Commanders CB Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) out vs. Steelers

Fri Nov 8 4:09pm ET
Field Level Media

The Washington Commanders ruled out newly acquired cornerback Marshon Lattimore for Sunday's home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers because of a hamstring injury.

Commanders coach Dan Quinn made the announcement Friday after Lattimore -- obtained from the New Orleans Saints at the league trade deadline on Tuesday for three draft picks -- didn't practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He was limited by a strained hamstring in recent weeks.

"We're trying to engage him as quickly as we can, so when it does become ‘go time,' there's not a lag there," Quinn said.

The Commanders (7-2) have a short week with a game at NFC East rival Philadelphia next Thursday.

Washington also worked out kickers with Austin Seibert dealing with a right hip issue and signed veteran Zane Gonzalez to the practice squad.

Lattimore, 28, started all seven games he played this season for the Saints before missing their game Sunday, a 23-22 loss at the Carolina Panthers. He has 30 tackles.

New Orleans selected him 11th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. A four-time Pro Bowl selection (2017, 2019, 2020, 2021) has 405 tackles, 15 interceptions -- two returned for touchdowns -- five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries and 88 pass breakups in 97 games (all starts).

Seibert, 27, has made 25 of 27 field-goal attempts -- a long of 55 yards -- and all 22 extra-point attempts in eight games in his first season with Washington. He missed practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday.

He has played 39 career games and is 70 of 83 on field goals and 78 of 84 on extra points for the Cleveland Browns (2019-20), Cincinnati Bengals (2020), Detroit Lions (2021-22), New York Jets (2023) and Commanders. The Browns picked him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma.

Gonzalez, 29, has not played in an NFL game since 2021. He is 91 of 113 on field-goal attempts -- a long of 57 yards -- and 127 of 134 on extra points in 63 games for the Browns (2017-18), Arizona Cardinals (2018-20) and Panthers (2021). The Browns selected Gonzalez in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Arizona State.

Hot Plays, Fades and Sleepers: Week 10

Player Notes
Christian McCaffrey Nov 8 6:00pm CT
Christian McCaffrey

The San Francisco 49ers officially listed running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles) as questionable for the Week 10 game this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday's final injury report. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that McCaffrey will be activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday and should be good to go. Last year's rushing leader is dealing with Achilles tendinitis in both of his legs that has sidelined him all year to this point. While fantasy managers have to be ecstatic that they will finally be able to put the 28-year-old All-Pro in their starting lineups, you should also temper expectations somewhat, as it would be a surprise if the Niners didn't play it safe from a workload perspective in his 2024 debut. Still, we aren't recommending that anyone sit McCaffrey if he's active. Jordan Mason will revert to backup duties and loses most of his fantasy value.

Mac Jones Nov 8 5:50pm CT
Mac Jones

The Minnesota Vikings defense/special teams unit will travel to EverBank Stadium this Sunday to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. This is one of the better matchups of the weekend for the team's D/ST, as the Vikings will likely be facing a Jaguars squad sans their starting quarterback, Trevor Lawrence (shoulder). Minnesota's defense has been excellent this season and would have been a strong play regardless against a Jags unit averaging the thirteenth-fewest yards per game in the NFL (320.7). Now, the D/ST's ceiling should be even higher, with backup quarterback Mac Jones calling signals for a dinged-up Jaguars offense. Fire them up confidently as a top-three option (D/ST3) this week in RotoBaller's ranks.

From RotoBaller

Will Levis Nov 8 5:50pm CT
Will Levis

Tennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo faces the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10. The good news for Okonkwo is that he posted his second-highest yardage total of the season last week versus New England, but the bad news is that it only amounted to 38 yards. Both of his most productive games have been without quarterback Will Levis (shoulder) quarterbacking the team, but he has been announced as the Week 10 starter. Okonkwo is not worthy of a roster spot in most leagues at the moment and remains off the fantasy radar in Week 10 against a great defense.

From RotoBaller

Zach Ertz Nov 8 5:20pm CT
Zach Ertz

Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz should be viewed as a low-end TE1 heading into Week 10 despite his poor showing last weekend. Facing the Giants, Ertz had his worst showing of the season as he brought in his lone target for just five yards. However, during Weeks 6 through 8, Ertz scored at least double-digit PPR points in each of them and averaged seven targets per game. This weekend, even though he will be facing a tough Pittsburgh defense, he should be viewed as a reliable option in deeper formats, given the consistent volume he has seen throughout a majority of the campaign.

From RotoBaller

Austin Seibert Nov 8 5:20pm CT
Austin Seibert

Washington Commanders kicker Austin Seibert (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Seibert did not practice on Wednesday but was upgraded to limited capacity on Thursday and Friday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the weekend, as he may be a game-time decision. Since joining the Commanders in Week 2, Seibert has been one of the most productive and stable kickers in fantasy football, as he has gone 25-for-27 on attempts and a perfect 22-for-22 on extra points. If Seibert can play in Week 10, fantasy managers should view him as a high-end option, given how potent the Washington offense has performed this season.

