Browns LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (neck) carted off vs. Ravens

Sun Oct 27 5:35pm ET
Field Level Media

Browns linebacker and leading tackler Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah was carted off the field with a neck injury during Cleveland's 29-24 win over the visiting Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Owusu-Koramoah, 24, was hurt during the third quarter after colliding with Baltimore running back Derrick Henry. ESPN reported that Owusu-Koramoah was evaluated at a nearby hospital and has movement in all extremities.

Henry's right shoulder barreled into Owusu-Koramoah's head and neck area on a 10-yard run with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter. Owusu-Koramoah immediately went down and stayed on the ground as medical trainers tended to him for several minutes.

He was placed on a backboard and raised a fist to the crowd as he was carted off with the Browns leading 20-17.

Owusu-Koramoah had seven tackles on Sunday before exiting, pushing his team-leading total to 61. The fourth-year veteran out of Notre Dame posted a career-high 101 tackles in 16 games (13 starts) last season and made his first Pro Bowl.

Cleveland also lost cornerback Denzel Ward (concussion) during the third quarter. Ward has now sustained six documented concussions across his seven NFL seasons.

Jameis Winston connected with Cedric Tillman for the game-winning, 38-yard touchdown with 59 seconds left as the Browns (2-6) halted a five-game skid.

Bender's Starts/Sits: Week 8

Player Notes
Amari Cooper Oct 27 9:10pm CT
Amari Cooper

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper caught one pass for three yards on two targets in the team's win over Seattle in Week 8. The veteran played more snaps than last week in his second game with the Bills but trailed Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir. Those receivers and tight end Dalton Kincaid were Josh Allen's primary targets. It's difficult for all fantasy-relevant players on the Buffalo offense to succeed at once, and there will be inconsistencies for Cooper and the rest of the wide receiver room. The game script also didn't help Cooper. The Bills held a 17-point lead in the third quarter. He'll be a WR2/3 next week against the Miami Dolphins.

Bucky Irving Oct 27 9:10pm CT
Bucky Irving

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving has been impressive, especially over the last few weeks. The rookie back has made the most of his chances and carved out a nice role for himself in this offense. On Sunday, Irving rushed nine times for 44 yards while hauling in all seven of his targets for 40 yards in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Irving has now seen nine or more carries in six straight games. Now, Irving is getting involved in the passing game as well, which should only increase his value. Irving is putting himself in the RB2 conversation for next week's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Khalil Shakir Oct 27 9:10pm CT
Khalil Shakir

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir caught nine passes for 107 yards in the team's 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He also rushed once for two yards. Shakir's nine receptions are a career-high, as were his 10 targets. It was the third time in Shakir's three-year career that topped 100 receiving yards. Shakir was involved early and often and led the Bills in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. The receiving touchdowns went to Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid. Shakir keeps a steady floor operating from the slot and will be in the flex conversation when the Bills host the Miami Dolphins next week.

Cade Otton Oct 27 9:10pm CT
Cade Otton

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton delivered an incredible performance during Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Otton functioned as the top pass-catching option with the Bucs missing both Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) on Sunday. The young tight end hauled in nine of his 10 targets for 81 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Otton now has 17 receptions for 181 yards and two scores over his last two games. He'll head into a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs next week. Fantasy managers can go ahead and consider Otton a TE1 now with the Bucs shorthanded on receiving options.

James Cook Oct 27 9:00pm CT
James Cook

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook rushed 17 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the team's 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He also caught three passes for 22 yards. It was an all-around tremendous effort from Cook, who ran with great vision and agility and plowed through defenders. His scores came in the second half as the Bills played with a lead. Cook has a stranglehold on the Buffalo backfield, despite Ray Davis' emergence in Week 6. Cook will be an RB1 next week against Miami. He scored three touchdowns against the Dolphins in Week 2.

