Steelers star LB T.J. Watt (ankle) hurt vs. Eagles

Sun Dec 15 9:04pm ET
Field Level Media

Pittsburgh Steelers star linebacker T.J. Watt injured his left ankle in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and didn't return.

Watt told reporters after the game that he rolled the ankle. Watt said he underwent X-rays and the results were negative.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that Watt will be evaluated throughout the week. Pittsburgh visits the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC North showdown on Saturday.

Watt said he was unsure if he would be able to play against Baltimore.

Watt was injured while rushing around the edge in an effort to reach Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. He began to limp during the play and then fell to the ground with 4:46 left in the contest and reached for the ankle.

The 30-year-old Watt had two sacks and a forced fumble to go with seven tackles on Sunday. He has 11 1/2 sacks this season to reach double digits for the sixth time in his eight-year career.

Watt, a six-time Pro Bowl selection, has 108 career sacks in 118 games with Pittsburgh. He was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 when he had a career-high 22.5 sacks to match the official league record (since 1982).

Chris Boswell Dec 15 9:50pm CT
Chris Boswell

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell drilled both of his field goal attempts and converted his lone extra-point try of a 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Pittsburgh struggled to get much of anything going offensively on Sunday, but Boswell delivered when given the opportunity. He was good from 37 and 49 yards out to bring him just six made field goals away from tying David Akers' NFL record of 44 made in a season. He will remain a high-end fantasy option as he looks to pull even closer in a Week 16 clash with the Baltimore Ravens.

Cam Hart Dec 15 9:50pm CT
Cam Hart

According to Tyler Dragon of USA Today, Los Angeles Chargers defensive back Cam Hart (concussion) was forced from Sunday's 40-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and did not return. Before leaving, the 24-year-old notched one tackle and one pass breakup. Hart sustained his injury in the final minute of the second quarter while defending a deep shot to Bucs' wideout Mike Evans. It's undoubtedly a blow to the team as the rookie DB was starting for the Chargers and their third-leading snap-getter among defensive backs. With LA on a short week and a matchup against the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, we'll unlikely see him clear the league's protocol expeditiously enough to be active for the game. However, crazier things have happened. Fantasy managers will want to monitor his status over the coming days.

Myles Garrett Dec 15 9:40pm CT
Myles Garrett

The Cleveland Browns defense allowed 21 points and failed to record any sacks or force any turnovers in a 21-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. Cleveland allowed the Chiefs to post 311 yards of total offense in the loss. Myles Garrett survived an injury scare as he appeared to be in great pain after suffering an eye injury. He ultimately was able to return to the game after missing a short period of time. The Browns have another tough task as they will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16.

Pat Freiermuth Dec 15 9:40pm CT
Pat Freiermuth

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth caught three of his six targets for 22 receiving yards and a touchdown in a Week 15 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Although Philadelphia held Pittsburgh to just 163 total yards, Freiermuth managed to deliver a solid fantasy performance. His nine-yard score in the second quarter was not only his sixth trip to the end zone of the campaign but also his third in as many weeks. Freiermuth has been more important to the Steelers' aerial attack over the past two weeks with George Pickens (hamstring) inactive, but it is worth noting that his upward trajectory for fantasy began in Week 12. Despite the loss, the 26-year-old will carry some positive momentum into a Week 16 clash with the Baltimore Ravens.

Geno Smith Dec 15 9:40pm CT
Geno Smith

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (knee) was forced from Sunday night's meeting with the Green Bay Packers and is questionable to return. Smith exited the contest in the third quarter after taking a low hit on a jump pass from Packers' linebacker Edgerrin Cooper. He landed with his leg still in Cooper's grasp, which caused his knee to bend awkwardly. Before his exit, the 34-year-old completed an efficient 15-of-19 passes for 149 yards and one interception -- picking up five yards on his lone carry. Quarterback Sam Howell has entered the game in relief.

