NFL roundup: Rams top Seahawks in OT on one-handed catch

Mon Nov 4 1:02am ET
Field Level Media

Demarcus Robinson made a one-handed 39-yard touchdown catch with 4:57 left in overtime to give the Los Angeles Rams a 26-20 victory against the host Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

The Seahawks (4-5) got the ball first in the extra session, but Kenneth Walker III, who rushed for a game-high 83 yards, was stopped on fourth-and-1 from the Los Angeles 16-yard line. The Rams then needed only four plays to score the game-winning touchdown.

Rookie safety Kamren Kinchens intercepted two passes in the fourth quarter -- returning one of them 103 yards for a touchdown to break a 13-13 tie -- for the Rams (4-4), who won their third consecutive game.

Seattle quarterback Geno Smith hit Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 14-yard scoring strike with 51 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score once again, this time at 20-all. Smith-Njigba finished with seven catches for a career-high 180 yards and two scores.

Los Angeles quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 25 of 44 passes for 298 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Cooper Kupp had 11 receptions for 104 yards. Smith was 21-of-34 passing for 363 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. He was sacked seven times.

Bills 30, Dolphins 27

Tyler Bass put a 61-yard field goal right down the middle with five seconds remaining to lift Buffalo to a win over Miami in Orchard Park, N.Y.

Buffalo (7-2) led by seven after Josh Allen connected with Quintin Morris for a 2-yard touchdown and a 27-20 lead with 6:18 left in the fourth quarter. However, Miami (2-6) proceeded to zip down the field, knotting things at 27 on Tua Tagovailoa's 7-yard scoring strike to Jaylen Waddle.

But Bass came to the Bills' rescue, and following his kick, a lateral play by the Dolphins went nowhere. Allen finished with 235 yards, three touchdowns and an interception on 25-of-39 passing. Tagovailoa completed 25 of 28 passes for 231 yards and two TDs.

Bengals 41, Raiders 24

Joe Burrow completed his first 15 throws and tied a career high with five passing touchdowns to lead Cincinnati past visiting Las Vegas.

Burrow finished 27-of-39 passing for 251 yards and threw a pick-6 to Jack Jones that pulled the Raiders within 31-17 in the fourth quarter. Running back Chase Brown recorded his first career 100-yard game, rushing 27 times for 120 yards while catching a touchdown pass for the Bengals (4-5).

Gardner Minshew II was 10-of-17 passing for 124 yards for Las Vegas (2-7), which has lost five straight games. Former Cincinnati Bearcats star quarterback Desmond Ridder replaced Minshew with five minutes left in the third quarter and threw a late touchdown pass to rookie tight end Brock Bowers.

Vikings 21, Colts 13

Sam Darnold threw three touchdown passes in the second half and Minnesota held on to beat Indianapolis in Minneapolis.

Jordan Addison, Jalen Nailor and Josh Oliver had one touchdown reception apiece for the Vikings (6-2), who bounced back from a two-game skid. Darnold completed 28 of 34 passes for 290 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions, and Justin Jefferson finished with seven catches for a game-high 137 receiving yards.

Cornerback Kenny Moore II scored the only touchdown for the Colts (4-5) on a fumble recovery. Joe Flacco completed 16 of 27 passes for 179 yards and one interception.

Falcons 27, Cowboys 21

Kirk Cousins completed 19 of 24 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns, helping Atlanta defeat visiting Dallas, which lost quarterback Dak Prescott to injury.

Bijan Robinson rushed for a game-high 86 yards for Atlanta (6-3), which has won five of its past six games. Darnell Mooney caught five passes for 88 yards and a touchdown for the Falcons.

Prescott completed 18 of 24 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown before exiting with a hamstring injury in the second half. Prescott was replaced by Cooper Rush, who completed 13 of 25 passes for 115 yards and a score as the Cowboys (3-5) lost their third straight.

Ravens 41, Broncos 10

Lamar Jackson threw for 280 yards and three touchdown passes and guided host Baltimore over rookie Bo Nix and Denver.

Baltimore running back Derrick Henry ran for 106 yards on 23 carries with two touchdowns. His first score was his 100th career rushing touchdown, surpassing Barry Sanders for 10th on the all-time list, and he later moved past Marshall Faulk and Shaun Alexander for eighth place. The Ravens (6-3) still trail the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) in the AFC North.

Denver (5-4) lost for just the second time in its past seven games. Nix was 19-of-33 passing for 223 yards and became the first quarterback in franchise history to catch a touchdown pass since John Elway did so (1986).

