Trevor Megill Sat May 18 10:50pm CT

Milwaukee Brewers relieverTrevor Megillpicked up his sixth save of the season in Saturday's 4-2 win at the Houston Astros, striking out three of the four batters he faced. He threw 16 pitches, landing 12 for strikes. Megill lowered his ERA to 1.54 and has not allowed a run in five of his last six outings. Overall, the 30-year-old owns a 1.54 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 13:3 K: BB across 11 2/3 innings in 2024. Megill continues to fly under the radar and will continue to be Milwaukee's primary closer, while Devin Williams (back) is sidelined.

Matt Chapman Sat May 18 10:50pm CT

San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman went 4-for-4 with two doubles, four runs, and a stolen base in Saturday's 14-4 win over the Colorado Rockies. He doubled twice and singled twice as part of his second career four-hit day. The 31-year-old also swiped his fifth bag of the season. He is starting to heat up and is 7-for-8 with four doubles, four runs, an RBI, and a stolen base over his last two games. Overall, Chapman is slashing .232/.296/.388 with five home runs, 20 RBI, 29 runs, and five stolen bases over 46 games in 2024. Chapman will look to continue his hot hitting in the series finale against the Rockies and makes an excellent daily streamer or DFS option for Sunday's state.

James McArthur Sat May 18 10:30pm CT

Kansas City Royals closerJames McArthurpicked up his 11th save of the season in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Oakland A's. Despite allowing two hits, McArthur fanned two batters for his first scoreless outing since May 8. Hope springs eternal that McArthur may have cured his penchant for allowing homers after giving up one in four of his previous five outings, which has taken his ERA to 4.35 this season. He's on pace to exceed 30 saves, making him a solid foundation for fantasy managers who correctly rolled the dice on his gaining the closer's role in March.

    From RotoBaller

Andres Munoz Sat May 18 10:30pm CT

Seattle Mariners reliever Andres Munoz allowed a run on one hit while striking out two to earn the save during Saturday's 4-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Munoz entered the ninth inning to protect a two-run lead. He allowed a solo home run to Gunnar Henderson but was able to shake it off and strike out Adley Rutschman to end the game. The homer to Henderson was Munoz's first earned run over his last 11 innings. He owns a 1.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and a 26:7 K: BB across 19 1/3 innings in 2024. Munoz is one of the relief pitchers in baseball, and fantasy managers should continue to roll with him in all league formats.

Shota Imanaga Sat May 18 10:10pm CT

A day after getting six no-hit innings fromPaul Skenes, the Pittsburgh Pirates got another solid outing from their rotation asBailey Faltertossed 7 2/3 innings of shutout baseball in Saturday's 1-0 loss at the Chicago Cubs. He allowed three hits and two walks while striking out two over 7 2/3 scoreless frames. The 27-year-old did not factor into the decision. Falter allowed just three hits in the longest outing of his career, matching zeroes with Cubs aceShota Imanaga. "It was awesome," Falter said about matching up with Imanaga. Despite the no-decision, Falter, 2-2 on the season, lowered his ERA to 3.53, while his 0.98 WHIP makes him an intriguing option for fantasy managers who need help in that category. In his next start, the southpaw draws a tough matchup against the Braves and can be used as a deep-league streamer.

    From RotoBaller

Grayson Rodriguez Sat May 18 10:00pm CT

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) allowed one hit and three walks while striking out seven across six scoreless innings in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners. He did not factor into the decision. The 24-year-old returned from the injured list on Saturday after missing two weeks with right shoulder inflammation. He was efficient on Saturday, throwing 82 pitches and landing 50 for strikes. The right-hander owns a 3.15 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 44:15 K: BB across 40 innings in 2024. Rodriguez will look to build off his performance in his next start on the road against the Chicago White Sox.

    From RotoBaller

Edwin Diaz Sat May 18 9:50pm CT

New York Mets closerEdwin Diazsquandered a four-run lead in the ninth inning of Saturday's 10-9 loss in ten innings at the Miami Marlins. Diaz gave up an RBI single toJazz Chisholmbefore allowing a game-tying three-run homer toJosh Bell, who tied the game. After the game, Diaz told SNY that his "confidence is down" and that he would be open to relinquishing the closer's role until he can regain his form. Diaz has five saves this season, but his ERA has zoomed to 5.50 after allowing four home runs in his last 8 1/3 innings. Reed Garrett and Adam Ottavino would be next line to handle closer duties for the Mets until Diaz gets back on track.

