Panthers TE Ja'Tavion Sanders carted off field

Sun Nov 24 3:02pm ET
Field Level Media

Carolina Panthers tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders was taken to a hospital to be evaluated for a concussion following an injury late in the first half of Sunday's home game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

As Sanders was tackled near the sideline after a 10-yard reception, he was flipped upside down and landed directly on the top of his helmet. After receiving attention from the team's medical staff, he was strapped to a backboard and taken off the field on a cart with 40 seconds remaining in the half.

On the CBS broadcast following halftime, Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Sanders had movement in all his extremities, while extreme precaution was taken because of back tightness. CBS later reported he had a concussion.

The 21-year-old rookie out of Texas had a team-leading three receptions for the Panthers at the half for 49 yards. In 11 games this season, Sanders has 29 receptions for 302 yards and a touchdown.

Sanders was a fourth-round selection in the NFL draft in April.

Bender's Starts/Sits: Week 12

Player Notes
Jalen Tolbert Nov 24 8:00pm CT
Jalen Tolbert

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Jalen Tolbert recorded a touchdown in the third quarter of the exciting 34-26 win over the Washington Commanders. Tolbert was targeted four times, catching two passes for 22 yards and the touchdown. He was fifth on the team in receiving on a day where quarterback Cooper Rush spread the ball around. Tolbert will remain a touchdown-dependent flex option going forward, although the return of Brandin Cooks (knee) could further muddy his usage.

KaVontae Turpin Nov 24 8:00pm CT
KaVontae Turpin

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver/return specialist KaVontae Turpin made one of the plays of the day with his speedy 99-yard kick return late in the game against Washington. The score put Dallas up 27-17 with under three minutes to go, although they nearly lost late. Turpin totaled 179 return yards on the day and also caught a pass for eight yards on his lone target. He is off the fantasy radar in most formats, but is an intriguing dart throw in formats that utilize return yardage.

Cooper Rush Nov 24 7:50pm CT
Cooper Rush

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush played well on Sunday in the thrilling 34-26 win over the Washington Commanders. Rush completed 24-of-32 passes for 247 yards and two scores while scrambling four times for a yard in his first win of the season under center for Dallas. Rush will be in QB2 range off a short week heading into Thursday's Thanksgiving matchup with the New York Giants.

Rico Dowdle Nov 24 7:50pm CT
Rico Dowdle

Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle paced the team in rushing on Sunday in the 34-26 victory over Washington. Dowdle carried the ball 19 times for 86 yards, accounting for 94% of the team's rushing yards. He was targeted three times, catching all three for 12 yards. The Cowboys' lead back will remain in RB2 territory heading into Thursday's Thanksgiving game against the New York Giants.

CeeDee Lamb

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb paced the team in receiving in the 34-26 win over Washington on Sunday. Lamb was targeted 12 times, catching 10 passes for 67 yards while also rushing once for a yard. The star receiver remains a high-end WR2 with Cooper Rush under center as the team prepares for the New York Giants on a short Thanksgiving week.

Luke Schoonmaker

Dallas Cowboys tight end Luke Schoonmaker grabbed a late 22-yard touchdown reception in the thrilling 34-26 win over the Washington Commanders, his first of the season. The second-year tight end played well in place of Jake Ferguson (concussion), recording three catches for 55 yards on four targets. The Michigan product may start again if Ferguson can't go on a short week against the New York Giants on Thanksgiving.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Nov 24 7:30pm CT
Jaxon Smith-Njigba

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued his 2024 breakout on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Smith-Njigba was clearly quarterback Geno Smith's preferred target on important downs in this game. Smith-Njigba caught his fourth touchdown of the season and led the Seahawks in targets once again. Smith-Njigba is building serious momentum. He has now recorded at least 110 receiving yards or a touchdown in three straight games. He is a top 10 fantasy wide receiver on the season which was not what most expected coming into the season. With Smith-Njigba seemingly finding consistency, he has entered the must-start conversation. The Seahawks do not have the worst schedule moving forward so Smith-Njigba should continue to produce at a relatively high level. Fantasy manager dreams are finally coming true for the 2023 first-round pick.

