes for 173 yards and threw one interception. Drake London had three catches for 61 yards as Atlanta was outgained 400-226.
Seahawks 20, 49ers 17
Geno Smith scored on a 13-yard scramble with 12 seconds remaining as Seattle upended San Francisco in Santa Clara, Calif.
The Seahawks (5-5) snapped a two-game skid and won for just the second time in their past seven games. Smith was 25-of-32 passing for 221 yards and one interception. Jaxon Smith-Njigba made 10 catches for 110 yards.
Brock Purdy was 21-of-28 passing for 159 yards, throwing for one touchdown and rushing for another for the 49ers (5-5). Purdy was picked off once. Christian McCaffrey, playing in his second game of the season after recovering from Achilles tendinitis, finished with 106 total yards of offense (79 rushing, 27 receiving).

Bender's Starts/Sits: Week 11
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 30 of his 40 pass attempts for 282 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception during Sunday's Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He also rushed for 27 yards, took three sacks, and lost a fumble. Maye still had some blemishes in his performance, including the two turnovers, but will ultimately finish as a fringe top-12 fantasy quarterback for the third time in his young NFL career. Managers should continue to view him as a solid fantasy option for Week 12 against the Miami Dolphins.

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne caught all five of his targets for 70 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Bourne did not play a single snap in Week 10 as head coach Jerod Mayo attempted to get more opportunities for some of the younger players. This week, Bourne was held to a modest 47.6 percent of offensive snaps but made good use of his opportunities, tallying 18 fantasy points in PPR leagues. The veteran pass-catcher will continue to compete for touches with DeMario Douglas, Hunter Henry, and Kayshon Boutte going forward, but he's still a low-end WR4 with significant upside. Bourne and the Patriots face the Miami Dolphins in Week 12.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy had a better day in fantasy than in real life during a home 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Purdy hit pregame projections by completing 21 of 28 attempts for 159 yards and a touchdown passing while adding five scrambles for 40 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The three-yard scoring pass to wideout Jauan Jennings came in the middle of the fourth quarter to give San Francisco the lead, which was relinquished two drives later with twelve seconds left in regulation. Seattle's reeling defense put up more of a fight than expected and the Niners' offense stalled multiple times by committing their fair share of the team's nine accepted penalties. Purdy's rushing game has been a pleasant surprise, though. His touchdown scramble was his fourth in as many games. He is now in a four-way tie for the fourth-most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback and is ranked 12th in QB rushing yards per game, sandwiched between Denver's Bo Nix and the Giants' Daniel Jones. Purdy will look to get his team back above .500 in Week 12 against the Packers in Green Bay.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine caught two of six targets for 117 yards and a touchdown vs. the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. The Indiana product was almost invisible until the 3rd quarter, when Will Levis hit him on the right sideline for a 98-yard score, the longest in his career. Westbrook-Ikine continues to prove his reliability as a second target for quarterback Will Levis, with five touchdowns in his last six games. While he only corralled two passes, Westbrook-Ikine made the most of his opportunities, and tied for the team lead in targets. He will be a low-end flex next week in a tough matchup with divisional rival Houston.

According to general manager Ryan Poles, Chicago Bears defensive back Jaquan Brisker (concussion) could miss the remainder of the 2024 season. ESPN's Courtney Cronin reported the news. The 25-year-old had been on the shelf since suffering a concussion in the team's Week 5 victory over the Carolina Panthers and missed the ensuing four contests before being placed on injured reserve this past Saturday. It's unfortunate news for the Penn State product -- and Chicago -- as he was reportedly not "making the progress we wanted," per Poles. "We're going to slow this down and take time and allow him to take his time to come back. Would love to see him back this year, but we're just going to take it one week at a time." It's not an encouraging statement from the Bears' GM regarding the former second-round pick, but the player's health and safety are paramount.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley caught four of six targets for 58 yards in a 10-point loss to Minnesota on Sunday. It was the first time in three weeks that Ridley didn't pull through for fantasy managers, as he had a modest output with only 7.8 half-PPR points. The former Falcon drew consistent double-teams, which allowed his teammate Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to break free for a few big plays, but the veteran was not able to continue his streak of double-digit fantasy points in Week 11. Ridley still tied for the team lead in targets with six, but he may have a tough time producing next week in a division-rivalry matchup with the Houston Texans.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. returned to action after a one-week absence and led his team in targets on Sunday with eight, hauling in five of them for 46 yards in a 28-27 nailbiter win over the Jets in Week 11. It was only the third time this season in 10 games played that the fifth-year pro eclipsed the 40-yard plateau and only the third time he's caught five or more passes. Still, with Anthony Richardson looking like a competent quarterback on Sunday, there may be better days ahead for the 27-year-old. Look for the 6-foot-4 wideout to be a fringe WR3 in Week 12, especially with six teams on bye.

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard rushed nine times for 15 yards in a 23-13 to Minnesota this weekend. The former Cowboy added two receptions for 14 yards in the defeat. Pollard still led the Titans in carries, but was turned away all game long as the stout Minnesota run defense lived up to their billing, only allowing 33 total yards on the afternoon. Tyjae Spears only saw five opportunities in the game and was evaluated for a head injury post-game, so Pollard will remain the bell cow in this backfield, especially if Spears can't go next week. Tennessee struggled to move the ball most of the game, which did not benefit Pollard, but he should find more success against the Houston Texans next week.