Panthers 23, Saints 22

Chuba Hubbard ran for a 16-yard touchdown with 2:18 remaining as Carolina edged New Orleans in Charlotte to end a five-game losing streak.

Hubbard finished with 72 yards on 15 carries and scored twice, while Bryce Young threw for 171 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Panthers. Xavier Legette caught a 3-yard score as Carolina (2-7) avenged its 47-10 loss at the Saints in Week 1.

New Orleans quarterback Derek Carr, who had missed the previous three games because of an oblique injury, was 18-for-31 passing for 236 yards and a touchdown. Saints running back Alvin Kamara tallied 155 rushing yards and 60 receiving yards, but New Orleans (2-7) suffered its seventh consecutive loss.

Chargers 27, Browns 10

Justin Herbert passed for 250 of his 282 yards in the first half to help Los Angeles cruise past host Cleveland.

Quentin Johnston caught four passes for 118 yards and a touchdown and Josh Palmer also had a scoring reception for the Chargers (5-3), who won for the third time in four games. J.K. Dobbins rushed for 85 yards and two scores on 14 carries for Los Angeles.

Jameis Winston struggled in his second start for the Browns, as he was intercepted three times while completing 26 of 46 passes for 235 yards and one touchdown. It marked the 13th time Winston has thrown three or more picks in a regular-season game. Myles Garrett had three sacks and Cedric Tillman had a touchdown reception for the Browns (2-7).

Commanders 27, Giants 22

Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin connected for two touchdowns and Washington held on to hand New York its fourth straight loss in East Rutherford, N.J.

Daniels was 15-of-22 passing for 209 yards for the Commanders (7-2), who played without starting running back Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring). Austin Ekeler produced 83 total yards (42 rushing, 41 receiving) and a touchdown.

Daniel Jones went 20-for-26 passing for 174 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 54 yards and a score for the Giants (2-7). With New York trailing 27-16 in the fourth quarter, Jones hit Theo Johnson down the middle for a 35-yard touchdown with 2:48 remaining, but the ensuing two-point conversion failed.

Titans 20, Patriots 17 (OT)

Nick Folk converted a 25-yard field goal with 2:32 left in overtime and Tennessee snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over New England in Nashville.

Folk's second field goal of the game capped a 13-play drive that ate the first 7:28 of overtime. The Patriots' ensuing possession ended when Amani Hooker intercepted rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who had thrown a 5-yard touchdown pass to Rhamondre Stevenson on the final play of regulation. Maye was 29-of-41 passing for 206 yards with the touchdown and two interceptions, both by Hooker. He also ran for 95 yards on eight carries for New England (2-7).

Mason Rudolph completed 20 of 33 passes for 240 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for Tennessee (2-6).

Cardinals 29, Bears 9

Trey McBride, Trey Benson and Emari Demercado each ran for a touchdown as Arizona pulled away from Chicago in Glendale, Ariz.

James Conner had 107 yards on 18 carries for the Cardinals (5-4), who won their third game in a row. Kyler Murray completed 13 of 20 passes for 154 yards. Demercado's 53-yard touchdown run with nine seconds left in the second quarter gave Arizona a 21-9 halftime lead.

Caleb Williams completed 22 of 41 passes for 217 yards as the Bears (4-4) dropped their second straight game. Fellow rookie Rome Odunze had five catches for 104 yards.

Eagles 28, Jaguars 23

Nakobe Dean intercepted Trevor Lawrence in the end zone with 1:38 remaining and Philadelphia survived a second-half surge by visiting Jacksonville.

Saquon Barkley gained 199 yards from scrimmage and scored two touchdowns, DeVonta Smith made a spectacular scoring grab and the Eagles (6-2) won their fourth straight game after blowing a 22-0 lead.

Barkley rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 40 yards and a score. Jalen Hurts passed for 230 yards and two touchdowns and ran for a TD. Lawrence ran for two touchdowns for the Jaguars (2-7).

Lions 24, Packers 14

Jared Goff completed 18 of 22 passes for 145 yards, connecting with eight different receivers, with a touchdown and no interceptions in Detroit's rain-soaked victory over host Green Bay.

The Lions (7-1) have won three straight games at Lambeau Field and are 5-2 against the Packers under coach Dan Campbell.

The Packers (6-3) had their four-game winning streak snapped. Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love was cleared to play as a game-time decision after a groin injury a week earlier at Jacksonville. Love completed 23 of 39 pass attempts for 273 yards with no touchdowns and an interception.

Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 9

Player Notes
T.J. Hockenson Nov 4 12:00am CT
T.J. Hockenson

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson caught 3-of-4 targets for 27 yards in the team's 21-13 win over the Indianapolis Colts. It was the former Iowa Hawkeye's first taste of action since tearing his ACL and MCL late last season. The three receptions are slightly disappointing; still, it is excellent to see him escape the outing, seemingly still healthy. As the season progresses. Hockenson's snap count and opportunity share will likely continue rising, and he'll get eased in with another softer matchup his next time out in Week 10. The Vikings will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday in what projects to be an easier go against a subpar Jags secondary.

Antonio Pierce Nov 4 12:00am CT
Antonio Pierce

The Las Vegas Raiders hired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy following Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He was in his first season with the franchise following an underwhelming stint with the Chicago Bears. The Raiders also fired offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello. Evidently, Las Vegas ownership felt it was time to make a move after their team lost to the Bengals by a score of 41-24 on Sunday. Quarterback Gardner Minshew II was benched for Desmond Ridder during the contest while Alexander Mattison was held to just 36 rushing yards. If the Raiders, currently 2-7, don't turn things around soon, we could see an even larger coaching staff shakeup. Head coach Antonio Pierce figures to be on the hot seat heading into November.

Josh Oliver Nov 3 11:50pm CT
Josh Oliver

Minnesota Vikings tight end Josh Oliver caught all five of his targets for 58 yards and scored in Minnesota's 21-13 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Oliver put together his best performance of the season in this one, as his yards, receptions, and targets were all season-high figures. Sunday marked back-to-back weeks for the sixth-year tight end with a touchdown. It was a solid outing for the 27-year-old, albeit out of nowhere, particularly with teammate T.J. Hockenson back in the fold from his near-year-long hiatus. With Hockenson's snap counts undoubtedly set to rise and his involvement likely to follow, this kind of performance out of the former third-round pick isn't prescriptive moving forward. Minnesota will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday in another enticing matchup.

Jordan Addison Nov 3 11:40pm CT
Jordan Addison

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison reeled in all five of his targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in his team's 21-13 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football. It was a strange game for Minnesota as they moved the ball at will against a hapless Colts defense. However, they saw multiple drives stall in the red zone during the first half. It was the first touchdown for the second-year wideout since Week 4, and the five receptions were a new season high. Addison may never garner such lofty target totals on a Vikings offense that presents as one of the more run-centric teams in the league, especially playing across the field from one of the NFL greats in his teammate, Justin Jefferson. Still, he's a solid WR2 for an NFL squad. Minnesota again gets a tempting matchup next Sunday when they face a soft Jacksonville Jaguars defense in a road matchup.

Darius Slayton Nov 3 11:40pm CT
Darius Slayton

New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (concussion) entered concussion protocol following Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Washington Commanders. The 27-year-old had caught all three of his targets for 49 yards in the divisional contest. This news is particularly relevant given that Slayton has been a popular name in trade rumors. It's unclear whether Sunday's injury takes Slayton off the trade market or if teams will still be interested in acquiring him. To his credit, he's played quite well in a subpar Giants offense this year, tallying 32 catches, 469 yards, and one touchdown so far. He ranks as a high-end WR4 in fantasy football for Week 10, but only if he remains with the Giants and clears concussion protocol prior to kickoff.

Justin Jefferson Nov 3 11:20pm CT
Justin Jefferson

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson hauled in 7-of-9 targets for 137 yards in Sunday night's 21-13 win over the Indianapolis Colts. It's the second straight 100-yard outing for the superstar wideout and his third straight contest with at least seven receptions. While he didn't score a touchdown, Jefferson tormented the Colts' secondary all evening, racking up five receptions of at least 20 yards -- three of such in the first half. The 25-year-old phenom entered Week 9 averaging 92.3 receiving yards per game and only helped further cement his case as the most complete wide receiver in football. Week 10 presents another outstanding matchup for the former LSU Tiger when he lines up against a sieve-like Jacksonville Jaguars secondary. Pencil him in as an elite WR1.

From RotoBaller

Jaleel McLaughlin Nov 3 11:10pm CT
Jaleel McLaughlin

Denver Broncos running back Jaleel McLaughlin did very little in the 41-10 blowout loss to the hosting Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in Week 9, carrying the ball five times for only 10 yards and catching all three of his targets for another 10 yards through the air. It was a disappointing showing after scoring his third touchdown of the year in the Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers. Rookie Audric Estime had just as many carries as McLaughlin on the day and was more productive with 35 yards (seven yards per carry), while lead back Javonte Williams finished with 14 touches for 84 yards total. Between rookie QB Bo Nix and Estime, McLaughlin is unlikely to see much rushing volume unless Williams misses time with an injury. The 24-year-old is hard to recommend as a flex play, even in deep fantasy leagues, heading into a Week 10 matchup against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs.

