Raiders showing up late to New Orleans due to delayed flight

Sun Dec 29 2:31am ET
Field Level Media

The Las Vegas Raiders had a flight delayed for several hours on Saturday, forcing them to head to New Orleans late for their meeting with the Saints on Sunday.

Las Vegas was hoping to fly out in the morning, but a mechanical issue on its plane prevented it from doing so. Instead, the Raiders had to wait for a second plane, which didn't get out of town until about 10 p.m. ET.

Kickoff for Las Vegas' matchup with New Orleans is at 1 p.m. ET.

Because of the delay, the Raiders had to hold team meetings at their facility instead of the team's hotel.

Las Vegas is 3-12 this season and has already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Player Notes
Davante Adams Dec 29 10:50am CT
Davante Adams

New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams (hip) is officially active for Sunday's Week 17 contest against the Buffalo Bills. He had been listed as questionable after logging a limited practice on Friday. The veteran receiver has been dominant lately, catching 39 passes for 441 yards and five touchdowns over his last four games. He is the overall WR1 in half-PPR leagues during that span, ranking a couple points ahead of Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase. Adams should continue to be treated as a high-end WR1 option against the Bills on Sunday. He's especially intriguing given speculation that Aaron Rodgers may target Adams for his 500th career passing touchdown.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling Dec 29 10:50am CT
Marquez Valdes-Scantling

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling (chest) is officially active for Sunday's contest against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders in Week 17. Valdes-Scantling was listed as questionable on the final injury report on Friday, but he will suit up and could lead the team in targets in a plus matchup with Chris Olave (concussion) staying on Injured Reserve for another week. With MVS active, rookie Mason Tipton will be a healthy scratch. The 30-year-old Valdes-Scantling was not active in the loss to the Green Bay Packers last Monday night. He had a stretch from Weeks 10-13 where he caught seven passes for 232 yards and four touchdowns on 10 targets, but that was never really sustainable for fantasy managers, especially after quarterback Derek Carr broke his hand and gave way to rookie Spencer Rattler. MVS is a boom/bust, desperation flex play in Week 17 in fantasy lineups.

Sauce Gardner Dec 29 10:50am CT
Sauce Gardner

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein (left knee) and cornerback Sauce Gardner (hamstring) are both active for Sunday's Week 17 contest against the Buffalo Bills. Both players had been listed as questionable. Zuerlein returned from injured reserve this week and is set to handle kicking duties for the first time in more than two months. He'll look to improve upon a season stat line that includes a woeful 9-for-15 success rate on field goals. Meanwhile, Gardner's presence will be key as the Jets look to slow down the Bills' dominant offense. He has 46 tackles, one sack, and just one interception through 14 contests this season.

Jordan Mims Dec 29 10:50am CT
Jordan Mims

New Orleans Saints running back Jordan Mims is a healthy scratch for the Week 17 contest against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in New Orleans, even with Alvin Kamara (groin) missing another game. Mims, for lack of better options in the Saints' depleted offense, led the team with five receptions on eight targets for only 16 yards in the Monday night loss to the Green Bay Packers. He added four carries for only 16 yards. The 25-year-old has been used sparingly in his second year in the NFL, carrying the ball only 18 times for 58 yards (3.2 yards per tote) while catching nine of 15 targets for 58 yards in his 10 games played. With Mims inactive, the Saints will roll with second-year back Kendre Miller as their starter in the backfield, with veteran Jamaal Williams backing him up.

Quinnen Williams Dec 29 10:50am CT
Quinnen Williams

New York Jets edge rusher Haason Reddick (neck) and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams (hamstring) are active for Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills. Both players had been listed as questionable. Reddick has been highly disappointing in his first season with the Jets, registering just nine tackles and half a sack through eight games since returning from his holdout. Williams, on the other hand, has been much more productive, anchoring the Jets' defensive line with 35 tackles and six sacks through 14 contests. All in all, the Jets will benefit from having a healthy group of defensive reinforcements available against Buffalo this weekend.

