Falcons WR Drake London (hip) ruled out vs. Cowboys

Sun Nov 3 3:29pm ET
Field Level Media

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London made an acrobatic touchdown catch in the first quarter on Sunday against the visiting Dallas Cowboys, but injured his hip on the play and was ruled out at halftime.

On the touchdown grab from Kirk Cousins with 5:23 left in the opening quarter, London went up for the ball in coverage and landed hard on the turf. He didn't return to the game after that catch.

The 23-year-old third-year receiver finished with two receptions for 27 yards for Atlanta, which entered Sunday with four wins in its last five games.

The TD was the sixth of the year for London, matching his combined total from the 2022 and 2023 seasons. This season, he has 50 catches for 552 yards.

Atlanta selected London with the No. 8 pick in the 2022 draft.

Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 9

Player Notes
Aidan Hutchinson Nov 3 2:30pm CT
Aidan Hutchinson

The Detroit Lions are expected to acquire defensive end Za'Darius Smith from the Cleveland Browns within the next day or two, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio. The 32-year-old continues to be an impact defender, registering 24 tackles and 5.5 sacks through eight-plus games this season. Smith is currently playing in the Browns' game against the Los Angeles Chargers, but Florio speculates that a trade will happen either Sunday evening or Monday. Of course, there is some urgency for both teams given that the NFL's trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 p.m. The two-win Browns are willing to trade some players away, and the Lions, who lost Aidan Hutchinson (leg) for the season, represent an intriguing landing spot for Smith.

Cooper Rush

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons. Prescott was spotted getting his hand checked out on the sideline, but the official word from the Cowboys is that he's done due to a hamstring issue. Cooper Rush has entered in his place. Prescott finished Sunday's game having completed 18 of 24 passes for 133 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions. He also took three sacks and rushed for 30 yards. The Cowboys will hope that Prescott can get healthy in time for next Sunday's crucial divisional game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Gardner Minshew II

Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs (ankle) and left tackle Kolton Miller (ankle) have been ruled out for the remainder of Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Both players were initially listed as questionable upon exiting but eventually downgraded to out. Hobbs had registered five tackles prior to his departure, bringing his season total to 43. Darnay Holmes and Decamerion Richardson should earn more defensive snaps for the duration of Hobbs' absence. On the offensive side of the ball, Miller's departure is bad news for Gardner Minshew II and Alexander Mattison. He had not previously missed a snap this season. Miller was initially replaced by Andrus Peat at left tackle, but then Peat exited with an ankle injury of his own, leaving Thayer Munford and Delmar Glaze as the Raiders' only healthy tackles.

Montez Sweat Nov 3 2:20pm CT
Montez Sweat

Chicago Bears defensive lineman Montez Sweat (shin) is inactive for their Week 9 contest against the Arizona Cardinals. Sweat has been a key piece to the team's pass rush while he has amassed 3.5 sacks, 15 combined tackles (10 solo), and five tackles for loss. Darrell Taylor is the next defensive end on the depth chart, so he'll likely rotate in with some other linemen for this game.

Quandre Diggs Nov 3 2:20pm CT
Quandre Diggs

Tennessee Titans free safety Quandre Diggs (foot) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. At the time of his departure, he had registered three tackles, bringing his season total to 42. Look for Mike Brown to step in as the Titans' primary free safety until Diggs is able to return.

Josh Jacobs Nov 3 2:10pm CT
Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) is officially active for Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable after logging a pair of limited practices prior to this weekend. The 26-year-old has been quite productive in his first season with Green Bay, tallying 667 rushing yards, 115 receiving yards, and four touchdowns while ranking as the overall RB11. He's worth deploying as a low-end RB1 this week, especially with rainy conditions expected to necessitate a run-heavy gameplan for both Green Bay and Detroit.

Jordan Love Nov 3 2:10pm CT
Jordan Love

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) is officially active for Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable after logging two consecutive limited practices. While Love is going to start, the Packers are expected to be cautious with him, which means they'll monitor his pain levels and performance throughout the duration of Sunday's game. In the event that he can't finish the game, Malik Willis would be next in line at the quarterback position. Between his injury, a tough matchup against the Lions, and some rainy conditions in Green Bay, Love drops to the QB2 tier in fantasy football this week.

Khalil Herbert Nov 3 2:10pm CT
Khalil Herbert

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert appeared on the inactive report ahead of the team's Week 9 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. The Bears decided to roll with D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, and Travis Homer as their three backs for the week. Herbert is now falling out of the lineup and shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar.

Puka Nacua Nov 3 2:10pm CT
Puka Nacua

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) is officially active for Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. Nacua had been listed as questionable, and there were real concerns about his availability after he missed practice on Friday. In the end, though, he'll suit up for Sunday's divisional battle. Nacua is coming off a seven-catch, 106-yard performance and should continue to be treated as a low-end fantasy WR1 versus Seattle.

