Jags QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) returns to practice

Mon Nov 25 12:26pm ET
Field Level Media

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence was scheduled to practice on Monday as the Jacksonville Jaguars returned from their bye week.

Lawrence, 25, missed the last two games for the Jaguars (2-9) with an AC joint injury in his left shoulder.

Coach Doug Pederson said the team will make a decision later in the week about his availability for Sunday's date with the visiting Houston Texans (7-5).

Mac Jones started in Lawrence's absence, completing a combined 31 of 51 passes for just 249 yards with zero touchdown passes and three interceptions in losses to the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.

Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 2,004 yards, 11 TDs and six picks in nine starts this season.

Bender's Starts/Sits: Week 12

Player Notes
Zach Charbonnet Nov 25 11:40am CT
Zach Charbonnet

Seattle Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet continued in his low-volume backup role in the Week 12 victory over the division-rival Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, carrying the ball six times for 22 yards (3.7 yards per carry) while not being targeted in the passing game for the first time all year. Charbonnet has only had double-digit carries twice (back in Weeks 2 and 3) when he was the starter in place of the injured Kenneth Walker III. The 23-year-old's six carries against Arizona represented his highest carry total since Week 7, but it wasn't enough to give him any kind of standalone fantasy value, even in a good matchup against a shaky Cardinals run defense. Charbonnet has been inefficient in his second NFL season (3.4 yards per carry) and will only return to fantasy relevance if Walker misses more time with injury down the stretch.

Trevor Lawrence Nov 25 11:20am CT
Trevor Lawrence

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will practice on Monday to give the team an idea where he's at coming off the bye week. An AC joint sprain in his left (non-throwing) shoulder has kept Lawrence out for the team's last two games, but the 25-year-old could be making enough progress to give him a shot to return for the Week 13 contest on Sunday against the division-rival Houston Texans. Lawrence's status for the upcoming weekend will all depend on how he looks and feels as he ramps up his throwing in practices. He's expected to need surgery eventually, but the Jaguars are hoping to put that off until the postseason. Lawrence returning under center would make all of Jacksonville's offensive skill players more interesting from a fantasy perspective. If Lawrence is inactive again in Week 13, expect Mac Jones to make his third straight start.

Aidan O'Connell Nov 25 11:20am CT
Aidan O'Connell

The Las Vegas Raiders are hoping that quarterback Aidan O'Connell (thumb) will be available to take over as the starter in Week 13 on Friday against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs now that Gardner Minshew II (collarbone) is out for the rest of the year. O'Connell has been on Injured Reserve since suffering a broken thumb against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7, but he's eligible to return to practice this week. If O'Connell isn't cleared, it makes little sense for the Raiders to go outside the organization to look for a starter in a lost season, which would make it unlikely they'd sign Daniel Jones, who was cut by the New York Giants last Friday. If O'Connell can't play against KC, the Raiders will likely start Desmond Ridder. O'Connell would be the better fantasy option over Ridder, but he'd also have very limited upside as a low-end QB2 option in superflex leagues against a strong Chiefs defense.

Tommy DeVito Nov 25 11:10am CT
Tommy DeVito

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said after the Week 12 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday that quarterback Tommy Devito will make the start in Week 13 on Thanksgiving on Thursday against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys "if he's healthy." DeVito got the wind knocked out of him on the final drive of the game in the fourth quarter and left for a play before coming back in. After returning, he took another big hit and didn't look great leaving the stadium. The 26-year-old signal-caller probably won't do much in practice from Monday through Wednesday, but we'd expect him to be out there against Dallas after going 21-for-31 for 189 yards with no TDs or interceptions in the 30-7 blowout loss to the Bucs. Dallas' defense has been disappointing in 2024, but they put up a spirited effort in the upset win over Washington on Sunday. DeVito will remain a desperation QB2 in superflex leagues if he plays.

Josh Downs Nov 25 11:10am CT
Josh Downs

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs (shoulder), who injured his right shoulder in the Week 12 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, is considered week-to-week and is a long shot to play in Week 13 against the New England Patriots, according to a source. However, the belief is he didn't suffer a major injury, so perhaps Downs will be ready to go in Week 15 against the Denver Broncos after the team's bye in Week 14. If the 23-year-old is unable to go against New England, it will mean that Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce and rookie Adonai Mitchell will start in three-receiver sets. Downs caught just three of his seven targets for 27 yards on Sunday against the Lions but had become the team's leading receiver in previous weeks. He's up to 53 receptions for 594 yards and four TDs in 10 games in his second NFL season and deserves to be stashed until he can return to the fold in Indy.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Nov 25 10:50am CT
Marvin Harrison Jr.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. seemed to have increased activity, despite what the stat sheet said, in the 16-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Harrison Jr. caught three passes for 47 yards on six targets, the second most on the team. He has had a boom-or-bust season, making it challenging for fantasy managers to decide whether or not to play him. Harrison Jr. was also one toe away from scoring a go-ahead touchdown, but he couldn't get his foot inbounds inside the pylon. Although he had three catches, the Cardinals schemed up plays to get him the ball, but the execution just wasn't there on any front. They have a tough matchup against the Vikings in Week 13, and Harrison Jr. will once again be a boom-or-bust start.