Davante Adams Dec 29 10:43am CT
Davante Adams

New York Jets WR Davante Adams (hip) is officially active for the Week 17 game.

Fantasy Spin: Adams did not do much during practice this week but should see plenty of targets against the Buffalo Bills. He is the main option in the passing game for the Jets and should be a starting option in all leagues.

Tyler Boyd Dec 29 10:40am CT
Tyler Boyd

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tyler Boyd (foot) is active for Sunday's Week 17 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had been listed as questionable and faced an uphill battle to play after missing three consecutive practices, but in the end, he'll be able to suit up. Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will continue to operate as the Titans' top two receivers, with Boyd set to be the No. 3 receiver. This week, he'll be catching passes from Mason Rudolph. Boyd and Rudolph connected for just two completions and 20 yards last Sunday. The 30-year-old receiver should be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues.

Curtis Samuel Dec 29 10:40am CT
Curtis Samuel

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Curtis Samuel (rib) is officially inactive for Sunday's Week 17 contest against the New York Jets. He had been listed as questionable after being limited in practice. The veteran pass-catcher has merely filled a depth role for Buffalo this season, consistently operating behind Khalil Shakir, Amari Cooper, Keon Coleman, and Mack Hollins. Those four receivers will remain Josh Allen's top targets on Sunday afternoon, with Shakir the most intriguing fantasy option of the bunch.

From RotoBaller

Chris Olave Dec 29 10:40am CT
Chris Olave

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) was not activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday and is inactive for the Week 17 game on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. Olave practiced in full from Wednesday through Friday and was deemed questionable to return this weekend, but the Saints are playing things safe and will hold the 24-year-old for another week. Olave, a former first-rounder, hasn't played since suffering his second concussion of the year back in Week 9. The good news for the Saints is that Marquez Valdes-Scantling (chest) is active against the Raiders, so it will be him, Kevin Austin Jr., Dante Pettis and Cedrick Wilson Jr. serving as New Orleans' top wideouts in a great matchup against the three-win Raiders. However, for fantasy purposes, none of the Saints' pass-catchers can be considered very reliable flex plays, even in deeper formats.

Chase Brown Dec 29 10:30am CT
Chase Brown

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown (ankle) underwent an MRI on Sunday morning and has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, according to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. Schultz notes that Brown is "determined to try to play in Cincinnati's must-win Week 18 game against Pittsburgh, but his availability will depend on how he progresses throughout the week." The 24-year-old picked up the injury on a red-zone rush attempt during the fourth quarter of Saturday's win over the Denver Broncos. Brown is a low-end RB1 whenever he's healthy. If he can't suit up next week, Khalil Herbert would step up as the Bengals' starter, ranking as a high-end RB3.

Patrick Taylor Dec 29 10:00am CT
Patrick Taylor

San Francisco 49ers running back Patrick Taylor Jr. is expected to take a backseat to Isaac Guerendo (hamstring, foot) on Monday. Guerendo has been cleared to play after sitting out last week's loss to the Miami Dolphins. Taylor didn't do much with his start last week as he only managed 24 yards on the ground. He hauled in only one of his five targets as it was a bust of a day for Taylor. He might be worth holding given the amount of injuries in the 49ers backfield, but his fantasy outlook is bleak with Guerendo back in the mix in Week 17.

Marlon Humphrey Dec 29 9:53am CT
Marlon Humphrey

Baltimore Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey was fined $11,255 by the National Football League for committing an act of unsportsmanlike conduct in Week 16's game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Humphrey was fined for taunting when he held the ball in the direction of WR Calvin Austin while celebrating a pick-six during the fourth quarter.

Kenneth Gainwell Dec 29 9:50am CT
Kenneth Gainwell

Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell normally only sees a handful of carries each week. However, Gainwell could see more touches in Week 17 with the Eagles likely going with a run-heavy approach on offense. Gainwell has been held to 26 rushing yards or less in each of his last five games. Saquon Barkley continues to get the bulk of the carries and that's likely to continue in Week 17. Gainwell has seen more involvement in the receiving game lately, but he still remains a risky streaming choice for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