According to the NFL's Ian Rapoport, the knee injury that forced Green Bay Packers defensive back Jaire Alexander (knee) from Sunday's 20-19 win over the Chicago Bears is not considered to be serious. The 27-year-old was knocked out of the team's victory in the second half and did not return. Per Rapoport, it's a "continuation of what he's been working through," and sources said he'll be ok. Alexander was a limited participant in practice all week leading up to Sunday's outing, and he'll likely be as such ahead of Green Bay's Week 12 home tilt against the San Francisco 49ers. Fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on his status, but it appears he shouldn't miss any time as of now.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis completed 17-of-31 passes for 295 yards, one touchdown. and one pick in a 23-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The young signal caller also rushed seven times for 18 yards. Levis played admirably despite matching up against a tough defense, throwing for a season-high in yardage, which was ballooned by a 98-yard touchdown to Nick Westbrook-Ikine on the right sideline. The Kentucky product put up his second highest total of the season with 15.6 fantasy points, and looks like a serviceable 2QB option heading into next week against the Houston Texans.

New York Jets kicker Anders Carlson made both of his field goals and added three extra points in a 28-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. Carlson was signed from the practice squad earlier in the week after the Kansas City Chiefs signed away Spencer Shrader to be their kicker while Harrison Butker (knee) is sidelined. That left Carlson as the Jets' fourth kicker in as many games. He looked good in his New York debut, hitting field goals from 58 and 35 yards away. Carlson and the Jets head into their bye in Week 12 before they take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13.

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey (shoulder) was forced from Sunday's contest against the Cincinnati Bengals and is questionable to return. The rookie wideout caught a 20-yard pass on the Chargers' second drive of the game but was pushed out of bounds hard and was immediately seen writhing in pain after the play. Before his exit, he caught his sole target. If McConkey does not return, wide receivers Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer and tight end Will Dissly are projected to benefit the most from his absence in LA's passing attack.

New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams caught six of his seven targets for 72 yards in a 28-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. Adams led the Jets in receiving yards while finishing behind only Breece Hall in catches in the heartbreaking loss to the Colts. The veteran wideout has been trending up in recent weeks as he has caught at least six passes in three straight games while 31 targets over that span. Settling in as an upside WR2 in fantasy with his new team, Adams will be on bye in Week 12 before he takes on the Seattle Seahawks at home in Week 13.

Wilson led the Jets in targets but he managed just a meager 4.5 yards per catch in the close loss to Indy. Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey (shoulder) has returned to the team's outing against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football. McConkey got shaken up a bit after hauling in a 20-yard pass, but after a brief exit to the locker room, he was able to return to the field. He should slot back in as a top-two option for quarterback Justin Herbert.

Per beat writer Tracy Sandler of FGSN, San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa (obliques) is now having trouble with both obliques. Bosa was forced from the team's 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 11 after injuring his oblique. The 27-year-old came into Sunday's home tilt after missing practice due to a hip/oblique ailment and reported overcompensating on his second sack of quarterback Geno Smith and injuring the other one. Unfortunately, the superstar pass-rusher noted that he's concerned he'll have to miss some time but said, "We're going to see." San Francisco had not let up a touchdown to their division rivals on Sunday until the former first-round pick exited the game. He will almost certainly miss practice again this week, but the 49ers will hope to have him back for their Week 12 road matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates delivered another strong performance in Week 11, converting his lone field goal attempt and all seven extra points in a 52-6 win over the Jaguars. Bates remains perfect on field goals this season, going 15-for-15, while leading the league with 39 extra points on 40 attempts. His consistent production continues to shine as part of Detroit's high-powered offense. Heading into Sunday night, Bates ranks as the K3 for the week and has scored 12 or more fantasy points in four of his last six games. He remains a reliable fantasy starter heading into Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 22 of his 29 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns while adding a seven-yard run in a 28-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. Rodgers tossed touchdown passes to Breece Hall and Kenny Yeboah in the contest but he was held under 200 passing yards for the second straight game. It has been tough going for Rodgers and the Jets this season as he will take 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions into the bye week. He does not need to be rostered in single quarterback leagues moving forward.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs reeled in all five of his targets for 84 yards and a touchdown in a 28-27 win over the Jets on Sunday. With Anthony Richardson showing a bit more accuracy this week, Downs maintained his status as the Colts' most reliable pass catcher, leading Indy's receiving corps in yardage while scoring the only offensive touchdown outside of Richardson's two rushing scores. It was the third straight game with at least five catches for the 23-year-old and sixth time in nine games. The former third-round draft pick will face off with the Lions in Week 12, a defense that is easier to throw on than run against, and could be playing from behind all day which should afford him plenty of opportunities again.

New York Jets running back Breece Hall carried the ball 16 times for 78 yards and a touchdown while catching all seven of his targets for 43 yards and another score in a 28-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. Hall was a bright spot for the Jets in the heartbreaking loss as he broke a three-game scoreless streak with his pair of touchdowns. The veteran running back heads into his Week 12 bye with six all-around touchdowns. His next game will be Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks at home.