    From RotoBaller

Luis Matos Sat May 18 9:40pm CT

San Francisco Giants outfielder Luis Matos went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI in Saturday's 14-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies. After driving in a career-high five runs on Friday, Matos topped that on Saturday by collecting six RBI against the Rockies. The 22-year-old blasted a three-run shot off Ty Blach in the first inning to put the Giants on the scoreboard. He hit an RBI double in the third inning and capped off his six-RBI day with a two-run single in the eighth frame. Matos has been red hot and driven in 16 runs over his last five games. Fantasy managers should add Matos off the waiver wire and use him as a streamer while he continues to swing a hot bat. Matos will look to keep things rolling in the series finale on Sunday against the Rockies.

    From RotoBaller

Josh Bell Sat May 18 9:10pm CT

Miami Marlins first baseman Josh Bell went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 10-9 victory over the New York Mets. With runners on first and second base, Bell took Mets closer Edwin Diaz deep in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game 9-9. The Marlins scored another run in the 10th inning to eventually win the game. The 31-year-old is starting to heat up at the plate and has multi-hit efforts in four of his last five games. He is slashing .229/.315/.366 with six home runs, 24 RBI, and 20 runs over 47 games in 2024. Fantasy managers can use Bell as a streamer in most leagues while he's swinging a hot bat.

    From RotoBaller

Shota Imanaga Sat May 18 6:00pm CT

Chicago Cubs lefthander Shota Imanaga was excellent once again on Saturday afternoon, going seven innings while scattering four hits and a walk to go with seven strikeouts. He did not surrender a run. Imanaga did not factor into the decision but is 5-0 in eight starts with a .84 ERA, a .94 WHIP, and 51 strikeouts in 46 innings. Imanaga will start against the St. Louis Cardinals next Friday.

    From RotoBaller

Christopher Morel Sat May 18 5:50pm CT

Chicago Cubs third baseman Christopher Morel walked the Pittsburgh Pirates off with a single to score Cody Bellinger with the game's only run, sealing a 1-0 victory for the Cubs. Morel has found a home in the cleanup spot in the batting order, hitting .215 with nine home runs, 32 RBI, 22 runs scored, and four stolen bases. Morel has cut his strikeout rate from 31% in 2023 to a manageable 21.5% thus far in 2024. Look for the productive Morel to continue playing third base and batting in the four-spot for the 26-21 Chicago Cubs.

    From RotoBaller

Garrett Cleavinger Sat May 18 5:40pm CT

Veteran lefthander Garrett Cleavinger earned his third save on Saturday, closing out the Toronto Blue Jays in a 5-4 victory. Closer Pete Fairbanks is back from the IL, but Cleavinger got the call to face the lefty portion of the Toronto lineup. He has been excellent for the Rays this year, going 3-0 with the aforementioned three saves, four holds, a 1.53 ERA, and a 1.25 WHIP in 17 innings in 2024. Fairbanks should get the bulk of the save opportunities, but Cleavinger could vulture some when the Rays have to face lefties in the ninth, or when Fairbanks needs a night off.

    From RotoBaller

Jonny DeLuca Sat May 18 5:30pm CT

Tampa Bay Rays rookie outfielder Jonny DeLuca hit a go-ahead home run Saturday afternoon against the Toronto Blue Jays' Nate Pearson. He also stole a base after getting the start in right field today. DeLuca is hitting .306 through 14 games with two home runs, 12 RBI, and three stolen bases. He has been productive in a small sample size despite a crowded outfield that also includes Josh Lowe, Jose Siri, and Randy Arozarena. DeLuca may be a rosterable outfielder in deeper leagues at this time while he stays hot.

    From RotoBaller

Kevin Gausman Sat May 18 5:20pm CT

Veteran ace Kevin Gausman threw six strong innings on Saturday afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays. Gausman surrendered three earned runs on eight hits while striking out six, leaving with a 4-3 lead. However, Nate Pearson gave up a two-run homer to outfielder Jonny DeLuca to ruin the win for Gausman. Gausman remains at 2-3 with a 4.89 ERA and 1.51 WHIP, with 43 strikeouts in 42 innings. He only went three innings in his last start, giving up six earned runs. He will make his next start this coming week at Detroit on Thursday.

