Cowboys star G Zack Martin doubtful to play vs. Commanders

Fri Nov 22 6:49pm ET
Field Level Media

Dallas Cowboys star guard Zack Martin is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders due to ankle and shoulder injuries.

Martin didn't practice at all this week. He also physically struggled during Monday night's loss to the Houston Texas.

Martin, who turned 34 on Wednesday, has started all 162 games played in 11 seasons with the Cowboys. He's a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and a seven-time first-team All-Pro.

Tight end Jake Ferguson (concussion) and safety Markquese Bell (shoulder) have been ruled out. Neither player practiced this week after being hurt against the Texans.

Cornerback DaRon Bland (foot) practiced in full this week and will make his season debut. He was injured in August.

Star wideout CeeDee Lamb (back/foot) was a full practice participant on Friday and is good to go.

Cornerback Trevon Diggs (groin/knee) and receiver Brandin Cooks (knee) are among six players listed as questionable. The others are offensive tackle Chuma Edoga (toe), guard Tyler Smith (ankle/knee), defensive end Marshawn Kneeland (knee) and linebacker Nick Vigil (foot).

Hot Plays, Fades and Sleepers: Week 12

Player Notes
Jayden Reed Nov 22 6:10pm CT
Jayden Reed

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed has been a volatile pass-catching option for the Packers but looks to be on the good side of variance as the Packers host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. Reed followed up a Week 9 where he had 113 receiving yards with a dud outing after the team's Week 10 bye. With just two receptions and 23 yards, Reed's performance was very disappointing, but at the very least, he did catch a touchdown to soften the blow. Against slot receivers, the 49ers have been incredibly stout, allowing just the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game. While Reed is the most dynamic pass-catching weapon the Packers have, he hasn't been immune to the team's offensive struggles. For Week 12, Reed is a low-end WR2 that we know has the upside for much more.

Jason Myers Nov 22 6:10pm CT
Jason Myers

Seattle Seahawks kicker Jason Myers could have a solid outing in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals. With the Seahawks likely able to move the ball well against the Cardinals, Myers should be in plenty of solid scoring positions. Myers matched his season high with 12 fantasy points against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11. With the Seahawks looking more cohesive on offense last week, the arrow could be pointing up for Myers. Myers has connected on 14 of 17 field goals this year, including five from over 50 yards. His accuracy has not been an issue; however, his opportunities have. He should continue to display his talent this week. With six teams on a bye, Myers is a solid target as a fill-in attached to a good offense.

Tyreek Hill Nov 22 6:00pm CT
Tyreek Hill

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (wrist) has been removed from the team's final Week 12 injury report on Friday and will play on Sunday versus the division-rival New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium. Hill was limited in practice on Wednesday and Friday while being a full-go on Thursday. He's reportedly dealing with a torn wrist ligament but hasn't missed any games because of it and should be considered a must-start in fantasy lineups this weekend. The eight-time Pro Bowler has a disappointing season line to this point (44-523-3) for his standards, but he's found the end zone in each of the last two weeks and appears to be finding his rhythm with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa again. The 30-year-old speedster has a good matchup on tap against a Patriots defense that has been a top-12 matchup for receivers this year in terms of half-PPR points allowed per game.

Josh Jacobs Nov 22 6:00pm CT
Josh Jacobs

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (quadricep, calf) will suit up for the Packers in Week 12 after practicing in a limited fashion on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Jacobs was left off the injury report for their matchup with the San Francisco 49ers this week, and he could have some success against a 49ers' run defense that is much more susceptible. The 49ers are just 17th in EPA per rush attempt this season and since Week 6, have the second-highest missed-tackle rate since Week 6 and a middle-of-the-road success rate allowed (13th). Jacobs has been reliant on volume for the most part and that's been readily available to him this season in Green Bay. He'll be incredibly important for the Packers if they are to have success, so Jacobs could be in line for solid production as a back end RB1 for fantasy purposes.

Hayden Hurst Nov 22 5:50pm CT
Hayden Hurst

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hayden Hurst (hip) was added to the Week 12 injury report on Friday and was listed as a limited practice participant. It's something to watch as the Chargers head into their final practice day of the week on Saturday. The 31-year-old won't be on the fantasy radar as a starting option if he's active on Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens, though, with Will Dissly being the clear-cut top tight end receiving option for quarterback Justin Herbert this year. Hurst has yet to find the end zone in his first season with the Bolts and only has seven reception (12 targets) for 65 yards in his seven games played. Fantasy managers should steer clear of Hurst as he faces his former team in primetime on Monday despite six teams being on bye in Week 12.

Jordan Love Nov 22 5:50pm CT
Jordan Love

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been shaky to say the least over the past few weeks and he'll look to steady the ship as the Packers play host to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. Love has thrown just one touchdown pass in the past three games after starting his season with five consecutive games of multiple touchdown passes. The Packers are going to need Love to find his footing if the Packers are going to make some noise in the NFC, but the 49ers represent a stiff test. San Francisco has given up the sixth-fewest passing yards per game and the fourth-least passing touchdowns allowed. Love is just a high-end QB2 this week against the 49ers but has the upside to produce in a tough matchup.