Michael Pittman Jr. Nov 24 7:30pm CT
Michael Pittman Jr.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. led the Indy receiving corps in Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Lions, tying Josh Downs with a team-high seven targets and turning it into six receptions for 96 yards. No other Colt receiver had more than three catches or 39 yards. It was an encouraging performance on a day where Anthony Richardson completed just 11 passes on 28 attempts. It was the second consecutive week in which the 27-year-old recorded at least seven targets and five catches with Richardson under center. The Colts will take on the Patriots in Week 13 who just allowed Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill to total 192 yards receiving on 13 catches, so Pittman Jr. has a chance to keep the momentum going so long as Richardson keeps feeding him targets.

Geno Smith Nov 24 7:20pm CT
Geno Smith

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith threw for 254 yards and a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Smith added an interception and only scored 13.36 fantasy points. Smith was much better in real life than he was in fantasy. He made a few solid plays for the Seahawks en route to a victory. Smith's passing efficiency remains steady, but his volume has been down in recent weeks. He has not cleared 34 passing attempts since Week 6 as the Seahawks have been trying to slow down games and play better defense. The tactic is working as the team finds themselves as winners of two straight games. Divisional games no less. Look to continue to pick your matchups for Smith throughout the season. He should likely be left on benches in Week 13 when the Seahawks travel to New York, but he could be back on the streaming radar in Week 14 against Arizona.

Kenneth Walker III Nov 24 7:20pm CT
Kenneth Walker III

Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III was the recipient of six targets and four receptions in the team's Week 12 win against the Arizona Cardinals. Walker finished the game with 22 total opportunities for massive volume. His rushing production was poor (2.6 yards per carry) but the passing volume continues to propel Walker to RB2 numbers. The lack of touchdowns in recent weeks is certainly hurting fantasy managers. The Seahawks have scored 20 or less points in five straight games. However, the Seahawks are finally finding success and decent balance offensively. The defense has also stepped things up in recent weeks. If this team can fully put it together on offense, the points, and subsequently the touchdowns for Walker, should begin to flow. Do not be discouraged by Walker's recent production relative to his early season games. Walker is still a quality starter in fantasy and is performing at about the level you drafted him to be.

From RotoBaller

Tyler Lockett Nov 24 7:20pm CT
Tyler Lockett

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett is now completely off the fantasy radar. He has not earned more than four targets since Week 7, and he has now caught just two passes in two consecutive games. Quarterback Geno Smith's attention seems to have shifted from Lockett to fellow wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba who has emerged in recent weeks. The Seahawks have also toned down their passing volume which has shrunk the amount of targets available for each of the skill position players on the team. It is encouraging that Lockett was the target on an end zone interception for Smith. However, had the two connected, it still would not signal brighter days ahead for Lockett. Lockett has seemingly aged out of fantasy relevance. If anything were to happen to Smith-Njigba or DK Metcalf, Lockett would be a viable option. With those two players healthy, Lockett belongs on waivers at this point.

From RotoBaller

D.K. Metcalf Nov 24 7:20pm CT
D.K. Metcalf

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf was quiet in a Week 12 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Metcalf caught four passes for 59 yards on five targets. Since his return from an MCL sprain in Week 11, Metcalf has not produced the high-end numbers fantasy managers are accustomed to. Additionally, fellow wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has emerged as an excellent weapon for the Seahawks and quarterback Geno Smith. Still, Metcalf's talent is too strong to ignore. He is unlikely to stay quiet for long. This is especially true considering that the Seahawks are entering a stretch run of the season in which they have a chance to take control of the NFC West. They do not have an egregious schedule for wide receivers ahead and should be able to produce solid numbers in the passing game. It is only a matter of time before Metcalf finds his way back into the high-end WR2 conversation.

Gardner Minshew II Nov 24 7:10pm CT
Gardner Minshew II

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew II (collarbone) will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign. The signal-caller, who hasn't had an eventful year in Vegas, suffered a broken collarbone during Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos. While there was a chance Minshew wouldn't be back under center moving ahead even if he stayed healthy, the latest injury will officially mark the end of his season. With Aidan O'Connell (thumb) on the shelf, the Raiders may hand the keys over to Desmond Ridder, who went 5-for-10 for 64 yards in Week 12. There was also an update from NFL Media's Ian Rapoport early on Sunday that the team may be interested in Daniel Jones, at least once he clears waivers and hits the open market.