Gabriel Davis Nov 3 2:10pm CT
Gabriel Davis

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder) was already considered a longshot to play in Week 9, but he's been confirmed as inactive for their late afternoon contest. Brian Thomas Jr. (chest), on the other hand, was ruled as active and should see plenty of targets with Christian Kirk (collarbone) out for the rest of the season. Parker Washington will also see more opportunities as the second receiver in this game.

Jordan Whittington Nov 3 2:10pm CT
Jordan Whittington

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Jordan Whittington (shoulder) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. He had been listed as questionable after logging limited practices ahead of Week 9. The 24-year-old has been dealing with an injury ever since Week 7, and it's going to result in him being sidelined for at least one more game. Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua continue to be the only must-start fantasy receivers within the Rams' offense.

Brian Thomas Jr. Nov 3 2:00pm CT
Brian Thomas Jr.

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) was expected to play in Week 9 and the inactive list has confirmed that he will, in fact, suit up against the Philadelphia Eagles. The rookie pass-catcher has been a big part of this offense and is expected to take on a bit more of the target share with Christian Kirk (collarbone) out for the rest of the year and Gabe Davis (shoulder) ruled out. Thomas even draws a matchup in his favor as the Eagles are in the top 10 in terms of fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers.

Tank Bigsby Nov 3 2:00pm CT
Tank Bigsby

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby (ankle) is officially active for the Week 9 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. His fellow running mate, Travis Etienne Jr. (hamstring), is also active so the two of them should return to a timeshare in this game. With that being said, it could be a tough fantasy week for the backfield against an Eagles defense that allows the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing backfields.

Eric Stokes Nov 3 2:00pm CT
Eric Stokes

Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) is inactive for Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the wrong direction after missing three consecutive practices. The 27-year-old will now have extra time to get healthy between today's absence and the Packers' Week 10 bye. For now, Eric Stokes and Corey Ballentine should see extra opportunities in the secondary.

Drake London Nov 3 1:50pm CT
Drake London

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London (hip) has officially been downgraded to out for the rest of their Week 9 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Darnell Mooney, Ray-Ray McCloud III, and Kyle Pitts will all see added opportunities while KhaDarel Hodge could see some snaps as well. London finishes the game with two catches for 27 yards and one touchdown on two targets. The team will likely perform some tests on his hip following the game and into Monday morning.

Erick All Nov 3 1:50pm CT
Erick All

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Erick All Jr. (knee) has been tagged as doubtful to return to their Week 9 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders. The rookie was enjoying a solid start to their game but had to leave in the first half with a knee injury. If he doesn't return, he'll finish with two receptions for 24 yards on two targets. If All remains out, Mike Gesicki should see an uptick in snaps, while Tanner Hudson will see some more opportunities as well.

From RotoBaller

Travis Etienne Nov 3 1:50pm CT
Travis Etienne

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (hamstring) has been deemed as active ahead of their late afternoon kickoff. The 25-year-old was expected to play in this one, so it's not a complete surprise, but at least he's been confirmed. Tank Bigsby (ankle) has also been ruled as active, so they'll go back to a timeshare in the backfield. It could be tough sledding though as the Philadelphia Eagles are one of the toughest teams against opposing backfields.

Chris Olave Nov 3 1:00pm CT
Chris Olave

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) won't return to Sunday's game against the Panthers. He took a hard hit in the first quarter and was carted off the field, so most had already assumed he wouldn't be back. However, with Olave already suffering a concussion this season, there's a good chance he could miss time moving ahead. Of course, fantasy managers will be anxiously awaiting an update. Fortunately, the wideout was moving all of his extremities. But without Olave in the mix, Juwan Johnson, Cedrick Wilson Jr., and Mason Tipton could see more attention on the receiving end.

Drake London Nov 3 12:50pm CT
Drake London

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London (hip) is questionable to return to Sunday's matchup versus the Dallas Cowboys. The wideout was busy early in Week 9, amassing two catches for 27 yards and a touchdown, finding the end zone off a nine-yard toss from Kirk Cousins. Hopefully, the hip issue won't keep him off the field for the remainder of the contest. But if London doesn't return, Darnell Mooney, Kyle Pitts, and Ray-Ray McCloud III would be in line to see more attention from Cousins.

Chris Olave Nov 3 12:40pm CT
Chris Olave

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (head) exited Sunday's meeting with the Carolina Panthers with what appeared to be a head injury. The wideout took a hard hit in the first quarter and remained down for several minutes before eventually being carted off. It's not an ideal scenario for the team, and it's also not good news for Olave, considering he missed time already this season because of a concussion. While it's too early to speculate, there's a good chance he won't return. If that's the case, he'll finish with one catch for 13 yards. For now, fantasy managers should at least consider Olave as questionable, with Juwan Johnson, Cedrick Wilson Jr., and Mason Tipton in line to see more targets.