Baker Mayfield Oct 27 9:00pm CT
Baker Mayfield

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield showed up ready to play despite losing his top two wide receivers last week. Mayfield didn't miss a step as he completed 37-of-50 passing attempts for three touchdowns with two interceptions in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The 29-year-old now has thrown for over 300 yards in four of his last five games. The Bucs aren't going to have Mike Evans (hamstring) or Chris Godwin (ankle) for quite some time, but they've found a way to move the ball without them. He does head into a tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs next week. However, Mayfield has shown no signs of slowing down and is a must-start for fantasy managers.

Keon Coleman Oct 27 9:00pm CT
Keon Coleman

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman caught five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in the team's 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. His score came on a two-yard fade route on Buffalo's first drive. The rookie's five receptions are a career-high. This was the second straight week Coleman earned seven targets. The second-round pick appears to be coming into his own, whether it's by adapting to the NFL game or the arrival of Amari Cooper attracting defenses away. With back-to-back great stat lines, Coleman is moving from boom-or-bust bench piece into the weekly flex conversation.

Rachaad White Oct 27 9:00pm CT
Rachaad White

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White continues to have little success on the ground. However, White has been able to salvage his fantasy value with his receiving ability. That was the case once again during Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. White rushed six times for 29 yards, but hauled in five of his six targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in the loss. The Bucs are without their top two wideouts, so as expected they went with the short passing game. White figures to be stuck in this running back committee for the foreseeable future. Although, White still should be a fine PPR option for fantasy managers during next week's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Geno Smith Oct 27 8:55pm CT
Geno Smith

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith had a rough day at the office in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills. With top wide receiver DK Metcalf (knee) out of the lineup, Smith and the Seahawks offense as a whole struggled to get anything going. Smith continued to be accurate (72% completion percentage), but he failed to throw a touchdown for the first time this season. Smith and the Seahawks seemed to be building offensive momentum after a great Week 7 in Atlanta, but that came crashing down in Week 8. Overall, the game was a mess for the Seahawks as they lost 31 to 10. Luckily, Metcalf's injury is not serious and he could return as soon as Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams. Either way, expect Smith to have a better day next week against a softer defense.

John Metchie III Oct 27 8:55pm CT
John Metchie III

Dynasty | Texans wide receiver John Metchie had three catches for 29 yards in a win against the Colts. Dynasty Analysis: The line isn't anything to write home about, but it's quite possible the Texans have lost Stefon Diggs at least in the short-term, and possibly for the season. If Nico Collins remains out, Metchie has a chance to finally emerge in dynasty leagues opposite Tank Dell. He should be on rosters everywhere at this point.

Josh Jacobs Oct 27 8:54pm CT
Josh Jacobs

Dynasty | Packers running back Josh Jacobs had 127 rushing yards and two touchdowns in a win against Jacksonville. Dynasty Analysis: He added one catch for -2 yards. This was one of his best days as a Packer by far and it's even more notable because it looks like Jordan Love could miss some time with a groin injury. Regardless, Jacobs has been a workhorse for Green Bay and has done the same for dynasty managers all season. He's a prime trade target for a contending team as we get close to November.

Tank Bigsby Oct 27 8:54pm CT
Tank Bigsby

Dynasty | Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby had 78 rushing yards in a loss against Green Bay. Dynasty Analysis: He added two catches for eight yards. Bigsby had a great opportunity to make a statement today with Travis Etienne out with an injury, but he just couldn't get much going. On the plus side, he did get the lion's share of the work as D'Ernest Johnson had just one carry compared to his 18. This will likely quiet some of the Etienne trade rumors, at least for a week. Bigsby remains a solid hold in dynasty leagues as his managers are hoping for him to get a backfield to himself someday, either in Jacksonville or elsewhere.