From RotoBaller

Josh Downs Nov 22 5:40pm CT
Josh Downs

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs leads his team in targets (71) and yards per game (63.0). Quarterback Anthony Richardson looked his way five times in Week 11 and Downs caught all five balls for 84 yards and a touchdown. Coming into the contest with a 44.4% completion rate, there were concerns about Richardson's ability to get his receivers the ball, but he proved that he could still do it, even against a strong Jets pass defense (20-for-30, 66.7%). The Colts are seven-point underdogs for Sunday's contest against the Lions so there should be plenty of opportunities for Downs as the offense tries to keep pace with Detroit. With five catches in six of nine games played and the clear No. 1 receiver, the former third-round draft pick has a pretty reliable floor. The second-year pro sets up as a back-end WR2 this week with some small upside given his ability to find the zone (four TDs in 2024).

From RotoBaller

Jacob Cowing Nov 22 5:40pm CT
Jacob Cowing

San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver/kick returner Jacob Cowing (concussion) was unable to clear the league's concussion protocol and has been ruled out for Week 12 versus the Green Bay Packers. Cowing suffered his concussion in last Sunday's loss to the division-rival Seattle Seahawks and will now be hoping to clear the concussion protocol next week in order to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 13. Unexpectedly, the 23-year-old has mostly factored in on special teams (returning punts) in his first year in the NFL, despite Brandon Aiyuk (knee) being lost for the season. In nine games in 2024, the Arizona product only has two receptions on three targets for 50 yards. With Cowing out of action this Sunday at Lambeau Field, Ronnie Bell will most likely serve as the team's punt returner.

From RotoBaller

Christian Watson Nov 22 5:40pm CT
Christian Watson

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson is looking to build off the best game of his 2024 season as the Packers host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. Watson amassed four receptions and 150 receiving yards and was hugely efficient for the Packers in their win over the Chicago Bears in Week 11. Besides that outburst, Watson has been kept relatively in check by defenses and hasn't been given a full complement of snaps and routes as he's rotated with Dontayvion Wicks and Jayden Reed at times. Still, Watson hasn't been able to make the most of his opportunities, which makes him a volatile fantasy asset to start. That puts Watson squarely into flex territory in a tough matchup with the 49ers in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Romeo Doubs Nov 22 5:40pm CT
Romeo Doubs

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has had a tough go of things over the last couple of weeks, but he looks to right the ship as the Packers square off with the visiting San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. Despite running the most routes per dropback each week for the Packers, Doubs hasn't had the production come with that time on the field as he has just seven targets, five receptions, and 45 receiving yards in his last two games. It hasn't been as fruitful of a time for the Packers' passing game as quarterback Jordan Love hasn't thrown for multiple touchdown passes in his last three games. With Doubs' falling production and the stingy 49ers pass defense set to take on the Packers, Doubs should be considered a mid-range flex play at best with a lower ceiling and a somewhat-shaky floor.

From RotoBaller

C.J. Stroud Nov 22 5:30pm CT
C.J. Stroud

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud should mostly be kept to Superflex duty as his team takes on the solid Tennessee Titans defense in Week 12. The Ohio State product has had an up-and-down second season, ranking a disappointing 17th among fantasy quarterbacks after his breakout rookie campaign. Part of the struggle has been pass protection, as Houston has allowed the third-most sacks in the league. Tennessee, despite its 2-8 record, has allowed the fewest air yards in the league and has been a competent defense. Stroud has his top playmaker back in receiver Nico Collins, but with this matchup, managers in 1QB formats should be weighing their other possible options.

From RotoBaller

Brandon Allen Nov 22 5:30pm CT
Brandon Allen

The San Francisco 49ers will be without starting quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, and they could also be without starting left tackle Trent Williams (ankle), as he's listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Williams played through the ankle injury in the Week 11 loss to the division-rival Seattle Seahawks and was pretty sore following the game. The 36-year-old has yet to miss a game in 2024, but the Niners may be forced to sit him out to let his ankle heal heading into next week's showdown against the Buffalo Bills. The Niners' offense will already be facing a serious downgrade with Brandon Allen starting under center, and things could get worse if they don't have Williams at left tackle. The Packers' defense/special teams unit will be a sneaky streaming option this weekend.

From RotoBaller

Jonathan Taylor Nov 22 5:30pm CT
Jonathan Taylor

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor was held to under 100 total yards rushing and receiving last Sunday for the second time in three weeks. While Week 12's showdown with the Lions looks like another tough matchup on paper, with the Lions allowing the fifth-fewest rushing yards per game thus far and the fourth-fewest fantasy points to running backs, if the Colts wish to keep this game close then they will have to run the ball to kill the clock and limit Detroit's opportunities, which in turn should benefit the 25-year-old. If the game gets out of reach, however, the Colts will find themselves in catch-up mode using the passing game, which Taylor has not been heavily involved in to this point, averaging less than two receptions per game for less than 14 yards per contest. Nevertheless, the talented former second-round draft pick projects as a back-end RB1 this week.