D.J. Moore Nov 25 10:40am CT
D.J. Moore

In Week 12, Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore turned in a standout performance in the team's narrow 30-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Moore finished with seven receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown, showing signs of improvement after a few quiet weeks. He also contributed in the rushing game, adding one carry for 10 yards. It was encouraging to see Moore used more creatively within the offense. His touchdown came on a well-designed screenplay that allowed him to waltz into the end zone untouched. He also made several plays where he was able to get in space, using his quickness and shiftiness to make defenders miss and generate big yardage. With a quick turnaround, Moore and the Bears will look to build on this performance when they face the NFC-leading Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Thursday.

Keenan Allen Nov 25 10:40am CT
Keenan Allen

On Sunday, Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen turned in a massive performance in the team's 30-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Allen finished with nine receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown and led the team with 15 targets, solidifying himself as quarterback Caleb Williams' go-to option throughout the game. Especially in short-yardage situations, Allen came up big, making key catches to move the chains when the Bears needed them most. This game showcased the best version of Allen we've seen this season, as he made impactful plays at critical moments, including a substantial late fourth-quarter touchdown. However, his performance was marred by a notable mistake: a dropped pass on 4th down when the Bears were deep in Vikings territory. Despite the misstep, this was Allen's best game of the year. With a quick turnaround, he and the Bears will face the NFC-leading Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Thursday.

Rome Odunze Nov 25 10:40am CT
Rome Odunze

In Week 12, Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze delivered a solid performance in the team's 30-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Odunze finished with five receptions for 39 yards but was kept out of the end zone for another week. While the other Bears playmakers were more involved in this contest, limiting Odunze's opportunities, he still made several key plays. Late in the game, with the Bears needing to generate big plays to stay in the contest, Odunze was targeted and showed his ability to step up in crucial moments. Although he didn't find the end zone, the rookie wideout continues to demonstrate promise as a dependable option. With a quick turnaround, Odunze and the Bears will face the NFC-leading Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Thursday, looking to bounce back.

Cole Kmet Nov 25 10:40am CT
Cole Kmet

In Week 12, Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet had a standout outing in the team's narrow 30-27 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Kmet finished with seven receptions for 64 yards, marking a significant improvement from his recent performances. Seeing the Bears' new offensive coordinator continue to feature Kmet after his increased usage in the previous week's game was encouraging. While Kmet had a strong performance overall, he did have an unfortunate drop on an easy first-down catch that stalled a Bears drive and led to a punt. Despite the miscue, Kmet's involvement in the offense is a positive sign, and it's clear the Bears are trying to get the ball to their veteran tight end. With a quick turnaround, Kmet and the Bears will look to bounce back against the NFC-leading Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Thursday.

Roschon Johnson Nov 25 10:20am CT
Roschon Johnson

On Sunday, Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson made an impact in the team's Week 12 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. While his offensive snaps were limited, Johnson made the most of his opportunities, rushing twice for 2 yards and a touchdown. As the Bears' primary short-yardage and goal-line back, Johnson converted a crucial touch near the end zone into a score. He also caught one pass for 10 yards, adding a small but solid contribution to the passing game. Johnson's fantasy value remains largely touchdown-dependent, especially as long as D'Andre Swift remains healthy and continues to dominate the backfield. If Johnson can maintain his role in the red zone, he'll continue to be a viable fantasy optionalbeit with a boom-or-bust profile. With a quick turnaround, the Bears will face the NFC-leading Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Thursday.

D'Andre Swift Nov 25 10:20am CT
D'Andre Swift

On Sunday, Chicago Bears running back D'Andre Swift had a challenging outing in the team's Week 12 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Swift rushed 13 times for just 30 yards, marking his worst performance in recent memory, though it came against a tough Vikings defense. While the running game was largely ineffective, Swift made his presence felt in the passing game, hauling in three catches for 35 yards. Despite being bottled up on the ground, Swift sparked the offense with a key reception that helped set up a touchdown drive. However, in disappointing news for Swift fantasy managers, the touchdown run went to his backup, Roschon Johnson, who has become the Bears' go-to option in goal-line and short-yardage situations. With a quick turnaround, Swift and the Bears will look to rebound against the NFC-leading Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Thursday.