Trey Benson Dec 15 9:40pm CT
Trey Benson

Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson (ankle) exited Sunday's 30-17 win over the New England Patriots with an ankle injury and did not return. The rookie would finish his day with 22 yards on five carries. Benson seemingly sustained the injury midway through the fourth quarter. The severity of the ailment is unknown at this time, though running backs and ankle issues never mesh well. It's unfortunate news for the 22-year-old, who has rushed to the tune of 4.62 yards per carry in his first taste of big-league action. While his workload has been spotty behind trustworthy lead-back James Conner, Benson has done damage with his touches and has been a nice change of pace for the team. Backfield mate Emari Demercado (back) was recently placed on IR with issues of his own, so if the former Florida State Seminole can't suit up in Week 16, DeeJay Dallas would be the backup to Conner. Arizona will square off against the Carolina Panthers on the road next Sunday.

Calvin Austin III Dec 15 9:40pm CT
Calvin Austin III

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III logged five receptions for 65 yards on five targets in a 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Austin's yardage total may not look all that impressive out of context, but he accounted for nearly 40% of Pittsburgh's offensive yards on Sunday. He was on the receiving end of the Steelers' longest gain of the day, hauling in a 31-yard dime from quarterback Russell Wilson in the third quarter. While Austin's role has been inconsistent this season, he is the team's most explosive playmaker with George Pickens (hamstring) injured. If Pickens is unable to return against the Baltimore Ravens next week, Austin will be on the fantasy radar as a flex option in deeper leagues.

Elijah Moore Dec 15 9:30pm CT
Elijah Moore

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore caught two of his six targets for minus-one yard in a 21-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. Moore appeared to be on his way to a larger role with tight end David Njoku (hamstring) inactive but he ended up doing next to nothing in the blowout loss. The veteran had a nice stretch in November and early December but he has now caught just five passes for 33 yards over his past two games. That being said, he will still be worth a look as a flex option in a plus matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16 assuming that the team sticks with Jameis Winston after benching him late in the loss to the Chiefs.

From RotoBaller

Jaylen Warren Dec 15 9:30pm CT
Jaylen Warren

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren turned four carries into 12 yards and two targets into one catch for three yards in Sunday's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Pittsburgh was never able to establish the run in this one and could not sustain drives, especially in the second half. Warren has just one top-20 fantasy showing this season and continues to serve as a change-of-pace back with Najee Harris operating ahead of him. He is only worth rostering in deeper formats and should not be considered in starting lineups heading into a Week 16 meeting with the Baltimore Ravens.

From RotoBaller

Jalen Brooks Dec 15 9:30pm CT
Jalen Brooks

Dallas Cowboys second-year wide receiver Jalen Brooks hauled in the first touchdown of his career late in the Week 15 win over Carolina. The South Carolina product has seldom been used over the majority of his first two seasons, but he has made noise in the preseason and looked good on the 17-yard touchdown connection with Cooper Rush. He is not on the fantasy radar, but will be worth monitoring for deep dynasty leagues in the event that he earns more of a role going forward.

From RotoBaller

Anthony Richardson Dec 15 9:30pm CT
Anthony Richardson

Denver Broncos defensive back Patrick Surtain II (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in his team's 31-13 win against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. Surtain II's ailment came halfway through the fourth quarter when he intercepted quarterback Anthony Richardson's pass and attempted to turn it upfield. Colts' wide receiver Josh Downs hit the 24-year-old low, diving at his legs in a way that we've previously seen tear up knees. Fortunately, that was not the case. He would return to the contest on the following possession but had to be helped off the field by trainers after attempting a tackle on running back Trey Sermon. His day would end with one tackle and one interception. Head coach Sean Payton did not comment on the severity of the DB's injury after the game, so with the Broncos on a short week and a meeting against the Los Angeles Chargers on tap for this Thursday, expect news on him over the next 24 hours.

Jordan Akins Dec 15 9:30pm CT
Jordan Akins

Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Akins caught three of his four targets for 30 yards in a 21-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. Akins saw an increased role in the Cleveland offense after David Njoku (hamstring) was ruled out on Sunday morning and wound up finishing second on the team in receiving behind only Jerry Jeudy. Akins will be worth a look as a streamer in deep leagues and two-tight end formats in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals if Njoku is forced to miss another game.

