Saints concerned over QB Derek Carr's hand injury

Sun Dec 8 6:27pm ET
Field Level Media

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr sustained a left hand injury and possible concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 14-11 victory over the New York Giants.

The Saints feared Carr fractured the hand, per reports, and he was slated to undergo further testing. He reportedly had a cast on the hand when exiting the stadium.

Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi said Carr may have to enter the concussion protocol.

Carr was injured when he tried to leap for a first down late in the final quarter. He was near the sideline and went airborne, landing hard on the left hand with this face then slamming into the turf as he landed out of bounds with 3:59 left in the game.

Jake Haener finished up the game for the Saints.

Carr completed 20 of 31 passes for 219 yards, one touchdown and one interception for New Orleans.

Overall, Carr has passed for 2,145 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions this season. He missed three games earlier this season due to an oblique injury.

Bender's Starts/Sits: Week 14

Player Notes
Jake Elliott Dec 8 11:00pm CT
Jake Elliott

Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott went 2-for-2 on extra points but missed his lone field-goal attempt during Sunday's Week 14 win over the Carolina Panthers. Elliott's miss came from 52 yards out, which means he still hasn't hit a kick from beyond 50 yards in 2024. All in all, he is 18-for-24 on field goals this year, which equates to a 75 percent success rate that would rank as the second-lowest mark of his career. Elliott checks in from outside the top 20 kickers in fantasy points and can be left on waivers in most leagues heading into Week 15 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kyler Murray Dec 8 10:50pm CT
Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray delivered an average fantasy performance in the Week 14 loss to the Seahawks. Murray's official stat line was 25 completions on 38 attempts for 259 yards, two passing touchdowns, and two interceptions, while also adding 16 rushing yards. Murray's interception struggles since the bye week continued in this game, as he threw interceptions on back-to-back passes in the first quarter, making it challenging for the Cardinals to stay competitive. Despite keeping the ball clean through the first 10 weeks of the season, Murray has thrown at least one interception in each of his last three games, more than doubling his season total. However, Murray was still able to bounce back from the two interceptions, and the Cardinals' offense looked better in the second half. It was just a little too late for the Cardinals in this matchup. The Cardinals will host the New England Patriots in a Week 15 game, giving Murray great bounce-back potential.

James Conner Dec 8 10:50pm CT
James Conner

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner had an efficient performance in the Week 14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Conner's official stat line was 18 carries for 90 yards and four receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown. The Cardinals were able to create more rushing lanes compared to their first matchup against the Seahawks, although the rushing attack still wasn't at its best. Conner's activity in the passing game was evident once again as he caught all of his targets. Conner's heavy workload continued with yet another 20+ touch game. He should deliver another strong performance next week when the Cardinals host the New England Patriots in what should be a "get right" game for the Cardinals' offense.

Trey Benson Dec 8 10:50pm CT
Trey Benson

Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Tre Benson did not contribute much in the Week 14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Although it seemed like Benson was due for more involvement in the Cardinals' offense, that simply has not been the case. Benson totaled two carries for 15 yards and added one reception for 4 yards. Until Benson puts together multiple games of fantasy-relevant production, he remains a handcuff for James Conner.

Travis Kelce Dec 8 10:43pm CT
Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce caught five of his six targets for a team-high 45 yards in a 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.

DeAndre Hopkins Dec 8 10:43pm CT
DeAndre Hopkins

Kansas City Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins caught four of his nine targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in a 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.

Fantasy Spin: Hopkins has been up and down since joining the Chiefs, but he does have four touchdowns in sevne games and has been targeted nine times in back-to-back contests. Hopkins has potential as a flex option, especially in deeper formats.

Bijan Robinson Dec 8 10:40pm CT
Bijan Robinson

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson rushed 22 times for 92 yards and a score while adding two catches for nine yards in Sunday's 42-21 loss to the Vikings. The 22-year-old has gone over 100 total yards rushing and receiving in seven of the last eight games and nine of 13 overall. The rushing score was his ninth TD of the season, and although it was just the second time all season that the former first-round draft pick failed to log at least three receptions, he's caught at least two balls in every game, giving him a solid weekly floor in fantasy. The second-year pro continues to be a weekly RB1 regardless of matchup and that should be no different in Week 15 when the Falcons take on the Raiders.

Kyle Juszczyk Dec 8 10:33pm CT
Kyle Juszczyk

San Francisco 49ers FB Kyle Juszczyk, WR Ricky Pearsall and TE Eric Saubert each had a single reception in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears. Juszczyk had a 3-yard catch, Saubert's grab was good for four yards and Pearsall had a 5-yard grab.

George Kittle Dec 8 10:23pm CT
George Kittle

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle registered six receptions for 151 yards on six targets in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears.

Fantasy Spin: It was Kittle's second 100-yard game of the season. While he also has a season-high two-game span without a touchdown, he remains a top-tier TE1 in all fantasy leagues, if not the best at his position. The 49ers host the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football in Week 15.