From RotoBaller

Jayden Daniels Nov 8 5:10pm CT
Jayden Daniels

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels should be viewed as a high-end QB1 despite facing a tough Pittsburgh Steelers defense. Daniels continued his incredible rookie campaign last weekend against the New York Giants as he went 15-for-22 with 209 yards and two scores. He added 35 yards on the ground. During Weeks 6 and 8, Daniels threw for at least 250+ passing yards and attempted at least 30 passes. This weekend, he will face a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that has allowed the fourth-fewest points to opposing QBs this season. However, given his ability as a runner, fantasy managers should continue to feel confident locking Daniels into their lineup in all formats.

From RotoBaller

Austin Ekeler Nov 8 5:10pm CT
Austin Ekeler

Washington Commanders running back Austin Ekeler could operate as the lead running back for the second-straight game, with Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) listed as questionable. Last week, operating as the lead option, Ekeler scored a season-high 17.3 PPR points and found the end zone for the second time this season. He tied Chris Rodriguez Jr. for a team-high 11 carries. However, Ekeler was also heavily involved in the passing game, bringing in three of his four targets for 41 yards. Given his role as a potential three-down back, fantasy managers should view the 29-year-old as a solid RB2 if Robinson cannot play facing a Pittsburgh defense that has allowed the 11th-fewest PPR points to opposing RBs this season.

From RotoBaller

Chris Rodriguez Jr. Nov 8 5:10pm CT
Chris Rodriguez Jr.

Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. could see increased opportunities as No.1 running back Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) is listed as questionable and is in danger of missing his second-straight game. Last weekend, Rodriguez surprisingly saw more attempts than the presumed No.3 option Jeremy McNichols. In this game, Rodriguez tallied a team-high 52 yards off 11 attempts. However, the Kentucky product is still on the practice squad and would need to be elevated before Sunday's game in order to suit up. If the Commanders decide to leave him off the roster, fantasy managers should expect Jeremy McNichols to serve as the backup behind Austin Ekeler and could be worth a look as a desperation flex in deeper formats.

From RotoBaller

Terry McLaurin Nov 8 5:10pm CT
Terry McLaurin

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin should be viewed as a high-end WR2 in Week 10 when he faces the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last weekend, the Commanders did not need to rely on their passing attack as often, which limited McLaurin's opportunities. However, he still brought in two of his three targets for two touchdowns and 19 yards. Since Week 3, McLaurin has averaged 18.0 PPR points per game and has found the back of the end zone six times. Even though the Steelers have allowed the tenth-fewest PPR points to opposing wideouts, McLaurin should remain locked into all fantasy lineups this weekend given his role as the clear top pass catcher in Washington.

From RotoBaller

Noah Brown Nov 8 5:10pm CT
Noah Brown

Washington Commanders wide receiver Noah Brown has scored at least double-digit PPR points in each of his past two games but remains a risky flex option in Week 10, facing a tough Steeler defense. After catching the game-winning Hail Mary in Week 8, Brown led all Washington pass catchers with five catches for 60 yards in their Week 9 victory over the Giants. Over the past two weeks, Brown has seen six targets in each game. Fantasy managers should expect Brown to continue to be deployed as the clear No.2 wideout in this offense, but he could continue to struggle in certain matchups. This weekend, facing the Steelers, who have allowed the tenth-fewest PPR points to opposing wideouts, could limit his overall production which makes him a risky flex option for deeper formats.

From RotoBaller

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Nov 8 5:10pm CT
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10. The undrafted receiver out of Indiana has taken advantage of the extra opportunity afforded to him after DeAndre Hopkins was traded, posting a touchdown in four straight games. In the past two weeks he's seen 10 targets, second on the team behind Calvin Ridley. Westbrook-Ikhine has seemed to develop a solid rapport with quarterback Mason Rudolph right at the time that Will Levis takes back the top signal-caller spot for the Titans. Because of this, he's off the fantasy radar in Week 10 against a Chargers defense that has been extremely hard to move the ball against.

From RotoBaller

Trey McBride Nov 8 5:00pm CT
Trey McBride

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride remains at the top of tight end rankings as the Cardinals host the New York Jets in Week 10. McBride finally broke through and scored his first offensive touchdown of the season on a 2-yard jet sweep rush. It's clear that McBride remains the focal point of the Cardinals' passing attack, even though he has not yet recorded an end-zone reception this season. McBride is one of the premier tight ends in fantasy football, and that is likely to remain the case as the Cardinals host the Jets.

From RotoBaller

Calvin Ridley Nov 8 5:00pm CT
Calvin Ridley

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley faces the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10 NFL action. Ridley was a droppable fantasy asset not even three few weeks ago, but has bounced back with Mason Rudolph quarterbacking the Titans, posting 216 yards over the past two weeks. Will Levis has been named the starter for Week 10, and while Ridley has had success with Levis, it's been a lot more shaky with the Kentucky product dishing him the ball. Add in the fact that LA is fifth-best at stopping fantasy WRs and first in the league in total points allowed, and you have a potential disaster waiting for Ridley managers. He will always have the big play ability in his back pocket, but don't expect much from this Titans offense and Ridley that has been mostly ineffective this season, especially with Levis at the helm.