Gardner Minshew II

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew II (shoulder) exited Sunday's meeting with the Denver Broncos. The veteran had 230 yards, one touchdown, and one pick in this one, so he's had a decent showing. However, he took a hard hit late in the contest and was assisted back to the locker room. There hasn't been an official injury designation released by the team. Yet, fantasy managers should at least consider him questionable to return, although it's unlikely he'll be back, considering the contest is nearing an end. In the meantime, Desmond Ridder is in to handle things under center.

Ezekiel Elliott Nov 24 6:13pm CT
Ezekiel Elliott

Dynasty | Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle had 86 rushing yards, three catches and 12 receiving yards in a win against Washington. Dynasty Analysis: Most importantly, Dowdle had 22 touches compared to just three for Ezekiel Elliott. It seems Dallas is finally ready to let Dowdle be the primary running back, but that may not mean much moving forward since the Cowboys are mired in a miserable season. Still, Dowdle could be a good flex player or RB2 moving forward should they continue to feature him. Unfortunately, his dynasty value likely won't rise much this year unless he really dominates over the next couple of months since it seems Dallas will likely replace him next season.

Jayden Daniels Nov 24 6:13pm CT
Jayden Daniels

Dynasty | Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 25-of-38 passes for 275 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, while adding 74 rushing yards and another score in a loss to Dallas. Dynasty Analysis: The Commanders have lost three in a row after winning seven-of-eight games this season, but Daniels is far from the one to blame. He continues to make plays through the air and on the ground and looks the part of a QB1 long-term. While the losses are a concern, they've done nothing to move the needle in terms of his dynasty value. He remains an elite-level hold at the quarterback position in dynasty leagues.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Sean Tucker Nov 24 6:13pm CT
Sean Tucker

Dynasty | Bucs running back Bucky Irving had 87 rushing yards, six catches, 64 receiving yards and one touchdown in a win against the Giants. Dynasty Analysis: Tampa Bay has a three-headed monster in the backfield with Irving, Rachaad White, and Sean Tucker, but it's hard to look at that and say any of them have a higher dynasty ceiling than Irving, who was flat-out dominant today. While his weekly value may have some volatility to it, Irving looks the part and is steadily rising up the dynasty rankings. He's a player worth attempting to acquire as the trade deadline approaches in many leagues.

Tua Tagovailoa Nov 24 6:13pm CT
Tua Tagovailoa

Dynasty | Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 29-of-40 passes for 317 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in an easy win against New England. Dynasty Analysis: It's really pretty simple here, When Tua is healthy, he's a QB1 who can post monster games every week. However, he's also perhaps one head injury away from never playing again. It's a nightmare for dynasty managers, but it's clear Tua is simply going to be a high-risk hold for anyone who has him on their roster. His dynasty value is likely capped out based on his health, but dynasty managers should ride the hot hand here as it looks like the Dolphins offense is starting to click again.

Tua Tagovailoa Nov 24 6:13pm CT
Tua Tagovailoa

Dynasty | Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle had eight catches for 144 yards and a touchdown in a win against New England. Dynasty Analysis: Waddle recorded five catches for 109 yards in the opener, then proceeded to post nine straight games with single-digit fantasy production, which is shocking based on his level of talent and history of production. While some of that is clearly because of Tua Tagovailoa missing time, Waddle has looked lost all year, This could be the start of a second half breakout, but Waddle's dynasty managers will need to see more before trusting him in lineups. His dynasty value plunge should stop for the week, however.

Jonnu Smith Nov 24 6:13pm CT
Jonnu Smith

Dynasty | Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith had nine catches for 87 yards and a touchdown in a win against New England. Dynasty Analysis: A week after posting a career high 101 yards against the Raiders, Smith could be this week's TE1 after another gem. It's clear Miami is seeing him as a matchup mismatch and utilizing him to a new degree recently. At this point, Smith's value arrow is pointing up and he's looking like a lineup lock moving forward.