From RotoBaller

Dalton Schultz Nov 22 5:20pm CT
Dalton Schultz

Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz will face the struggling Tennessee Titans in Week 12, though that's not good news for a mid-tier fantasy player at his position. The Titans' solid defense has been particularly good against fantasy tight ends, ranking sixth overall and holding Minnesota's T.J. Hockenson to just two catches for 13 yards in a loss to the Vikings last week. Schultz now hasn't scored a regular-season touchdown in a calendar year and ranks 23rd among tight ends in PPR formats. Bye weeks are wreaking havoc on lineups, but fantasy managers should aim higher than Schultz's typical TE2 output if they have other options.

From RotoBaller

Brandon Allen Nov 22 5:20pm CT
Brandon Allen

The Green Bay Packers defense and special teams unit got a bit of an upgrade and should now be considered a pretty good option in fantasy lineups as the Packers host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. The 49ers will be without quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) as he was ruled out of Sunday's matchup due to a shoulder injury. Journeyman backup Brandon Allen will get the nod for the suddenly reeling 49ers who are looking to crawl out of a 5-5 hole on the season to reach the playoffs in the NFC. For the Packers, their defense hasn't been great over the last four games, but their three-sack and a blocked kick against the Chicago Bears were good enough to place in the top-ten for fantasy defenses. With Allen in at quarterback on the road at Lambeau Field, the Packers should get a solid upgrade to become plenty startable in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Tank Dell Nov 22 5:20pm CT
Tank Dell

The Tennessee Titans present a difficult matchup for Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell in their first meeting of the season in Week 12. The Titans' brutal offense has dragged down the team's record, but their defense ranks an impressive second overall against fantasy wide receivers through 11 weeks. That presents a complicated decision for fantasy managers who roster the second-year Texan, who is once again playing second fiddle to teammate Nico Collins and dependent on a shaky Houston offensive line that has struggled to limit sacks at times. Dell is averaging 8.3 targets over his past three games, but the risk involved with the Week 12 matchup relegates him to a WR3/Flex play.

From RotoBaller

Justice Hill Nov 22 5:20pm CT
Justice Hill

Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill (concussion) was able to practice in full on Friday after being limited on Thursday. Hill suffered a concussion in the Week 11 loss to the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers and is working through the league's concussion protocol. It's a good sign that he ditched his non-contact jersey on Friday, but Hill still needs to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to get the green light to play on Monday night versus the Los Angeles Chargers. If Hill is cleared in time to play on Monday, he'll be a low-upside RB3/flex, at best, in point-per-reception leagues. His opportunities out of Baltimore's backfield could be more sparse down the stretch as second-year back Keaton Mitchell gets more involved. If Hill isn't cleared by an independent neurologist, Mitchell and rookie Rasheen Ali would be backing up Derrick Henry against the Bolts.

From RotoBaller

Nico Collins Nov 22 5:20pm CT
Nico Collins

Back in the lineup after a prolonged absence, Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins is once again a top fantasy option as his team takes on the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. The Michigan Man had only four catches last week against Dallas, but he also played only 47% of Houston's offensive snaps in the 34-10 win. The Titans, however, are a much tougher defensive matchup. Tennessee has given up the fewest air yards in the NFL so far this season and ranks second against fantasy wide receivers. Even so, Collins is among the elite tier of wide receivers who ought to be started even against top opponents, and this week is no exception.

From RotoBaller

Joe Mixon Nov 22 5:20pm CT
Joe Mixon

Already one of the top-performing fantasy players of the year, Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon faces another decent matchup when his team plays host to the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. The top Houston back has scored in six straight games and rushed for 100-plus yards in five of six, and now takes on a Tennessee team that ranks 17th against fantasy running backs. The Texans are giving Mixon a feature back workload with nearly four red zone touches and 2.5 targets per game, making him a dynamic RB1 option in any format. He should be starting once again in Week 12.

From RotoBaller

Tucker Kraft Nov 22 5:20pm CT
Tucker Kraft

Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft looks to get out of his production slump as the Packers host the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. If you've started Kraft in fantasy football over the past couple of weeks, you've no doubt been disappointed. Just before the Packers' bye in Week 10, Kraft was held to four catches for 34 yards on six targets. Last week after the team's bye, Kraft was completely stymied with just one target and no catches. The Packers' offense has been in a funk lately with quarterback Jordan Love not throwing for double-digit touchdowns in the last three games. With the Packers set to tangle with a tough pass defense in the 49ers, Kraft is in the streaming category of fantasy tight ends this week, where you're hoping for a touchdown to make starting him worth it.