From RotoBaller

Robert Woods Nov 8 4:50pm CT
Robert Woods

Houston Texans wide receiver Robert Woods could suddenly be his team's top receiving option in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions. Houston wide receiver Stefon Diggs (knee) is already out for the season, while Nico Collins (hamstring) is questionable after being activated from injured reserve. Tank Dell (back) popped up on the final injury report and is also questionable, which could leave Woods as the team's most trusted receiver. Woods' role will be hard to predict based on the status of the other receivers, making him highly risky to play, but he could be worth the stash in deep formats.

From RotoBaller

Tyjae Spears Nov 8 4:50pm CT
Tyjae Spears

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (hamstring) will return in Week 10 to face the Los Angeles Chargers. The second-year back out of Tulane has missed the last three games due a hamstring injury, but practiced in full on Thursday and Friday and has no designation heading into the weekend. With his limited involvement pre-injury, starting Spears against a defense that is top-10 across the board in rushing defensive metrics is not advisable. Especially with Will Levis taking over the offense yet again, which is likely to have a negative impact on all skill position players for Tennessee, Spears is not a great start in any leagues this week.

From RotoBaller

Joe Flacco Nov 8 4:50pm CT
Joe Flacco

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Joe Flacco started in place of the struggling Anthony Richardson in Week 9 versus the Vikings, but the veteran QB was unable to get the offense going, completing 16 of 27 passes for 179 yards, no touchdowns, one interception, and a fumble. Finding success in Week 10 could be just as much of an uphill battle, as the Colts take on a tough Buffalo pass defense and Flacco will be down one of his weapons with Michael Pittman Jr. set to miss the game. While Buffalo has been tough on quarterbacks, allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing signal-callers, their rush defense has been gashed for the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. With former Pro Bowl running back Jonathan Taylor in tow, it's all the more reason to lean on the run game. That leaves Flacco as a low-end QB2 in Week 10.

From RotoBaller

Tony Pollard Nov 8 4:40pm CT
Tony Pollard

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard will take on the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 10 of the NFL season. The Titans RB1 missed some practice this week with a foot injury but was removed from the final report and is good to go against LA. He's been one of more reliable RB2s on the season, albeit with a capped ceiling, not having topped more than 18 half-PPR points yet this year. The matchups haven't dictated the outcome of Pollard's success for the most part, although he did gash the soft Patriots run-defense last week for a season-high 128 rushing yards after receiving 31 opportunities. Tyjae Spears (hamstring) will return this week after missing the past three games which will decrease the workload for Pollard, but he still remains a safe floor play against the Chargers stout rush defense. Expect another 10-15 point half-PPR outing for the former Cowboy.

From RotoBaller

C.J. Stroud Nov 8 4:40pm CT
C.J. Stroud

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud should be considered a QB2 in a risky matchup Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Detroit's defense ranks eighth against fantasy quarterbacks and is tied for first in hurries, bad news for a Texans offensive line that allowed eight sacks last week. Additionally, wide receivers Nico Collins (hamstring) and Tank Dell (back) are both questionable, so Stroud could be relying on the likes of Xavier Hutchinson and Robert Woods. The Sunday night kick time also offers little room for error, so managers in one-QB formats should start exploring their options.

From RotoBaller

John Parker Romo Nov 8 4:40pm CT
John Parker Romo

Minnesota Vikings kicker John Parker Romo will make his season debut this Sunday when Minnesota travels to EverBank Stadium to square off against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Vikings placed rookie kicker Will Reichard (quad) on injured reserve earlier this week after missing his first two career attempts in Week 9's 21-13 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Romo -- who spent the offseason with Minnesota -- was signed by the team this past Tuesday and is now primed to take over kicking duties, with Reichard set to miss at least four contests. The 27-year-old spent 2023 in the XFL, drilling 17-of-19 field goal attempts for the San Antonio Brahmas. Still, he won't be a viable fantasy option until he proves his salt on an NFL field. Romo is RotoBaller's K19 in this week's ranks.

From RotoBaller

T.J. Hockenson Nov 8 4:30pm CT
T.J. Hockenson

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson gets a juicy matchup this weekend when his team takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a road matchup. The Iowa product returned to action last weekend for the first time since injuring his ACL a season ago to put up 27 yards on 3-of-4 receiving in the Vikings' win over the Indianapolis Colts. Hockenson played eight fewer snaps than teammate Josh Oliver (41), who had a strong outing of his own (5/58/1). However, it's excellent news that the 27-year-old came away from the outing without a setback, and his snap counts and usage are likely to rise over the coming weeks as he gets more acclimated to action. Still, fantasy managers may want to give him another week before slotting the veteran into their lineups if they have a better option -- despite the fantastic matchup. He's RotoBaller's TE13 in PPR formats in this week's rankings.