Caleb Williams Nov 25 10:10am CT
Caleb Williams

This Sunday, Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams faced a tough test against the Minnesota Vikings in their Week 12 OT loss. Despite the challenging matchup, Williams showcased his potential in a standout performance. He completed 32 of 47 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns, demonstrating impressive accuracy and poise under pressure. Williams also added 33 rushing yards, leading the Bears' ground game. One of his most memorable plays came when he rolled out and delivered a perfect sideline pass to D'Andre Swift, a throw that only a handful of quarterbacks can make. Williams displayed excellent field awareness and was able to distribute the ball effectively to all his playmakers. With the Bears now shifting their focus to the NFC-leading Detroit Lions, they'll have a quick turnaround, facing off on Thanksgiving Thursday in a critical divisional matchup.

James Conner Nov 25 9:50am CT
James Conner

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner was productive through the air but couldn't get anything going on the ground in the 16-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Conner was limited to just eight yards on seven carries, as the Cardinals were repeatedly beaten at the point of attack. However, Conner still found a way to contribute, hauling in all five of his targets for 41 yards. He was expected to play a larger role given the circumstances of a tough divisional game on the road, but the ineffectiveness of the Cardinals' run game forced them to shift to a pass-first attack as they fell behind on the scoreboard. Conner is due for a bounce-back performance when the Cardinals travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings.

Javonte Williams Nov 25 9:40am CT
Javonte Williams

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams had a disaster of a performance in the 29-19 win over the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12 on Sunday a week after taking over lead-back duties in Denver's backfield. Williams had a team-high eight carries but produced minus-two yards while catching two of four targets for just six yards. In a great matchup against a banged-up and floundering Raiders defense, the 24-year-old fell flat and has quickly become an avoidable RB3/flex in a Broncos backfield that appears to be playing musical chairs in a three-man committee that also involves Jaleel McLaughlin, who had a team-high 44 rushing yards, and rookie Audric Estime. He has now had single-digit carries in each of the last three games and figures to continue to share the load with McLaughlin and Estime in Week 13 versus the Cleveland Browns.

Wil Lutz Nov 25 9:40am CT
Wil Lutz

We recommended starting Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz in all fantasy formats in a good Week 12 matchup against the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders, and he did not disappoint. Lutz made a season-high five field goals -- with two from 50-plus yards out and a long of 54 -- while also connecting on both of his extra-point opportunities. Denver's offense didn't have much trouble moving the ball up and down the field against a banged-up Raiders offense on their way to 29 points on the day, and Lutz took full advantage. With the strong performance, Lutz came out of Sunday's action as the top fantasy kicker for Week 12. With Denver's offense peaking under improving quarterback Bo Nix, Lutz has become a weekly top-12 consideration at the position in fantasy. He now ranks fourth among all kickers in 2024 in total fantasy points.

Aaron Rodgers Nov 25 9:33am CT
Aaron Rodgers

New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring, knee, ankle) has resisted getting scans done this season, not wanting to reveal the severity of his injuries out of fear of having to come off the field. The hamstring injury he suffered against the Denver Broncos Sept. 29 was believed to be a particularly significant one, but Rodgers assured everyone it was fine.

Fantasy Spin: Rodgers is a QB2, but when you put the injuries into perspective, he really hasn't played that poorly, for fantasy purposes at least. He'll be a matchup play the rest of the way following his bye week.

Marvin Mims Nov 25 9:30am CT
Marvin Mims

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. saw some work both on the ground and through the air in the team's 29-19 victory on Sunday. He ended the game with two carries for negative two yards and five targets which he turned into three receptions for 44 yards. Mims' speed and big play ability have made him a viable flex option in deeper leagues given the matchup, but he hasn't shown the consistency just yet. The Broncos take on the Cleveland Browns in Week 13.

Tyler Boyd Nov 25 9:00am CT
Tyler Boyd

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Tyler Boyd enjoyed his best game as a Titan in the 32-27 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. The former Cincinnati Bengal finished the game with six receptions for 55 yards on six targets and even had a pass attempt but couldn't complete it. Tennessee's passing game, led by Will Levis and Mason Rudolph has been inconsistent, to say the least. Even though DeAndre Hopkins left, Boyd hasn't seen much of an uptick in production just yet. He'll try to find the end zone for the first time against the Washington Commanders in Week 13.

Jaylen Wright Nov 25 8:50am CT
Jaylen Wright

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright saw a bit more work during the team's 34-15 win over the New England Patriots. The rookie back received seven carries and turned them into 28 yards. He also had one target but wasn't able to haul it in. One silver lining is that Wright finished ahead of Raheem Mostert in terms of touches, but his upside is still very limited when all three backs are healthy. He'll look to find some more success in a short week as they play the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving.