Aaron Jones Nov 3 11:10pm CT
Aaron Jones

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones rushed 21 times for 64 yards in the team's 21-13 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football. He added another 18 yards through the air on 4-of-4 receiving. Jones wasn't his usual efficient self in Week 9, rushing for just 3.0 yards per clip. It was an excellent matchup on paper, but he didn't come through against a porous Colts defense. Over the last two weeks, the 29-year-old's efficiency has dipped as opposed to his other outings. Still, his involvement in the passing game should continue to keep his fantasy floor high. The former Green Bay Packer will get a chance to rebound in Week 10 when the Vikings square off against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium. Jacksonville has been stout against the run this season, having allowed just 4.2 yards per carry to their opponents heading into Week 9. However, they let up the most receptions to opposing running backs (51) and the third-most receiving yards out of the backfield (400).

From RotoBaller

Courtland Sutton Nov 3 11:10pm CT
Courtland Sutton

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton delivered for fantasy managers in his second straight strong matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in the 41-10 loss in Week 9 on Sunday. Sutton had team-highs in catches (seven), targets (10) and receiving yards (122) while also completing a two-yard touchdown pass to rookie QB Bo Nix on a trick play at the goal line early in the first quarter. He benefitted from the Broncos in catch-up mode all day and recorded his second straight 100-yard game. The 29-year-old is definitely on a roll right now and is Nix's clear top target in the passing game, but Sutton still has bust potential as a WR3/flex heading into a Week 9 matchup on the road against the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs. Sutton has only two TDs through nine weeks after scoring a career-best 10 in 2023. He'll be looking to score for the first time since Week 6.

From RotoBaller

Drake London Nov 3 11:10pm CT
Drake London

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London (hip, oblique) is believed to be dealing with a hip pointer and an oblique strain following Sunday's win over the Dallas Cowboys, according to James Palmer of Underdog Fantasy. The 23-year-old exited in the first half after catching two passes for 27 yards and one touchdown. The Falcons' young playmaker has been a reliable WR1 in fantasy football this season, but managers could be forced to pivot if London ends up missing extended time. In such a scenario, Darnell Mooney would step up as the Falcons' top receiver.

From RotoBaller

Javonte Williams Nov 3 11:00pm CT
Javonte Williams

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams had a team-high 12 carries for 42 yards and caught two of his three targets for 42 yards in the 41-10 Week 9 blowout loss on the road to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Williams' receiving work stood out in an otherwise mediocre day, with his 34-yard catch in the first quarter going as the team's longest play on the day. The 24-year-old's volume was certainly hurt by the fact that the Broncos fell behind early and never could recover. Williams' production has improved after a rough start to the season, but his two-touchdown performance in the Week 8 win over the New Orleans Saints has really been his only truly impressive showing of the year for fantasy managers. The good news is he has reached 80 scrimmage yards in four of the last six games. In Week 10 against the Chiefs on the road, Williams will be a low-upside RB3/flex.

From RotoBaller

Sam Darnold Nov 3 10:50pm CT
Sam Darnold

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold completed 28-of-34 passes for 290 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in Sunday night's 21-13 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He added 14 yards on four carries and coughed up one fumble, too. Despite the turnovers, it was another excellent outing for Darnold, who has now thrown at least two touchdowns in all but two games this season and three or more in three instances. Additionally, it was the 27-year-old's first game in 2024, during which he tossed multiple interceptions. He could have had an even bigger day, but the Vikings consistently stalled in the red zone in the first half. With a juicy road matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on tap for Week 10, the journeyman QB could again be in store for a productive performance. Jacksonville has allowed the second-most passing yards in the NFL through eight games and the second-most yards per pass attempt to opposing offenses (7.3).

From RotoBaller

Bo Nix Nov 3 10:50pm CT
Bo Nix

Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix went 19-for-33 passing for 223 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the 41-10 blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens on the road in Week 9 on Sunday. Nix added six carries for 36 yards on the ground and added his first career receiving touchdown on a two-yard grab on a trick play at the goal line from receiver Courtland Sutton. The 24-year-old's pick was his sixth of the year but just his first since Week 6 and the second in his last seven games. His lone interception came on the team's first possession of the game and was a pass that should have been caught. Nix was still useful in fantasy because of his legs and his receiving score, but this was a disappointing showing against a defense that had struggled against the pass in 2024. The ups and downs will continue for the rookie, and it won't get any easier in Week 10 on the road against the Chiefs.