Riley Patterson Dec 15 9:30pm CT
Riley Patterson

Cleveland Browns kicker Riley Patterson made his lone extra-point attempt in a 21-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. Patterson was elevated from the team's practice squad on Saturday and replaced Dustin Hopkins as the team's kicker for the game as the latter has made just 16 of his 25 field goals in 2024. Patterson didn't get a chance to do much in the loss and will likely revert back to the team's practice squad as head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters after the loss that Hopkins will be his kicker in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals as he just wanted to give the veteran the week off after his struggles this season.

Jerome Ford Dec 15 9:20pm CT
Jerome Ford

Cleveland Browns running back Jerome Ford carried the ball seven times for 84 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for 20 yards in a 21-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. Ford saw some extra work with starter Nick Chubb leaving the game early with a broken foot. The veteran running back did most of his damage on a 62-yard touchdown in the third quarter, giving him his second touchdown of the season. With Chubb set to miss the remainder of the season, Ford will operate as the Browns' lead back for the remainder of the season and should be a priority waiver claim in the upcoming week.

From RotoBaller

Josh Palmer Dec 15 9:20pm CT
Josh Palmer

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer didn't do much in a Week 15 loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs. Palmer was targeted just three times, making two catches for 10 yards total. It was a rough game for the Chargers offense in general, but Palmer certainly didn't do anything to stand out. The Bolts have a quick rest before taking on the division-rival Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football. Palmer should continue as a boom-or-bust type option without much upside.

From RotoBaller

Najee Harris Dec 15 9:20pm CT
Najee Harris

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris managed just 14 rushing yards on six carries and hauled in his only target for a seven-yard gain in a 27-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Although fantasy managers cannot be pleased with this performance, Harris' output would have been even worse had he been credited with a lost fumble on a dropped toss from quarterback Russell Wilson. This turnover, which occurred in Philadelphia territory, arguably cost the Steelers the game as they trailed by just one touchdown in the third quarter before coughing the ball up. Harris' lack of touches can mostly be attributed to the fact that Pittsburgh never led on the scoreboard and only possessed the ball twice in the second half. Unfortunately, Harris has another difficult matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16.

From RotoBaller

Jake Ferguson Dec 15 9:20pm CT
Jake Ferguson

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson did not make much of an impact in his second game back since missing two games due to a concussion. Ferguson was targeted four times, catching two passes for 23 yards in the Week 15 win over Carolina. The third-year tight end just does not seem to have the same connection with quarterback Cooper Rush that he has with Dak Prescott (hamstring). Ferguson will continue to be a dart throw option moving forward, but still has not found the end zone in the 2024 campaign.

From RotoBaller

Dalton Kincaid Dec 15 9:20pm CT
Dalton Kincaid

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid caught four passes for 53 yards in the team's 48-42 win against the Detroit Lions. The 25-year-old returned to action following a three-game absence due to a knee injury. He was heavily involved in the offense, tying wide receiver Khalil Shakir as the team's target leader (7). He also caught a pass in the endzone that was called back for a penalty. Despite seeing plenty of targets, Kincaid failed to reach double-digit PPR points. With just three games of more than 10 points in 11 opportunities, Kincaid's disappointing season continues.

From RotoBaller

Jerry Jeudy Dec 15 9:20pm CT
Jerry Jeudy

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught 11 of his 14 targets for 108 yards in a 21-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 15. Jeudy easily led all Cleveland pass-catchers in targets, receptions, and receiving yards in the blowout loss to the Chiefs while notching the third 100-yard receiving game in his past five contests. The only concern here for fantasy managers rostering Jeudy is that the Browns benched Jameis Winston late in the game after his third interception and turned to second-year QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Head coach Kevin Stefanski would not say who would be his starting quarterback in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals but a switch to DTR would be a negative for the entire Cleveland passing game. Stay tuned.

Jalen Tolbert Dec 15 9:20pm CT
Jalen Tolbert

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Jalen Tolbert hauled in his fifth touchdown of the season in the 30-14 win over Carolina. The third-year receiver was targeted twice, catching his lone pass in the end zone for 11 yards. Tolbert's usage has not been consistent with both Brandin Cooks and Jake Ferguson in the lineup, keeping him off the fantasy radar for the time being.