    From RotoBaller

Taijuan Walker Sat May 18 5:10pm CT

Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker will throw a "light" bullpen session on Sunday. Walker injured his toe after being hit by a comebacker on Thursday night. Manager Rob Thomson sounded optimistic that Walker would make his next start. The team will see how Walker feels tomorrow after the bullpen session and make any further determinations from there. Walker is 3-0 with a 4.91 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched this season. Walker is currently scheduled to pitch Wednesday against the Texas Rangers. If he cannot make that start, look for veteran Spencer Turnbull to make it.

    From RotoBaller

Giancarlo Stanton Sat May 18 4:10pm CT

New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton crushed a solo shot and went 2-3 with two RBI and a walk in the Yankees 6-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday afternoon. The 382-foot shot was Stanton's 11th HR of the season. Stanton was lackluster, by his standards, during April but has heated up in May, hitting for an .871 OPS during the month with five HR. The slugger now has a HR in three of his last four games and is one of three Yankees who have hit 11 or more HR on the season (Judge, Soto, Stanton). The 34-year-old will look to continue his hot month on Sunday when he faces off against White Sox scheduled starter Chris Flexen.

    From RotoBaller

Juan Soto Sat May 18 4:00pm CT

New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto had a monster day on Saturday in the Yankees' 6-1 win over the Chicago White Sox. Soto blasted two home runs, both solo shots off White Sox starter Brad Keller, and tallied three RBI in the midst of going 4-4 with a walk. The lefty's big day raised his OPS to a team high .975, just a couple ticks above teammate Aaron Judge. After coming over in a trade from the San Diego Padres in the offseason, Soto is proving the trade package was worth the cost. The 25-year-old stated on Thursday that he would be open to contract talks with the Yankees during the season if they approached his agent Scott Boras. It would likely be a smart decision for the Yankees to do so. Soto will look to continue his MVP-caliber season on Sunday against scheduled White Sox starter Chris Flexen.

    From RotoBaller

Luis Gil Sat May 18 3:50pm CT

New York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Gil struck out 14 batters in six innings and picked up the win in the Yankees 6-1 win over the Chicago White Sox. The 14 strikeouts are a career high for Gil, who had struck out 16 batters in his last three starts combined. After giving up just one earned run, the righty lowered his ERA to 2.39 on the season and improved his record to 5-1. Gil has been a pleasant surprise for the Yankees this season, giving the Yankees a much needed boost in their rotation with Gerrit Cole being sidelined. Gil will look to continue his hot start with a great chance to rack up more strikeouts against the Seattle Mariners in his next scheduled start on Thursday.

    From RotoBaller

Seth Lugo Sat May 18 3:40pm CT

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Seth Lugo will look to notch his fifth straight quality start on Saturday when the leads the Royals at home against the Oakland A's. Lugo has been one of the bigger surprises this season, posting up a miniscule 1.66 ERA. In his last outing he struck out a career high 12 batters in eight innings against the Los Angeles Angels. Lugo may not be able to replicate that against the Oakland A's, though, as current A's batters have hit him for a .379 wOBA in 25 PA, though they are striking out against him at a 24% clip. Fantasy managers should keep Lugo in their lineups and DFS managers should look to target Lugo against the A's, who are hitting for just a .573 OPS over the last seven days.

    From RotoBaller

Joc Pederson Sat May 18 3:30pm CT

Arizona Diamondbacks designated hitter Joc Pederson is back in Arizona's lineup on Saturday after being scratched yesterday. Pederson has generally been used as a platoon hitter and yesterday's late decision was likely due to the fact the Tigers were facing left-hander Tarik Skubal. With right-hander Jack Flaherty on the mound the matchup for Pederson is certainly more favorable. Fantasy managers will want to ensure the lefty slugger is in their lineup as Pederson has posted a .530 wOBA in 14 AB against Flaherty in his career. DFS managers should look to find a way to fit Pederson into their lineups as well.