From RotoBaller

Kyler Murray Nov 3 9:20pm CT
Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray's arm wasn't needed much in the 29-9 win over the Chicago Bears. Murray's official stat line was 13 completions on 20 passing attempts for 154 yards, along with two rushes for six yards. The Cardinals easily moved the ball on the ground and consistently had solid field position. This led to a decrease in Murray's usage, as the Cardinals took a 21-9 lead at halftime and went into cruise control in the second half. All three of the Cardinals' touchdown drives resulted in rushing touchdowns. While this was not the outcome fantasy managers wanted to see, it shouldn't lead to panic. Kyler Murray remains a fantasy starter as the Cardinals host the New York Jets in Week 10.

Erick All Nov 3 8:50pm CT
Erick All

The Cincinnati Bengals fear that tight end Erick All Jr. (knee) suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's 41-24 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. All caught both of his targets for 24 yards before exiting the contest in the first half. While nothing has yet been confirmed, this would be a massive blow to the rookie who reportedly earned quarterback Joe Burrow's trust. If what the team fears is true, it will be the second ACL tear to the same knee that the Iowa product injured in October 2023. Tight ends Mike Gesicki and Tanner Hudson figure to see an increase in usage if the fourth-round pick of this year's draft is forced to miss time. He has 18 catches and 134 scoreless yards on 20 targets thus far in 2024.

Caleb Williams Nov 3 8:40pm CT
Caleb Williams

The Green Bay Packers' defense and special teams unit were a non-factor in the team's 24-14 loss to their NFC North rival Detroit Lions. The Lions were very balanced with 137 yards passing and 124 yards rushing and only gave up 17 points of scoring to the Lions' offense, but the Packers could only muster one sack on Lions quarterback Jared Goff. It wasn't a very fruitful afternoon for the Packers D/ST and they'll get a week off in Week 10 as they'll be on bye. For Week 11's game against Green Bay's rival Chicago Bears, the Packers D/ST should be viewed as a low-end starting unit looking to bounce back against a rookie quarterback in Caleb Williams.

Kerby Joseph Nov 3 8:40pm CT
Kerby Joseph

The Detroit Lions defense/special teams delivered a gritty performance in Week 9, overcoming a tough matchup and allowing over 400 yards to the Green Bay Packers. Their fantasy value was salvaged by Kerby Joseph's key interception return for a touchdown, helping secure the 24-14 win. Despite the yardage allowed, Detroit's defense stepped up when it mattered most. Averaging eight fantasy points per game this season, the Lions D/ST continues to be a reliable option in favorable matchups and will look to keep up the momentum next week against the Houston Texans.

From RotoBaller

Caleb Williams Nov 3 8:40pm CT
Caleb Williams

Per Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus, quarterback Caleb Williams (ankle) should be OK, as the NFL's Ian Rapoport reported. Williams appeared to tweak his ankle in the waning stages of the team's 29-9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but apparently he'll be fine. "He limped off there a little bit," said Eberflus. "He came in, he looks to be fine." It's excellent news for Chicago and the rookie as they begin preparing for their Week 10 home matchup against the New England Patriots next Sunday. Despite the 22-year-old's back-to-back subpar outings, things could be looking up for him next weekend, as he has still yet to lose a game at home in his first NFL season.

From RotoBaller

Sam LaPorta Nov 3 8:30pm CT
Sam LaPorta

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta struggled in Week 9, posting just two receptions for 28 yards in the team's 24-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers. After a season-best performance last week, LaPorta fell short again, marking his third game with fewer than five PPR fantasy points and his sixth single-digit fantasy outing in eight games. Even with Jameson Williams out (PED violation), LaPorta was largely uninvolved, as the Lions continued to rely heavily on their rushing duo of David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. Despite his early-season promise, LaPorta remains a volatile option with Detroit's offense leaning on its ground game. He'll aim for a rebound in Week 10 against the Houston Texans.

Jake Bates Nov 3 8:30pm CT
Jake Bates

Detroit Lions kicker Jake Bates had an average fantasy showing in Week 9, finishing with one field goal and converting all three extra points in the 24-14 win over the Green Bay Packers. This brings Bates to 30 of 31 on extra points for the season. This also marked only the third time this season that he's finished with less than eight fantasy points. Bate's streamable status remains strong thanks to Detroit's high-scoring offense. Bates continues to offer reliable production in favorable matchups and will look to add to his season totals next week against the Houston Texans.