From TheHuddle

Ray-Ray McCloud Dec 8 10:20pm CT
Ray-Ray McCloud

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III earned the most targets of any Falcon pass catcher on Sunday with 11, converting a team-high eight of them and racking up 98 yards while adding one rush for three yards in a 42-21 loss to the Vikings. It continues an impressive stretch of productivity for the 28-year-old, now with at least four catches and six targets in three straight contests. Atlanta's kick returner lost a fumble that reduced his fantasy output slightly, but overall it was another example of the veteran cementing himself as the third option in Atlanta's passing attack. With 53 receptions, 574 receiving yards, and one TD on the season, McCloud III should have some appeal again as a flex option in Week 15 against the Raiders, especially in PPR formats.

Leonard Floyd Dec 8 10:13pm CT
Leonard Floyd

San Francisco 49ers DL Leonard Floyd posted two solo tackles with two sacks and two tackles for loss with two quarterback hits in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears. He has 5.5 sacks in the past four games.

From TheHuddle

Keenan Allen Dec 8 10:03pm CT
Keenan Allen

Chicago Bears WR Keenan Allen ended up with three receptions for 30 yards on five targets in Week 14 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Spin: Allen can be a useful WR3 or flex fantasy option in PPR leagues when he is healthy, but that has been a challenge throughout his career. He just cannot stay on the field, or he is constantly dealing with nagging injuries. Next up is a trip to visit the Minnesota Vikings.

From TheHuddle

Cooper Kupp Dec 8 10:03pm CT
Cooper Kupp

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp caught five of his eight targets for 92 yards and a touchdown in a 44-42 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 14.

Fantasy Spin: After a rare dud in Week 13, Kupp was back to his usual self against the Bills. Puka Nacua is the No. 1 option, but Kupp has WR2 upside in his own right.

From TheHuddle

Garrett Wilson Dec 8 10:00pm CT
Garrett Wilson

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson caught seven of his 10 targets for 114 yards in a 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. Wilson broke out of a three-game lull to lead the Jets in receiving in the close loss to their divisional rivals, although it was Davante Adams who caught Aaron Rodgers' lone touchdown pass. The 100-yard receiving game was Wilson's first since October 27 against the New England Patriots. He will look to stay hot in a plus matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15.

Jalen Reagor Dec 8 10:00pm CT
Jalen Reagor

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Reagor (finger) injured his finger on Sunday Night Football against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs and is considered questionable to return. Before getting hurt, Reagor was targeted just once and caught it for a gain of only four yards. In addition to Reagor, tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) was injured in the first half and is questionable to return. Leading receiver, rookie Ladd McConkey (knee, shoulder), was inactive for the Week 14 contest, so LA's receiving corps has really thinned out on Sunday night. Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer are seeing more targets as a result, with Stone Smartt now serving as the top pass-catching tight end. If Reagor does not return, Derius Davis would be in line to be the WR3. Reagor entered Week 14 action with just six catches for 96 yards in seven games in 2024, so he hasn't been on the fantasy radar.

From RotoBaller

Tyler Conklin Dec 8 10:00pm CT
Tyler Conklin

New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin caught three of his five targets for 33 yards in a 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. Conklin finished fourth on the Jets in targets in the close loss while posting his best yardage total since October 6 against the Minnesota Vikings. The veteran tight end has been trending up over the past two weeks, catching seven of his 10 targets for 65 yards over that span. He will be a low-end TE2 heading into Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

From RotoBaller

Anders Carlson Dec 8 10:00pm CT
Anders Carlson

New York Jets kicker Anders Carlson made all four of his field goals and added two extra points in a 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. Carlson hit field goals from 28, 30, 40, and 42 yards out but it wasn't quite enough to propel the Jets to the win. The veteran kicker has now hit all 11 of his field-goal attempts while kicking for both the Jets and the San Francisco 49ers this season. He will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15.

From RotoBaller

D.J. Moore Dec 8 9:53pm CT
D.J. Moore

Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore posted six receptions for a team-high 49 yards on eight targets in Week 14 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Fantasy Spin: Moore was the best Chicago receiver in terms of yardage, but Rome Odunze finished with two touchdowns. Consider him as a low-end WR3 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 15 at Minnesota.

From TheHuddle

Isaiah Davis Dec 8 9:50pm CT
Isaiah Davis

New York Jets running back Isaiah Davis carried the ball 10 times for 40 yards and a touchdown while catching three of his six targets for 27 yards in a 32-26 overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. With Breece Hall (knee) inactive, Davis didn't get the start but he overshadowed the more hyped Braelon Allen, finding the end zone on a 17-yard run in the second quarter. Davis seems unlikely to wrestle away the lead-back role from Allen if Hall misses another game but he has become interesting as a handcuff option in fantasy leagues moving forward. He should be a priority waiver add this week as the Jets prepare to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

From RotoBaller

Will Dissly Dec 8 9:50pm CT
Will Dissly

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury in the Sunday night divisional showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs and is questionable to return for the second half. Dissly hurt himself on the final play of the first half on a 15-yard reception. The 28-year-old caught both of his targets in a slow offensive first half for the Bolts for 19 receiving yards. The Chargers are also without rookie receiver Ladd McConkey (knee, shoulder) for this one, so quarterback Justin Herbert is running thin on aerial weapons if Dissly doesn't return to this contest. If Dissly is unable to return to action on Sunday night in KC, Stone Smartt will likely benefit the most at the position, with Tucker Fisk also potentially getting on the field more often. To begin the fourth quarter, Smart has also caught both of his targets for 45 yards.