Cade Otton Oct 27 8:54pm CT
Cade Otton

Dynasty | Tampa Bay tight end Cade Otton had nine catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns in a loss against Atlanta. Dynasty Analysis: Otton led the Bucs in targets with ten and made the most of them with the biggest day of his young career. With Mike Evans and Chris Godwin out, it seems Tampa Bay is going to look towards Otton to lead the receiving corps in the short-term. While this will likely be his best game of the year, he has 17 catches for 181 yards and those two scores over the past two weeks, making him an easy TE1 until further notice.

Bucky Irving Oct 27 8:53pm CT
Bucky Irving

Dynasty | Bucs running back Bucky Irving had 44 rushing yards, seven catches and 40 receiving yards in a loss against the Falcons. Dynasty Analysis: Irving simply makes plays each and every week and looks like the best running back on the roster. While Rachaad White (11 touches) and Sean Tucker (three) aren't going anywhere any time soon, Irving looks like the best bet for fantasy production moving forward. Any injury to White would also vault him into the RB2 conversation at the very least. Irving has a solid future and remains a great hold in dynasty leagues.

Alvin Kamara Oct 27 8:53pm CT
Alvin Kamara

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara rushed 10 times for 67 yards and caught six of his 11 targets for 55 yards in a 26-8 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8.

Fantasy Spin: It has been a rough stretch for Kamara in terms of efficiency, but he found some room to run against the Chargers. More importantly, he continues to pile up receptions, allowing him to provide decent production despite the Saints' sputtering offense.

Josh Allen Oct 27 8:50pm CT
Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 283 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the team's 31-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. He also added seven carries for 25 yards. Outside of his first interception of the season, Allen was in complete command of the offense. He led a 90-yard drive, capped by a two-yard touchdown reception by Keon Coleman, on Buffalo's first possession and the Bills never relinquished the lead. Allen's second touchdown pass came on a 12-yard strike to tight end Dalton Kincaid just before halftime. The 28-year-old was just inside QB1 range before Sunday and Monday Night Football. The Bills host the Miami Dolphins in Week 9.

Jordan Mason Oct 27 8:50pm CT
Jordan Mason

San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan Mason (shoulder) exited Sunday night's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in the second quarter with a shoulder injury and is questionable to return. He's racked up 18 yards on his six carries thus far. Mason looked to have injured himself earlier in the contest but was not brought into the blue medical tent for further evaluation. However, he was not out there for a 49ers series late in the first half and ultimately went to the locker room. For now, rookie running back Isaac Guerendo will take over lead duties in San Francisco's backfield. Expect an update on Mason shortly.

Davante Adams Oct 27 8:40pm CT
Davante Adams

New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams caught four of his six targets for 54 yards in a 25-22 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8. Adams finished second on the Jets in targets, catches, and receiving yards behind only Garrett Wilson in the close loss but it goes down as his second straight pedestrian outing since the team acquired him from the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of Week 7. Adams should have better days ahead of him as he gets more acclimated to the New York offense but it appears that he is not going to be overtaking Wilson as the team's No. 1 receiver anytime soon. Adams will be a low-end WR2 in fantasy heading into Week 9's Thursday night game against the Houston Texans.

Tyler Conklin Oct 27 8:40pm CT
Tyler Conklin

New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin caught three of his four targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in a 25-22 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8. Conklin brought down Aaron Rodgers' first touchdown pass of the game on a two-yard catch in the first quarter. The veteran tight end is quietly putting together a solid fantasy season as he now has 26 catches for 240 yards and two touchdowns through eight games. Conklin will be a streaming option heading into Week 9's Thursday night game against the Houston Texans.

Greg Zuerlein Oct 27 8:40pm CT
Greg Zuerlein

New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein saw his struggles continue in a 25-22 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8. Zuerlein made one of his two field-goal attempts and missed one of his two extra points in the close loss to the Pats on Sunday. The veteran kicker has been erratic in 2024 as he has now missed four field goals over his past three games played. Overall, Zuerlein has hit nine of his 15 field goals through eight games. He will look to bounce back against the Houston Texans in Week 9's Thursday night game.
